Family10 Money Saving Tips To Transform Your Finance by tripua(op): 5:21pm On Jan 04, 2017
Someone talked about small drops of water from a tap that eventually got a bucket filled overnight. I call it the principle of droplets. A little naira here, a little kobo there, you are loosing money. You see banks posting profits in billions, those billions are actually from the 1naira, 5naira, 50kobo from you. You can achieve transformation in your finance by using the principle of droplets to your advantage.

1. Use your Bank ATM (Automatic Teller Machine): It is no longer news that banks will charge certain amount from the transactions on their ATM with another bank’s debit card after a number of transactions. You should plan your withdrawals such that you don’t have to keep running to ATMs, use your bank’s ATM machine as much as you can and don’t use other bank’s machine more than the stipulated time.

2. Go for quality products: You are actually not saving money when you go for cheap products that will soon loose its worth. Consider the effectiveness of what you are buying and go for it even if you have to pay more. It is better to pay a little more for a product that will last long than buying a product whose durability cannot be guaranteed at a lesser price.

3. Ask for the best deals: Don’t be deceived, everything is negotiable including bread and school fees. We grew up to believe that certain things are not negotiable, nothing can be more untrue. Ask for the boss and negotiate. Many discount deals are usually not publicized. A man got a huge rebate on the fees of his children in a tertiary institution by simply asking to see the bursar and got the fees discounted since he is paying for more than two children.

4. Plan your buying: Be a smart buyologist. You will save some money when you plan what you need to buy. Buy in bulk from the major markets instead of running around your street when you suddenly remember you need to get an item. For example, buying 10 bulbs of onions from a neighborhood market will save you some money than buying 1 bulb of onion from the shops on your street.

5. Cut on utilities: It will amaze you how much you can save by cutting on unnecessary phone conversations. Talk is actually not cheap, most times, you are either wasting time or wasting money. Nigeria is one of the highest spenders on recharge cards in the whole world! Drop the call as soon as you’ve passed the message, do a text if it will be cheaper to do so. Switch off the light if you are not using it at the moment, switch of the generator if there isn’t any need putting it on.
6. Budget: Prepare a budget that capture your monthly, weekly and daily spending. Organise your spending including giving so much that if a spending is not captured in your budget, it has to wait and of course, avoid budget padding. If its such an emergency, prepare a supplementary budget and record your expenditures. If impulsive spending will land you anywhere, it will either land you in debt or make a begger of you.

7. Avoid debts: Why buy what you don’t need on credit? Buying anything on credit is running on a negative account. If you have to borrow, it should be on something that has the capacity to pay for itself e.g business and then you can apply the principle of “borrow not a few”.

8. Automate your saving plan: You’ve heard about paying yourself first i.e saving first before spending. But truth be told, this may not be easy! As a way forward, walk to your bank and make a standing order that certain percentage of your income be automatically debitted into a dedicated savings account. You can also set limits to how much can be withdrawn from your account in a month.

9. Don’t go if going is not very important: If you track your finance, it will shock you how much you can save by avoiding unnecessary trips and moving up and down hopping motorbikes, cabs or burning fuel. If it’s not important, don’t bother going.

10. Avoid get rich quick schemes: Many of them are traps to make you loose money. Check all the ponzi schemes, they have one thing in common, they sound too good to be true. Thats enough reason why you should run. And if you look closely enough, you will notice that these schemes change the rules in the middle of the game.

A very Happy New Year to you.

Family10 Things You Need To Do Better In The Coming Year by tripua(op): 8:03pm On Dec 22, 2016
Very soon, text messages will start rolling in with loads of prayers and wishes for the coming year. As fantastic as the messages and wishes may be, a year one does not take responsibility for may not have the best to offer. The ten points discussed here are proven and guaranteed measures to a life that will be far better than ordinary.

1. Be committed
Let it be that whatever you will be found doing has all of you. From January to December, there will be lots to do but there is no point doing them if you will not give them your all. All you will do must get all of you. Our society will be good for it if we have more committed father, mother, husbands, wives and even children. Whatever role you have to play must be played with the whole of you. You may never get something tangible out what you do not show commitment to.

