Her mom no longer lives with her so the name on the tenancy agreement of the house is changed to her name from her moms name.

We have the tenancy agreement in my wife's name and we are getting a supporting letter from the landlord. I just want to know if these 2 docs are enough to cover for accommodation?

Lexusgs430:
Is the tenancy agreement transferable?

Hello House.

My wife used to live with her mom but her mom got transferred to Manchester. Now we have change the name on the tenancy agreement from her moms name to my wife name.

We plan to submit the tenancy agreement with supporting letter from the landlord.

Are these two documents ok to cover for accommodation?

Thanks

Did you submit all necessary documents to prove your relationship like:
Marriage certificate, chat logs, call logs, emails, pictures before, during and after wedding?

Mchikwaira:
Visa refused on grounds that we are long distance and they think we are related. Thank you for all your input and support. I'm not sure if an appeal is even worth it.

Thanks @Abbylove for sharing. God bless you. Have an awesome Christmas with your husband. I'll get back with more questions. Lol!

Abbylove:
Attend your appointment with the documents you have on you. Have your wife send in the rest to Sheffield with photocopies and a self addressed and prepaid envelope so your originals can be returned to her

She doesn't need to send them back to you in Nigeria.
Its 2 pieces of 1 puzzle.
They would be matched up at Sheffield and your application would be processed

It doesn't matter who sent in what.

Hope this helps

Thanks @Abbylove

I already sent my original documents like my UK masters degree, birth certificate, pictures and wedding certificate to my wife in the UK.

Is my wife not suppose to send them to sheffield?

I thought I would only submit my passport, application forms and TB certificate at the tls office in Nigeria. I intend to apply apply in January and I need to be sure of the documents I need to have with me and the documents my wife should have?

Please I need more info on this? Anybody that just applied can advise according. Thanks

Abbylove:
Hi Tosine.

At the Tls office I submitted (with photocopies):
- My passport (old and new)
- Original marriage certificate
- My university degree certificates
- evidence of our communication
- pictures
- IHS & Visa application receipts
- photocopy of NARIC certificate
-original medium of instruction letters from my universities
-birth certificate, tb test certificate, my biz registration documents and personal income tax certificate.

This was in September.
They stopped taking hardcopies since the 5th Dec. 2016.

Just know that all your personal documents would be accepted from you at the submission centre. While all documents originating from the UK should be sent in by your soonsor.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing @Abbylove.
What documents did you submit at the VAC office in Nigeria?

[q1uote author=Abbylove post=52213612]Hello Realgeo.
My checklist isnt the best. Found some awesome ones here after I had submitted my application.
I was lucky I must tell you 'cos I made a handful of mistakes on my application.

But since you asked this is what we sent in.

We divided our list into 4 and sent in documents for each category

1. English requirement
- NARIC Certificate for my 1st & Masters degree
(I sent in photocopies, hubby sent in originals)
- My original certificates
- Medium of Instruction letters from my universities (I studied in Nigeria)
- NYSC Certificate

2. Financial requirement
- P60
- pay slips for 6 months prior to application
- New contract of employment (due to start a few weeks after I submitted my application)
- 6 months bank statement

Please note that we met the minimum amount required with his old & new job

* we didn't add a letter from His new or old employer. Please do if you can.

3. Accommodation requirement
- Council tax bill
- Mortgage statement
- water bill

* Others add electricity bill, letter from Landlord and many other stuff here. We didn't because he owns his house so we didn't need to get a letter from anyone. So please note you might need to get one if the apartment is rented

4. Relationship
- Marriage certificate
- 30 pictures from our introduction/traditional wedding
- 30 pictures from our registry ceremony
- 30 pictures from a after wedding-dinner party where we hosted our friends
- 20 pictures from times we spent together
(Many of them were selfies and kissy kissy pictures...lol)
- Photocopies of his visa page for the 2 times he came to Nigeria
- His flight tickets/boarding passes for those 2 return trips
- 12 emails we sent each other. Only one was romantic....and that was the one I sent him on his birthday.
- Screenshoots of our whatsapp calls. (100+ pages....we talk 10 times a day)

Note: we didn't remember to put dates on our pictures. Please do.
We also didnt add our whatsapp chat...please do this.
He has sent me money several times but we didnt add evidence of that 'cos we didnt know it would be relevant. Please do.

