Celebrities › ‘Nothing on earth can stand as a gift more special than you’ - Alex tells Tobi by ToriBaze(op): 9:06am On Jun 01, 2018 |
Source: ToriBazeBig Brother Naija housemate, Tobi turned a year older today and his love interest, Alex has already penned down heartfelt birthday shoutout to him. Alex who prayed for Tobi, also added that ‘negativity will run far from him’. Though we don’t we don’t know if this is a shade, however the post reads in full; Nothing good comes easy. This dawned on me when I remembered we had our first long discussion with our eyes covered. Knowing you has taught me a lot and I’ll forever be grateful. Ups and downs I have faced in life but you added to those people that made the recent ones easy. Taking a step backwards before any decision is one thing you always tell me. You make me strong whenever I feel like giving up. Only 174 days since we met and it feels like I have known you all my life. I have been looking for a befitting birthday gift but to no avail which is explainable. There is nothing on earth that can stand as a gift more special than you and I can’t buy you a you. You have taught me that the whole world might be against me but I should always stand for the truth. The knowing of Tobi is the beginning of wisdom. You are a whole lot of work and currently one of the most annoying people I have which makes you part of my family. The world is not ready for you. In you I found a friend to cry with and laugh with,In you I found home,in you I found peace of mind. As you add one year today, May God bless you abundantly. May good things be your portion. May negatively run away from you. Your future is brighter than the sun. Like I always say,Tobi, your happy smile is amazing. Fine boy physically and at heart, thanks for dealing with all my bullshit and trouble. I can never ask for a better friend. I have the king of the best. Education › FUTA Develops Solar Powered Generator by ToriBaze(op): 8:06am On Jun 01, 2018 |
Source: ToriBazeThe Centre for Renewable Energy Technology, CRET, of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA, has developed solar-powered generators called FUTA Solar Box I and FUTA Solar Box 2.
While presenting the generators to FUTA’s management led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Joseph Fuwape, Director, CRET, Professor Olurinde Lafe, represented by the Associate Director, Professor Moses Awodun, said the idea behind the generator was to alleviate the energy challenge being experienced by Nigerians. According to him, Box 1 with a capacity of 120w and which comes at a cost of N65,000 with the solar panel and installation, is targeted at students and other low income earners, while the Box 2, which is 200w costs N110,000 with panel and installation; targeted at staff and medium income earners. While explaining the components and functionality of the power generators, the Project Officer, CRET, Mr. Adekunle Adefela, said the solar boxes are cost effective with no maintenance fee. Commissioning the generators, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Fuwape, commended the CRET team for its ingenuity, noting that opportunities abound at FUTA and that since renewable energy is a major way out of the challenging energy need, CRET which also operates from a Net Zero building that generates its own electricity, is on the right track. http://toribaze.com/naija-news/futa-develops-solar-powered-generator/Lalasticlala, Mynd44, MissyB3, Fynestboi

Politics › Joining Apc’ll Not Save You, Presidency Taunts Corrupt Politicians by ToriBaze(op): 6:53am On Jun 01, 2018 |
Source: ToriBazeEmbracing All Progressives Congress, APC, will not save corrupt politicians, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, warned, yesterday. Responding to the jailing of former Taraba State governor, Mr. Jolly Nyame, by a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory headed by Justice Adebukola Banjoko on Wednesday, Onochie warned that the sentence had aptly demonstrated that the APC is not a haven for criminals. Onochie in a posting on her certified facebook page also taunted the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which she said was unable to jail the former governor. She said: “For seven years under the PDP-led government, Ex-Gov. Jolly Nyame stood at the door steps of justice. “Then he defected to APC, and in three years, Honourable Justice Adebukola Banjoko led him to the bowels of justice, giving the people of Taraba the justice they deserve. This is a clear signal that the war on corruption is in full swing. “It’s evidence that our laws can reach everywhere. This is a clear evidence that APC is not a hiding place for those who have questions, criminal questions to answer. The long arm of the law will grab all those who believe that by joining APC, they are washed clean. APC is not a harbour for those running from the law. “It’s a victory for all law-abiding citizens of this nation and hope for all those wards, local government areas, states, constituencies and senatorial districts where their elected leaders and representatives have betrayed their trust by going to, and staying in bed with corruption and impunity. “We must thank this worthy judge who withstood all forms of pressure and inducements from corrupt lawyers and godfathers. Honourable Justice Adebukola Banjoko is a shining example of a judge in the criminal justice system that is slowly but surely, emerging in our nation. “The days when justice is for sale, are coming to an end. The days when only the poor gets punished for crimes are nearly over.” “Our laws are gradually coming after only those who abuse them. Our nation is on the mend. “I don’t know about you but I’m mighty glad to be alive to see these beautiful days in our nation. “I’m also glad that I’m part of the greater Nigeria, making corruption a thing of the past.” http://toribaze.com/naija-news/joining-apcll-save-presidency-taunts-corrupt-politicians/Lalasticlala, Mynd44, MissyB3, Fynestboi

