Is it preferable to run electrical wiring before installation of pop ceiling?

If your place is secured you can do that.. But you get all windows including burglary and the all the entrance doors fixed.. If the place is not secure or having doubting mind you can pull only the lighting cables and tell the pop installer not to expose or bring them down during their own installation.

Electrician will do the necessary thing during markings and installation of light fittings

I think you guys are missing the point of the discussion or you are avoiding the facts.

The discussion is not IF SOLAR SYSTEM WORKS.

It is a widely known fact that solar system works.

The discussion is AT WHAT BUDGET CAN A FAMILY HOME GO COMPLETELY OFF GRID RELYING COMPLETELY ON SOLAR SYSTEM.

Complete off grid means the system can power ALL A/Cs at home simultaneously, pump water, do clothes ironing etc at all times of the day. In short; do all family home activities like it would be on national grid.

If that budget is close to 40 million as was previously mentioned, then solar is just a compromise for the average family home. It is not the energy solution yet for families up and down the country. Homeowners must be aware of this before pumping money into a bottomless pit.

Family can go completely off grid if they the fund to spend Solar sir... A lot family both Lagos and outside Lagos are completely off grid. I was in Kano today and I saw a particular house powered by Solar, there is an AC in the house. If you want to enjoy solar, you must get the design and load schedule right from initial stage and allowed little variance incase of future. Get the quality solar inverter including batteries and panels

the problem with solar and majority of the projects in Nigeria is that people don't know exactly what they want.

They be like "my budget is 3ml" and hunger dey. Vendor will collect your budget and then deliver what he can for you. You go on and suffer the consequences.

Before you go solar, find out what energy requirements and consumption is. You then decide if you want to go off-grid or you want it just for the night. Then choose the right products and supplier

Another very good point

Like I always say, buying low grade items and expect a long lasting solution is not possible. For example, we have a lot of LED Light in market and if you are not very careful you will buy avery low grade that will not serve you up a two month. I had an experience sometimes back with one of our brother from East. He gave me 2 items of the same name and said one is fake and the other one is original. He gave me fake as original and original as fake.. Bring my an experience person in electrical field. I picked the original which he called as fake product, it was a drama that day because their prices are not the same..

This guy said the one I picked is the original and told me I must pay for original.

There are alot of things to consider when yselecting the inverter capacity;
- Total load - this total load will determine the size of your inverter equipment.
-Autonomy: This will determine number or capacity of battery, number of panels.
All these can be calculated. We have a lot of solar inverter, solar panels and batteries in the market. The problem we are facing in this country is that Nigeria has no regulatory body., our SON(Standard Organisation of Nigeria) is not working. They have turned this country to dumping ground.

Boss if you are having doubting mind about the transactions you can pause a bit until you have a green light.. I have never in my life collect money for cables and fail to deliver.. If you are in Lagos I can do pay on delivery.. I have people owing me here but I will continue praying for them to pay my balance..

You are using the wrong AC, I got an Inverter AC today 1,5hp, it cost 500K buying and installing, Hisense its called, It works with very low current and requires no Stablizer, this one works well with Solar,Its just more expenssive.

The guy need to be educated on solar power installation

calm boss when last did you use an atm in this Nigeria let alone one with a working ac. Way back like 3years ago when some atms were quite functional they don’t work untill 9am when banking operations begins. Boss u really underrate the power ac draws, i had to run a direct connection from the phase supply to my house differently for my 3acs coz the current was affecting everything else and that is the current you are counting on a couple of pannels to deliver. Or should we talk about the effects batteries on human health as well? A guy on TikTok said whenever he’s passing close to the batteries he experienced severe headaches, no him alone his family. Haa

I have done electrical installation for banks and all their ATM machines are always on inverter.
Have you experience power outage during transactions on ATM before? don't discourage people with the issue you have with your own step up... There is calculation for everything in solar system. Don't just jump into it without knowing your total load. There also calculation for number of battery, number of solar panels and rating of the inverter equipment..

exactly my point. like i said it is a rat race but solar installers will intentionally hide that information and am yet to find a bank that runs their acs on solar, i ve been inside banks where power goes off and all acs turns of until they turn on their generator, only the lights remain on which is connected to the solar.

Banks connected all their ATM, AC in the ATM gallery and all their Extra low voltage(ELV) system to inverter. All the their teller counter socket points, mercury light and some selectected sockets within the banking Hall to inverter..

There is critical need for expertise and high-quality components in designing and installing solar solutions.

You are right with information above... How can you install 3KVA inverter to power AC plus other light, fridge etc and you are expecting a smooth running without any issue... Use your normal generator at home as an example.. Can you load your 3KVA generator with AC, light, and other equipment without any issue.. A lot of people design without considering sTARTING CURRENT and RUNNING CURRENT..

Have you not observed how the rooftop of most banks are covered with solar panels in recent times? They are known for their plenty "chilly" ACs and several computers. I believe the solar system must be serving them.

Some filling stations are using solar for their operations. If you are familiar with Lagos city very well, there is total filling station along bank Anthony way ( Close to Sheraton Hotel), they are using solar for their operations. The roof is totally covered with panels..

The man said 12numbers 1.5hp AC, 2numbers 2hp AC and60pcsi of 6w LED light... Solar inverter is going to be more efficient compare the cost of diesel and electricity tariff now. The initial cost might be much but in the long run solar inverter will give you rest of mind if the properly calculated

It was because of the type of equipment you got. People have been using AC with solar effectively.

Many people are going off grid these days.. While some are connecting their equipment on solar because of electricity tarrif. Solar is like a mini generating Station. With the lithium battery now you can be safe if your load is properly calculated

to power ac jut forget about solar my friend. It have never worked not even usa occupants, solar batteries are terrible for motor compressor loads don’t let anyone fool you tha t they can work.

The ACs are inverter.
It's a hall, about 5 sockets will be connected.
The POP light is about 6watts.
No borehole will be connected to it.

Based on my calculations here, you might likely need up to 18Kva inverter system to power these items. Attached is the load calculation based on information provided.

Is your 1.5hp AC an inverter AC , also what is the average wattage of the pop light? Do you you have plan to have borehole or any pump on it. What of TV points/sockets?

The price of granite depend on your location. Even in Lagos price vary. But 1million for 30ton is way too high anyway. Mainland should be around 380-410k for 20ton

Depends on individual taste for light fittings, switches and socket. A client spent almost 3m to buy just switches, socket and light fittings in one of our on-going project.
