At least he has learnt the hard way. I always knew this from a tender age. Even right now the people I can share my ideas with are my family because if they steal my idea it will be for the greater good of the family. Only other people I can share my ideas with are foreigners. jaxxy: I’m sure he’s not crying bt sounding a warning for others so they don’t fall for such scams. I personally don’t believe in all those share ur ideas competitions and the likes cos I always knew there’s 80% chance of it been stolen from u with no credit even given to u. If u have a great idea look for credible partners that’s how Fb and the likes started not talent/ideas hunts. |

I can totally relate. Was in Lagos not too long ago and one man made it a point of duty to always speak Yoruba to me whenever he saw me even after telling him i wasn't Yoruba. He would teach me at least one new sentence everyday. spiceadole: That is a common practice in the South South and South East. Parents are even ashamed to speak the native dialect to their children. They bring up their kids to see the language as archaic and crude. Go to the West, the yorubas are very proud of their language. They speak it everywhere, even in the offices. And they force you who is not Yoruba to learn it because the will speak it to you |

Uncle , I didn't request to be taken out and neither did I order anything. I didn't even want to go most times and usually they'd persuade before I even accepted. They even requested I brought a friend along as they usually intended on bringing a friend too. It was eatern Europe and for some reason they loved double dates. Like I said I never ordered as I was too timid and shy to request anything so they usually did the ordering or I'd just choose to have whatever they were have. Also the entire table would must be full even though you don't end up eating most of what is there. I guess it was their tradition. Infact on one occasion someone took me to the Sheraton hotel there for a meal. He requested I brought my friend along and while on our way I was shocked and asked why he was taking us to a hotel, he then asked me to be calm that it was just for dinner. I later discovered he was quite a popular figure there. He was footballer who quit football very early due an injury only to go into movie production. So I could understand why he was able to afford that. Bottom line, I am not a glutton and never went on dates for food. The guys there were just too persuasive and it's not my fault I was taken to choice restaurants. EsotericMonk: Any guy who spends on a lady with the motive of having sex is still a learner and needs to up his game. But aunty TrapQueen, why would any lady allow a random guy spend $100 on her just for meals? It leaves more questions than answers about her orientation and her ability to draw a line in courtesy. A 3 course meal for 2 (includind wine) at a mid range restaurant in NY/London wouldnt cost more than $80, except you wantu tell us that they took you to Italian restaurants at the expat neighborhood, ehen, we can reason that one. Even if I wan chop quality Italian meals like craze, I hardly exceed £30 Even companies have a bar on the value of gifts (Which most times is below $50) employees can accept in the course of work. Bottom line, there is just a thin line. |

Girl don't act like you know it all. I know exactly what my friend does and she's 100% legit. There is always a way where there seems none. I'm not a novice and have much travel experience to know these things. There are so many things you can do to earn legit in America which don't involve full time or off campus jobs. Even here in Nigeria you have people crying for jobs but thousands of opportunities abound which they're blinded to. baby124: What is your friend doing in America? Is she a student? Then she must have a big god in Nigeria giving her money or she is doing something illegal. No student is allowed to work outside of campus and you are only entitled to the minimum wage which depends on your location. It can be $5-10/hr. You can’t work more than 20hrs a week. You can’t even pay rent with that money. Those working off campus are doing so illegally and they will be deported once caught. She must be a citizen and she’s finding it hard. People who are not citizens do not have access to student loans. Why do you think people are doing yahoo? The dream they believed like you is not real. Even the 20k you are shouting about, most families don’t have 1k in savings. In Nigeria you are cash rich but infrastructure poor. In the western world you are cash poor and infrastructure rich. It depends on what gives you security. The bae ain’t lying. A lot of students are squatters and homeless. |

You can't educate people who are utterly senseless. I have been to classy restaurants with white guys who were not even asking me to date them. All the time they spent well over $100 on the food and they never demanded sex from me. They'd still end up driving me home. Nigerian mentality is such a curse. MRSoftapples: How much is a polo or a t shirt in the market?
Not okirika o,,, even some polo sells for 10k and above.. Even before i stopped playing bet9ja visual,, we gamble not less than 6,000 naira in 3 hours,, its even small for some guys i know.. To us its an addiction before we were saved from it..
All i'm saying is that, the lady is wrong,, maybe it's the kind of guys she mingles with.. But six thousand naira on a random lady without demanding for sex is no big deal.. |
