You still have safety and the others to contend with. For a storey building or two, most clients won't go through this process involving 3mil when less payment could be done locally

Politics / Re: Why Buhari did not Implement Orosanye Report - Ex-Minister, Adebayo Shittu by tommy589(m): 9:13am On Mar 09
If it's not in Orosanye report we need to include additional.
It should extend to National and State Assemblies. Special Advisers, Special assistants and the rest should not be exempted too because it has to go round.
We need to prune governance and avoid duplication of duties, not only in civil service

The mainland as only marginally improved, that's the truth,if you want to be honest

Of what benefit is it to me if I am not honest about the environmental improvement compared to the past.
People no longer encounter night soil men going about in daytime with bucket filled with shyte

Maybe you have a set standard in mind. But those numerous management and enforcement agencies are not doing bad

SoNature:
The problem of Lagos State is overpopulation. The island is much decent because the cost of living around there is high. Despite that, you will see a bunch of homeless people overrunning pedestrian overpasses the next day after its commissioning.

However, the solution is simple. Tinubu should work with Akpabio to restructure the country so as to reduce migration to Lagos. It's as though all the jobs in Nigeria are in Lagos. That is, you must live in Lagos to make it in life. That's not how to plan a country.

Tinubu and his group of Lagos politicians are moving important government institutions and departments to Lagos, thereby worsening the situation. Decentralise the country. Instead of concentrating everything in few places, spread them to bring about widespread development across the country.

APC should be sincere with its leadership in Lagos so that they don't need any area boys to rig elections for them in the future. This is understandably why they support a lot of thugs and don't want to rehabilitate them.

What I find particularly disturbing is that many tourists visit Lagos and use Lagos to form their opinion about the country without knowing that there are much saner parts of the country. They see Nigeria through Lagos' lens. Those foreigners who visit Lagos don't have good things to say about the country. I saw one shouting that everywhere smells in Nigeria after visiting Oshodi!

I have a lot of write, but I don't want to write more than this.

If time travel is possible I would take you back in time to see Lagos of 70s and 80s.

Homelessness and overpopulation is to see able bodied people making under bridges their homes. Is it demarcating roads with waste or making side walks refuse dump you want to wake up daily to see?

Though it fall short of expectations but it is way better than the past

CountinBlessins:

Exactly!! alot of coys like Dangote were engaged in unethical anti progressive practices. Tell me if Dangote was so good to our economy , he has been running a government backed monopoly on sugar and cement for decades , why dont we have a sugar cain plantation? why dont we have billionaire farmers who made billions from selling sugar to dangote for decades? are you seeing it clearly?

People like Dangote are a danger to Nigeria and her economy! Dangote used hois fulani cabal backed monopoly to excavacte and evicerate the Nigerian economy and people while enriching the countries they imported from while answering the name Local business mongul.

Where are the farmers who have been making billions from selling sugar from their plantation to dangote to make sugar for decades? where are the salt billionaires he made who ahve been selling salt raws to him to refine into trable salt for decades?

While i am angry with Tinubu, if only you know what the fulani cabal used dangote to do to the Nigerian economy for decades you will know why the conomy is this terrible. Lok no further than the Fulani cabal, unfortunately Tinubu realized this too late. He taught the fulani were his friends, remember the fulani and yoruba are one mantra? Tinubu came to power using the igbo hate as his moto

You started well but portraying tribes different from yours as bad makes your contribution bias

Culture / Re: Egusi Belongs To The Yoruba People by tommy589(m): 10:15am On Mar 03
RealSleek:
There are several online debates on the origin of egusi soup. Some yorubas said its from their side, the east said its theirs..that the name is actually called egwusi even the middle belters are not left out in the debate.
So today I was reading a book, HISTORY OF THE YORUBA PEOPLE by REV. SAMUEL JOHNSON written in 1897 but published in 1921 and a portion speaks on the crops grown in the yoruba country at the time. And egusi is one of them. Which proves beyond doubt that the word egusi is native to the Yoruba country.

I also learnt groups of Yoruba natives have the earliest access to western education since late 1800s, a group which the writer Rev. Samuel Johnson and his brother ,Dr. O Johnson belong to.
So with proof, egusi is not egwusi and it belongs to the Yoruba people. Periodt!

A good read

Politics / Re: "Let Nations Die That Humanity May Live": Soyinka Advocates Decentralisation by tommy589(m): 8:24pm On Feb 29
kikake:
European politicians were not stupid after the fall of the Berlin Wall when they tactically supervised the dissolution of nearly all the multi cultural, multi religious and multi ethnic countries that once existed in Europe, because Europeans got to understand that such countries never thrive due to the centrifugal forces acting on such countries.

Nigeria's politicians, especially from the south, know that Nigeria will NEVER thrive, but the sharia states tell them that Nigeria is an indivisible country. Whereas the Sharia states had since 1999 drawn the boundaries of their Arewa Islamic Republic but still clutch to dysfunctional Nigeria because of what they see as lucre in the south of Nigeria.
Save the humanity in Nigeria by disruption of the impossible country, Nigeria.

40 years ago decentralization would have been meaningful. What we have today are governors etc. that bought their way to power. Just tell me two distinguished governors you know since 1999 compared to the worst governor of Second Republic. Allowing fiscal autonomy for LG is nil and you expect dividends of democracy from these generation of very corrupt mini dictators