2. Be disciplined
Discipline is the core of any resolution that will work. Life is guided by principles that must be stayed true to.
Writing New Year resolutions require only a pen and a paper but living in the reality of the resolution takes discipline. It is what nobody but you can do for yourself. If you say you are done with certain behaviours, deploy the will to stay true to your word. It may not be easy, but deploying enough discipline will help you in no small measure.

3. Imbibe Order
In the school of increase, order is the principal. Let round pegs adorn round holes and square holes be adorned with square pegs and watch growth take place. Anything short of this is an open invitation to chaos. Put your life in order, let your finances be in order, put your daily to-dos in order. Put lines upon lines, precepts upon precepts and unprecedented increase will take its natural course.

4. Give (will you?)
Your time, your money, your smile, your words, your encouragement, your compliments and other resources are seeds in the hand of the sower (You). The beauty of it is that whatever you give is coming back to you not just in a full measure but in multiple measure. There is no definition of service more true than giving.

5. Pay attention to your health
You shouldn’t be paying doctors salary from your hard earned money. What shall it profit a man to garner all the millions in the world and say to himself “eat and merry” only for cancer, high blood pressure or stroke to show up to say no way. Give attention to your health, schedule yourself for health screening. Why? Because prevention is an all-time less expensive measure than cure.

5. Eat Right
You must eat right and interestingly, eating right is less expensive than eating junks. If you doubt it, order for a place of rice with chicken or beef from the closest fast food outlet and then order one pack of cucumber, one bunch of banana, one pack of carrot and one ball of water mellon. Eat loads of fruits and vegetables, drink lots of water, know when to eat heavy meals and when not to. Your body will thank you and reward you well by cooperating with you.

7. Mend the Bridges. Your network determines your net worth. That is how it has always being. You won’t go far without people, particularly the right people. Nobody can live in isolation. You need to build relationships and amend the ones you already have. Top on the list is your family. At the end, it may turn out that all you’ve got is your family. Make it an obligation to return calls, return messages and schedule occasional check up on people.

8. Get rid of fear
Fear stands for “False Emotion Appearing Real”
If not dealt with, fear needs no collaboration with any other factor to hold you down. Conquer consequences even before taking the action. Approach life with boldness.

9. Keep learning
Take it to heart to learn from everything that comes your way. Learn from people, places and experiences (Be it personal or from others). Read as much as you can, listen as much as you can. Covet exposure and commit things you learn into action

10. Just do it
Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing NOW. Overcome procrastination,it has never being profitable.
Procrastination is a destiny killer. No matter how small that action seems, do it now. Small deeds are what get big dreams accomplished.

For every point that has been raised… Just do it!

CareerVital Questions You Must Answer To Really Transform Your Life by tripua(op): 6:20pm On Dec 14, 2016
A life constantly committed to getting better and achieving unhindered growth and personal transformation is a life that has answers to the questions of life. What makes a difference in the lives of those truly living and those living in a mirage of the life they’ve always wanted is the answers they gave to the important questions in life.

The least everyone can do for him or herself is to become useful for him or herself. That you are useful for yourself is enough relief for the society and those who are truly useful for themselves have a way of becoming useful for the world in a chain of influence. The chain of influence can begin from one to two and then the number continues to grow.
Kindly take a piece of paper and a pen and come on board on this journey of self discovery as you take time to answer the following questions with utmost sincerity. In life, he who has the answers gets the hamper!

1. Who are you?
2. What do you believe in? What do you stand for?
3. What do you really want to do with your life?
4. What do you think about most of the time?
5. Do you believe in yourself?
6. How do you want to end your days on earth?
7. What are your three biggest worries in life?
8. If you have just six months to live, what will you do with the little time?
9. How are you doing as far as your vision in life is concerned? Do you have a vision?
10. What do you do well that others struggle with?
11. What do you struggle with that others do effortlessly?
12. If you take a critical look at your life (at least in the last twelve months) are you appreciating or depreciating?

Do you find your answers fascinating, impressive, encouraging or depressing? The best person who can provide answers to these questions is you, the answers are there inside of you! Look inward and watch yourself transform your life.

