Are you applying from inside or outside the UK?
Perhaps the best thing is to check the home office website itself
I'm applying from Lagos, Nigeria

Ecash Planet: Hello house,

Does anyone have an idea of the length of time it takes the UK border office to process a visitor-in-transit visa application here in Nigeria?

I haved checked their website, the only information on processing times is for other categories of visa application.

Kindly tell.

Thanks

Career / Site Personnel Vs Office Personnel In Construction by tox2k(m): 1:39pm On Jun 12, 2013
Hi Folks! This goes to all ICT n Office Personnel working in construction companies. How do u cope with d benefits that often pass us by like site allowance, etc? Site personnel act as if office staff r irrelevant. What is ur company policy regarding this.Even though, I am. a qualified Electrical Engr, I am the IT Manager where I work.

You case is solved then, since you still have your birth certificate, just go with your birth certificate and the new affidavit..the embassy knows how to trace the rest and forget to name the hospital and possibly their contact number and email so as for the embassy to contact them.wishing you all the best
Wow! Thank you so much, Bro! UK! Here I come!!

Can you remember the process you took when you got the affidavit after the fire incident? The particular council/court that issued you the affidavit? Who went with you and stuff?[/quote] A million thanks! The affidavit was actually made by my Dad 'cos I was away in school when the fire incident that destroyed my documents occured.

Do you have your birth certificate?if you don't have your birth certificate, then I wii,l advice you to go get another affidavit and maybe you can plead with them to backdate it, that is if it's issued in Nigeria.another thing you can use is the pictures your parents took during or after your birth in uk.. But as it stand now, you don't have any evidence to show that you were actually born in uk cos the hospital don't have your record also.ask your parents if the hospital collected your finger print after your birth then..that might help you

Thanks. I still have my birth certificate. Also they still have my mother's name and mine on record in the hospital. As for fingerpints, I really hope so.

Sounds to me more like "envy" dan prayers. Hold on to what u'r doing which is "far better". I also served "tirelessly and selflessly" in the 2011 elections, in the very remote areas of the North.. I saw guns and knives, had to even run for my life at some point... Or u think u single-handedly worked for INEC?? There were several others like us too o. Na God do am, no be man. Don't feel jealous, don't mock, HOLD ON TO WHAT U HAVE.. Be contented. At least you have something doing. Many of us have "nothing" outside INEC... God distributed opportunities equally.
!
Yeah, right! I was kind of angry. But sincerely speaking, I felicitate with all of u( who got the job on merit) Someone who works at INEC told me the process was flawed. But, I shouldnt have believed him . I'm glad Nigeria is getting better.

Congratulations y'all! May you all prosper inasmuch as you were employed based on merit and through due process. I served with INEC in 2011, worked tirelessly and selflessly in their ICT Dept, but evidently Nigeria does not appreciate diligence yet. I pray we get there someday. Congratulations, once again.Fortunately, what I am doing now is far better.

Hi Justwise! Need ur nuggets here! I was born in the UK when Citizenship by birth was automatic. Though, I'm just processing my passport now. One major challenge is that my hospital records (supporting docs) were destroyed in a fire in 2004.An affidavit was made to cover that, but the affidavit is also missing now. I got in touch with the hospital where I was born, but they told me that my documents had been destroyed in accordance with the Data Protection Law 25yrs limit. I intend to apply for Masters as a citizen next year. What line of action can I take now?
