You meant "the greatest of all time."

He is not a striker, but he scores highest.

He dribbles highest.

Highest solo goals.

Maddest play-making.

Highly entertaining to watch.

Sentiments aside, if we just choose to look strictly at what happens on the pitch and contributions to the game, it's not hard to see that Messi is the greatest of his generation. No other person comes near

You have said it all bro

Oputa Panel: The Tale Of A Neglected Supposed Remedy Against Injustices

The Oputa Panel (Human Rights Violations Investigation Commission) was set up by the Obasanjo administration in year 2000, to investigate human rights abuses dating back to the military coup of January 15th 1966 till May 28th 1999, the day before the last military handover to civilians. The body constitutes; Chief Chukwudifa Oputa (a Court Justice) as the head, Reverend Father Matthew Kukah as secretary, Mrs Elizabeth Pam, Dr Mudiaga Odje, Barrister Bala Ngilari, Mrs Modupe Areola and Alhaji Adamu Lawal Bamalli as members. Below are the timeline of the Oputa Panel sittings:

• October 23rd, 2000: The Oputa Panel began sitting officially
• November 27th 2000: Major Hamza Al-Mustapha testified
• December 8th 2000: Babangida and some former military intelligence chiefs were favoured in a high court ruling not to appear before the Panel on personal security grounds
• January 26th 2001: Ogoni people appear before the Panel in Port Harcourt
• April 18th 2001: Enugu sitting of the Panel to receive testimonies and petitions
• April 26th 2001: Ohanaeze testify in Enugu
• July 25th 2001: Ohanaeze, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) make presentations before Panel in Abuja over the January 15th 1966 coup
• September 11th 2001: President Olusegun Obasanjo appears before Panel to give evidence
• October 8th 2001: Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) testifies before Panel in Abuja where star witness, Major General Ibrahim Haruna was cross-examined
• October 18th 2001: Last day of sitting of Panel
• October 31st 2001: IBB gets a favourable judgment from the Court of Appeal “that the Oputa Panel cannot summon Babangida” to defend himself and his security chiefs on the murder of Dele Giwa
• May 21st 2002: Panel submits “Interim Report” to President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abuja in six volumes
• May 28th 2002: Panel submits “Main Report” to President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abuja in 60 large boxes
• June 3rd 2002: IBB files a suit still before Federal High Court asking it “to stop the President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, from implementing the report of the Oputa-led Human Rights Violations Investigation Commission”. This suit was jointly filed with the former Director of Military Intelligence, Col. Halilu Akilu and Brigadier General Kunle Togun. The defendants are; The President, Olusegun Obasanjo, Attorney General of the Federation and Justice Oputa and his Commission
• February 3rd 2003: IBB gets a favourable judgment from the Supreme Court that the Panel had “no powers to summon witnesses outside the Federal Capital Territory” and further “that the 1999 Constitution made no provision for tribunals of inquiry”.

Till date, as far as shocking and useful the revelations in the Oputa Panel were, the reports are yet to be published and those indicted are yet to be punished accordingly – what a country!

When the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Two Division of the Army during the Nigerian-Biafran War, Major General Ibrahim Haruna (Rtd) was called upon to testify for the second day running of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) at the Oputa Panel for his alleged dastardly role in the war on 8th October, 2001, he declared that he had no regrets for the Asaba massacre in which over 500 Igbo men (civilians) were killed by his troops. He also revealed that Nigeria’s late Prime Minister, Alhaji Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa had a foreknowledge of the 1966 coup that claimed his life. (It was said that the then GCO Aguiyi-Ironsi informed the Prime Minister of an imminent coup a week before the coup, but he just didn’t budge). On the 14th of January, the British government were said to have given him invitation to pass the night at the British High Commission in Lagos to escape the coup, he turned it down revealing that the mutineers will still kill him there! Major General Haruna who was cross-examined by the Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s counsel, Chief Anthony Mogbo (SAN) said whatever action he or his troops took during the war was motivated by a sense of duty to protect the unity of the Country. Hear him in his own words, “As the Commanding Officer and leader of the troops that massacred in Asaba, Owerri and Ameke-Item, I acted as a soldier maintaining the peace and unity of Nigeria.” He went further, “If General Yakubu Gowon apologised, he did it in his own capacity. As for me I have no apology, it was as barbaric as the 1966 coup; it was as barbaric as the pogrom, if there was also any other atrocity, the Kano extra judicial killing was as barbaric as that.” Haruna also recommended that General Muhammadu Buhari, General Yakubu Gowon and General Ibrahim Babangida be charged with failure to investigate the 1966 coup during their different terms as head of States. He said, “Charge Buhari, Gowon, Babangida for not investigating the 1966 coup on the grounds of dereliction of duty.” (The clown forgot to mention the trial of the perpetrators of the July 29th retaliatory coup).

When he was questioned further on the rationale behind Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) tagging the 1966 coup an ‘Igbo Coup’ in spite of Alhaji Balewa, M.D Yusuf then a police officer, Col. Maimalari and many others of Northern extraction having prior knowledge of the coup, he declined response. He disclosed that the North had planned a Jihad on the day of the coup, insisting that the statement “Igbo, Igbo, Igbo you are no longer part of Nigeria” credited to the former Prime Minister (Balewa) was a misinterpretation of the actual intent.

On the Gideon Akaluka incidence of 1994 in Kano, Gen Haruna said that it was wrong to say that the Kano State government never punished the killers of Mr Gideon Akaluka, saying 20 unarmed persons were victims of extra-judicial killings which were supposed to be a deterrent. In his words, “My Lord, I do not know who ordered the extra-judicial killing, nor where they were killed. All I know is that the Kano State Government killed 20 people linked to the barbaric act.”

Going by the above, Major General Haruna has shown that he is just like his boss (Gowon) although I love his gut he was bold enough to declare his position without mincing words, unlike Gowon who is pretending to be remorseful but still keeping a posture of “I am innocent” despite the fact that commanders under his watch were killing, maiming innocent lives!

THE MAN, OGEDENGBE, A GREAT YORUBA WARRIOR AND THE CAUSE OF THE KIRIJI WAR!