LiteratureThe Crazy Tale Of A Writer by tripua(op): 6:11pm On Dec 14, 2016
A very funny enigma once lived on the shores of Africa, Nigeria actually, the south western part to be precise. The man claimed his brain is in his wrist. Our brain is in our head one would thought to him or herself but to this man, Gbenga Adeboye, his brain is in his wrist because whenever he picks up a pen, current of ideas flows from his wrist to his pen and then to his paper and when he stands to present the things he has written, the world stands in awe!

Crazy describes writers. You may not understand if all you do is copy a birthday message. You will understand if you’ve deleted a message up to three times before coming up with something worthy enough just to wish someone Happy Birthday. That describes the trouble of writers because for every sentence you see, there are a couple of sentences that has gone into the trash bin and for every line you eventually see written, there are a couple of lines that had to give way. The woes that go into original content writing can only best be imagined. It’s amazing how you start with a line and watch the line grow into paragraphs and then into pages.

A writer draws inspiration from funny places in crazy ways or how will you describe a man who leaves his exotic SUV but prefer joining crowd public bus because he gets things to write when he is in one or the man who all you need do is to put him in the ambience of a cool and calm flowing spring. If you put such person in an air conditioned and tastefully furnished room, don’t be surprised if the flows doesn’t come because the coolness of air condition does not take the place of the coolness of sitting beside a spring. Such a man will not mind traveling miles to a river bank to draw inspiration. Someone said, Oh! I hate washing plates but I’ve come to force myself to love doing the dishes because ideas keep flowing when I wash. It will be right to say I hear voices that tell me things.

This perhaps explains why writers does not take it lightly when there works are copied or plagiarised without due credit. Nothing is wrong with sharing what someone else has written but the least you can do is to give credit as required.

This piece is written to celebrate everyone who has written one piece or the other, those who have reached out a hand and has pulled someone up with something worth reading. The man and woman who write jokes, the man and woman who write poems, the man and woman who write songs, the one who write letters, articles, even simple birthday messages…the one who blogs and does so with all genuineness…the one who dares to express his or her thought in words and is bold enough to have people read it. The impact may seem little but cannot be denied and there is no such thing called little impact. Impact is impact!
May your ink never run dry and may your current of ideas never stop flowing, may your source of inspiration never run dry.

How do you get inspirations? please share with us!

PoliticsLetter To The Wailers And Their Non-wailing Counterparts by tripua(op): 6:02pm On Dec 14, 2016
This letter is about the law of victims and the call to responsibility

Dear wailers and non-wailers, the law of Victims is a law by which anyone on a mission to enjoy true freedom must x-ray him or herself with. Particularly freedom in becoming all one can be and all one should be.
It states that you can’t be a victim if you don’t relinquish power to someone capable of making you a victim.
People who don’t take responsibilities are victims. Some of them are born victims and instead of trying to improve their lives, they fold their arms and give up. For them, it is only government that has the solution to their problems. They look out and contract out their responsibilties to some other entity.

They refuse to take the driver’s seat of their own lives. They abdicate the captainship of their lives sometimes at a fee (you’ve heard of different sum of money for a vote) to an handful of integrity lacking individuals whose only achievement in life is a couple of medal they gathered deceiving people and if you watch them closely, you will see that they have no commendable track record of personal growth or any commendable pattern of personal transformation. But because of their questionable access to huge crisps of naira notes and other denominations alike, we label them “Messiah” and sing Hosannah in different languages under the auspices of our acclaimed religious sect.

You see, when a politician promises you heaven on earth and you later discovered that he deceived you, it’s your fault. You didn’t take time to do due diligence and didn’t investigate. The handwriting was on the wall, but you didn’t read it. You ignored the reasoning of logic in your head, you are therefore a victim of your own ineptitude. Of course, some will come out to brag that they didn’t vote. Let’s tell such people that a non vote is a vote. That you didn’t vote is in itself a vote. There is no one to be shortchanged but you.

The responsibility therefore lies on you to own up and say, I got it wrong, I will rise up from complaining and I will make things right.
And then it is so easy to curse and complain, it’s so easy to call leaders all sort of names blaming everybody else but yourself, complaining about water, road, power, and every other thing and that include those who have been given the opportunity to turn things around for good but squandered it. The question is, what have you done and what will you do for yourself and for the society other than bemoaning.

