Education / Re: Apply For 2023/2024 PTDF Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme by tron23(m): 6:08pm On Sep 04, 2023
I believe the list is ready.(Don't ask me how i know....lols).
With the judgement on the 6th, the induction is most unlikely to take place this week.

So as it stands...we will have a quick induction early next week and then express/ priority visa application for those people going to the UK 🇬🇧 so they can meet up before the deadline.

However, UK schools can still admit students by 1st to 2nd week max of October.

So let's keep praying 🙏. It's well.

They use maths and english + 3 relevant subjects( chemistry, physics, and biology or agric for engineering candidates). so, getting A1s in non-science subjects is redundant.[/quote]

Tribal idiots.

GEJ, really? The one that was too drunk to negotiate more than 3% derivative for his region while in office, whose administration used all our money to buy expensive bras.

That same GEJ? Thunder fire you!

He was actually referring to Mr. Akinwunmi Adesina. The former Minister of Agriculture and current President of the African Development Bank.

Buhari that is urging the youths, how many youths are in his cabinet? In 2022 we have a Minister of Science and Technology that's above 50, why won't he talk about producing pencils.

If we can't run for President, let's gun for the legislative houses. Let's have a Legislative arm that is proactive and alive to the realities of the 21st century.

The Legislative arm needs to crawl out of the armpit of the executive arm, there's more to be done beyond tickling the executive. Having more youths who are not stooges of the old ones in the National and State Assemblies is a good step forward. Not these ones that parade their wives in the hallowed chambers.

The GoFundMe that produced #change and #nextlevel? Nobody should sell poverty and sob stories to us anymore. All of us dey street dey hustle. I'm not giving shingbain!

The solution is for the government to make and implement laws and policies that regulate the activities of these political parties. You can't be preaching inclusion on one hand and with the other raise the bar beyond what's reasonable. There should be a reasonable ceiling for tickets, and campaign expenses.

My dear no mind @tron23.
Me na JAPA dey my mind.

Okay, just for argument sake.
How do you mobilize Nigerian youths this close to an election.

Most of them have given up on the system. Besides, even if we crowd fund, our votes won't count.

So what's the point, its just an exercise in futility as far as am concerned.

Na to JAPA sure pass.

My 2 cents.

We can come together collectively, create a gofundme account, select a reliable candidate and push him/ her to office.
That way, we will have a say in the affairs of the nation.

On Monday the 29th of May 2023, Nigeria will have a new President, this is because the 8 years tenure of the current administration would have come to an end. This will be the third time that the country would be transitioning from one Government to another. In a country of over 200 million individuals according to The World Bank, its imperative that it maintains a sustainable governance institutions.

Given this backdrop, the choice of the nations leader can not be over emphasized. From the current crop of serious contenders for the number office in the land, one can hardly find any youth that can win votes on a national or even local level. If one takes a look at the current political structures of the major parties - PDP and APC, there is hardly any formidable youth that can contest or put up a good show at the next elections.

The questions that need to be answered now are:

a) Where are the youths?
b) What factors are hindering them?
c) Will they ever be given a chance ?

Only time will tell?

But even the Not too young to run law is lip service. Law that is not even worth the paper it's written on. Where's the implementation strategy? How many Nigerian youths can afford PDP and APC tickets

The government needs to create the enabling environment for the law to be implemented.

..and the youths? They are busy jostling for Youth leader and SA to the SA to the SA positions, when their mates dey lead countries.

@ SA to the SA ...please kill me.

This is nice oh...but just asking arent there any second F-16 fighter jets for sale in all of eastern Europe (UKRAINE, RUSSIA etc). They are more effective and can also be used for dealing with external aggressions effectively than these WWII planes. Haba.

Also, why cant we install or purchase PREDATOR drones...come on. Even CIA has drones, the cost to effectiveness ratio of drones are much better than these WWII planes.