PREAMBLE: IJESALAND BEFORE OGEDENGBE'S BIRTH

It was a known fact that before Chief Ogedengbe was born, Ilesa and the entire Ijesaland was under the total control of the Alaafin of Oyo, who doubled to be the eldest son of Olofin Ajaye popularly called the Oduduwa of Yoruba hegemony.

There had been several attacks and assaults on Ilesa by the Oyos in order to make Ilesa, the headquarters of Ijesaland, a tributary territory for the Oyo Empire. All efforts to conquer the Ijesas were not successful because of their strength, fortitude and winning spirit. It was during these periods of war, turbulence and communal disturbances that a Saviour and redeemer, a conqueror and a champion of his time would come.

Before Chief Ogedengbe was born, the Owa Obokun of Ilesa was virtually disturbed and perplexed on the continuous ravaging wars from the Oyos. The Owa Obokun then invited his Ifa Oracle consultants to find ways of quelling these incessant problems from the Oyos. These consultants consulted their ifa oracle and there was a revelation that a ‘great son’ of Ijesa was about to be born who would salvage his people from the whims and caprices of the Oyos. In order to actualize the birth of this boy, a black cow and other herbs far and near were to be concocted. The Ifa Oracle then decided where the ‘golden boy’ was to be born. It fell on ‘Atorin’ a little village very close to Ifewara in Atakunmosa West Local Government (present Osun State).

OGEDENGBE’S BIRTH:- A pregnant woman by name, FALUPO woke up in her village at Atorin, only to be told to show up at the Town Hall where verification exercise on whom to bear the ‘golden boy’ was to be identified. Lady Falupo amongst other sixteen (16) pregnant women were identified to bear the child. All rituals were performed at Atorin near Ifewara and deposits were taken to a site close to the present Hope Grammar School Bolorunduro, Ilesa for sedimentation.

After twenty-one days of the rituals, the areas where the rituals were placed started to spring-up water, later stream and eventually developing to a river. The Slogan, “Nya woo oo” ‘come and see’ now river ‘Ayao’ , which is a popular river in Ilesa metropolis.

No one can say exactly the date Chief Ogedengbe was born. Speculations were rife but one would boldly say he was born in the early 19th Century between 1805 – 1815 A.D. This could be decided by his strength and prowess during the last series of battles he fought at kiriji battle front at the Kiriji Battle front. Relying on the records of Captain B. W. Bower, the Resident of the British Government at Oyo, he rated him to be old and averse in war experience and he would be about eighty years of age Captain B. W. Bower wrote this in his records in 1885

His mother’s town was Atorin while his father's was OLORISA. He did not grow up in Olorisa because the mother had relocated to Atorin because of predictions and matrimonial problems from the bubbling husband whose personal physique and rotundity attracted several women to his household. His name is Apasan Forijiwa.

The little Ogedengbe grew up at Atorin until he shot a pregnant woman at Atorin. He could not go to school because schooling and formal education was unknown to Ijesaland then. He ran to IIesa to avoid being humiliated and assaulted or even punished. He was at Ifofin, in his Uncle’s house as an abode.

As a bachelor, he befriended a lady who had been bethrothed to one high Chief in Ilesa called Odole Ariyasunle. The Chief was not happy, he ordered his arrest, he was chained and detained at Idi – Ito ( Ijebu Jesa Junction of Ilesa). His peers and friends forcibly released him and he had to escape to Ibadan.

HIS FIRST TRAVAIL AT IBADAN: -

On getting to Ibadan, he could not settle peacefully. He had to enroll into the Ibadan upper Army Unit meant for outstanding soldiers. Aare Latosa gave him the necessary trainings and equipments to make him up. He was at Ibadan when he learnt that the Ibadan’s were waging war with the Ijesas and Igbajo (a district of Ijesas). He hurriedly left Ibadan to assist the Ijesas and Igbajo forces. On the battlefront, he was caught and brought back to Ibadan to face the case of sedition. He was given severe punishments and attempts were made to terminate his life. He was able to escape all the threats to his life.

HIS ESCAPE FROM IBADAN

After several attempts to his life failed. The Ibadan Army under Aare Latosa said he should be stoned to death. At this time a woman, OLOKUNLARO came to his rescue and he was able to escape. He fought his way back to Ilesa with great difficulties. Several security men were killed but Ogedengbe was not hurt.

On his arrival at Ilesha, Ogedengbe warned the Ijesas about the imminent wars already planned by the Ibadans against Ijesas. To the contrary, Odole Ariyasunle who was never happy raised opposing views and advised Ogedengbe to leave Ilesa. Ogedengbe left Ilesa for Igbara Oke where he turned to his headquarters instead of Ilesa.

As predicted by Ogedengbe that the Ibadans would attack Ilesa, they came and pounced on the Ijesa heavily. The Ibadans surrounded Ilesa but could not enter into the town. This was because Ilesa was protected by traditional walls which were seven (7) in number. The height of each wall was over forty (40 feet). Though there were seven outlets into Ilesa then, they were highly fortified by Ijesa forces. The Ibadans could not penetrate despite their might and strength. These walls were called ‘ODI’.

Ogedengbe heard about the onslaught of the Ibadans on his kinsmen, he was disturbed and he started to nurse an idea of revenge against the Ibadans if GOD permits. He settled permanently at Igbara Oke where he extended his authorities over several Ekiti, Akoko and Edo counties. He fought and commanded his soldiers to capture several towns in the present Ekiti, Ondo, Edo and Kwara states under the banner and respect for the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland. Throughout his expansionist battles, he did not touch any of the beaded Obas of Oduduwa. He did not fight in Ijero because of the Ajero of Ijero, equally Aramoko because of the Deji and Owo Because of the Olowo. He was even invited to Benin Kingdom and honored by the Oba of Benin for his efforts in regaining the lost glory of Oduduwa. Towns like Ise-Ekiti, Emure, Somorika, Iyayu, Ituwo, Epinmin, Iboropa, Oka Akoko and tens of other could not forget Ogedengbe in their histories. These prowesses led to a slogan “O soko Ekiti soko Akoko, Eniti Akoko ndi esin sin lori oke."