Celebrities › Nollywood Star, Tonto Dikeh Donates Relief Items To Prison Inmates by ToriBaze(op): 1:55pm On May 30, 2018 |
Source: ToriBazeAbuja – Ace Nollywood actress and humanitarian, Tonto Dikeh, has donated food items and other relief materials, including money to inmates during a goodwill visit to Suleja Prisons in Niger State. Tonto-Dikeh The actress said on the sideline that the gesture on Tuesday was an initiative of the Tonto Dike Foundation(TDF), geared towards identifying with the inmates in celebrating the 2018 Democracy Day. According to her, the Foundation, which is her humanitarian initiative, empowers and provides succour to the less privileged and vulnerable Nigerians. “In line with our vision, I have come here to let the inmates know that we are not giving up on them, and that they have a bright future ahead outside of this place. “Whatever happens, they are still Nigerians, and needed to know that today is our Democracy day, and being made happy. “They still have a lot to contribute to the society irrespective of their present circumstances,” she said. The items handed over to the prison authority on behalf of the inmates by the foundation include bags of rice, detergents and other food items, as well as physical cash of N300,000. Tonto Dike also paid for the release of an inmate who has remained in detention because he was unable to provide the said bail term. Besides, on request by the inmates, she promised to provide Television set and a decoder and ceiling fans for the Christian’s hall of worship in the prison, as well as sewing machines for the inmates. The foundation also donated dozens of sanitary pads to the female inmates for proper menstrual health management. Volunteer medical and public health experts of the Tonto Dikeh Foundation had interactive sessions with them, where they were given opportunities to ask questions on female health. The female inmates were thought how to use pads and dispose them, wash their body, and handle menstrual pains. Mr Baba Ibrahim, Deputy Controller (DCP) of the Suleja Prison , who received the items on behalf of the inmates, commended Tonto Dikeh and her foundation for the benevolence. He, however urged other Nigerians of goodwill and NGOs to emulate the kind gesture to complement government’s effort in taking care of prisoners. “The welfare of prisoners is of paramount importance to government, and every effort by organisations and kind hearted individuals will assist greatly in achieving that aim.(NAN) http://toribaze.com/naija-news/nollywood-star-tonto-dikeh-donates-relief-items-prison-inmates/Lalasticlala, Mynd44, MissyB3, Fynestboi

Celebrities › Re: #ThisIsNigeria: Nigerian Celebrities Are Criminals by ToriBaze(op): 8:52am On May 28, 2018 |
elgramz: I don't agree with you that not being political or social activists makes Wizkid and other artistes criminals. These artistes are primarily entertainers, they entertain their audience to make money in return. If any of them decides to use the platform he has for political or social activism like falz just did then kudos to him but that doesn't mean that all other artistes are obligated to join him in the activism. It's their personal decision and their decision should be respected
What I will however condemn is some of them using their platform to promote destructive vices like drug abuse and fraud, if you call those artistes doing this criminals, I might be inclined to agree with you on that If they don't do such, at least they should appreciate when others are doing it... I thought he's always preaching "One Africa" "One Love" "Africa To The World" bla bla bla... Diddy just endorse Falz's Cover of "This Is America" which is a good thing for Africa, my werey brother nor gree send shout out to Falz... I hate to admit it, if Falz hadn't spoke against some people who sponsor Davido, he would've send shout out to Falz. |

Source: ToriBazeYesterday After Diddy posted a video of Falz's Cover of "This Is America", he later declare his love for Nigerian Artists for always "Changing The Game". After that post we saw alot of Nigerian Artists flooding Diddy's Insta to comment on the post as if they've done anything close to what Falz did.
Falz released his Cover of "This Is America" and he speaks about how things have been going wrong in the system of Nigeria. From Politicians who kills and steal but still contesting for Election, to Insecurities, To "Yahoo Yahoo" being acceptable and common in the Society, to Fulani Herdsmen and many other Nigeria problems in the 3mins Video.
We haven't see any Nigerian Top Celebrities like Davido or Wizkid repost the Video on any of their Social Media handle.
99% of those commenting haven't even shared Falz Video on their social media handles. They haven't even praised Falz for his brilliant message he passed through the Viral Song/Video.
If Diddy all the way from America could do so, i don't see any reasonable reason for our so-called Artists not to have done so too.
Even if they can't sing Positive songs, at least they could help Publicise & Appreciate those doing it. A musician is suppose to use his/her music to spread/pass message to the listeners... If not Drugs, Money, Girls, what positive things are they passing to us?
Nigeria is in a very bad condition, yet these so-called musicians are not speaking about the ill things going on in the country, maybe until one of their close friends or family member becomes a victim of such circumstances.
The Industry is booming, even if u sing about other irrelevant things just to be relevant, still use at least one of your songs to speak against the problems we have in Nigeria. Let the World Know things ain't working well for us. Most news about herdsmen may stay in Nigeria becuase you don't expect other country to watch our news channel, but with music you can spread the message abroad.
Is it that Falz spoke against some of the people who sponsor them Because i know Olamide won't agree with that "Yahoo Yahoo" part
Wizkid has been criticised by many for being too Proud. I'm a huge Wizkid fan but for him not to repost it is so much annoying. I thought he's regarded as the Fela of nowadays?? Is it the womanising part of Fela he took after?? Or is he jealous that Falz's "This Is Nigeria" is trending more than his Sold Out O2 Arena Concert?? Or Because some people are now regarding Falz as the new "Fela"??
I won't talk much on Davido, for the fact that his uncles are part of the people Falz was singing against in the Video he won't try to publicise it.
Olamide eh eh eh... dat one is all about Drugs songs for the streets and supporting "Yahoo Yahoo" in the Society so i won't even think he'd share the Video. Except Conscience judge am before am go share.
Kudos to Falz for the lovely Music. At least he has a purpose for Singing unlike the rest singing about sleeping with women or making money illegitimately and praising Yahoo Yahoo Boys... They're all Criminals. http://toribaze.com/entertainment/diddy-reacts-falzs-nigerian-version-america/Lalasticlala, Mynd44, MissyB3, Fynestboi
