A friend shipped TVs from US to naija and they work fine . He actually got some LG brand that can work with both the US and Nigerian voltage .

Trust me when I say the tv your friend shipped is multisystem. Those type of tv would work every where they aint specifically US spec tv. . . .

Except you are able to get an Analogue to digital converter trust me your tv wont pick any station in naija if it doesnt have an analogue tunner. secondly even with DSTV you wont get colored pictures all you would get is black and white except you get an NTSC to PAL converter. The only time you would enjoy High quality pictures on your tv is if you also get US spec Bluray or dvd player with you. I have sent such tv's to Naija and have heard feed backs from the users.

As a result I would advice you make sure that whatever tv you have is Multi system so that it can always switch from analogue to digital from PAL to NTSC to SECAM etc. . . .

About power you can easily step 240v down to 120v. . . .  Just ma 2cents!