Gifts he bought me when he came for the wedding....we didnt add evidence of this. Please do

Other documents added were my birth certificate, my business registration documents, my personal income tax receipt, IHS fee receipt and his british passport.

The mistakes I made were typographic so please be very careful when filling your forms.

I had 2 previous UK visit visa refusals but it didnt stop us from getting it.
Thank God

Hope this helps.

Good luck!!![/quote]

The new application process, does it apply to settlement visa application? So we don't need to send our documents to Sheffield anymore?

I just sent all my original documents to my wife in the UK so that when I apply at the VAC, she'll post all our original supporting documents to Sheffield now I don't understand this new application process.

UK ADOPTS NEW VISA APPLICATION PROCESS FOR NIGERIANS
December 2, 2016
Press Release

The UK Embassy in Nigeria has adopted a new visa application process, the British High Commission said on Friday in a statement.

The spokesperson of the commission, Joe Abuku, described the new process as a slight change in which “Visa staff now only need electronic versions of support documents.”

The new process, which takes effect from December 5 for customers applying for a UK visa in Lagos, Victoria Island and Ikeja, would bring applicants benefits from digital improvements to the UK visa application process.

“TLSContact (responsible for UK Visa Application Centres in Nigeria) will scan your supporting documents whilst you’re at the visa application centre, and then return your original documents to you,” the statement said.

“They will then send these (electronic) documents to UKVI, with your passport and application form, and visa officers will consider your application in the usual way.

In order to avoid delays in the visa application centre, the Commission requested applicants to ensure they complied with requirement to provide all documents in A4 size, while any other documents smaller or larger than A4 should be photocopied onto A4 sized paper.

While advising all customers to remove any clips or pins from documents before submitting their application, the Commission warned that any torn, crumpled or heavily creased documents, which is difficult to photocopy, should be photocopied onto A4 sized paper before submitted, as they can’t be scanned in this condition.

Thanks for the reply. MSC was in the UK.

Foreveryours201:
From what I remember.

You need to submit at the VAC:
Your passport
Your printed and signed application form (make 2 copies and send 1 to your wife)
TB certificate original (make 2 photocopies-send one copy to your wife)
Send your MSC cert to your wife tell her to make 2 copies, she should send the original and photocopy (I'm assuming your MSC was done in UK?)
VAF2 Appendix 2 form (can't remember if they took this, but make a copy either way).

To be honest they will take what they need because they returned some documents back to my husband.

I intend to Apply for the settlement visa in January.

What documents do I show here at the VAC as I intend to send to my wife all my original documents such as birth certificate, MSC degree, TB certificate to add to her own supporting documents to Sheffield.

Will they request for these documents here in Nigeria?

Thank you

Uchman365:
The easiest way is to send all the documents you have to your wife, then she will send everything together.

DON'T EVER SEND TWO BATCHES, they won't accept the second one.
Thanks for the info. So that means I will be submitting only my passport and application form here in Nigeria?
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by tosine: 8:10pm On Nov 01, 2016
I have been following this forum for long and God bless the people responding to all questions. I plan to apply for my UK settlement visa in January. My wife meets all the requirements.

My question is for the supporting documents to Sheffield. Some of the documents like house agreement, wife pay slips are with my wife in the UK. While I have our pictures, phone logs and chats.

Do I send my own supporting docs to Sheffield and she sends her original docs too? Or do I request her to send it to me via email and I send as one to Sheffield? What's the best advice?

Thanks and God bless
