InvestmentRe: Online Trading In Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) by TopAnalyst(m): 4:35pm On Feb 26, 2013
Presently, the answer is NO - online trading is not possible.
However, the NSE is working on a new trading platform (known as XTREME) due to be launched middle of this year (2013) that would enable online, realtime, remote trading.

Technology MarketRe: Where Can I Repair A Plasma Tv by TopAnalyst(m): 1:41pm On Dec 23, 2012
seal777: If you need to get the plasma done without stress, your best bet is to call the following numbers and a trial will convince you.

Money back guarantee.

Call sunny on 08023169149, 07066472001.
Please beware of this guy called Sunny (08023169149, 07066472001). He is not a good technician and has a very bad customer service attitude - he ignores calls and frustrates you with different lies before you can get hold of him.
He did a very bad job on my Plasma TV and even complicated the initial problem after collecting N17,000 from me.
He signed a repair warranty paper which he didn't honour.
The “MONEY BACK GUARANTEE CLAIM” is a big lie!
My best advice is to take your electronic gadgets to the Manufacturers repair center.
PLEASE BEWARE!

atilla: Hi TopA

Please what's your advice on the three stocks below

Vita foam
Oando
And international breweries.

Thanks
You may want to avoid Oando for now until after their planned Rights Offer because more volume issued will diminish the share price. As for Vitafoam and International Breweries, they're ok but make sure you have a diversified portfolio so as to give you some rest of mind

courage89: While i agree with you that UBA is a good stock to hold for the next 1 year based on their strong PBT and PAT, and also based on reduction of bad assets from their balance sheet. My question is how is the Virgin Nigeria loan exposure going to affect UBA FY PAT and share price going forward? Plus, with the exposure in mind, would you still pick UBA ahead of Access, GTB, First Bank and Zenith at their current prices?
I'm an advocate of a well diversified portfolio and as such, i won't advice that you buy just any single one of those Tier-1 bank stocks into your portfolio but a good mix of upto 2 or 3 of them depending on your choice.
On the loan aspect, I don't want us to get agitated about the Virgin Nigeria exposure because the Newly Revised Prudential Guideline takes good care of loan provisioning - even for the best performing ones. However, we should also be mindful that the subject matter of the facility (the Aircrafts, etc) and other collateral are still in good shape and will provide a fairly good cover for the loan. (These are my personal opinions)

Frustrated man!!!
Don't make a false allegation that you can't substantiate. This is an open forum and anyone who has been defrauded is free to come here and post a comment. It's a market place and you have to learn how to honourably walk away when you can't strike a deal with a seller.
You have the right to fix your price just as I have the right to fix mine - so I don't understand your problem.

PoliticsRe: Reps Reject 25%, Insist On 7.5% Pension For PHCN Workers by TopAnalyst(m): 12:23pm On Oct 27, 2012
untainted: Guys please do a little research;
Before the new pension Act 2004 came into force, staff of NEPA
contributed 25% of their earnings as pension savings.
Even after 2004, they did not join the contributory pension scheme.
I think there are other agencies that manage their pension themselves.
Now FG wants to dispose of the company; What do you think should be done?
Did you missed the following in your "research"huh

"....The unions claim that 25 per cent is being deducted from their salaries towards the payment of their pensions and gratuity Is not true as no deduction is being affected from the workers’ salaries,” the BPE added. The BPE said the 25 per cent pay was a “mere provision by the management of the PHCN towards funding the superannuation fund with no physical deduction reflected in the pay slip of any employee of the company and as such, it noted that the claim by the unions could not be correct.

The government pension position for PHCN, according to the BPE is as follows: terminate the NEPA/PHCN Superannuation Fund Scheme as at june 30, 2004 and implement the transitional provisions of the Pension Reform Act (PRA) 2004; the government shall transfer accrued rights of staff as at June 30 2004 to their Retirement savings Account (RSA); and the government will provide 7.5 per cent minimum employer contribution on active employee monthly emoluments from July 1 2004 to June 30, 2012....."

Ozonna: Inasmuch as I hate Reps with a passion, I stand with them on this matter. Infact if I'm a Rep member and GEJ pays these PHCN pple 15%, I'll raise a motion of impeachment against GEJ. Its an impeachable offence to pay others 7.5% and PHCN workers will get 15-25%.
I agree with you 100%.
Which PHCN staff are we talking about? Have they suddenly become that important that anyone thinks they deserve our sympathy?
Now the tide is turning and they are crying like babies.

The law is VERY CLEAR on Contributory Pension Scheme - 7.5% from Employees and 7.5% Employers' contributions. How then can anyone encourage the lawmakers and the Presidency to contravene/break the same law which they made and which is applicable to everyone in the country.
Let us do away with sentiments and argue on this matter objectively

feelamong: So my Oga, does this translate to a buy or sell of this giant with clay feet?
Undoubtedly it is a buy call. The PBT and PAT growth is a very good indicator. We should also note that the company has suffered a lot of haircuts and provisions to get to where they are today. the future is bright and at a price hovering around N5.00, it a good bargain to hold for the next 365days. thanks
PoliticsRe: Pls Stop Paying Nepa Bills by TopAnalyst(m): 6:02pm On Oct 25, 2012
PHCN surviving firms (the DISCOs and GENCOs) have all been sold to private investors and i don't see why anyone should keep paying the fools at the PHCN district offices for their so called estimated bills.
We hope the private guys will do something more sensible and review all the crazy bills and reconcile them based on meter readings.
I shockingly got an estimated bill of N17,000 in respect of September consumption when in the past i pay bills of N3,500 monthly.
I have gone to their office severally and they have not been helpful, to say the least.
This time around, i am waiting for the final layoffs of the remaining fools in PHCN in order to pave way for more sensible and competent private hands.
I don't feel any pity for these guys because they are part of an entity (NEPA/PHCN) that has brought hardship on Nigerians over the past years. tongue tongue tongue