THE KIRIJI WAR AND OGEDENGBE’S INVOLVEMENT

Ogedengbe was at Igbara Oke when the Kiriji war of 1876 started. The causes of the war were numerous and each group involved as parties believed they were right. But to the Ijesas, we believed that the excesses of the Ajele (District Overseers) from Ibadan were too much for the Ijesas and Ekitis to bear. Rumour has it that one FABUMMI a great Ijesaman from Oke Imeji made the history factual. It was true that his wife (FABUMMI) prepared his lunch and was heading to his farm to give him, when the servants of Ibadan Ajele, attacked her and forced her to be molested openly by the Ajele. These actions of the Ibadan apart from being barbaric and rough were alien and taboos to the Ijesas, hence the beginning of the ugly war.

The Ijesas invited their people in Ekiti land like Aduloju Dodondawa, Falowo from Ekiti and host of other war lords. It was then they realized that without Ogedengbe the battle would not be won. The Ijesas contacted their Ifa oracle severally and it revealed on each occasions that it was only Ogedengbe who could conquer the Ibadans. Attempts were made to placate Ogedengbe to come back to Ilesa and help them fight the Ibadans. Ogedengbe did not take the emissaries serious because of the disappointments he had received from the powerful Ijesa High Chiefs. At long last, several rituals were prepared and sent to Igbara-Oke where Ogedengbe eventually conceded to head the Ekiti Parapo Arm. The man who took a white horse fully loaded with charms to Ogedengbe at Igbara-Oke was called Opiliki (aka) Asodedero.

It was when Ogedengbe arrived that the whole Ekiti believed that the Ijesas were actually serious to route out the Ibadans from their vicinity. Immediately Ogedengbe got to Imesi-Ile, he was appointed the “SERIKI MEYAKI” meaning the Commander-in-Chief or Generallissimo of the Ijesa / Ekiti Parapo forces or Army.

Ogedengbe announced the commencement of the battle. It was a fierce one, but after seven (7) weeks of fighting, the Ibadans became weary; and Ogedengbe advised them to send to Ibadan and fetch their war lord popularly called ‘Are Latosa’.

Are Latosa arrived for the Kiriji war and settled at Ikirun. He even boasted before leaving Ibadan that he would use only three (3) days to overrun the Ijesas on getting to the battle front, he invited Ogedengbe and reminded him of his (Ogedengbe) oath at Ibadan immediately after the Igbajo war. Ogedengbe rebuffed him saying he was fighting Ijesa National war.

It was then known that the Ekiti Parapo forces were fully prepared to capture alive the Are Latosa. The battle was time consuming, starting from the dawn to dusk.

When the Ibadans could no longer cope they started to hammer a slogan as thus: ‘Ilu Kereje a ta ni lofa, a ta ni lofa ara a ro ni koro’ meaning ‘Small towns with dangerous weapons to kill their opponents.

During the battle, the Ijesas whose enormous influence in West Germany had brought rifles and other sophisticated weapons from Itebu in Lagos to assist the forces. Notable amongst them were the Haastrups, Thompson Gureje and Turtons. Initially two (2) rifles were sent, but when they performed very well more rifles were brought; at the end of the war not less than eight hundred (800) rifles were used. The prices of these weapons were too enormous, that his slaves were sent to Lagos to liquidate the debts.

By 1884, the Ibadan troops were fidgeting, so from their Igbajo base, Are Latosa sent to Alaafin of Oyo to contact the residents of the colonial British Government, and find means of settlement because the Ijesas in alliance with the Ekitis generally are super difficult to succumb to the Oyos wishes. He said if care was not urgently taken, the Ijesas would ruin and destroy the Oyos powerful army.

Alaafin of Oyo, contacted the governor in Lagos who directed his resident at Oyo to wade into the communal conflict for immediate settlement. Captain Bower invited Ogedengbe and Are Latosa for a truce to the ugly war. Ogedengbe did not immediately agreed for settlement but after several pressures and persuasion from captain Bower he agreed for settlement.

Captain Bower then mentioned the emergency codes for the two (2) warring parties:-

1. No more fighting;
2. No more ritual killing or cannibalism
3. No more slave trade in Yorubaland

On the same date, Igbajo camp was destroyed and burnt, and eventually returned to Ibadan. No one could say if Aare Latosa returned to Ibadan because any war lost by the Aare of Ibadan would be the last outing for him in or outside Ibadan.

During the war, Ogedengbe Kept the Owa Obokun at Esa Oke while the Ekiti Obas requested Owa Obokun too to come to the battle front, but Ogedengbe technically told them to find another leader for the Ekiti parapo forces then his Owa would appear. They reasoned with him that the son could not be stronger than his father. It settled there.

OGEDENGBE IN HIS LATE YEARS

Ogedengbe finally returned to Ilesa after the Kiriji War. He settled peacefully but his forces popular called the Ipayes became pugilistics, unruly, uncontrollable and causing several threats to the Ijesas. Reports were made orally and openly to Ogedengbe but he could not control them, believing that they were the fingers that fed him during his travails. Efforts were made attempting to terminate his life but all end in failures. Then, the Ijesas reported him to the Resident at Oyo. It was during the reign of Owa Obokun Elere. The Owa Obokun hesitated in signing his petition to the Resident at Oyo, because he was the one who appointed and installed him when Ogedengbe refused to be installed as the Owa Obokun. Captain Bower came to Ilesa with twenty-one soldiers to arrest Ogedengbe. On the day he was arrested, there was a mild drama. Arimoro, one of the Ogedengbes lieutenants wanted to prevent Captain Bower to take Ogedengbe away. Captain Bower immediately drew the bayonet of his gun to strike him, immediately the bayonet broke into seven (7) pieces.

Ogedengbe then appealed to the Ijesas not to fight for him because the British Government would destroy Ilesa Town if only one of her citizen was killed.