As we speak, the economy is down, several states cannot pay salaries, no reserves, many state lack valuable blueprints, the governors are using debt to pay debt and you ask, how did we get here?. The answer is simple…we relied on government, we relinquished every responsibility to the government. We use the word “they” in the context of government instead of including ourselves when everyone is actually suppose to be a part of any government in the land.

We have become a nation of economic rascals whose only plan is to spend and consume with little or no plan as to how to replenish what is being spent. We have become a nation where unfettered spending on assorted extravagance write our future in very bleak ink.
We must rise up, each man for himself and agree that we orchestrated our own doom and realise that if we refuse to take responsibility for our choices and decisions, we will only be recycling the process of downturn.

We must be willing to do what we have been waiting for God to do. So in the absence of true leadership, must stand up, stop complaining, get direction and show the world that those who take responsibility for their lives rules in life to the shame of those who feed fat on our commonwealth without having any clue on how to turn the future around.

Yours in Transformation

Thanks guys smileyThanks guys
HealthSee how you are gradually killing yourself! by tripua(op):
7 Popular But Very Unhealthy Practices You Must Stop

1. Eating When Actually Not Hungry, Especially Snacks
This habit or practice is very common amongst people. They have made eating an escape mechanism or a coping device against boredom, anger, sadness, frustration, failure or success. People have taken to eating a lot of snacks to cope with any of the above.
However, this practice is most dangerous to the health because it eradicates or weaken the Hunger signals. You don’t actually know when you are hungry (which is the time you should eat). Losing touch with your body’s natural hunger and satisfaction signals can lead to chronic overeating and unhealthy extra weight that can lead to diabetes, heart disease, and other serious conditions. Your popular and regular sausage rolls, potato chips, plantain chips, banana chips, waffers with all manner of sweetened and carbonated drinks will only flood your system with unhealthy ingredients. Eat for the right reason, because you’re hungry! Stop mindless eating: If snacking is an old, bad habit, ban unhealthy food from your home. – Replace junk food with real food. Stock your kitchen with fruits, veggies, nuts, and low-fat, whole-grain products. – Plan snacks like you do meals

2. Skipping Breakfast
This is one of the most dangerous practices ever! It is most common in Lagos Nigeria especially among the “working class”. The hustles and burstles of a typical Lagos life won’t make some people consider taking breakfast! Some wives have understood the importance of breakfast, they will quickly help their husbands to pack them along *(it will be too sad if they lose their husbands to the piled up effects of skipped breakfast). If you can get your breakfast packed for you, that should be the first thing to attend to before the busy day begins, else you will return the food home, and that of course will piss off your wife.
OK, I need to let you know that your breakfast is the *MOST IMPORTANT MEAL in a day! Skipping the first meal of the day can have serious consequences for your weight, your energy levels, and even your blood sugar. Skipping the fuel keeps your metabolism running on low, which can lead to weight gain and sluggishness. You’ll also create a starve-now-indulge-later eating pattern, which is why breakfast-skippers tend to overeat later in the day. Don’t try to beat the traffic and beat your health to a pulp!

3. Drinking Too Much Alcohol
If you over-drink on a regular basis, alcohol can be a poison. Women who regularly consume two or more drinks a day and men who regularly down three or more are at higher risk for liver damage, various cancers including those of the liver and mouth, high blood pressure, and depression. Women, who are more sensitive to alcohol, can also develop heart disease, brittle bones, and even memory loss.
WHY YOU SHOULD STOP: Soon after you cut back or quit, your digestion will improve and you’ll sleep more soundly. Your blood sugar will be lower and steadier, your blood pressure may fall toward a healthier range, and even your brain will bounce back. You’ll have a healthier liver and cardiovascular system.

