proclinician:Keep pretending. Why are you so bothered about being called foolish btw. |
Reinventing the wheel is not as easy as people might think. When you try to remove the divisions, it can cause chaos thus it's better to be careful. Re: Anglican and Catholic in Nigeria. Let each be persuaded in his own mind. |
We are always told the reason why anybody is suffering is because their Nigerian ancestor did something bad. If you have spotless ancestors let's know . |
Does it make you uncomfortable? |
Number 1 is fighting oh. If you grew up with no fighting at all between your siblings then your family must be amazing. |
Assuming you want to choose. |
A lot of males here emphasize the fact they dont want to be obliged to any woman and prefer to opt out of relationships as quickly as possible. Share your story of how you're doing, and what you might have done differently. |
Do you feel it's your responsibility? |

You can't ignore the fact they seem much better when they are not in a marriage. Many women in particular can attest to this fact. It doesnt mean a lot of folks (Nigerians) wouldn't be very unhappy and sad if they're divorced though. But for others, they feel the benefits of freedom and independence in making decisions that help them, after a divorce. A quick glance through most of the topics and posts in family section of nl, for example, would clearly show just how much a woman is expected to put up with in the name of marriage. The men would faint or run away if asked to experience similar situations. So, how many women can keep on enduring all types of inhumane treatment just for the sake of marriage? Not everyone, just saying. Likewise the men when it applies. But for Nigerians, the woman is the one at a disadvantage 9 times out of 10. Unless she's a fire breathing witch or just very wicked, she would be the underdog. Some people simply aren't into marriage, and that's ok. We are all at different levels of evolving emotionally, some of us are still working out and coming to terms with our old experiences, our backgrounds, what we had to endure as Nigerians growing up, the poverty, etc. Marriage might intensify these emotions, instead of easing them. Sometimes people need time to mature, and come to terms with who they are now, never having left who they used to be. |
horsepower102:And what part of them proclaiming their Igbo identity have you missed so far? ![]() I guess you didn't get the memo despite it being loud and clear. Do you need the central Nigerian government to make the announcement from Abuja? |
I'm following a particular thread where a lot of issues are being raised (not that it's unusual). |
and why? ![]() |
Give your opinion. |
What is that representative persona of everything you dislike in a place and which you prefer to be silent? |
Wait, why were both of these threads transferred to romance instead of family section? |
In adulthood. |
If you're too gullible, you encourage that. |

AshiraWealthy:Romance section should actually be for females only, since females are heavily over represented in romance. My thread is more general because it specifies why do you visit, as opposed to the implication females are visitors while males are the owners of the section. https://www.quora.com/Will-women-read-a-romance-novel-written-by-a-man https://psmag.com/social-justice/dont-men-read-romance-novels-misogyny-femininity-publishing-books-92921 https://www.writersdigest.com/editor-blogs/questions-and-quandaries/publishing/are-men-writing-romance |
Founding of Nigeria give or take a few decades. |
specifically, to North America. Any earliest authentic records? |
Certainly not romance section. I think phones would be among the top ten. |