The second drama on the same day was when they got to Osunjela, a boundary between Osogbo and Ilesa. It was very difficult to cross the river Osun, but surprisingly, Ogedengbe had crossed the river without any boat or helper with his white horse waging this tail to him. It was here that captain Bower realized the prowess of Ogedengbe as a great man.

On where Ogedengbe should be exiled he told them that the preferred any town in Yorubaland but not Ibadan but instead he preferred Iwo. Tolls were paid to see him because of their past conjunction with some Ijesas like Gureje Thompson have invade his ANAYE house and removed all the rifles he used at the war front and other valuables. When Ogedengbe heard this, he wept for the first (1st) time in his life, saying Ijesas were very difficult to curtail. There were even rumour that he cursed the progressives in Ijesaland.

Before his arrival, Owa Obokun Elere had died. Efforts were geared to select him for the second time to become the Owa Obokun, he equally refused.

HIS DEATH

Ogedengbe died in Ilesa in 1910 as the Obanla of Ijesaland. During his period his influence and affluence extended to Akoko in Ondo State; Ekiti land in Ekiti State; and towns like Owena, Ikeji-Ile, Arakeji, Ira, Ipetu Ijesa, Erin Oke and Erin Odo, Efon Alaye, Ido Ajinnare, Aramoko, Oke Mesi, Imese-Ile, Igbajo and Iresi to mention a few.

Seeing the support and cooperation of these numerous towns, he prayed that Ilesa and Ijesa would never witness any war AGAIN.

Before he died, two days to his demise, thunderstorms sounded three (3) times in the sky signaling the home-call of a great man. Owa Atayero invited him to appease the gods and goddesses of Ijesaland to avert the impeding problem but Ogedengbe told him that he was prepared to REST with his fore-fathers. He died peacefully with his children, Kith and Kin after advising them to be loyal, peaceful and law-abiding to all the rules and regulations of their fatherland. He appealed to them not to interfere with other Chieftaincies in Ijesaland and beyond except the Obanla of Ijesaland and if they followed their advice, love, prosperity and peace would dominate their lives.

• Jonathan Repeating Mistakes Of Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi In 1966, As Buhari/Boko Haram Zealots Plot To Kill Him—Reports

19 May 2012 written by Republic Report New York

New York [RR] ABUJA–New York [RR] New York—Exclusive bombshell revelation shows that the worsening security situation in the so-called Nigeria is pretty much worse than the 1966 crisis. Multiple sources reaching us indicate that Jonathan is repeating the same mistake made by late General Thomas Umunna-kwe Aguiyi-Ironsi in 1966 by surrounding himself with body-guards from Northern extraction. Our source said that Congress For Progressive Change (CPC) presidential Candidate and former military dictator, Mohammadu Buhari and his secretly supported Islamic fundamentalists terror group called Boko Haram is seriously plotting to kill Jonathan, intelligence sources disclosed to Republic Reporters, NYC.

It must be recalled that after 1966 coup, General Ironsi in Lagos and Ojukwu in the Kano mobilized the military to subdue the coup plotters. Shortly after Aguiyi-Ironsi surrounded himself by northern security Aides including JTY Danjuma against the warning from Odumegwu Ojukwu. Our source said Jonathan traveling around in these troubled location is no longer necessary, otherwise he will go the way of Aguiyi-Ironsi who was visiting western Nigerian at the time. If Jonathan wants to live, he should surround himself with Ijaw-Igbo security aides, or perish in the country’s widening crisis…”, it said.

Anonymous commentator said: “Jonathan and his team must plan for the rainy days; there must be plan B, plan C, plan D, plan E, including allowing SNC, Review of Aburi PACT, and disintegration, et al…”, reports added.

Meanwhile, another insider source knowledgeable with the security matters and bombings across the country said: “Buhari is in secret pact with Boko-Haram intended to make the country ungovernable since he cannot win any presidential election having tried three times 2003, 2007, 2011 respectively..”, the source said.

The source added: “Violent Buhari cannot win any election in Nigeria of today; it doesn’t matter if the election was rigged and/or free and fair, because Buhari and his supporters doesn’t have the infrastructure, forcing him to turn to violence and belligerency’.

“It must be recalled THISDAY was bombed because Buhari/Boko Haram and supporters think THISDAY is linked to influenced by the presidency during April 2011 presidential polls…as Thisday’s opinion poll gave Jonathan 63.6% and Buhari 25.9% toward the beginning of the presidential poll…”. This created enmity between THISDAY, CPC/Buhari till this day. In fact, our source said Buhari and their Sharia-Reporters/supporters are happy with THISDAY bombing couple of weeks ago.

It is important to state here and now to readers that this same Buhari has always been anti-press-freedom and freedom of speech. Sources said: “Buhari made a decree in 1983 and made a comment that all dogs found guilty will be punished…”. Afterwards one Bartholomew Owo’s case was revisited years after the crime he allegedly committed was discarded and set free from all alleged all charges, our source said. We gathered Buhari’s tribunal re-arrested him, found him guilty and sentenced to death, weeks later he was executed. But Buhari knew that Ibrahim Babangida was a drug trafficker but didn’t blink in any form to shape against IBB. IBB used drug-monies to buy brand-new Peugeot Cars to military officers to buy their loyalty; Buhari didn’t blink.

Curiously the same Buhari talks that election riggers should be lynched in pre-2011 presidential election, he equally made other inflammatory remarks similar to the aforementioned comment that is currently heating up the body politics. “The Dogs and Baboons will be soaked with blood come 2015..’. Commentators said indeed dogs and baboons including Buhari, Jonathan and others will be consumed in 2015 or even before it. Buhari and other political thieves in the country called Nigeria have failed in all ramifications, and as such will be retired again to the dust, they said.

Preye Douglas said: “”BLOODSHED” from a northerner is a CODED word for “MASSACRE” of Igbo people in the northern Nigeria. Boko Haram cannot venture in the Western Nigeria, whose governors cower to. They elected all Islamic governors and in constant close door meeting with the Sultan. ACN and CPC alliance is exposed. The next place they can venture is Eastern Region and Middle Belt. Buhari should know that he has judged himself by calling for bloodshed. Whose blood will be shed, it shall be his blood first, and he has called bloodshed for himself. As he asked for it so shall he get it.”, he said.

