I want to share some pictures. I took them while on a visit to Jos sometime last year. Jos is simply amazing; I saw so much precious stuff just growing around wildly. Stuff that I'll personally love to have down south. In addition, the people were super friendly (I was wondering if I was still in Naija at a point) I loved seeing the rocks and the pretty flowers growing around them. I wanted to move there (joke) permanently grin cheesy until a bomb went off the day before I was due to leave. angry cry

Anyways roses and the plucked roses in a vase.

CelebritiesRe: Chrystabel Goddy Speaks On Biting Princess Chineke On Thigh by touchmeder: 1:35pm On Feb 15, 2016
sixtuschimere:
Read what she said below...

"Princess is a colleague whom I met on the set of a production. Despite her malicious and overbearing persona, I still tried to relate with her for the purpose of the project that brought us together. I had complained about her untidy lifestyle and her troubles and even had to leave the room for another room when the original occupant had to leave for his home due to the fact that the hotel is noisy.

On this day, the alternative room wasn't available to me and I had to put up with her in the room given to us to share. Prior to eventually sharing the room for the first time, I had told her that most times I get to relax after the day's job and activities, later at night to respond to calls and text messages and that was just me prompting her out of courtesy and respect.

If one isn't a bitter person, a phone call shouldn't offend you so much. I mean especially if you can sleep in a hotel that has so much noise from the bar and she leaves the tv on! I turned it off the day I slept there. So I was on the phone she was still awake laying her head and watching tv before she turned to sleep barely 5mins into her sleep, she wakes up yelling.

I mean civil communication, if honestly you're disturbed, is fair enough, but when I didn't respond, she turned on the music on her phone and to its loudest volume and put the phone right over my head, at this point I was so embarrassed. My friend who had called kept asking if everything was ok as he could hear her voice.

I had to end the call. The following day I reported the issue. Now, this day after the day's work, We retired to our hotel and I only went downstairs to ask for help from the reception only for me to return to the room and she had moved to my side of the bed which we had agreed on that I stayed due to my phone calls and work

I asked her to please excuse me that I needed to lay my head after I had waited for her for about 15mins with my excuse for her been that she probably is going through messages she missed earlier unknown to me she'd had a fight upcoming. She responded bluntly saying that she's not moving from her spot. .

That it was hers before she gave it to me and I said exactly so it's no longer yours if you're not just a troublemaker. Princess is controlling and rude. She has a deep cut under her arm which she said was given to her by her cousin apparently this does tells how much of a problematic and incorrigible person she is.

I have helped her to treat that deep cut and the production team bought her meds too. On her response, I called the production manager to explain again that she's about to start again. When I dropped the phone, she started raining abuses on me and my family.

She abused my dad at which point I lost control, because I lost my dad only just recently and the wound is still fresh in my heart. I held her mouth to cover it and make her shut up. She attacked me..scratching my face, neck and tearing the shirt I had on.

She bit me on both hands and used her teeth to cut my gold bracelet. Upon this a senior colleague came in and separated us but when asked what happened she wouldn't explain without trying to make it juicy and insulting my family. I hold family dearly.

I am a private person and I respect people's families too. She inflicted more injuries on me she pulled my natural hair a wig or weave. Her bites on me are here. Its unfortunate that she's looking for sympathy in trying to tarnish my name.

The injury she sustained was out of defence and I have since apologized. An apology which she refused to acknowledge. Regardless of the what had transpired, I still took the pain to apologise to her but apparently she's unforgiven and vengeful.

My only vengeance is this piece because God knows how to protect his own and I know that she intend to shame me but it'd turn around for my fame. I won't be angry over the lesbian accusation. A clean heart fears none. I have never kissed a girl in my life. I would never think of going to blackmail an individual. Several folks have hurt me but life goes on.

My consolation is that I've been on a few sets and there are folks who can attest to my conduct. However, I forgive her for this and I hold no grudge. I have apologised for the wound because I should have stayed in control and not get furious which is my first but we're humans and we all have our most stretched points.

After a stressful day one doesn't need a troublemaker as a flat mate or roommate. I think that if my calls disturbed her as she claims she could ha e gotten herself a room as a big girl she had bragged to be. I don't complain about her calls. Even when she messes up the room, I quietly clean it and ensure the rest of the job is done by the housekeepers of the hotel. This is what really happened. God bless."

You cannot compare this scratch to what you did to that lady. You virtually tore off her skin! That is horrible. I would be weary of you sha cos that tells me you have control issues. Very scary...

You may not like and ever eat it but its terribly rude to be doing God forbid on another person's food - terribly rude! Someone from another culture may say the same thing for your best food and I bet you'll feel bad. Just try to control yourself...

