This is what I fear the most. Imagine spending millions of naira then one so called professional come mess your work up

The landlord has a share of the problems too. Whenever I hear or read about a client that went with an Installer to market, or went to market themselves and then wants an installer to come install, especially when the client has little to no knowledge of market tricks or installation experience, I just feel they are setting themselves up for trouble.

I recently had a client that wanted to install a 5kva, 15kwh lithium system. I was recommended to him.

I went there did audit, discussed different options bla bla bla. I drew up three different quotes later and sent to this guy, after days of market searching and what not.

After sending him the quotes, my guy said he has run low on cash and is waiting for salary for the month. Month end camd and went still no response, so I sent some messages but he didn't reply after reading my messages. I contacted the wife to ask if he was ok, she said yes that he is just having car issues and is repairing it. I was wondering why car problems will make you not reply simple Whatsapp chat.

I just went silent and went about my normal life.

Few days later, baba called that he is in Alaba, he has gotten the battery, the inverter, this, that...I was like ๐Ÿ˜ณ...then he said he wants to pick up panels that should speak with tye seller to confirm if they are original etc. I turned down the request that's I don't do that, especially since that is someone's business and I didn't direct him there.

Long story short, he bought fake panels (likely 250w rebadged as 400w), over priced protection devices setup, not very original PV cables etc etc. At the end of the day, he was still complaining that he spent more than his budget. I just ๐Ÿค

Thanks , but remove the battery in this equation. Is there a way around?
Let cloudy day be cloudy.

Put a battery. You could damage a phone or something if you don't.

Running a DC fan off PV directly is a totally different case from charging phones off of PV only. Not to talk of multiple phones

Not 260V.
we have High voltage starting at 36V now.
this is Sako 1.64KW watts panels producing 1.43KW with only 4 panels rated at 31Vmp
total input is 113V from PV

What brand of panels are these? And what time of the day was this taken?

please answer this questions

1. what is the battery voltage when is shows 100%
2. what is the Voc of your Charge controller.
3. how was the panels connected, in series, parallel or mixed.
4. what is the panel Voc.

I have a feeling these questions are too technical for her at this stage .

Yes meanwhile have been charging it since yesterday with constant light together with Panel but still wonโ€™t get a fully charged battery
You put about 2.5kva load on your lead acid battery?!!!

How are we even sure the panels capacities are real, the size of PV cables are optimal, etc

Your installer didn't give you Dos and Don'ts for your type of system Abi na those type of installers wey de promise 24hrs on top 2 battery....wahalad.

Let me give you some tips for this battery
1. Ideally You shouldn't load your batteries more than about 500watts.

2. You should not use your battery below 50% which is roughly around that 24v you are seeing.

3. Ensure electrolyte level is within range using the hydrometer screwed on it.

4. Ensure your battery charges till float after every deep discharge

The problem is I just did the setup just few days ago and Iโ€™m new to solar system but my observation for the few days is donโ€™t take that long for the panel to charge it let say 3hrs but once itโ€™s evening time and I try to put it on the battery is always on either 70% or 66% so I really canโ€™t tell when itโ€™s fully charged.

Were you told of any 50% usage rule?

I installed the old model PowMr CC yesterday for a boss, and with lithium battery.

On setting it up, I noticed the menu now has a D05. I used to know the menu stops at D04

So I'm curious, if anyone has noticed it and what is it's function. The manual is silent about it even.

CC @ linnov8

Attached is the new menu noticed. Anyone please?

Upgrade to a senior man's system...from 800w to 2.35kw..

Got CC from linnov8

*PV installation was constrained to be without much space underneath, for air circulation.

Images from new to old.

Total battery storage of your system is 24vdc x 220ah = 5280whrs

Total wattage coming from your panels assuming 4hrs sunshine is 5720whrs

NB: You don't even need all the 5280whrs to fully charge your batteries because you cannot drain your batteries to zero.

Thanks

Shouldn't this advice be given with a caveat? If the battery has load always on it, then the solar charging is reduced. The higher and longer the load stays on the battery the lesser the charging it gets.

2 units of Jinko decommissioned 320w and 325w panels available.

Both 150k.

Location is Lagos, but can be way billed outside Lagos.

2 PCs of 430 watt at (150k) = 300k
2 batteries of 200ah at (360k) = 720k
35 meters wire of 4 mm at (3300) = 115,500
inverter = 125k
Transportation = 20k
Installment = 60k
Total = 1,340,500

This is the quote I was given, but I intend on removing one battery.

How did this go?

Guy man, I got scammed 17m last year. Money when I been wan use start China import side business. Since then, one kind paranoia dey worry me when I wan invest money for any project. Make una no vex for here.

Good to know you have realized your mistake. Being scammed is not good enough reason to be discourteous to a group of people you came to seek assistance from, especially where experiential knowledge is shared FOC.

My one advice, take any all in one, power solution you see with a pinch of salt. Since it's a stop gap you need, just put your expectations to around 70% of their rated capacities.

Cheers bro.

Combining in parallel defeats the purpose (I'd av to climb the roof again to reconfigure) and requires bigger wires. Using a 6mm wire already
Its a 300w panel with abt 9a of current though max i av gotten is 4.
Already mentioned its a 2kva12v hybrid inverter with mppt volt of 30-400vdc. Just feel it doesnt charge well wit solar which is why I'm considering getting a seperate mppt charger. Plan B is to add another panel and see if there's any change.

Hope they are not lower capacity, relabelled panels.

Check your panels, azimuth angle, elevation angle and shading. These three things must be as close to optimal as possible.

no motor needed for that, just a small mechanical mechanism

Will still pull more load from the main rotor moving the whole thing. It will pull more power but not very significant.