Perhaps our understanding is if he is actually referring to Bartholomew Owo’s tribe (NDI IGBO) or the southerners in general as dogs and Baboons. Shockingly the so-called Ohaneze-Ndi-Igbo, former President- General, Dr. Dozie Ikedife, said that Gen. Buhari was being unnecessarily vilified, noting that worse statements had been uttered by other people. This, he said, includes the “do or die” declaration by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Former President of the Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo Ikedife said: “It is necessary that we speak the truth and face the fact. Buhari should be praised for having the courage to say it the way he saw it and to sound a note of caution. And I want us to take that note of caution seriously.

“It is important that we evaluate the message rather than kill the messenger. His words are not worse than the man who declared that ‘this election is do or die’. I think what Buhari is saying is ‘don’t win by hook or crook and that they should allow the opinion of Nigerians to prevail.

“Any person who faults that should tell us what he wants Nigeria to look like. It is absolutely necessary. If we want to entrench true and proper democracy, it should be one man, one vote. Every vote should count and be accounted for.”

Curiously, Ikedife does not see Buhari as desperate for anything other than his yearning “for a peaceful Nigeria where true democracy thrives. And he should not be vilified.” Meanwhile on record, former Kaduna State governor, Alhaji Balarabe Musa said: “The controversy is unnecessary for two reasons. First, what Buhari said is what every other Nigerian has been saying about the need for free and fair elections. But because Buhari is a former head of State, more people react to whatever he says.

“Secondly, even President Jonathan had, in the past, made statements with far greater security implication than what we just heard. If a president said all public institutions have collapsed, isn’t that a serious statement with greater security implication?

“With regards to Boko Haram, if the President said Boko Haram has infiltrated all government agencies including the Presidency, is that not of greater security risk?

“Buhari wanted us to be mindful of the implications of rigged elections. If people have forgotten, it was what led to the unrest in the South West and eventually, the coup of the First Republic in 1966. It was also what led to the coup of the Second Republic. So what is wrong in any Nigerian warning against the dangers of rigged elections?

“All I can say is that there is a sinister motive behind the interpretation given to Buhari’s warning by the Presidency and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). “Finally, if people like Buhari and the media, who know more than we know; should keep quiet, what will happen to Nigeria? Won’t the situation get worse?”

To the contrary though, the founder of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Dr Fredrick Fasehun, as he said Buhari’s statement cannot be justified by any parameter. He accused the former military ruler of trying to cause the disintegration of Nigeria by carrying himself as if he were above the laws of the land. He cautioned him not to teach Nigerians how to disintegrate or dismembered.

“I personally believe that Buhari can’t be adjudged right by any parameter of reasoning. The statement is highly inflammatory and inciting,” he said.

“Buhari has continually carried himself as if he is above the laws of the land. That is why he says anything that comes to his mind without caring for the legal implication of such statements. In fact, I have been waiting for the security agencies to invite him and query him for such utterances that tend to teach Nigerians how to disintegrate.

“The other day he was invited to the Oputa Panel, but he refused to show up and nothing was done to him. Obasanjo, as the president of the country then, was there at the Oputa Panel. Nigeria is greater than him. He should not teach us how to disintegrate. This country will be handed over to the person who will hold it together in unity and peace. Winning elections cannot be by force of violence. He must know that.”

Former President General of Ijaw National Congress (INC) Prof. Kimse Okoko, described Buhari’s utterances as unstatesmanly….

He said: “It is rather unfortunate on the part of General Buhari that he could allow his emotion to becloud his sense of judgment. He has not behaved as a statesman, a former Head of State and a presidential candidate of a leading party in this country before.

“Already, there is too much bloodshed in the land. Of what need is his calling for more bloodshed. That statement is unstatesmanly. The truth of the matter is that Nigeria will not be ruled by anybody who is calling for bloodshed. He should be invited to explain whatever he meant. I don’t want to believe that he is already training an army somewhere that he would unleash on the country in 2015. It is a very unsavory statement.”

But Tim Onuigbo said: “Ndi IGBO should be very vigilant about those statements made because we are on our own. Stating that Boko haram is busy bombing and more than 75% of the victims are Ndi IGBO; Jonathan is busy talking nonsense; Patience is busy making grammatical….; PDP is busy planning how to rig 2015 election; Buhari is busy planning how to soak the dogs and the baboons with blood come 2015; Politicians are busy looting money; Police/Customs are busy collecting bribe; Kidnappers are busy kidnapping; Naira is busy declining and the country is busy collapsing…”, he said.

He advised Ndi Igbo to begin to think ahead for their territorial borders. “Ndi-Igbo should therefore be busy thinking on how to protect their territorial Boundaries come 2015”, he said. Nonetheless, we learnt the Federal government is planning to arrest Buhari and top shots of his supporters, but is monitoring the situation. Others say, the presidency is afraid of Buhari, others say Buhari is a spent force, dead wood, that needs be left alone to be soaked in his own “dogs and baboons bloodbath” predictions.

Nnamdi Kanu fires Radio Biafra broadcaster, Ekpa

July 22, 2021 in News, News Update

By Emma Elekwa, Onitsha
Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has relieved Mazi Simon Ekpa of his appointment as Biafra radio broadcaster over failure to follow laid down rules of operation.

In a statement by the Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, the group said Ekpa has refused to sign the rules of engagement and code of conduct guiding those broadcasting on Radio Biafra.

It wondered why he would not like to follow the steps of other broadcasters on the platform who have since done the needful.

The group however noted the decision to disengage Ekpa was not to ridicule him but to prove to all that due process could not be compromised in IPOB as a well-structured movement.

The statement reads in part: “The global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by our great leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has observed with regrets, that Mazi Simon Ekpa whom our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu gave an appointment and duty to start broadcasting on Radio Biafra doesn’t want to follow the laid down rules of operation in Radio Biafra.

“Our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu gave the directive while in detention but Mazi Simon Ekpa has refused to follow the principles.

