Your question should be how good the battery is, it’s very cheap and affordable but quality uncor if to say you Dey near me I for say make you come carry my own bought it last month.

I have bought a unit from them and paid before pickup. I didn't pickup myself, but rather had a regular dispatch guy on bolt do the pickup for me.

I told him what I wanted him to pickup and that he will need to snap the battery before he leaves.

It went well. And I've since installed the battery.

No complaint so far.

I like that they use a BMS with Bluetooth too.

So i have been following this tread for some time and from poplular recommendations to others , I was convinced and then I ordered and received a 3.2kwh battery from a buider on this forum. The delivery was fast, no delays. Although the set did not come with any accessories, no baterries cable etc . This was as stated by the builder. ....(only the battery box in a plastic build with a small bms screen and a button). All as advertised. So no issues there. This setup cost #550k (delivery inclusive). All i got in addition was the waybill receipt

The truth is, my friend who ordered for a 26.5v(100Ah) itel 2.5kwh battery, received theirs yesterday:
To my supprise, the itel battery Bank alone was 2.5 to 3 times heavier than mine, the setup was built in a solid steel housing case, has 3 internet communication ports, and 3 other advanced looking ports. Came with ALL the comm ports cables, also came with two 20 mm solid +/- battery cables , 3 year warrenty card, thick steel wall brackets, metallic wall screws, some addtional bolts and nuts and many more.
And all this cost #481k (including delivery fee).

Now I know why people crave the itel battery pack.

Although I have to say I over expected much for mine, but the person i bought mine from did not give me the kind of attention(as a first time customer as i would have wanted) the response sometimes was quite slow (had to literally push for any information with response coming anything it comes) no step by step on how to do much. I had to ask about value to set for bulk and float etc, Had to push and ask or most times google some stuff on my own. (I am not saying the seller did anything wrong o) but sincerly I dont think I may patronise the person in the future.I like my business partners to be approacheable irrespective of the value or amount involved in the trade......(my choice)

So, the itel on the other had virtually a full hands on manual that explains EVERYTHING you can do, clearly defined warranty card and many more quality of life stuffs you know.....

Although, I for one became a bit skeptical about the build i received (when i recall the itel heavy weight and quality) but everytime i checked the jk bms app, i showed all the cells adds up to 3.2kwh (see image). Even still, my mind still tells me I should have gone with the Itel due to its solid built, wall handing capability, solid customer and aftersales support, the quality of work and support it has.
(I thought going for "3.2kwh" was better than "2.5kwh" so i had to stop my initial itel order for the local build).

Looks and aesthetics or actual capacity?

Because if you search well, you will probably see a factory built battery of 3.2kwh and then the cost of it as well will go with it.

I'm not saying the local builder did well or not. Customer service can always be improved on, but eventually usable capacity and quality cell build should be uppermost in priority.

Your cells look very balanced. Some factory units I know can't do 28v without tripping cell over voltage protect.

My take on your submission.

I took this very wasteful route before.

Tell him to buy QC 3.0 DC charging modules. If he have patience, order from temu or AliExpress.... But if patience no dey, buy from jiji and have it waybilled to your location

To power it, take it to electrician to soldier live/Neutral wire directly in the back where the pin indicates because the thing gets quite hot with power pin and power pins spoil easily...

So take the charging modules to electrician to soldier live/neutral wire to the back ... Now connect all the wires by polarity to the charge controller or battery and boom ... No need for expensive chargers again

If a charging module burn (very rare) just take it to electrician to repair it.

Don't mind my haphazard method... I connected all the live together and put the neutral I to the socket so I can just pull out the neutral wire to turn off a particular charger.

You can buy wall light switch and call electrician to wire it for you so you can be turning a particular charger on/off by just pressing the switch

😊....you just let out a powerful secret.. I have done my studies well, and DC charging is the most efficient for USB chargers. You could be saving up to 30% energy that would have been wasted if you used an AC source.

I once asked a guy here that said he sells power if we could link up, but na air he air me....I just smiled.

If you are doing DIY, please crimp your wires well, and get a tool if possible. I was having issues with my cables burning one after the other (17 kwh battery running >5000 W at peak). Until a friend came by and found out my cables were not crimped well.

That is why some people have hydraulic crimping tools. I lost several cable lugs and wire sections before I saw the issue. Crimping with muscle and pliers and crimping with a crimping tool is not the same. Your muscle cannot out-crimp a crimping tool.