4. Eating Too Much Of Fast Food
This may sound weird but it’s a fact that a lot of people depend so much on fast food and it’s very unhealthy. 9/10 young people in a date will rather prefer to visit a fast food than a zoo! Bankers rarely eat any other thing outside the fast food. There are countless fast food joints in Nigeria.
A steady diet of double cheeseburgers and fries washed down with an oversize soda or milkshake often leads to a bigger waistline and other related health problems, like heart disease and diabetes. Trans fat, often found in fast food, raises ‘bad’ cholesterol and blood fats that contribute to hardening of the arteries, as well as firing up inflammation, which contributes to the build-up of fatty plaque in artery walls. Fast foods are expensive and yes they bring expensive predicaments too! Watch it.

5. Spending Too Much Time On The Couch Watching TV
I love Jeniffa’s Diary on Sundays, and thank God it’s only for 30 minutes, Channels TV news is one hour, BPL matches are only on weekends!
When you stay on the couch for too long watching TV, your body gets inactive and you are pressed to sipping a few drinks from your refrigerator to enjoy your movies or programs. This store down and store in some more body weight for you, your eyes become sore having strained the veins, you get a few headaches from such movies or programs if they ended disappointingly, it becomes more challenging to find a proper sleep and so on…watching TV daily shouldn’t be more than 2 hours! Watch your time and do more physically engaging activities.

6. Car Comfort
Funny enough, this appears harmless but not good a practice! Get out of the comfort zone and trek to church with your spouse and kids. This is good especially for people on the bug side who need to actually trim down. Trekking strengthens your joints and bones, puts you in a good mood and ensures your internal health is enhanced. Get the warmth of the environment sometimes rather than the A/c of your posh car!

7. Suya-Syndrome
A lot of people of course will not like to see this but it’s the truth that smoked foods have been linked to cause various types of cancers and other related diseases.
Suya is usually prepared and taken late evening which makes it worse. As tasty as it is, it shouldnt be an addiction, as I know some people will never be able to do without it in day. Smoked Barbecue Fish, Sharwarma, etc should be taken moderately. The smoke from the coals and or charcoals are not good at all for your health!

PoliticsHow To Make People Like You!! by tripua(op): 5:57am On Dec 03, 2016
1. Be interested in people. You will make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you will in two years trying to get other people interested in you. Use less of the word I, I, I...the world is not just about you! Greet people with enthusiasm. Say hello in tones that bespeak how pleased you are to have the person on phone.

2. You will make a good first impression by the expression you put up particularly a sincere smile. A smile says I like you. It says you make me happy. This is what a dog does for a living and that's why everyone loves a baby. Smile, there is still joy in the world.

3. Do you know how important people's names are to them? Stop giving the excuse that you are not good with names. A person's name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language. Make it a duty to remember people's name!

4. Be a good listener and you will be a good conversationalist. People will love you for this. Don't be someone that will just keep talking without giving others a chance. Be an attentive listener! To be interesting, be interested in others by asking questions that other person's will enjoy answering.

5.Talk about other person's interests. Everything should not just be about you, you and you. Haba!

6. Make other person's feel important and be sincere about it. Be courteous by using kind phrases "I'm sorry to trouble you" "would you please call me back? " "thank you"
I know this could be very difficult for a typical African man/woman but it is the way to go!

Having a proper goal in an important thing. Atleast, you knows where you are heading. After all a strong will is much more important
You are very correct sir
Career6 Important Approaches To Overcoming Impediments To Goal Achievement by tripua(op):
Goal is something distinctly different from a wish. It can be quickly and easily described to another person. You can measure it and you know when you have achieved it or not.
With this definition I will bring out 6 important approaches to overcoming impediments to GOAL achievement.

1. Proper & strategic planning
The most important part of goal setting is the planning phase. Sometimes, we are determined and committed, but our game plan steers us astray. You must ensure that your plan will help you deliver your desired outcome. One way to making certain your plan is sound is to have friends who are also goal driven. They will be able to give you feed back and to question specific parts of your plan, thereby allowing you to have a 360 degree overview of your map. The further you think into the future, the better decisions you will make in the present to assure that the future become a reality. The most effective way to stop your mind from worrying about the future is to use the present to plan your future

2. Clinical Execution
What happens to your plan if after you draw it, you placed it on a shelf? Achievement is a doing. Action is major, it is primordial; it is everything! If you take no action, nothing happens, nothing moves, NO ACHIEVEMENT. Dispose the excuses and do it at once, you will be glad you did.

