JiggamanGh: Okay we name our stew based on the meat we use or leaves we use.
Do you make your soup/stews with all kinds of meat like my Liberian brothers. For instance in Liberia their soup consist of all kinds of meat. One soup can have chicken, fish, pork, beef, shrimp, lamb, goat, and turkey. I think nigerians who are familiar with both cuisines, or vice versa, can answer this question better. |

Tomato stew isn't green.
Soup and stew are used interchangeably in nigeria, but stew is generally known as stew.
Pepper soup for example, is not called pepper stew because that's different. |

Yes, the stews are not watery like soups, but thicker.
They have to be thick because they're eaten with some form of carbs.
Not all the stews are green, I just mentioned egusi.
What's wrong with them being green anyway? |
Romance › Re: Reasons Why Nigerian Women Prefer Ghana Men by tpiander: 1:17am On Jul 05, 2015 |
Egusi soup or stew is green and yellow, sometimes with bits of brown.
The greens are from the veggies, nigerians eat a lot of those.
Your soups which I see on google, looks closer to the hausa type. |

JiggamanGh: Way better than the green stew you guys call soup.
First of all Nigerians don't even know what soup looks like. To make a Nigerian soup all one has to do is go outside and pick leaves on a tree and sprinkle it on eba and called it soup.
All your stew are green, no diversity at all. What you guys make is called stew, sauce, gravy but it's no soup. Its not that simple. Haven't you seen egusi soup. |