If you are not ready to spend and learn, leave DIY and buy from people who know what they are doing. There are so many things battery builders and other solar specialists have learnt from painful experiences. For instance, where they source materials, as there are too many fake products. (I have bought more than 7 improperly rated breakers; the last one I changed was tripping at 40A, although it was rated 63A). Don't cheap out on important components.

This thread gave me the courage to build a 17kwh battery myself, at greater overall cost than Valto or Reed, cos I made some mistakes and had to buy some tools, but my subsequent builds should be less expensive. I knew it would be that way but I still went in for it.

Depending on their capacities, you may need to introduce a busbar system.

Your installer needs to reduce or re arrange your panels so they don't exceed the maximum allowable voltage for the inverter.

Budget like 60,000 naira to buy USEd DC fans; don't bother about their battery because you get to reUse your solar system's batteries. That way, your solar system would rarely know something is sharing battery with it even if you leave the FAN ON overNight.

Often I tell people, we waste money trying to run Solar systems; and that ends up making it too costly

@bolded, can be a trick to save some thousands or waste it. You have to be able to do some basic repairs or troubleshooting to be able to use these rejected "solar fans" or rechargeable fans.

I recently checked a local fan repairer and picked up a neat Iwin fan for 20k. (Online it was between 85k to 100k+)The AC port doesn't work but the DC does so I use it with a DC adapter.

The fan will work and stop repeatedly.

So one day I devoted time to open it up and found out the wire to the fan motor was hand twisted making it to have partial contact.

I soldered the wire back, took time to oil the main fan motor and the swing motor. I Coupled everything back and it's been blowing like crazy without any issues.

Guys I need help. I have haisic 8kwh and the 5kva inverter. 8 pieces of 620 watts. Yesterday I was working and my light tripped off by 2pm. It was strange. I went to check what happened. Only to see error 8 on my inverter. I noticed the dc circuit breaker was fried. Called my solar guy. He said that my breaker was too small since I was using higher voltage panels. He got a new breaker and connected last night. This morning I noticed. It was not working. Turned the breaker on and there was no sign on the inverter that it is seeing the panels. I am only running on battery. When I try to switch the breaker on to pass the solar to the inverter. I hear sparks in the dc breaker. Even on this new one

Breakers are over current protection devices. That installer needs more training.

Don't know if you have got a solution to this.

Your load and charger are the same terminal. So basically the monitor sits between the battery and the hybrid charger.

To the best of my understanding, the inverter will only pull the amps that it needs.

Well, if you add up the cost of a 3kw sachet inverter and the cheapest MPPT controller I would recommend, the price is already about same price as these units. I'll recommend a hybrid, but the ultimate decision is yours.

i hope you are all doing good. please i need advise on how i should “design” my setup with a budget of 900-1m (including workmanship). i want a 24v system with a DIY battery (i have mrreed on my mind) but the headache i’m currently facing now is choosing between an hybrid inverter (1.5kva) or a pure sine wave sachet inverter (3000watts) because of my budget.

i want something that can allow me put on my hisense table top fridge (95ltrs) during top peak sun hours while still having my laptop plugged in, phones, a fan (that eats up 92w), 4 akt bulbs and a washing machine in the future (if it can conveniently consume the load but not a deal breaker).


p.s: i live in the ground floor of a storey building, i do not plan to charge the battery with input from electricity at all.

Not sure you've been attended to, here's my take:

1.5kw Bread hybrid inverter - 230k (good to have an option to charge with grid or gen, when needed)
3.8kwh lithium -mr reed- ~450k
4 * 580w clean used panels (with screen cracks)- 360k
4 * 620w new Jinko panels- 488k

Workmanship and labour is between you and installer.

Good thing, you can( and should) increase your panels as time goes on, since you are totally off grid. Reach out to me for the panels and inverter if you may.

Not sure the battery in the haisic is full capacity, but it's still a better deal than the ecoflow. Although the ecoflow had app and some neat monitoring from your phone.

Although the ecoflow has less battery, it has a more capable inverter that can power your freezer. What you should be looking out for is the max pv input for the ecoflow.

When it comes to freezers initial surge is usually high and can go up to 800w. If that is the case with yours then the powertank won't serve you with that freezer because the inverter is 500w max.

But with 600k for the ecoflow, u can get a 1.5kva 12v hybrid (200k) inverter and a 4kwh lithium battery at 450k which is by far a much better deal.
