manny4life: You miss the whole point of his post, he is not exonerating murders but simply stating why most women are the cause of their own demise. Just because you make 80k as a nurse (which isn't really accurate) doesn't mean you should disrespect your husband. That man hustled his way, filed papers for you that cost thousands, did a whole lot for you, the least you can do is respect him even if he drives taxi and you're Mrs. Alakija he made a lot of assumptions which he was trying to present as fact. It is not nigerian culture (although i cant speak for all cultures) to murder wives in the manner you people are discussing. These wives are people's children too, if your own wife or girlfriend did not murder you for your many shortcomings, then it is not acceptable for you to justify cold blooded murder. Unless you are one of the many who engage in these things back in nigeria, most under the excuse of rituals. this is one of the reasons why most people prefer to do thorough background checks before marriage, back home. You do not know what passes for normal in some. |

Nonso23: We aren't designed to be innately lazy but you in particular are designed to be a murderer? who designed you like that? satan? btw, judging senselessly (as is your wont) is the epitome of laziness, surely you are aware of this. |

carefreewannabe: I don't know, I don't have this kind of people in my environment, you might know better. God forbid bad thing. I generally dont even contribute to this type of thread because i know miscreants and sociopaths will be the majority here. but sometimes you have to do such or else craze will be accepted as normal. |

InvertedHammer: / A good number of those women come from poor families.
When they make $80k/yr, for their mind they are "Folorunsho Alakija" or Oprah Winfrey.
Bedside nursing sucks and could be depressing. But most immigrants are more interested in the dollar signs until they finally get to do the work. It sucks more if one's background is not in healthcare.
They tend to forget that it is not necessarily how much you make, but how much you keep at the end of the month..
\ you are really saying nothing (or else typing without sense, because every single thing you claimed here, is commonly applicable to all immigrants, regardless of field of work. would you turn up your nose at $80,000? are you from a rich family? If yes, why are you hustling overseas? which job is not depressing at some point? It all depends on the type of interaction or work dynamics which goes there. as per your last point, overseas is credit based economy, unlike nigeria which is cash based economy ie cash and carry, which has its pros but also leads to higher rates of insecurity, armed robbery, corruption, fraud, and other social ills. Surely you are aware of all these? But in your rush to exonerate murderers, you just had to type your two cents? anyway, lord have mercy. |

ITbomb: I was 19 and she was 21, she said she wanted a child. Her millionaire parent were getting too lonely and soon she will be getting married and leaving them and she was the only child. Therefore, she wanted to give them a child for comfort and company and I was the only eligible candidate she had came across. No strings attached, no marriage commitment, just sow the seed and go with your settlement. I foolishly said no that my firstborn should be with the father.
More than decade later I still regret that decision. At least I for know that my child is a rich kid somewhere and well taken care of and I would have made a family happy maybe they just needed you for ritual, or what do you think. |
