I think the main reason for this is that some hospitals are not equipped with enough sterilizers so as to prevent harm to the vulnerable baby. If there are too many people in the room there are more chances of infections. Also it may be because the doctors have seen men fainting at the sight of blood and chose not to allow it again. Imo its a very nice bonding experience for the family and i would want it.