3. Creative Time Management
Time is a limited resources. The greatest achievers have as much time as the least productive. Goal achievers recognise the importance of time as a resource and use it productively. As an achiever, we have a long to do list and only a few hours at hand. So, prioritisation, appropriate time-allocation and immediate execution are requirements for GOALS achievement. Keep time wasting activities at bay. Don’t do tomorrow what you can do today.

4. Having a Focus or Direction.
Any Road will seem good for someone who has no destination. You cannot have a goal to buy Toyota Vienna and now hear that someone wants to sell Toyota Carina I and now consider that as an opportunity. That is simply having no direction. Lacking direction is like sailing in the ocean and hoping the wind will push your boat somewhere. Don’t be surprised to end up in the midst of icebergs, strong turbulents and waves with sharks underneath. Precision is critical. You must be clear about what you want at any point in time.

5. Willingness to stretch our comfort zones
We all have the tendency of staying within the patterns of behaviour in which we feel at ease. It feels discomforting to challenge ourselves to experience something new getting out of your comfort zone can be exciting and the rewards are priceless. The main thing to remember here is that to achieve something worthwhile, you must get out of your comfort zone.

6. Having sufficient resources and adequate support
It is important to have a support system. Having GOAL peers is very important as our goal peers encourage us to keep focused. Similarly, you need family support as well as adequate financial resources. Most goals dies at the mercy of money! This is disheartening. To avoid frustration, ensure you can acquire the resources you need to be able to pursue and achieve your goals. If the current resources can not cater for the goal, set another pre-goal that will cater for the resources. Draw plans on how to get the resources.

It is your GOAL, it must work and it must deliver!

1. Join the QUEUE and don’t jump the queue. Resist, don’t aide anyone on attempt to jump the queue. Be Orderly.

2. NAIRA note: Treat our NAIRA notes in your possession with respect. Get a wallet or find a way of neatly arranging the naira notes. Squeezing and mutilating naira notes is not cool.

3. Dispose DIRTS appropriately: with all the certificates, neatly ironed shirt, well knotted tie and the “do you know who I am” syndrome, it is terrible if you still wind down your window and throw off empty can of drink or the peels of fruits off your car. This should stop!

4. Don’t TAKE BRIBE: You know taking bribe is wrong, make conscious effort and decide never to take it.

5. Don’t GIVE BRIBE: you are as guilty if you give bribe as the one who takes bribe. Most times, after giving bribe, you start cursing the receiver, think of the sharing formula for the curses you are issuing.

6. Don’t turn a BLACK EYE: You See things going wrong and you refuse to say or do something about it, one day that evil you are pretending not to see will come knocking at your door. Say something now, do a tweet, make a facebook post, just do your bit.

7. Stop the CHEATING: Manipulated measurements will land you no where, the cheating you do today will catch up with you one way or the other. You use data browsing cheats and still find the confidence to curse network providers for a slow network. It is evil. And as a service provider, give commensurating value for every products and services paid for

8. As an EMPLOYER , pay your employees at the right time. Show empathy and be a good employer
9. If you are an EMPLOYEE, the least you can do is to work for what you have been paid to do and put in your very best. Be considerate and be a good employee.

10. Use the PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE where provided. Use the walk way too. Don’t toy with your life and still come around to blame the government. Be responsible!

11. Treat everybody with LOVE: Everyone deserve your love. Love is big enough to make Nigeria a better place and love is small enough to be carried all around.

12. RESPECT people’s religion, culture, language, tribe and opinions. There is no point in battle for cultural or ethnic supremacy. Every culture, tribe and language is very beautiful. Be proud of Nigeria’s rich diversity.

13. Respect TRAFFIC RULES, don’t drive against traffic. Don’t take a bike on a route where government as deemed fit to ban motorcycle. Either as the carried or the carrier, you are guilty.

14. Be PUNCTUAL: African time will take us no where. Remember time is life, a waste of time is a waste of life. Even if you don’t value yours, value other people’s time and treat it with respect.