“Mazi Simon Ekpa has refused to sign the rules of engagement and code of conduct guiding those broadcasting on Radio Biafra. We don’t understand why Mazi Ekpa would not like to follow the steps of other broadcasters on the platform who have since done the needful.

“IPOB is a big movement, and cannot just change the rules because of one individual as this may set a bad precedence.

“Mazi Simon Ekpa is hardworking Biafran whose immense contributions towards the restoration of Biafra are highly appreciated, but for not signing the code of conduct as a broadcaster on Radio Biafra, he may not continue to have the opportunity of broadcasting via the platform.

“This decision was not intended to ridicule or undermine anyone but to prove to all that due process cannot be compromised in IPOB. IPOB is a well- structured movement where activities of members are regulated with well-thought out rules. No one should act in a way that suggests that the laws are meant for certain group of people.

“While Mazi Simon Ekpa has the right to make his broadcasts on Facebook and other platforms of his choice, he may no longer broadcast on Radio Biafra as one of the official broadcasters.”

Politics / The Advantages Of Arresting Nnamdi Kanu! by tomakint: 12:29am On Jun 30, 2021
*THE ADVANTAGES OF ARRESTING NNAMDI KANU*.
By Frederick Odorige, GCSDN

I am not a fan of Nnamdi Kanu.
Now that he has been arrested, the killings by Miyetti Allah, Fulani herdsmen, Boko haram, bandits and unknown gun men will finally come to an end!
Food prices will drop drastically and a bag of foreign rice will become N5k.
Kidnapping for ransom will stop automatically.
Thievery Senators will no longer receive the highest in the world as we borrow to finance our national budgets.
Gladly, Nigeria's 20 million street children will now have a better life.
Our elections will no longer be rigged to the benefit of greedy and ritualistic politicians.
Now, thievery Senators and Ministers will no longer pad our budgets or appropriate official vehicles to themselves when they leave office. Nigerians in diaspora can now vote and participate in political governance, because Nnamdi Kanu has been arrested!
This government shall no longer borrow blindly and Amaechi will no longer buy refurbished trains at drastically inflated prices!

General Buhari and Pastor Osinbajo will no longer disobey court orders nor act in impunity.
Yes, EFCC will no longer be selective. They can now open Tinubu's bullion vans!
State governors will no longer steal security votes nor arm-twist local government councils.
Alas, so-called repentant terrorists will no longer be integrated into our midst.

Hurray, Kanu has been arrested; Nigeria is now free!

*ME:*
Day by day, most of you will come to the full realization that what we need is a massive revolution without recourse to ethnic and religious considerations. The solution is not in breaking Nigeria or fighting separately. The solution is in our collective voices and the ability to use the soles of our feets to march heavily along freedom road.

You will soon realize that with our huge numbers on the streets, we could peacefully close all offices, schools, markets, banks, airports, etc, until government accounts to us why we sold oil for 61 years and became the poverty capital of the world and third on the global terrorists index.

Those that have occupied public offices from 1999 till date owe us hugely. They must pay back, naira and kobo.
From that day on the streets, we shall have a brand new constitution and all that we need to be happy as a people. We have waited long enough!!
Our numbers on the streets shall be our weapons. No guns, no bullets; no burning of infrastructures, no killing and no shedding of the blood of our compatriots. They have killed us enough.

When the number of protesters far outnumber that of a dictatorial security forces, they drop their guns, pull their uniforms and join the protest. #EndSARS was indeed, a rehearsal.

In those days, we shall seize their jeeps and turn them to the ambulances they refused to buy for our hospitals. We shall seize their mansions and turn them into the schools and hospitals they refused to build.
The days cometh quickly when there shall be no flag of Oduduwa, Biafra, Bendel, Ibom, Middle belt, etc.
Together, with one voice, we shall fly the flag of we, the people!!

We must guickly call for 20 million of us on the streets. Not for one day or one week. We should remain on the streets until they answer and leave. The revolution is too ripe to ignore.
It shall be Revolution Without Ammunition!

This is not an ethnic battle.
One tribe cannot win the battle against these principalities and powers. Kill your fears and join.

ARISE OR CONTINUE TO COMPLAIN;
THE CHOICE IS OURS.
FREEDOM CALLETH FROM THE DEEP.

You just proved my point.
NIGERIANS are naturally dumb. Dialogue with who about my freedom?
Oga unlike you lots in Nigeria, we Ndigbo know our problem. We know who caused the problem and we are knocking at his door not our fellow inmates.
Yes inmates because you lots that feel like you are the ones holding imaginary group down are the most foolish set of humanoids that ever existed.
You are in the same mess or worse but you want and somehow manage to convince yourselves that you are the oppressors and are Shamelessly living the lie.
The person holding us in Nigeria is Britain that is why we are protesting in front of the White Hall day in day out. We are not protesting on the streets of Abuja or Lagos because we know that none of them hold the key but are actually our fellow inmates but unlike us, they love their chains probably because they have convinced themselves that they are worth nothing outside the Shameless comfort of the British Zoo called Nigeria.
They rely on the Zoo keeper (Britain) for everything and are scared to take the leap like Ndigbo

Don't mind that clown just ignore such comments next time, we have been on a useless system for the pasty 60 years all to no avail, yet a what a psycho can think of is to keep begging some set of worthless lowlives for their freedom? You can now see the real lunatic here....save your breath next time.

How The Separation of Singapore From Malaysia, Led to The Prosperity of Both Nations!

What happens when you colonize very smart people? The Japanese conquered Singapore during the second world war, this made it a Japanese colony briefly. But after Japan lost the war, Singapore was taken over by the British again.

The British merged them with their neighboring country Malaysia in 1963 in some sort of independence. So now the country of Malaysia had the Malaya's on one side and the Singaporeans on the other side.

Problems started immediately, ethnic tensions, racism, tribalism, and bloodshed shot through the roof.

In addition to that, their other more powerful neighbor Indonesia declared some sort of military war against them. Indonesia allegedly started sponsoring violence within Malaysia in such a way as to cause tension between them and China.

