There was a reason why Alaafin Shango (my favourite Yoruba King ever) picked Oya as his wife cos once you get to that position of power and prestige, you need a woman that will reflect it. Hence it isn't uncommon for folks to marry new wives once they attain a higher status. Ya woman has to reflect it - that is the unwritten rule. However does this questionable woman reflect that?

Err, I'm sure back in the day when kings used to take people's wives, they don't go after village who.res everyone and his father passed through already. They go after extremely beautiful virtuous women.

There have been 50 previous Kings of Ife, I can't think of just one who was monogamous. Talk less of a significant number to argue it is not the norm and tradition.

Same for Alaafin, Alake, Olowo and co.
