While she was lost in her thought thinking about everything, her phone rang which she checked only to discover it was an unknown caller so she picked the call.

Tracy sat on the chair for about 30mins, she was speechless and confused by her elder brother's word she couldn't eat her food because she had lost appetite so she stood up and went into her parents bedroom where they laid but while her mother's eyes were open but when she noticed it was Tracy she quickly closed her eyes but by then it was too late because Tracy has already seen her, she took a chair and sat beside her mom and she touched her hand for her and wake up and her mom opened her eyes.


Tracy: mom what is Prince talking about, what does the tattoo or birthmark means, how did I get it.
Mom: (in a loud voice) Tracy! Pls allow me to rest aren't you satisfied with my present condition, do you intend to kill me, just look at your father his condition is even worse(her voice became sober), he hardly eats and the man of this family cannot move any part his body because of you, pls stop disturbing me (just then when her mother was still talking, the second daughter came in with a plate of food to feed them and Tracy saw her mom in tears and her dad condition she stood up and left the room).

Tracy went outside and took a stroll, while she was walking, she thought of her parent condition.
In her thought------
Tracy: so Vera and her girls did this to my parent, what a world filled with wicked people, I will make them pay even if it means taking my own life, perhaps my bro said all those things out of annoyance and frustrations, maybe I should quit school because ever since I entered it has been one trouble leading to another, (while she was lost in her thought thinking about everything, her phone rang).

By 7:00pm her three siblings came home and when the eldest son saw Tracy he was angry but didn't say anything, while the other two went and greeted her.
Tracy is the second born and the first daughter in the family, the first born who is prince is the eldest in the family, after the incident which happened to their parent, Prince took the responsibility of the family and when it was too much for him to handle, his younger ones dropped out to school to assist him, there re two sons in the family so they work as factory workers while the second daughter at first was managing her mom provision shop but her mother's debtors didn't allow her to breath so she joined her brothers and worked to assist their family.
The family gathered together as they ate their supper, at first they ate their food quietly but the second daughter (Ezinne) broke the silence by asking Tracy about her life in school.

Ezinne: sister Tracy how is life in school, have you made friends, do you stay alone in school.
Tracy: Schoolife is good though it's stressful but am use to it.
Ezinne: how many friends have you made so far, can I come visit ( she was interrupted by her elder brother)
Prince: shut your mouth and eat your food.
Tracy: come on Prince take it easy on her( he didn't allow her to finish when he shouted at her).
Prince: don't you call my name, you had the guts to sit here while our parents down in pain, I blame mom for allowing you to live, she should have left you to die in the gutter, (he stood up and went outside while Tracy sat there confused).

Even though Tracy knew about the birthmark in her back she never questioned her mom about it because she felt it wasn't necessary but due to the fact that Vera and her gang keep disturbing her she decided to question her mom about it.

Tracy: mom can I ask a question
Mom: of course, what is it
Tracy: it's about the birthmark in my back (when she mentioned the birthmark, her mom change her facial expression and she shouted at her)
Mom: there is nothing to know about it, you were born with it, end of story stop asking unnecessary questions(Tracy got angry and replied her mom)
Tracy: if it's just a birthmark then why re you angry, I deserve to know what it signify, I have never seen a birthmark with a lion's head before.
Mom: you have lost your respect for mother, so now you have the guts to reply back at me.
Tracy: I'm sorry mom but I deserve to know the truth.
Mom: why do you wanna know, how is it going to help you, what re you hiding from me Tracy.
Tracy: nothing mom but I just wish to know out of curiosity.
Mom: I'm hungry, come and prepare something for m

Tracy felt her mom was hiding something from her so she went and kept her bag, change into a casual clothe and went into the kitchen to prepare some food for her mom.

Mom: one of the girls said we should tell you that the fight isn't over until they avenge their own which you took away from them ( she holds Tracy hand) I didn't raise you to lie to me, who re those girls and what do you have with them
Tracy: (she lies) mama I don't know them, perhaps they mistook me for another girl, beside am not the only girl that is bearing tracy in school.
Mom: (sigh) I hope you re speaking the truth, but why did you not come home when I asked you to.
Tracy: I couldn't come due to the fight in my school, cultist re disturbing the students and I had to prepare for some exam (Tracy lied to her mom because she didn't want to get her worried but she quickly remembered the birthmark and decided to question her mom).

A week after the incident Tracy parked her bags to go home and check on them, she was worried because her parent's phone was always switched off each time she tried calling, on Wednesday day she parked her bag and by 10:00am she was set to go, she left school by 10:25 and board a bus home and got home by 11:00.
When Tracy got to the compound she saw two of her sisters playing outside and when they saw her they ran to call their parents but by the times they could come out to check if it was her they saw her in the doorstep so she went into the inside and stood shocked when she saw her parent lying down in the bed while their bodies was full of bandages, tears roll down her eyes and she rushed to them and tried asking what happened from her siblings, that was when she noticed three of her siblings were missing leaving only the younger ones home with their parent and even though her parent were lying weak in the bed they do open their eyes and also speak but can't move their body due to the pains. Tracy was confused of what was going on but her mother tried explaining it to her.

Mother: (talks softly)Tracy so you finally remembered you have a family, after entering the university you forgot ur family (Tracy just starred at her parent while tears kept dropping down her eyes, if only her mom knew what she had passed through the university then she wouldn't blame her)
Tracy: mom what happened to you and dad, who did this to you.
Mother: you did
Tracy: (Tracy was confused by her mother statement) mom I don't understand
Mother: Ever since you went to the university you didn't call or visit your family, we became scared thinking something bad had happened to you so I and your father went to your sch to check on you but we were attacked by some group of girls (Tracy remembered Vera's gang and got angry) it's was as if they knew who we were before they attacked and they left a message to give to you.