15. Pay your TAX and all DUES as at when due. This is your licence to be able to hold public office holders accountable.

16. CONSERVE all public RESOURCES around you. Water, trees, electricity are all public resources. Prevent wastage as much as you can. Some still use the very huge energy consuming yellow bulbs at the expense of energy saving bulbs. That’s about 90% waste of useful energy

17. Treat GOVERNMENT PROPERTIES like you own them: protect electricity pole, transformer, cables, roads and other public properties like your own. They are actually yours!

18. When somebody has an accident, he needs help not selfie. Be nice in every little way you can. Be kind!

19. Watch your mouth, don’t let it run like a tap. Don’t talk to people any how. And stop saying negative things about Nigeria. We are not there yet, but we will get there someday. This country will work! Nigeria will be a great place.

CareerEssentials Of Transformation by tripua(op): 8:00pm On Nov 10, 2016
To be sincere, many of us have been so filled with activities that we forgot that our body, mind and soul need constant renewal. You take for granted that the greatest asset you have is YOU and that in order for you to remain relevant in life, your body, mind and soul must be continually renewed.

YOUR BODY
You must care effectively for your body. Look good well enough at all time. Smell good too. Eat right, don’t just eat anything and everything that comes your way, you are not a dustbin. Get sufficient rest, relax, be easy on yourself and exercise on a regular basis.

ENGAGE YOUR SOUL
Your soul needs spiritual leadership. You must have a method by which you draw inspiration and uplift your soul. A daily prayerful meditation is strongly recommended. Try some early morning confessions too! Lanre Olushola’s 12 tracked “the affirmation ” CD will be very helpful.

RENEW YOUR MIND
Don’t leave your mind fallow. Yes, you have a formal education, but you need to explore new subjects, do serious reading, think analytically, integrate your thoughts into words and put them on a paper. Why did you go to school if you don’t read? Start with a book per month or something.

INTERACT
cultivate the habit of authentically, creatively and cooperatively interacting with people. It builds in you a huge sense of security. Stop acting shy, you are not! Open up, talk to people, make healthy friends, you will be better for it.

CONSTANTLY STRIVE TO SERVE
Oh! The power of service cannot be over emphasised. Discover the meaning of your life, discover your purpose… Something that transcends just making money. You can’t imagine the joy that comes with contributing and blessing the lives of others. It brings about some true joy. Let your life be a blessing unto others.

KEEP CHANGING
Change, real change comes from you and it comes from inside out. It is not a quick fix thing but comes from striking at the root of your thoughts. Real change will beckon at constantly fine-tuning your character and cleaning the lens with which you view things.

BE GOD CONSCIOUS
like many others, I believe that there are parts of human nature that cannot be reached by either legislation or education but by the power of God! I believe we cannot wholesomely transform ourself all by ourself as human beings without aligning ourself with correct God given principles and divine enablement. I believe you will achieve a lot if you walk with God.

MAY IT NEVER BE SAID THAT YOU LIVED AND DIED AN ORDINARY MAN OR WOMAN. MAY IT NEVER BE!

Family2017: Ready, Set, Goal! by tripua(op): 5:59pm On Nov 04, 2016
The drums will soon start rolling, your phone will beam with beautiful display pictures and there will be a stream of text messages wishing you well in the coming year with loads of prayers. Its usually an exciting period that before the dawn of the euphoria, the whole of January will be gone.
Interestingly, the loads of well wishes and prayers via text or other messaging platforms does not set the year on course neither does it guarantee utmost success. What then will make a difference? What will get you ready for the year even before you step into it? GOALS!

For many, by the time they are figuring what the year will look like and what they would achieve, the whole of January, February and March is gone, that’s a terrible antecedent. Don’t let this happen to you!

We simply want to set you up for a remarkable 2017, we want the year to be different from the ones you’ve had. We want to help transform your experience from frustration to satisfaction and from failure to fulfilment. We want to help you go far beyond what your friends and families or even you ever think you can achieve.

We bet you are not hearing the word GOAL for the first time but we can still go on to bet that its not been easy for you to set goals, make it plain and work with it. All these must come to an end because better results demand better approach and nobody sticks to a failure formula and expect astounding success.

