MIKOLOWISKA:
you think it's Nigeria where govt had ruined sports by discouraging private sector?
The point you are trying to make cannot work here. It is a PPP, the only thing private can do here is sponsorship. Countries participate in Olympics, that is why Russia is banned this year. It's not about private sector or what you are talking about. Countries take pride in Olympics medal table that is why they invest and reward athletes. 24 years ago China was not where it was. It's all about the government, not private sector for Olympics.

Another member of Tinubu's economic council is speaking. First it was Dangote, with Otedola managing his social media posts, now it is Elumelu talking to FT first. Who is the petroleum minister? These are interesting times grin

I think Davido has one line like that, "are you done talking?" cool

Whites sabi enjoy themselves without stress. They can live in a shared one room and travel on vacations and seldom live above their means.

Nigerians actually think they are smarter than the whites.
I think you should be careful as some others have said of hasty conclusions. The person living in a shared room, is that normalhuh Is that not what we call face me I slap you in Nigeria?Hostel style

What if the person wants to getaway from that stress? There are people who live like that in Nigeria and we don't complain. We live a communal life and we even have people on Nairaland abusing parents who bring up kids in such environments. How is that life normal?

Why is the white man living frugally smarter and a Nigerian living in a 3br abroad is not smart for living comfortably? Do you know what the past life of the white man is?Do you know whether he once declared bankruptcy. Do you think a Nigerian can cope with living like that and it won't affect his mental health? Everyone's story is different. This person living in a shared room is not enjoying. That's suffering and I don't care if he is black or white. I sense some level of inferiority complex here. That a white man does something does not make it right.

Highly qualified Nigerians are making a good life for themselves abroad and you want them to suffer to make it. Bros how far

I will take that Nigerian immigrant who is taking care of 2 families in 2 continents over someone who cannot afford to take care of another human being and not raise a family. Wherever you go, immigrants have the hustle power because they see opportunities homies take for granted. This is why sometimes you need to step outside your comfort zone to see your privilege.

Northerners hardly travel...lol...the amount of wealth Northern Nigerians I knew who lived in London - St Johns Wood/Mayfair/Swiss Cottage circa 2000's no be small. I have jammed many in Washington and NYC too. The many I have jammed in Saudi, UAE, Qatar...it is a big misconception. They travel.
You are correct, I didn't even mention Kuwait, Saudi, Oman and the people that they think think like them because of Islam or conservatism.

I think what I tried to say there was travel to stay there for a long time. Home sweet home. I could be wrong but

I have said it here times without nunber that visiting the western world is way different from living in the western world

Look at this mumu Nigerian - advising Nigerians abroad to take vacations and sometimes enjoy themselves - IF they yield to your advise, will you:

“unhealthy competition” and thats why a Nigerian sees another Nigerian living above their means and immediately feels compelled to do same or more so people wont laught at him or her, forgetting the race of life is oersonal - Let me stop here, I believe the wise ones reading my post can make reason of it.
Continue please. The write-up is sp nice to read. Nigerians live in Nigeria and compete with others abroad. That's why there is panic when the dollar goes up, they console themselves with the fact that they have more dollars than their mates abroad shocked

I agree with you and I have no issues with lowly jobs to pay the bills, Living above your means and having to engage in extra jobs like delivery driving is what I am drawing emphasis on.
You can't be so sure is what I am saying. I know Nigerians show off but the hustle is real abroad and most of them get a wakeup call

The funny part is that no one cares as much as the people trying to impress others. People should adjust to the reality of their lives, you can't be in Nigeria and be thinking like you are abroad and vice versa.

When you have an extra bill to pay, you have no choice but to be a slave to multiple jobs. Most of these people even neglect their families working multiple jobs. I know individuals with big houses who never get to sleep in those houses, the husband is working night with other jobs and the wife is working day jobs. Even husbands and wives never get to meet each other as often as possible.
It's all about the bills here and it is a system designed to enslave you if you are not very smart.

Learn to mind your business and live your life. Northerners hardly travel outside Nigeria, everyone has a different story. Just because you see some people show off does not mean the Uber or Skip The Dishes guy doesn't have his own struggle to feed family. Cho cho cho as if Nigerians can be compared with Indian, Chinese or Pakistan migrants. Let people live. What about the Nigerians in Nigeria living fake lifestyle and copying oyinbo life inside nigeria nko? Thr people they want to impress think they live in jungles when they travel. Let people be

What is sad is that sports doesn't pay enough that she has to supplement her income with Onlyfans. Even though she doesn't post explicit content, shame on Canada Olympics. It means that their government is not doing the needful.

I see many people saying the officer was playing, he was jovial, he was joking, he was friendly. Do you think this guy did not receive traininghuh

Suggesting an action in itself is wrong. Don't come here to bamboozle us. You all don't know that border security is not moi moi work. What if the guy he is playing with is a criminalhuh An officer of law should know better.

Rollingdollar:
Tipping is common everywhere. The guy wasn't actually mentioning money in his conversation with the person he was talking to. The other person was the one mentioning money. The guy is only trying to establish a relationship that could led to further benefits. When i gave birth to my two children at separate hospital here in asaba. Both doctors including nurses on duty were hailing me immediately they sited me. That hailing wasnt because they just want to but a way of telling me to do them some form of favor. Most people do ask form favor whenever they offered some kind of services that turned out successful. Like getting a visa from this shithole etc. What is bad is when they made it compulsory for their client after he had paid what is due of him or her
Please be careful not to do this abroad in some countries, it will land you in prison. Their officers know that collecting bribe can lead to their dismissal so they will protect themselves before you put them in coffee. Even complimentary gifts, they reject it.

Kylekent59:
You filmed him and brought it to social media for what?

For us to mock him or what?

Why can't you take the video to his superiors rather than bring it on social media?

How will his kids feel if they see this? His family members? If the man commits suicide because of this. Who killed him?

Many individuals are immature. He may believe he was doing the right thing by posting it on social media, but he was not.

Bringing the video to his superiors and being confronted with it demonstrates maturity.

Putting the footage on social media is childish.
A good name is better than gold and silver. It is naive for you to recommend his superiors in today's Nigeria. It is not only in Nigeria they film this and ut on social media. It has nothing to do with maturity if you that is supposed to protect Nigeria as an immigration officer is not mature enough to protect us. Please give me a break.
