This scam will not die an easy death. It will linger on for a long while in its current iteration due to the zombie-like attitude of the so-called beneficiaries, especially the ones that have been in it for a while. Ask them for money, they will find it despite their sorry financial conditions.

Many have paid more this November.

The chairmen, directors etc have been told to get a linux-installed PC to handle disbursement. Imagine! I am not joking.

Now they have raised their hopes again with SEM disbursement news in the Guardian newspaper. The yearly disbursement lie, you know.

Meanwhile, many had believed SEM was dead before o.
That TELPECON is the real deal.

It's really saddening and detestable.

After the collapse of this harebrained scheme called TELPECON, Elomama and co should be called aside and given the award for the BEST SCAM ever. Because:

1. They have promised and failed numerous times and d gullible masses still believe it's real.

2. How many years now? 4 or so, isn't it?

3. The sheer number of people, especially youths who should know beta, who believe this crackpot scheme

5. Collecting and collecting and still having the power to collect more money from the ignorant masses

6. For being as nebulous as the windshield of a moving car on a raining day about the source of the grant and still being able to dupe people on a continuous basis.

7. For having no official social media channel and still be taken as official and authentic.

8. For having the audacity to play Nigerians like this.

That guy is my MAN OF THE YEAR for 2020, 2019, 2018 and 2017.

10 Commandments of Data Science

1. Focus mainly on solving the problem and not on tools, technologies, and models.

2. Data will never be clean or easily available. Data gathering and cleaning will take 80% of your time and effort.

3. Don’t underestimate the power of Excel and SQL - they are still two of the most useful tools for data analysis.

4. Simple models such as Linear or Logistic Regression will be good enough for many problems. You don’t need neural networks to solve every problem.

5. Textbook solutions may not work for most of the practical problems. You will need to try new approaches and innovate as required.

6. Nobody can remember everything. On the job, you can always use Google, Stack Overflow etc.

7. Learn Data Visualisation and develop the ability to explain your key insights in simple terms - such skills will be very useful with non-technical and business stakeholders.

8. Learn PowerPoint and storytelling - people may not appreciate your great work if you can’t convince them with your story.

9. Data Science is evolving rapidly. Please learn continuously, else you may become obsolete soon.

10. Focus mainly on solving the problem and not on tools, technologies, and models.
Like d excel part.

Haha, just checked too and it's correct.

It's possible they have not paid their hosting fee, usually something u pay yearly. Imagine this from an NGO that wants to give out trillions; they can't pay a few tens of dollars.
CrimeRe: Do You Know Anything About TELPECON? by tplayer: 5:39pm On Nov 15, 2020
There is one MTN/Access Bank(now MTN/Ecobank) scam that is ongoing now. The scammers are saying MTN wants to give people money. You just need to register with some money, they will give you MTN 4g sim plus you open an account with Ecobank. Once you do this, expect money in your account anytime. haha

In this case MTN has not come out to deny it cos their sims are selling like mad.

Disbursements will start on.... very soon, I heard so from someone who got the news recently and heard from a trusted source who was told so grin grin

EFCC will not say they are not aware of this even the CBN that has refused to debunk the rumour that such money is in their possession, this organised scam has been going on for 4 good years for heaven's sake.
They keep deceiving people with religious and professional titles; Rev, Pst, Dcon, Dr, Prof and so on.. what a shame
For good measure, check out CBN's statement
below

editorial-cbn-refutes-grant-disbursement-claims-
from-world-bank/

World Bank denied them too, just check online. It happened about 4 years ago.

Although, you could argue CBN has not done enough.

It's the names and qualification of the so-called directors that gave them away for me.

I suspect they may be internet fraudsters and not the usual MMM or pennywys guys.
Yes, big big titles.
Those doctors, engineers etc, if they really possess those qualifications, are there to add a veneer of originality and are just collecting allowances too for what they bring. In short, they were just coopted.

Eeeewww. Osanobuaa!! I just registered today using a google form link after days of prodding from a doctor friend o. I just hope he did not put money in it though I doubt it. My mind just told me to even check online and I got the link to this thread.

I just visited the website and funny enough it has a board with names and pictures of the board members. Pls how can we get the attention of EFCC to these people. We need to take them down before they wreck more havoc on innocent Nigerians.

Lalasticlala and co need to move this thing to first page abeg. It's important!!
The website is very hollow. Little content. Some Links don't work too.

Thanks for this advice. I don spend like 7k, though I started late last year. Already made up my mind sai 1kobo dem nu go get again.
I am happy, man. Happy for u.

You would have spent more had u started earlier.

For others still sitting on the fence:

There is no money with CBN to be given to some bozos to share to Nigerians, not even 1 Naira.
CrimeRe: Do You Know Anything About TELPECON? by tplayer:
Here is what will likely happen:

1) Telpecon will release some funds to a few outlets/Microfinance/cluster (whatever!) from the leftover of the monies you guys have been contributing ever since. Most monies have been shared by the scammers though, but there is probably one hundred or a few hundreds of millions somewhere. But trust me, they won't share all the leftover money.

2) They will do this to create the illusion that more money is coming, and to gain your confidence in the process. Once they play this classic confidence trick, collecting more money from the expectant, will-believe-anything crowd will become a walk in the park (very very easy). Mind you, each person in the chosen clusters will receive peanuts compared to what they are expecting. Like giving them 50-100k and telling them it's just to test the distribution process aka pilot scheme, and that more money is coming.

3) Now, what is the probability that your cluster/outlet is chosen? Statistically very small, because there are thousands of clusters and they will only choose a few (20-50 clusters). Most clusters will be chosen based on padi padi levels (though they will want to give it some spread). It is just to achieve number 2, cos there is no money--millions or billions or trillions(make your choice)-- with CBN.

4) At the end of it all, expect nothing.

Once you hear/see this play out, please, please run for your dear life!

He who's down already needs not fear any fall unless, of course, it's quicksand.