This is gorgeous
its not often that one finds such bright orange flowers
Ive never seen it before anywhere
I will see if I can find the seeds

Just read that it takes 3 years for seed to bloom sad
Looks like a garden centre trek grin
Perhaps abroad. I notice some folks (online) from the west saying it lies dormant for most part of the year until spring (e try sef)

I don't think we need wait that long in Naija. I recall seeing this plant bloom all the time as a kid. I haven't seen it since then though and for some weird reason, I never quite forgot the plant. The flowers don't last for too long though.

With Jesus joy in my heart, i'm very happy to announce the orange coloured plant I was referring to earlier today. This thread woke that urge in me again and i went 'agoogling' LOL and this time, I was rewarded with the right result. Some of us on this thread may recognise the plant abi na only my mama dey grow am those days? This is the blog that led me to the plant; http://chingchailah..com/2015_08_01_archive.html

It is called Chrysothemis Pulchella. Wiki says ''Chrysothemis pulchella (also known as sunset bells, black flamingo, copper leaf' or simply chryothemis is a tender tropical perennial plant that belongs to the Gesneriaceae family. It can be used as a shade area house plant or interior ornamental plant or in a greenhouse''

If I tell you how excited I am about finding this plant, you wont believe it. I'll be sending the pic to my mum tomorrow morning.

Totally! I love books too, I like buying old books even. Let's start together to grow something basic, I have a lot of empty cans, we can all start something basic indoors.
Can I join? I'll have to find the tin and soil first

I rarely see people planting this indoors here but almost every professional gardener sells it in Lagos. Now, I'll ask that you avoid this plant until you are a very experienced gardener. Its sap is super-toxic and gushes out once you cut it and easily absorbed through skin and eyes. Repercussions are bad, we are talking anaphylactic symptoms (your eyes will feel like they're burning off and you will have shortness of breathe and all sorts) and you need to go to the hospital to get an Antihistamine shot. The symptoms are worse if you have a latex allergy (which we don't check for here). Professional gardeners abroad recommend using gloves and eye goggles when pruning this plant and scrubbing (yes scrubbing) your hands off afterwards.
This is an amazing thread and as I see some of the plants, I'm just smiling. I don't know most by name but some of these plants take me back to when I was growing up. My mum had lots of these plants in flower pots.

This milky one, she had it too and I remember plucking it and watching the sap flow. We used to place the sap on our nails (abi nor be this plant. Maybe it was another plant that produces sap lol) and it would have this transparent cortex effect. Now I know better.

I'm still going thru this thread cos I remember a bright orange coloured flower (small flowers) with velvety brownish leaves. I've been looking for that plant ever since even trying google but no joy. Good job ere; following thread.

Anyways some seconds and they are ready. Now bind the spirit of distraction: children crying, husband calling, dog barking, neighbour knocking and phone ringing cheesy . In a nutshell, don’t go anywhere unless it will burn.

Leave to dry on a paper towel so you can catch off the excess oil and try not to eat it as you fry the next batch. I'll share another prawn inspired meal this weekend. Eat as is or you can use your favourite sauce.
Happy cooking…

The quantity of the above ingredients will depend on the amount of prawns you use. First step clean the prawns and snip away the sharp parts. Then rinse and get the excess water off your prawns. Next, season your prawns lightly. You don’t want to overpower the delicate flavour of the prawns so a mild seasoning like knorr would do. Heck use whatever you've got but don’t overdo it!

Then get a clean bowl, add about a tablespoon and half of flour. Mix it with slightly hot oil (about a teaspoon or so) then add ginger powder, garlic powder, cornstarch, salt, pepper and just a little bit of water. Consistency should be a bit thick like you want to prepare akamu. Add the prawns to this mixture and stir. If you find the batter too light because your prawns were wet, you can add a little flour.

Next groundnut oil for deep frying on the fire. Add a prawn at a time, [s] if you lump them in at once, they will stick together and you will be left with the intricate task of surgically dividing them apart like I did. Good luck with not getting hot oil on your skin like me. [/s]

I wanted to share this simple but tasty recipe. If you are seriously concerned about your calorie intake, you may want to skip this but then again, it's just a one off thing so I guess it won't hurt. I've just discovered these prawns in my new locality and they are inexpensive. I usually use them for spaghetti, rice, sauce or in my moimoi but this last time, the seller was feeling rather generous and she gave me a bargain! I was like a kid in a candy shop so I went all out but once I got home, I was stuck. What do I do with all these prawns?

Ingredients

1. Fresh prawns

2. Salt

3. Seasoning

4. Pepper

5. Garlic

6. Ginger

7. Oil for deep frying

8. Flour

9. Cornstarch

10. Water
