The Fbn I went told me to provide admission letter with school account details before the bank can process FormA for me.
Unfortunately, Conestoga only provided acceptance letter without account details. It seems the school prefer third party transaction like Flywire.
The last time I checked, there was no different between Flywire rate and black market rate.
Please, anyone that has gone through FormA route should let me know the procedure. I've up to about 5 months to pay for my tuition fees.
The rate is not equivalent if you're paying through form A. Just go Yo the flywire website and generate your invoice.

It's good you wait. Did they give any deadline like the way CIBC usually give 3 days?
If yes and you have initiated your payment via form A, there is no need requesting for another
Yes, they gave a deadline.... But the date is even still ahead. I'll just wait it out.

Thank you.

I don't understand.
Any currency you use on flywire should match the currency on trade portal.

Do not upload a new invoice on your trade portal. Wait for their support team to reply you as they'll likely extend the date on the invoice

I was just shocked to see "payment cancelled" on the portal and I didn't cancel it. I'll just wait for them to respond as suggested.

Thank you.

UPDATE

Flywire just sent me a new link to be able to track my payment. The link isn't reflecting on my dashboard at all.

I'll advice anyone generating invoice via flywire should just use USD

Hello All,

I generated an invoice via flywire which I uploaded on the trades portal. Today, I went back to the flywire website, and I'm seeing my payment transaction there as cancelled.

The thing is that I changed the currency from CAD to USD meaning it cancelled the initial invoice but didn't update the portal to reflect the invoice I generated in USD. As it is now, there's no record of the current invoice on the portal and that is the invoice I uploaded on trades system portal.

What do I do? Do I create another payment on the flywire portal and upload the new invoice on trades portal? I've sent a message to their support team but no response yet.

Make una no ignore me o. Pls.

Please who can help me pay my application fee of 100CAD using his credit card here please?. I tried using flywire and even my master debit card it didn't work. One of the schools I am really interested in gave only credit card as payment option.
if it is a dollar MC, just use your PAN in lieu of Account Number.

Hmmm. Zenith Bank
I don’t think it’s an indication that you would be debited the main fee in time though.

They debited me for the initial charges on the 20th of February, up till I’m still waiting to be debited for the school fees.
That's quite some time o. That's why I wanted to be sure before I use the other option. I appreciate your response. Thank you.

Hi Toyin,
You mentioned couple of days ago that you just filled Form A. Have they started processing already?
Yes, they have started the process already. That's why I need to know if that is a good sign. I have a deadline I'm trying to beat.

Hello Everyone!

Who has paid tuition via form A recently? I got a debit alert of some charges attached to the form A today. Is that a good sign on my application? And I'll also like to know the time frame of getting the actual debit.

Thank you.

You can choose either of them. Your bank will convert your Naira to any of the currency you choose and wire the funds.
Alright man, I truly appreciate your response. smiley

Well, if it was CIBC, CAD is recognised and your school would send you the invoice on the amount to be paid including the bank details.
What currency did you see in the invoice for flywire?

I generated the invoice myself, I saw USD, pounds, euro, and CAD and then went for CAD. The school sent nothing asides directions to get it done.

I am paying via flywire and a Lil bit confused either to select payment in USD or CAD cos I'm not too sure CAD is recognized here in Nigeria.

LONG POST ALERT!
I know this is coming late but it is better late than never.
I am super grateful to God and to everyone contributing on this thread.

Received PPR for my study permit on Dec 22 and SOWP for my spouse on Dec 23

Application submitted on September 3rd
Biometrics done and updated the same day on Sept 8th for me & Sept 15th for spouse
Upfront medicals me on September 22nd
Eligibility started on October 27th
Upfront medicals passed for spouse on November 9th after sending webforms

Then silence... No update, nothing. The wait was frustrating.

Ordered CBSA notes on Oct 27 which came on Nov 23 and showed that everything was in order & eligibility was on review required

I already differed to May 2023 (I no wan book flight/travel under pressure) but I kept sending emails and webforms. At a point I scheduled like 35 emails daily

Sent email to Simon Fraser & Justin Trudeau on December 12 and received responses albeit generic (in short, told me to be patient)
Reached out to MP same day, she asked for my details and got back after a few days with same generic response and told me to keep checking portal for update.
I stopped sending emails on Dec 14. At this point I decided to leave everything in God's hands as I felt I had done everything I needed to do within my power. I never stopped praying all through. Sent webform on Dec 20th.

I was having a not so good day on 22nd when I decided to check my email, na so I see 2 donotreply emails. My heart was racing as I checked portal to see PPR for myself and ghost update for spouse. PPR dropped for my spouse the next morning.

If I can do it, anybody can. Just take your time to write a compelling story in your SOP. It is the most important thing after POF. It is how you sell yourself to the VO. It is better you write yourself and get people to help review but if you cannot write it please outsource and fine-tune (I know GCMS writer is good).
I begged people to help review my SOP. I am going for a PGD in Business Analytics after already having PGD in Business Admin. Going with spouse for 1year program without travel history and God did it.

