I have been on solar for more than 10 years and have been 99% dependent on solar for more than 4 years, yet my people have never learnt to conserve energy. 5KVa inverter will carry all my load but I got 7.5Kva becuase my people will turn on Kettle, Microwave and Toaster at the same time even when Water Heater is running in the morning.

With a fridge and freezer, TV, light, fan and phone charging, 10KWh consumption per family per day will be conservative. People tend to underestimate their power need when planning solar installation. Your power use will grow with solar or with constant NEPA.

The sad part about solar people hardly talk about and for the one's that talk about it, people hardly listen.

It is a known fact, that energy consumption increases after solar installation. A simple online search will show many articles on this fact.

This is why it is recommended to, as a bare minimum start with 24v but if its possible just go 48v all out at once.

Solar is more expensive if you start on 12v or 24v and your energy demand increases so much that you may need 48v for efficiency. And then, if total load requires 36kw peak and above, then a higher voltage is even better. That's why most inverters above 20kw are HV inputs.

Solar can be cheap, if you get it right the first time. It can also be costly and take up more space per kwh if you undersized from the get go.

Hello to everyone.pls is it possible and ok to use a 48v lithium battery with a 24v inverter,a friend said his installer said its ok. he was using 24v 400ah tubular before and just got 48v 5kwh lithium so i thought he will need to change inverter but he said the installers said no need. Appreciate your answers for clarification.

I tried it yesterday and it didn't burn, the only thing is that the ups didn't go off cos it's connected to electricity and we had light,
I can only power off the ups mode and if u switch it off from the phone when there's light it won't go off but when Nepa take the light the ups mode won't come on because it's still off from ur phone

Its a ups so it can allow the light pass thru without having any issue. It just wont charge the battery as it wont see it

I have about 3 or 4 ups,
U why I say it won't destroy it, solar charge controller is also connected to the battery and it I put it off from phone the charge controller display goes off as well, it won't charge same with the ups, switches off,
The digital display on charge controller comes back on when I put it back on from phone
I will use one for testing,
I doubt it will destroy the ups

I don't have light now and I tried switching off the ups from my phone and it worked and I dey room ooo, I put it back on from my phone and the ups came back on,
Note: the ups switch on the ups itself must be ON

That's why all I see it does, I send screenshots as the way it is on my phone app,
As for load, I no wan overload am with too many appliances cos na small battery I buy,
The big TV in sitting room is off when there's no light, so I power with either the 19inch small TV in sitting room and rechargeable fan or with 22inch in bedroom with rechargeable fan and I also use in charging of phones and rechargeable lights all I do is check from the app on my phone how long it will take to before the battery is depleted and if the time is less, I will just reduce load and check time again