The Singaporeans protested that the constitution drafted for them at independence was very discriminatory; it gave some specific privileges to the Malays.

The Malays were in power but appeared to be generally not as educated as the Singaporeans, so from day 1 of the independence, they were concerned that the economic center of the country will eventually drift to the region of the Singaporeans.

The president of Malaysia being an intelligent man thought of a solution to this problem, one of the key Singaporean politicians convinced him that the best for their combined future is to split the country.

They both agreed but they had one more problem: the British. The British had merged them 2 years earlier, they may not allow them to break up. So what was their solution?

They selected top elected senators on both sides and put them in a super-covert meeting where they worked day and night to create massive changes in their condition such that it will allow their country to be split.

Why was it a secret meeting?

So that once they are done effecting their changes and executing their plan, they will present the British with what is now known as "fait accompli".

This simply means, "Boss, we have already split the country, sorry we didn't tell you on time, nothing else you can do".

On 9th August 1965, the Malaysian parliament which involved senators from both sides voted to let Singapore go. What was the vote count? 126 - 0, that is all the senators that voted that day, voted for separation.

That was how the republic of Singapore was created. After separation, much of the international media attacked Singapore, predicting that they will relapse into poverty and perish in penury.

Even though Singapore was a very poor country then, it had a very important resource: super-smart humans.

The very next month, they applied and joined Commonwealth nations.

To lift itself out of poverty, Singapore created an industrial estate in one of its towns called Jurong. Then day baited foreign investors with huge tax incentives.

This single-handedly transformed the nation's economy. Singapore has no natural oil deposits, to take advantage of the global oil boom, they managed to convince Shell and other big oil companies to build oil refineries in Singapore.

Singapore's next major problem was housing, it's people were very poor so they built small houses that were prone to fire.

To solve the problem, Singapore set up a housing development board, this board used money the government made to start building multi-level buildings.

The government then allowed its homeless citizens to own flats in these new buildings and pay in installments using their compulsory savings accounts.

The British pulled out their troops from Singapore in 1971, Singapore needed to build its army, so what did it do? It secretly contacted Israel and asked for help. Israel covertly helped them to establish their armed forces.

What was the result of all these fundamental changes?

Today, Singapore is arguably the best country in the world, their GDP per capita is $65,000.

In comparison, Nigeria's GDP per capita is $2,000, even as an oil-producing nation. Malaysia's GDP per capita is $16,000.

Religion / Re: My Take On The Doctrine Of Trinity And Those Saying Jesus Is God Almighty! by tomakint: 1:20am On May 03, 2021
Freeze007:

I am my power in a part of me, to show mightily how great I am in whom I choose to work through, does not mean that person is the Almighty God. One thing about God he desires not worship but chooses to elevate all his children including his word which was powerful to translate to actual existence in our Lord Jesus Christ. Be it as it may, this concept though is very deep but seemingly to the adherent heart the truth becomes plain. Let me give an illustration, one day, my dad called a negotiator who was willing to remit certain amount for my dads hotel after all said and done my Dad pointed at me in conclusion and said I was the owner.I did not build the building just my Dads words which must be held in high esteem.

Let us apply this analogy to the FORMER I just hope I have been able to pass a deep knowledge.

The beauty is this, Christ says I am not worthy yet his Father says no you are worthy to be a God. To these entities honour is given to the SUPREME but to the babes its an element of confusion, obviously, neither of them had written the scripture but were inspirators to the writers albeit their own understanding comes to play because they were not totally ripened to understand the BASICS that joins Almighty Father, Our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.. To be clear here I won't be regarded as committing heresy but be aware that the Bible is 100% loaded with errors we need GOD HIMSELF TO TEACH, CORRECT, all the mistakes of the past writers...He is Leader Olumba Olumba Obu already here on earth

Stop the blasphemy how can you be equating God Almighty a never dying God to an Olumba Olumba that had long died and now having his son reigning over his sect.....be guided man.

Politics / Can Nigeria Print Money To Solve Its Problems? by tomakint: 4:08pm On Apr 17, 2021
Can Nigeria Print Money To Solve Its Problems?

A thread:

1/31 The response can be both complicated and simple. But let’s use past experiences to provide some context.

2/31 History shows that the first World War was quite costly for the Germans. They had borrowed huge sums of money, banking that a victory would help them repay their debts.

3/31 But they lost the war. And instead of a victory, they were fined $270 billion (in today’s value) for causing the war. The German economy was a wreck. And to try and finance their debts and pay wages, the government decided to print money.

4/31 That was when everything changed, for worse.

5/31 The currency became worthless, Inflation rose by 10 trillion per cent in 1923. The price of bread went from 160 marks in 1922 to 200,000,000,000 marks by the end of 1923.

6/31 Germany eventually repaid debts with goods instead and despite many cancelled debts, they paid everything back in 2010—92 years later.

7/31 It’s not like printing money is new. Throughout history, central banks have always printed cash.

8/31 But their job is to control the money supply so that inflation does not spiral out of control like in Germany. Central banks achieve this by buying and selling short-term treasury bills, for instance.

9/31 But there are always outliers. In 1997, something changed. Someone was printing money specifically to boost their economy, not just to ensure people had enough banknotes. Japan was the culprit.

10/31 To boost the economy, the Bank of Japan (BOJ) printed money and bought billions of corporate (issued by businesses) debt and long-term government bonds. This is different from the normal buying and selling of treasury bills we discussed above.

11/31 The bank was printing new money and buying assets to reduce interest rates across the board—from government rates to business ones. When central banks buy many bonds, their demand goes up and their interest rate falls.

12/31 In Nigerian terms, it’s like the CBN saying “we are not currently concerned with what the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) is doing. We want to print money and directly reduce the cost of borrowing for the government and businesses like Dangote cement by buying their debt”.

13/31 This was the first time this tactic, known as Quantitative Easing (QE), was deployed. So when Japan adopted this tactic in 1997, many expected that the policy would cause inflation to spiral. But it didn’t.

14/31 And so in 2007, when the financial crisis hit, central banks immediately adopted Japan’s strategy. The Bank of England, the European Central Bank, and The US Federal Reserve, all started large sums of quantitative easing programmes.

