Gerrard59: Today being the 23rd day of August is the day one of Nairaland's Obong-owo was given birth. The only career blogger we have in Nigeria nay Africa. The man whose blog, comments, posts, updates has broken records, lifted spirits, corrected misconceptions. The priceless advices, knocks and kudos. The man who we run to for salary updates, course prognosis, career aspirations, job tests, strategies on how to pass interviews. The Emir of CV writing, the Oba of cover letter and the Obi of career tutorials. He can write articles for Africa; objective ones.
If his advices were to be listed on the NYSE, it will surpass Apple's market capitalisation. If the blog were to be a public company, it'll be featured on the Forbes 2000 leading public companies. Like I always say, if you're a student, youth corp member, working professional or even a C-suite executive in Nigeria and you don't know Jarus and Jarushub (The Muse, Glassdoor, Indeed, Adecco, Randstad), then you're on a long thing.
On a finally note: For a man who is making a success of everything he touches, the success you have achieved so far is not a surprise to us because you are with Allah and whoever that is with Allah does not fail but continue to triumph with His grace and more successes. Happy birthday boss.
Happy Birthday to Mr. Suraj Oyewale aka Jarus ACCA, ACTI, ICAN, CITN, MBA.
From your SAJ (first and only ). Oga Jarus is one of the few Nigerians I respect,he really helped a lot in making certain critical decisions about my life. I really appreciate you,God bless you for me. |

SeverusSnape: Kachikwu is an excellent administrator. But unfortunately, Bubu the Mumu doesn't see that, He had to remove him as GMD and replaced with his "competent" brother.
Though the profits isn't unconnected to the fact that Nigerians are paying for petroleum products at exorbitant prices, even when the price of crude is low. bros dey read news well before you just jump to conclusions. Kachukwu wasn't demoted,he was promoted to be the chairman of NNPC board,rather than being a GMD. Newspaper tabloids purported the story in a way that will make papers sell |

Seeeeeeee: Am trying to tell you since the headquaters are in lagos and controlled by yorubas its hard to get the job here, what happens is they employ there and send them here.. I do'nt mean menial jobs that they through to the host community, i mean to get employment as a Petroleum Engineer. I don't think you know the way things work in Lagos, I don't think you understand how corporate culture works....most co tract carried out by shell,chevron,Mobil,total,saipem,agip or any other one are being given to a Niger Delta...go and Mk your research on this...local content participation is there .... why did shell vacant warri,its cause of the people...why haven't shell,chevron left Lagos all this while,its cause the place is safe....if it wasn't safe enough believe me hennn,DM go dn pack comot tey tey... in essence,the Niger Delta na DM cause d probes upon dmselves abeg,,,,though govt also contributed |

Seeeeeeee: You have no idea what you're talking about.. are you sure,most oil companies policies operating in the Niger delta area still gv preference to a Niger delta than any other person based on certain reasons...I work with an oil firm in warri.....at least to an extent I know what is going on |

Even Niger deltans themselves made matters worse,they don't have good leaders,and the youths there are very lazy.Let's be frank with ourselves even if the fed govt decides to practice thru federalism today,Niger delta won't still develop....there leaders are their problems.....a typical Niger delta (except for the exposed ones) will prefer to go and do oil bunkery than go thru the painful process of education..they see it time waster...dey love fast money.....I dey tell u.... Niger delta s love flexing a lot,its one of the reason I like dm
not disputing d fact say federal govt dey really cheat that region to be candid |

Seeeeeeee: Hmmm what the FG does'nt know is that dialogue is the key, more groups are springing up everyday not just the Avengers, Niger Deltans are angry the Northerners and westerners are controlling the oil blocs and oil industry as a whole thereby making it very difficult for the youths of the Niger Delta to work in the multinational oil firms operating in our State, if any of you people are here you will weep but there's nothing you can do. If you have'nt been to the Niger Delta before we don't have other companies like in Lagos, Ogun, Ibadan even Kano, what we have is only the oil firms and government work. Let me give you people an example, i personally graduated with B.ENG in Petroleum Engineering till today no job but the multinationals in my state are hiring on monthly basis some as contract staffs we here no job, just because the companies headquaters is in lagos you hire them there send them to our community to work. Bro you are expressing bitterness here,I have lived in Niger Delta before,warri precisely. If you are well qualified for the multinational jobs ,you will be employed nah. It doesn't matter whether headquarters dey Lagos or Kaduna. Most Niger deltans don't value education,except for the few exposed ones.....if they are well schooled forget na Una go gt most of d jobs.... |

Most telcos in Nigeria are all multinational I.e having presence in other countries around the world. Now imagination much multinational firms paying 35,000 as monthly salary,it against the culture if such firms.
Outsourcing gives room for efficiency,reduced cost and at the same time cheap salary ... Shell,Chevron etc do outsource most of their services too. |

Layode wrote;
SOS! I'm in private inbox with a lady who has fled DV She is in Abuja with her sister. Her family is putting pressure on her to go back to her husband. Her mother says 'da'le mosu' - single parenthood is not good. Her father who is retired is fending for her. Can we have Abuja helpers please! She sent me several pictures but asked me not to show her face. This one below is one where he smashed a plank on her head. And her family want her to go back to the man! They say there is no couple that don't fight. Yes. But how many smash planks on their spouses' heads? Can we get help in Abuja please! She needs a job, shelter. She's got kids. Her son wakes up in the night screaming 'MUMMY! DADDY IS GOING TO KILL YOU!'
