Many people are so carried away by hustling and bustling of marriage... They are so in love with the idea of happily ever after..that they forget that if proper care is not taken, their marriage might not end up being the bed of rose they've been dreaming of.

You see them upload pre wedding pictures taken in Atlanta, Dubai or beautiful places in Nigeria.

Don't get me wrong o.. I'm not saying you shouldn't get married or take unique pre-wedding pics.. But there are some things you should consider before going to the marriage alter.

Make them marriage experts epp me add more points. Thanks.


1) Do not allow your religious belief or what your pastor preach or say often about marriage dictate the kind of person you should tie the knot with

Remember, this marriage journey would last till death do you part, unless you would opt for divorce at the long run.

Many people let what their pastor or religious belief affect their life so much that they end up marrying the wrong person.. Sometimes, you just have to let love lead.. Or pray and ask GOD yourself.. Pastors are human beings too.. Nd sometimes, they let the flesh rule them thereby, misleading many people.

If you end up marrying the wrong lady or man.. Your pastor won't face the marriage ordeal for you.. You would bear the cross alone.
So be careful.. Before you take the wrong step


2) Do a blood test

Do not get blinded by love.. Before wedding, make sure you and your spouse go for blood test to confirm your genotype, and health status. Do widal tests.
Do not treat this with negligence, because it could cost you a lot.

Some people have sickle cell trait, some are oblivion to this fact.. While some chose to overlook it because of love or faith in religion.
Like I said earlier, ignorance is not an excuse. Do what is right for your unborn children

I would say the risk of giving birth to a sickle cell child is not worth taking.
It might cost you lots of money, your time, and your job, because you'd live in constant fear whenever the child have crisis, which may lead to death eventually if proper care is not taken.

3) Take your time to know your partner better

Do not rush into marriage, because it's trending.
Do not sacrifice your freedom and happiness on the marriage alter...
Take your time to know your partner better.. Remember you're going to have to live with him or her for the rest of your life.

Find out if he/she is quick to anger.. Can you help him/her overcome this problem?

*Does he take corrections or treat your suggestions or opinion like nothing?

*Are you ready to be submissive to a highly dominant partner?

*Is she the lousy type.. Or the one without proper home training.. Who would disrespect your parent at the slightest provocation?

*Is she a Mr Biggs or Mama put or Tantalizer kinda lady or a good cook? I know you won't want to take over the kitchen every day of the week why she polish her nails..

I love a guy who can cook too.. But a lady must know how to cook.. Your husband can't do the cooking everytime.

*Is she in love with who you are or what you have?

*Is he/she in love with your curves and edges, six packs, or beards alone.. What if your body changes at the long run?

My sister/brother better think twice before you answer "yes, I do"
The choice is yours?

4) Do not get carried away by material things or sweet talks

What happens when a marriage is built on a foundation of deceit?
Who bears the burden at the long run?
How would you feel if you found out that your husband or wife had lied about his/her educational background, financial status and every other thing?

Take your time to find out about every little secrets bikonu... Before marriage.. So as to avoid stories that touch.

5)Plan your future together

Before your wedding, plan your future together. During and after wedding ceremony, spend wisely. Don't imitate others..
If you want a wedding in Dubai, honey moon in Paris, but your bank is directing you to Lagos or your village.. Better do the wedding like that... Before DEBT DO YOU PART

You can always have an elaborate wedding anniversary later in future.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state on Tuesday unveiled a new Obafemi Awolowo statue in Ikeja, to celebrate his contribution to the liberation of Nigeria.



The new statue is located on Obafemi Awolowo Way by the Lagos Television (LTV) junction in Ikeja.

The statue is said to have been erected to serve as a constant reminder of the need to value the contributions of the heroes past.



Speaking at the unveiling, the governor said the story of Nigeria’s Independence 57 years ago is incomplete without extolling the contributions of late Obafemi Awolowo


According to him, the first premier of the western region and lawmaker was a leading voice for the country’s liberation.

Gov. Ambode added that Awolowo’s commitment to the growth of a united Nigeria was demonstrated throughout his lifetime

”Baba Awolowo remained a shining point during his lifetime because of his emphasis on the citizens’ welfare

“A new generation like us need to rise up to the principles he lived for especially for the Yoruba people” he added.

And for the first time in my life, I appreciate the neighbourhood I grew up.


Like I always say, I am not a heavy sleeper, any little sound wakes me up. So I was in between sleep & being awake, when I heard gunshots. Immediately, I got up & turned off the TV.
Then I heard someone knock on my gate. In fact, the person was banging on it & not knocking. I checked to see if the doors were properly locked. Even though I knew they were. I bolted them, since i only locked with the key.
Then cries of “neighbours, are you people not hearing what is happening” in Igbo filled the air.
At this point, the church beside my house turned off their generator. My gate was still being banged but this unknown voice from the next house kept shouting to create awareness. I went for my phone. Checked the time & it was 3:02am.
Someone at the next Street started beating the gong. I heard a machete being sharpened from the house behind. People started blowing whistles & the gong beater increased the rhythm. I could now hear the voices of men on the streets, talking in loud tones. I’m sure all these was done to let the attackers know the neighbourhood was awake & ready to fight back. And at this point, the banging on my gate had stopped.
There was still gunshots, but now from afar. Voices of people chuckling & laughing filled the air, from people who were bold enough to come out. I am proud of them & I appreciate. Their shouts of “onuru ube nwanne agbala oso(if you hear a sibling’s cry, do not run) gave me life.
This night was scary. I was prepared for the worst; being robbed, raped or killed.
Then I come on Facebook & I saw updates of different people saying they could hear gunshots from their end. I inboxed a friend & he said at his end, he could hear sound from an helicopter, gunshots & sirens.
Some are posting about Hausas setting houses around Osisioma-Uratta on fire, knocking on people’s houses & asking them to come out.
So who continuously banged on my gate? Armed robbers or Hausas? I will hear the hear in the morning.
Almost everyone in Aba had an experience tonight. This is my own live story & at this point, all I can say is. I’m alive, I’m fine.
If you have loved ones in Aba. It’s probably time to move.

The unconfirmed report says Shekau made this known in a latest video released by the terrorists group.

Ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration on Friday September 1, Ogun State Traffic Management Agency, TRACE, has reminded the public that the Holy Ghost Service of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, will hold same day.

Similarly, the Power Must Change Hand of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, MFM comes up on Saturday 2, while the annual Ojude-Oba Festival at Ijebu-Ode, is scheduled for Sunday, 3 September.

In a traffic advisory issued on Tuesday by its spokesman, Babatunde Akinbiyi, TRACE said the “coincidence of these ccelebrations and religious programmes suggests an increase in the volume of human and vehicular traffic, especially along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, with its attendant traffic challenges”.

”In this regard, motorists plying the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, but who are not attending the aforementioned religious programmes and are in haste, are advised to please make use of the following alternative routes:

”Sango Ota-Ifo-Abeokuta-Sagamu/Interchange-Ijebu/Ode-Benin/Ore Expressway.

”Victoria Island-Lekki-Epe-Ijebu/Ode-Benin/Ore Expressway.

”Ikorodu-Itoikin-Benin/Ore Expressway.

This is very unfortunate. A man has lost his arm following a ghastly motor accident which happened earlier today along Ibadan express way. The man who was rescued by emergency officials – has been rushed to the hospital for treatment. We pray for his survival and wish him fast recuperation.
