salford1: According to wife;
Federal: Evaluating exam - 2days, and Qualifying Exam: Part I: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Part II: Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).max 3 attempts at each.
Provincial: Ielts academic, Internship (applicant would need to apply for job posting for interns), and Jurispundence. Length/requirements of internship and level of difficulty of jurispundence exam vary across provinces.
I believe it took her between 2 to 3 years. She attended a bridging program too. The bridging program helped in connecting her with other IPGs, and they were able to form study groups. Some bridging programs are not free (10k to 15k) while some are also free. She attended the bow valley free bridging program in Calgary. You have to research bridging programs available in your province of choice. Some bridging programs are mandatory depending on province.
Textbooks includes Compendium of Pharmaceuticals and Specialties, Compendium of Therapeutic Choices, Compendium of Therapeutics for Minor Ailments, and Comprehensive Pharmacy review. She also used past questions from an author called Dr. Misbah. She attended another program (pharm achieve) for the OSCE. It's a 2 or 3 day tutorial program (cost around $5k).
She mentioned that over the years, review guides has changed since she got her license. So you might want to double check with someone presently taking the exams. This is where the study groups and bridging classes come in to lead you in the right direction.
All in all. One needs to be dedicated to clear the exams and all other requirements. Thank you so much for this reply. The requirements and the textbooks still remains same. Dedication and hard work is key! The exam is energy and mentally draining . |

StNonsky...I read on another forum recently about an application dat was rejected mainly because d pharmacist did ECA with WES instead of PEBC just cos of d same reason u just posted (D person even stated dat he/she doesn't intend practising as a pharmacist at all )....It's stated clearly on cic website irrespective of whether u do not intend sitting fr d licensure exams |

@ Bumdesh......D 475 crs score you have presently is because u applied as single cos you loose 30 points as a married PA in which ur spouse is expected to make up for by doing ECA AND IELTS...if you accept ITA now with the 475. ..you cannot include your spouse in d documents u will submit to apply fr PPR becos u filled in ur profile as being single...you can only apply fr her after u must have gotten ur PR which is a very long and obviously time consuming process. The reasonable alternative I can advise is fr u to decline d ITA for now....update ur profile As being married or better still delete and create another profile....you can still fill in ur details only for now , reenter the pool and leave the column of spouse's ielts and ECA which can be added once she gets it done. .ur Crs will drop to 445 (u may even be lucky to get get ITA if crs comes down), while your wife starts her ECA and writes ielts..this alternative is far far better than having to land alone post PR and filing for your wife...it is less time consuming and it saves u a lot of headache...all da best |