I learnt alot just by being a silent reader here and I also did a lot of research. The motivation to start the journey was gotten from here.
Special thanks to Lianna2020, skull4eva, justmellow, Centennial guy & Ketima who helped review my SOP & answer my questions when I reached out. Thanks to everyone that made this possible

Congratulations to you!!!

But please, how did you go about making payments via Form A?

Can you contact them via their live chat? I’m thinking there’s something that can be done instead of wasting application fee since the reason was eligible transcript.

Did you at any point send the official?
They closed the application about 2 months ago. I never sent the official copy. I don't just want to make another mistake choosing schools this time.

True, Application fees can be expensive.
The easy admission stories you read are majorly to colleges/universities for PGD, PGC studies.

I'm guessing you intend to go for masters cos of your good GPA, however, masters is not an easy program to get into considering the tough competition and requirements.

Now the trick I learned is to apply for intakes ahead of the current intake, for instance, winter studies resume in Jan so the next intake is in May, the intake following that is September. Now applying for may Intake is still fine, however, that's the one everyone will be applying for at the moment and that automatically makes it competitive but if you apply for September intake with less rush, the admission will get to you with 3-4 weeks. (I applied for Jan 2023 intake in April 2022 when everyone was advising me to go for September 2022 intake and the admission got to me within 3 weeks)

Mpower loan is fine, but ensure your also have funds of your own to show as POF.

Good luck.

Thanks for your response.I intend applying for Sept 2023. I'm just a bit skeptical cos of my cgpa...I feel it's quite low compared to the kind of schools I want to apply into. But thanks for the trick advice, I wasn't thinking in that direction.

How long ago did you finish from university? Durham doesn’t accept study gap of over 5 years.
2018. Still below 5 years... There was lots of back n forth...transcript not clear enough even though I used a scanner.

Good day everyone. Thanks for all y'all do
I have read many times people say getting admission is easy et all. But I applied once to Durham College but somehow my application was closed.

Now, I'll like to apply to a uni...I graduated with a 3.56. I have narrowed my search to sch such as uni of Manitoba, Ottawa, etc cos I intend using mpower loan. Is this advisable? I don't want to waste money on application fee. I need advise.

Thank you.

Most time NO, but it all depends in the school

For such admission, aside Transcript, and the Certificate of whatever program you studied, the Admission committee of that Program will expect you to have documents that shows your work experience as related to the intended program

Two year contract job with zenith not far from home 200 to and from with 110k per month in akowonjo/ Lagos or permanent staff Job with 75k per month in ilupeju oshodi lagos 900 to and fro.. please which one should my sis go for.. we have till tomorrow to accept one of the offer ...
Please which one is better

Let her go for ZB. The contract isn't really for 2 years as you can resign at any time you wish to. If she put her ears on the ground, she can switch department to one that has transferable skills. Pay has also been reviewed (gone up obviously) and she might end up not touching it as the tips you get in a day is enough to cover transportation costs and feeding.

All the best.

HI

A BSC holder going for another BSC is not advisable. Approval chances is low with such move.

These are the red flags a Visa Officer will possibly spot
- 15 years is a very long Study gap
- No Academic Progression (going for another BSC) which will be termed as WRONG PURPOSE OF VISIT
- Her Age

Your friend should jejely go for a PG. Cert or Post-Baccalaureate or Post Diploma program in a Business field for CAREER PROGRESSION (as related to her work experience)

See the link below for the programs
https://www.nairaland.com/6957495/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/230#111060488

Hello, I'll like to ask.... If one decides to go for a post graduate certificate program related to their current work experience (career progression), does the grade one graduated with (Bsc.) matter here? Pls?

Nah I think it is if you have a Masters and then you want to go for PG that’s a red flag. But if it’s from BSc to PG, many people are doing that here. I spoke to a friend that just landed, he has a BSc and now going for a PG.

I stand to be corrected though.
thanks for your response, but please, does your friend have a 2.1? That's my concern here. Thanks.

Red Flag syndrome as regards cad. Study Visa in academics....eh...there should be progression....no loop holes....if you have (2.1-say banking and finance_B.sc) ...you should go for be going for M.sc in banking and finance or other related course.......This progression should be there...
I'm considering the cost, thats why. My sponsor can only show a closing balance that can cover for a Yr study program, and I read I have to show for the entire 2 years if it's for Msc. Sighs.

SOP is your only way to explain to the VOs your situation as regards many factors such as Home Ties, Financial Status and Personal Assets, Career or Academic Progression, reasons for wanting to study the course among many others.

If it were to be the US visa, for example, you would be called for an interview, but Canada does not do interview: SOP is your only way to convey your message.

Hi..

I've been following this page for some time and reading through. I applied for a post grad and I saw somewhere in this thread...can't remember the pg now that having a 2.1 and going for a post grad instead of Msc can be seen as a red flag.

Please, has anyone gotten a study permit having a 2.1? Or should I abort mission? I need clarity, biko!