15/31 It worked, and again, inflation did not rise. And when the pandemic hit last year, central banks across the world did QE again.

16/31 However, the US and Nigeria have very different economic structures. In America, big corporations have a significant influence on the economy.

17/31 Amazon has over one million employees, and Apple has annual revenues of $260 billion improving the cost of borrowing of these firms can indeed stimulate the economy.

18/31 Nigeria, on the other hand, does not have companies that are as influential with enough employees or revenue to significantly affect the economy if the CBN decided to support.

19/31 So the CBN invented its own type of “quantitative easing”. Instead of printing money to buy corporate debt (like the US did), thereby reducing their borrowing costs, the apex bank prints money and lends it to entire sectors.

20/31 Unsurprisingly, the first area of focus was agriculture. Emefiele and team launched the anchor borrowers program (ABP) where the CBN effectively gave farmers single-digit loans instead of the 20%+ loans they faced in banks.

21/31 This policy has the same effect as if the CBN bought corporate bonds from farmers, which would have led their borrowing costs to also fall.

22/31 The initial loans for the ABP was ₦40 billion, but the CBN has now spent over ₦200 billion on loans to one million farmers.

23/31 The more they borrow, the more they have to sell loans; otherwise, the money supply would increase and cause more inflation. This can also explain why they introduced new OMO bills.

24/31 In general, the CBN has gone about disbursing loans without too much pushback. That all changed when the CBN started printing money for the government.

25/31 Estimates from the World Bank, IMF, and Fitch put the total amount the government borrowed from the CBN in 2018 at around ₦1 trillion. By 2019, over ₦3.6 trillion was printed and lent to the government.

26/31 The government is doing this to skip over the domestic borrowing limits and hurdles in our legislation. Technically, this process is known as a Ways and Means facility (WMF), and there are also rules on how it should be done.

27/31 For example, the CBN’s guidelines say that Ways and Means should not exceed 5% of the previous year’s fiscal revenues, but we reached the 80% mark last year.

28/31 It’s also supposed to be temporary, and the government has to pay it back within a year. But as you can imagine, we haven’t stuck to the guideline. Last year, the government paid back ₦912 billion—9% of the outstanding CBN debt that has accumulated.

29/31 But, what is the way out of this debt?

30/31 The federal government says it plans to securitise the debt. This basically means it will repackage the loans and sell them to private investors, so the CBN is paid back, and the government will pay back the investors.

31/31 Doing this would make the loans more legitimate and ensure that the government indeed pays back. It’s a smart move, and hopefully, the government would follow through with the plan.

Our stories help you understand Nigeria’s economy.

What Baba Adeboye Saw About The 2019 Presidential Elections And Why He Couldn't Avert The Incoming Evil!

The book, Open Heavens, launched by Baba Adeboye in the year 2000 had been one of my favourites of his publications, why? Baba will always dig out his dark secrets of the past to teach, instruct, correct, educate and edify many of its readers in order for them to seek repentance and enjoy the bliss of being genuine children of God. There is no doubt about it that Baba Adeboye is one of the few men of God that still hears directly from God Almighty and had given countless prophecies of National recognition that had come to pass, notably among such was his prophecy that Obasanjo will not only be voted into power in 1999 but this same Obasanjo will end up winning his second term which came to pass. Below is one of his quotes in his book, Open Heaven, for our perusal and contributions.

"Sometime ago, there were two major candidates running for the office of the President in Nigeria and both were Muslims. During a meeting of the Nigerian Pentecostal Preachers, the matter was raised as to who we should encourage Christians in Nigeria to vote for. When asked for my opinion, I said "God has already told me the result of the election. God said the fellow who will win the election will be the loser and the one who will lose the election  will be the winner". So, I didn't bother my members as to who to vote for and when things eventually began to play out in the country, I was relaxed because I already had the information ahead of time." - Pastor E.A Adeboye, 2021 Open Heavens Manual, Volume 21, Topic: Do Not Despise Prophecies 1, March 30

Reading through the above quotes from our own Baba Adeboye yesterday, Saturday 6th March, got me wondering and made me fear God the more. I am sure judging by the prophecy here you will agree with me that this was clearly the 2019 election between Buhari (the true loser of the election) and Atiku (the true winner of the election). The question now is, why did God allow the "loser of the election to be the winner and the winner of the election to be the loser"? The truth is, He is God and no man has the right to query His judgment. He knew what Buhari is capable of doing and turning Nigeria into as we can see clearly today, yet, he allowed him to emerge the winner or let me say the riggers and manipulators of that election to have their ways. The answer is not far fetched, pick up your Bible and flip to the book of 2 Kings chapter 8 verses 7 to 13 you will see the story of a certain Hazael (this is representing Buhari) and how he became King of Syria through the prophecy given to Prophet Elisha (representing Baba Adeboye) and why Prophet Elisha could not force God to stop Hazael from becoming King because of his wicked plans the moment he will emerge a King as clearly spelt out in verse 12 "And Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel (you can put Southern Nigeria here): their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child." So great minds, it is very clear that when a Nation has strayed away from God and involve in many diabolical things and tread the ignoble path of abominable sins as Syria, God will hand such a Nation to wicked rulers. Little wonder Baba Adeboye refused to meddle in the build up to the 2019 election between Buhari and Atiku, because Baba would have perhaps engaged God on "why would the loser emerge the winner and the winner emerge the loser" and God must have insisted He wants to bring out something out of this. Let's trust God for the best and just judgment soon.

However, it is never too late to avert the influx of dangers lying ahead and prevent more bloodshed. This is where corporate prayers from Christians come into play, we can pray down the mighty hand of God of war to end and bury this demonic and evil government of Buhari by firstly acknowledging our ways as sinners before God and begging for His mercies so that our prayers against this evil government can be speedily answered once and for all. We must also table our requests before God as many Nigerians of different tribes and races are considering separation from this contraption so that we can have our peace once and for all.

Bear it in mind that I predicted on this street that this year will be a year of judgment against our tormentors by God Almighty!