SET YOUR LIFE ON COURSE
Goal setting is a global practice that works everywhere and for everyone. It gives people the ability to live a life that is fully on course and gives absolute control over life. Your life will by no small means be immensely transformed if you will take the pain to sit, set your goals and set them early enough. Aside boosting your confidence, giving you a gallant work in the year ahead, goals will help you develop competence and will continually spur you to maximally deliver on your potential.

It will cost you a pen and a writing pad. Write down what you want to achieve and all you want to be in the coming year. Do we need to tell you to think as big as you can? Write your goals as clearly as possible, as specific as possible and in a way that you can measure it.

IT IS TIME TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!
In this part of the world, the blame game is the cool game. A life you live where everyone except you take the blame for the happenings in your life is not a life to be proud of.

The most important pointer that you are no longer a baby is when you take responsibility for your life and live a deliberate life by setting goals and following it through with all the energy in you.
Write down in clear terms what you want to do with your life in 2017. You should even take a step further to write where you want to be in 5 years, in 15 years and even more. You can go on to break your life into segments, finance, family, relationship, health, academic, career, etc and write what you want to see in each segment.

The earlier you do this, the better. This singular act will go a long way to deliver the coming year into your hands. The beginning of failure is to think you can do it later.

2017: Are you ready? Are you set? Then set your Goals NOW!

Family6 Steps To Creating An Optimum Balance In Your Life by tripua(op):
Do you enjoy a healthy, well balanced lifestyle doing what you love? If no, this 6 steps will help you achieve a focused and balanced life. The 6 steps is in a unique system called B-ALERT!

“Every well built house started with a definite plan in the form of blue prints”- Napoleon Hill.

B – BLUEPRINT: A blueprint is simply a map for the day. It helps you prioritise. There are two options for preparing your blue print for the day. Either do it the night before or early in the morning before your day starts. You only need ten to fifteen minutes to do this. A well planned blueprint put you in control from the start giving you feeling of confidence and you are likely to accomplish more.

“The one thing that separates winners from losers is that winners take action”-Anyhony Robins

A – ACTION: The amount of action you put into your day will directly determine your score. Note that there is a major difference between being busy and taking specific well planned action. It is better to invest your time in what you do best.

“There are essentially two things that will make you wiser – the books you read and the people you meet”- Charles Tremendous Jones

L- LEARNING: Another feature of a well balanced life is taking time to expand your knowledge. This doesn’t require several hours of study. Develop the habit of reading at least twenty to thirty minutes in the morning. Be curious and be ready to learn. You can watch special documentaries, watch learning channels, discovery channels, use audio tapes, learn from your everyday experiences and learn from others.

“Having all the money in the world isn’t much good if you can hardly get out of bed in the money to enjoy it” – Author Unknown.

E – EXERCISE: A little daily exercise is an important prescription for you to create an excellent balance in your life. You don’t need to run marathons or work out in the gym for three hours everyday. About twenty minutes is all you need. You can have a brisk walk around the block, stretch your body, play a sport, do aerobics or jog

“Oh, to be free from the stifling pressure of life – to rest, a peaceful slumber that will rejuvenate my soul” – Les Hewitt

R – RELAXING: This is the time to recharge your batteries during the day. You can try what is called TPM – twenty-five peaceful minutes everyday. Consider relaxing to your favorite music or plan a complete break for twenty four hours. The important thing is to develop the habit of creating real time for total relaxation.

“If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought”

T – THINKING: If you want to have unusual clarity about what is working and what is not, schedule time for reflective thinking. At the end of your workday or just before you go to bed, take a few minutes to have a mental snapshot of the day. Focus on the progress you made, shortcomings and the adjustments you need to make as tomorrow presents itself as another opportunity.

At first, the B-ALERT system for optimum balance may appear overwhelming, however, you will find out that the system doesn’t take a lot of time. You just need to be creative, you can even combine your exercise time with your learning time.

I must commend you OP for this post, it's really awesome. And you ave got a cool blog there, I find the colorful border somewhat creative.

People who climb up the ladder fast in organizations and generally in the society practice one or more these soft skills either deliberately or unconsciously.

Like I keep saying, hard skills can easily be thought and learnt over time through books since there are already laid down formulas and theories.. Actually, soft skills is what differentiate the technical lead from the head of department.

Take No 5 seriously, and see yourself winning.
