I was shock when read yesterday( 27th July 2009) in the Guardian Newpaper which quoted Gov.Emmanuel Udughan of Delta state as saying that President Umaru Musa Yar' Adua should return PTI to Delta State. There, I learnt to my greatest surprise that the President has relocated PTI to Kaduna.

If you are an Ukwuani man who is convinced that we are Igbo by tribe or otherwise please help by sharing your view

The reason for a forum like this is to make pple learn so will appreciate your input largely on whether Ukwuani pple in Delta state have same cultural identity,trace etc as the igbos.

The truth is clear. For me God will move me from where i am to bigger place. It must not be banking job. I came from a "Nigeria family' where they struggle to make surei graduate so i wont have anybody who would place millions of naira for me to meet target just b/c of N150,000 salary at most. 150K with sleepless night,sexual assult,high expectation from friend b/c u are working in bank.I beg God dey.

House, im not going to take side on this matter. But remember that culture goes beyond langauge.What about marriage. In ukwuani, marriage is not "expensive" as it is in the igbo, the our market days are not rotational as it is in most igbo communities i know.musicals are of difernt lyrics,accents etc. consider all these.

Don't they share the same cultural traits as "the Igbo". please expantiate ur view.

we are here to learn.Put light to these points- do the ukwuani marry like the igbo,dance like them,eat same type of food,or can someone that hail from say enugu who has not had contact the the ukwuani pple nor lived in their land understand ukwuani at first instance,pari pasu?

What i mean is whether ukwuani pple have same cultural traits with "the igbos" but not whether they are "igbos". The ukwuani greet ajeh for men and oteofe for women and the language is differrent from igbo lanuage in many other dimensions. Title holders in ndokwa land where ukwuani pple reside put on red cap and bead as the igbos. Please what is ur view.

Im worried and find it difficult to convince people that we are (not) igbos.Please your view will be appreciated.
