RenaissanceGuy:First of all, quoting or not quoting price in an initial sales letter all result in sales. But the jury is still out on the one that yields the most result. Having said that, quoting price (I do) is part of a sales funnel. The idea is that it helps weed out 'unserious' prospects. Not quoting price will of course get you more replies, especially those asking "how much?" Those "more replies" often will stress you out with false hope. The probability that the buy-interest is strong is higher with a response to sales letter with a price than with one without a price. For the former, the prospect probably already likes the name, regards your price as a good bargain point, and is replying to see if he can get it lower/verify any claims you may have made concerning the name. While a sales letter without a price will attract responses with more diverse reasons that may not even be hinged on a seller's primary need from a prospect - genuine interest to buy. I always advise people to try several methods, then stick with what works for them. This post is just to shed a little light on what I believe is the reason for quoting a price ab initio. A seller wants only highly targeted and serious prospects to emerge at the end of his sales funnel. Time is money. |

Sanjayd1 congrats. The excitement of my very first sale years back is permanently imprinted in my consciousness. Can't forget that. Lol. |
IdeasPro:My boss, my boss. ![]() Thank you all. We march on! |
Sapiosexuality:Lol. Well it's your first time. Satisfy your curiosity, but I have told you what it is. Just know that while you wait, another domainer can come up with same name and register it before you wake up. Lol. |
Sapiosexuality:Lol. I hope you didnt tell them that you were told to register the name, because there is NO WHERE they told you that from what you posted. |
Sapiosexuality:You still haven't accepted it? Hmm. |
Sapiosexuality:Did you choose either you or SH to register, when you submitted it? With this option, they either register it (which is the current case) or ask you to register it. Here, they did not ask you to register it, and your percentage clearly shows SH will register it. If you had wanted to register it yourself, just select the appropriate option, so that if it is eventually approved, you will be the one to register it. |
I like sharing ONLY sales with stories. So I will try to keep it short bc these ones are purely grace-enabled. I am more of a brandable guy. So I decided to put a little more time in Geos and picked a few, among which is Port///Orange//Tree//Service// from ED on Sept 22. Contacted Opistorincos for enduser scrapping and requested him to scrap Port Orange, Daytona Beach, and Ormond Beach bc I found out that most arborists in that area tend to offer services across these three locations (they overlap). October 6th, I got the enduser list and started outbounding to about 120 people (including some I personally scrapped) across the 3 cities. I sent a total of 3 mails to each, some said NO as usual, most were silent. Initial mail was with a price of $450 First followup didn't include any price or reduction, instead I told them that if price was an issue, they can make an offer Second follow-up was my Black Friday discount to $300 on November 27. Same day, I got a reply from an enduser in Daytona Beach that went thus, ... "Still got the Daytona tree removal one?" I quickly searched for the name and saw it just sold on DAN. And I replied him saying, ''That one has sold. You can equally get increased exposure with Port//Orange//Tree//Service// What's on your mind?" Note that I never told him I was the one that sold the Daytona name he asked about. My thinking was that someone else pitched him with that, and he didn't respond before it sold, and he probably thought it was me that pitched it to him. While waiting for his reply, I searched and found out that Daytona///Beach///Tree///Services/// was available. I sent him another second mail thus, "But if your interest lies in your primary location, would you be interested in buying Daytona///Beach//Tree//Services//?" He replied, "You got them all don't ya lol, i'll consider it for sure. I'll get back to ya." I had to take a calculated risk and went to Dynadot and registered the name with the thought that if e no buy, I go request for refund after some days. He didn't reply for 3 days, and on Nov 30th, I sent him this, "Hello, Hope your weekend was great. Do you want both names or just the Daytona? There may be a further discount for taking both of them within our Black Friday deal window, which will end anytime. How do you want to proceed?" No reply still. On Dec 4th I sent him this, "Hello. We are nearing the end of our Black Friday sales, and prices will soon go back to normal. You indicated interest so we are holding out for you. How do we proceed?" The next day Dec. 5th, he replied that he will speak with his internet guy that night. On 6th, he asked me what deal do I have for both names. I told him $300 if he is taking one, but $250 each if he is taking both. After 3 days he said he would be taking just the Daytona for $300. I set it up on DAN same day and he paid 3 days later on Dec. 12th, and on 14th I received the bitcoin at luno. Since money don enta my account, I decided to squeeze him some more and sent this, 'Congratulations on your domain purchase. I hope it attracts more clients and revenue to your business. I was thinking, and couldn't figure out why you don't want Port//Orange///Tree////Service/// Is it the price? Since we are looking at reducing some of our domain name holding this year, I will consider any reasonable offer from you. Kindly reply and do let me know what's on your mind.' He replied, What would be a good price for the port orange one? I really don't need it but I'm not opposed go it I told him he can have it for $200 instead of the deal of $250 I told him earlier when he asked for the price of the two. After 3 days, he offered $150, I countered $170 and told him I need to take care of some fees. After another 3 days, with daily reminder from me, he told me to set it up, which I did at DAN and he paid immediately, and that brought the total consideration of the 2 names to $470 If you observed all the steps, you would agree this was purely a Grace sale. I had to put down the exact emails of some of our conversation so some of us can pick one or two things from them, AND from the timelines. Now time to scale this. To God be the Glory |
Sapiosexuality:I thought as much. Just accept it bro, they will register it and you will get 25% |
Sapiosexuality:Is this the first time SH is approving an unregistered name for you? |
Arinze96:Your heart is in the right place. |
Simpsonrocket:Lol. Your vex no even fit pop corn. |
Now I have never searched about AMEX. I just did and was surprised to see that DAN may be justified. No be only them. It appears AMEX charges merchants the highest fees among all the major credit card companies. For the 5%/9% DAN makes per sale, you will agree that they will do everything to cut high transaction fees. AMEX knows those that do not accept them. And I believe their throwing up a "Fraudulent Alert" for every transaction initiated from their "enemy" is just a vexation matter.

Digbick:Before you can learn how to sell, you must have something to sell. So first, learn how to buy domains that have GREAT potentials to sell. Believe me, e easy, but e no easy. Start from page 1. |
Simpsonrocket:You did not add the most important action.... REMOVE ALL YOUR NAMES FROM DAN. |
golamike:If someone tells you that a company will see something hindering SOME of their business success, and decide not to do anything about it, would you believe? DAN's AMEX issue is not a new thing. Anyone that is in tune with Namepros will remember when all hell was let loose by domainers over this, some of our brothers here were even in the forefront of calling out DAN because of this. ONLY DAN knows their challenges on getting over this obstacle. A company will NEVER reveal EVERYTHING to the public. I will not believe that DAN hasn't tried a great deal to erase this challenge. Remember, DAN is in Europe, while AMEX is a US company. Since we are not privileged to know everything about how DAN's cross border financial obligations are set up, we will never appreciate their "handicaps" if any. That "seller" that made that negative report has every right to say whatever he/she wants to say, but wisdom is profitable to direct. This is like cutting one's nose to spite the face. It is a self-inflicted wound. As Nigerians, we have limited platforms where we receive payment with ease, and someone is trying to scare away buyers just because he/she has freedom of speech? Sometimes, speech is silver, and silence is golden. |
SilverNorGold:There was NO rescue. They were released - meaning a business transaction has occurred. |
Nomorelove:There is a reason it's called Date of Birth, and not Date of Conception. |
