If humanity can manage to survive the current case of climate change, now add rapid advancement in our civilization that is currently going on. Even in 50 to 100yrs man will start travelling in space talkless of thousand, millions and heck, billions of years.

Straight to the point, the sun wouldn't exterminate life, yes it will end earth as a planet. However, the only thing that will exterminate humans is human! His greed, his inate and inbuilt problem from which every other evil emanates...SELF! It will be his own undoing, if he can't overcome it.

We are talking of the sun here ,the principal source of earth's energy,that which all other energy is gotten from and you are saying it's death will not anyway exterminate humans??that's delusional.
From your perspective, humans would have probably evacuated earth to another planet courtesy of advanced technology before the death of it's sun,so as not to be terminated along with earth.

Leaving earth means leaving it's solar system to maybe a planet in the ALPHA CENTAURI,a planet which is able to sustain human life. Now if for about 4.7 billion years, man hasn't even fully explored Mars,talkless of of it's solar system, what makes you think they would be able to explore another star system and find a planet in it which will be able to accommodate humans in the next 5 billion years??
