@ marksum: Thanks for your response. What about the medical? Can everything be concluded in just one month? I am just trying to figure out when i should advice him to apply

A friend on mine wants to come to Canada and i told him to join this forum and he is being reluctant. He looks up to me for help but he doesn't understand that i applied in 2011 and a lot of things have changed since then. Please i just want to find out which is faster, to apply online or paper application. All i promised to do for him is guide him right.

Travel / Re: 2 Nigerian Students Deported From Canada After A Year In Hiding by trodon: 7:50pm On Oct 20, 2013
I have read their story. Hard to believe that they didn't know that they were not supposed to work. I couldn't find a job on campus when i arrived so i had to wait for six months (actually took 7 months because i had to apply and wait for it to be processed). It is clearly stated in the work permit issued that: Unless authorized, prohibited from engaging in employment in Canada. Little warnings are taken seriously here. For you to say "i take God beg you" no go work. They did one very good thing though, they left voluntarily. They were not forcefully removed.

Please my good people, how possible it is for a married woman to redeploy after camp assuming she got legally married and has all the required documents? Has anyone seen a married woman do that? Your responses will be highly appreciated. Many thanks

I greet the house. Am not new here but haven't been coming online. This dread gave me a lot of hope when i applied for my study permit in 2011. The wait was almost 5 months and i must have fainted while waiting but eventually my application was approved. So i know what it feels like to wait. But be of good courage guys, nothing good comes easy. I really wonder why it takes them so long to process these applications. In my own case nothing was verified, they only called my bank and that was it. All i had in my bank account then was 1.5 million Naira though my school fees was paid in full and accommodation was partly paid as well. The only thing that kept me going throughout that period was this thread. I posted in part 1 and 2. Out of boredom, i read part 1 from the beginning and there was this interesting story of a guy called Adewale. His case was really interesting and i was strengthened by his courage. So keep on posting, keep strengthening one another and i wish you all success in your applications. Feel free to ask if you have a question and how things are here. if i don't have the right answer, i can help you find out. Una welldone!

Prince christian:

@usksk4life, !!! pls every one should help me with my question!!!
Have really not being quite jst was abit weighed down with what i got from CDHL, i believe in God i will not relent. My application was refused and returned in january stating the followin reasons
1)that i would not be able to maintain my self without workin in canada
2)would not be able to transport my self to canadaand from canada.
3)insufficient proof of relationship with sponsor and no evidence dat funds will be available over course of academic program, all these were asterisked,
But there re others not asteriked like
1) i did not satisfy dem i will leave after my study
2)dat i did not comply with their request for informatn, i.e an interview, medical exam and followin document

but i have decided to reapply, my dad is late, would have a letter of administration to cover his properties, den i will survey his lands(5 of them) bank account, vehicles and his house, also will summit my mums buildin plan and lands, would dis not be a strong tie. I also need advice on the bank statement w re not related what can i show cos in d former he swown an affidavit yet dey re still complainin or i should use my mums own and pay in d money, would they not complain dat it was jst paid in?
@Prince Christian, When I applied, I had less than 2million in my account. I was not married and had no landed properties. I was working and my salary was =N=120,000. The only thing relating to my employment was my IBTC pension plan for about 2years with only =N=160,000 in it. Nothing else. What i did was to pay may tuition fee in full (CAD$7,500) and accommodation fee (CAD$3,000) for four months of my eight month program. After the payment, i still had less than 2M in my account which is more than CAD$10,000. Yes the CDHC says in its web site that proof of payment is not required at the time of submission, but think about it; how else can you show proof that you will be able to afford the cost of schooling in Canada other than paying in advance? With you fees and accommodation paid, you are half way there.
Here is my advice, pay your tuition and accommodation fee if you can afford to in full or at least, some part of it. If for any reasons you are refused, you will be able to get your money back. It is all about the money. Take for example if you pay your fees in full, you pay for accommodation + feeding for the duration of your program in full and you have 1.5M in your account, do you think they will deny you?

@all,i posted some things and nobody even bother to help me out.well maybe because we are celebrating some sucessful applicants in the house,i celebrate with you too and i pray you celebrate me too soon.please,i want to study in canada, undergradute to be precise, what are the neccessary steps to take?,the neccessary document to tender/aquire?,the surest and nearest embassy to go,please generally how do i apply? I'm a total novice in these and i just want to know what it take in terms of knowledge of it even if i eventually not offered visa but i know i would be offered because i want to be celebrated too in NAIRALAND.thanks

 @ jma77,

the truth is this, once you can go through the pages on this thread, then all required answers will be found explicitly. However, there is nothing like "surest embassy" it just the embassy in Lagos here or ghana if you choose to.

Just log-on to search for universities and colleges in canada (check for your choice province), check the school requirements for the chosen program
T Baba, you are almost there. I am praying for you all.

Cuddlemii:

I just got my 2 years multiple entry visa. I sent the embassy an email yesterday morning at 5am for my status update, they didn't respond till 9:41am today. Their reply was simple: that I should go to my courier. I just got back from there. I am ecstatic because my course is just 8months. My visa durations starts from 28th of this month & school start October 11th. God is indeed faithful.
@cuddlemii, CONGRATULOBIA!!!!!!!!!

Hi all, i am back on line. My Airtel moden has been out of service for about three weeks now. I had to visit their office and made a lot of noise and thank God, it has been restored. I received intructions to go for Med on the 3rd of Aug. I did the Med on the 5th and completed thre Xray on the 6th at the VI clinic. I have missed out a lot and i am glad to be back. I give thanks to God for hearing our prayers. I will have to read from page 128 to catch up with the thread.

There is always high volume of student permit application to CDHC every year, This yr is not different. A friend of mine applied in 2008 when the avg processing time was 8wks. Her application took 10 wks, and she was told that the reason behind the delay was because of high volume of student permit applications. The number of applications for a student permit to CDHC next yr is going to be more than that of 2011. Congrats on your Medicals.
Mine is now 12 weeks. Shouldn't one believe that number of applicants is high?

@Chukie94, Cuddlemii, Obietrix, I submitted in May and my start date is Sept. I believe we all make it. We must remain prayerful there is nothing immposible for God to do. This is just a piece of cake to him if we believe.

They seem not to be processing on a first come first served basis. Looks like the CDHC has just finish processing applications with start dates in August. You just have to be patient.
