CrimeMan Rapes 13-year-old IDP In Borno by Truepee(op): 1:33pm On Aug 25, 2016
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Borno on Thursday said that it had arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly raping an Internally Displaced Person.
The NSCDC Commandant in the state, Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Maiduguri that the 13-year-old victim from Chibok, was staying with her aunt at the Colori Camp.
Ibrahim said the suspect was arrested in Dala area of the state capital.
He said the suspect lured the victim with some money and took her to a house in Colori ward behind the NNPC quarters, where he raped her.
“The suspect held the victim hostage for two days in his house. After intensive search by the command, the girl was later found with the culprit,” Ibrahim said.
The commandant condemned the increasing rate of domestic abuses, ranging from defilement to rape in the state.
“The culprits usually take advantage of the poor living condition of their victims and abuse them.
“We are, therefore, appealing to all good citizens of Borno State to always report any suspicious activities that can cause havoc in the society,” Ibrahim said.

PoliticsPDP Crisis: Sheriff Bent On Bringing Party To Its Knees by Truepee(op): 6:13pm On Aug 21, 2016
– He said a critical check will show Sheriff was a non-card carrying member of the PDP
Barr. Chris Okewulonu, a former secretary to the Imo state government (SGI), has described the embattled factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as a pretender.
According to him, Sheriff was bent on bringing the party to its knees, Leadership reports.
Okewulonu was reacting to leadership crisis rocking the party and the ruling of a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt.

Speaking in Owerri, the Imo state capital, the former SGI said Sheriff’s desperation to remain chairman was a bad omen to the party.
He insinuated that Sheriff was a non-card carrying member of the PDP, saying a critical check on his membership will prove that he was not even registered in his ward and therefore may not even have a PDP membership card.
Okewulonu said: “The ward is where membership of a party is anchored. I bet you, Sheriff’s name is not in PDP’s membership register in his ward because he suddenly jumped into PDP from APC. He is acting as if he is harbouring an age long bitterness against PDP and the opportunity has now provided itself for him to strike.”
The former SGI wondered what Sheriff stands to lose if he does not become the national chairman of the PDP.

He noted that the “issue of Sheriff has been blown out of proportion by the media thereby, portraying our party as being in crisis .”
Okewulonu stated that the PDP is greater than any of its members and is still intact, Sheriff or no Sheriff.
He therefore cautioned party members to be humble enough to subject themselves to party constitution.
For months, Sheriff and the leadership of the opposition PDP have been at loggerheads following his removal as the national chairman of the party and the inauguration of a caretaker committee headed by Ahmed Makarfi to lead its activities.
Despite his removal, Sheriff has maintained that he remains the chairman of the party.
Some stakeholders in the PDP have said that he is mole in the party and thus want him severely punished. Naij

HealthSouth Africa Confirms Case Of Zika Virus by Truepee(op): 5:30pm On Feb 20, 2016
South Africa, on Saturday, confirmed its first case of the dreaded Zika virus that has devastated much of Southern America.

The virus, according to Reuters, was brought into South Africa by a Columbian businessman. He was found to have the viral disease during a visit to Johannesburg, says the Health minister.

“The businessman presented with fever and a rash approximately four days after arrival in South Africa but is now fully recovered,” the minister said.

This makes South Africa the first African country to confirm the disease, since the disease epidemic broke out last year.

Although Zika was first discovered in Africa, there has been only 20, or less, recorded case of the disease in the continent since 2007.

The World Health Organization (WHO) had on February 1, declared Zika a global public health emergency.

About 1.5 million case have been recorded in Brazil, and about 14 countries, including China, have so far confirmed the disease.

Although there are no known treatment and causes of the viral disease, scientists, however, believe that it is caused by mosquitoes.

Zika is believed to the cause of two neurological disorder: microcephaly in babies and Guillain-Barre syndrome that can cause paralysis.source best new blog for gist news weirdo and music you must visit http://adenqij..com

PoliticsFashola Can't Run Power Ministry Like He Ran Lagos - Civil Group by Truepee(op): 1:48pm On Feb 10, 2016
The Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, on Tuesday, decried the recent hike in electricity tariff by the Federal Government, the Nation reports.

According to CACOL, to force the tariff increase on the people would amount to a corrupt practice.

“We note that in spite of public outcry against any hike, the Ministry of Works, Power and Housing superintended upon by Mr Babatunde Fashola, former governor of Lagos State, has gone ahead to illegally impose a tariff hike on electricity on Nigerians for services not rendered to them. This is flagrant and audacious corruption in a situation where the Federal Government claims to be fighting against corruption and illegality.

“Mr Babatunde Fashola should be told that the ministry he superintends over is not meant for the kind of antics that he got away with in Lagos State when he was governor,” the Executive Chairman of CACOL, Mr Debo Adeniran, said.

Adeniran also said that it was the nation’s electricity firms and the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) that owed Nigerians money and apologies for not rendering adequate services that they received money for and continued to receive money for.

“Therefore, we reject this hike in electricity tariff in totality. We demand that power supply should be made available and accessible to all and a billing system that will be transparent, reasonable and commensurate with consumption should be provided.

“The DISCOs and NERC can take a cue from the telecommunications sector by providing meters; fixing the cobweb-like cables that dangle over the heads of people,” the CACOL boss said.

Adeniran stated further that the demand by the electricity distribution companies for cost reflective tariff so as to remain in business should be placed side by side with effective service delivery, after which the issue of tariff increase can be discussed. See more stories at http://adenaij..com
CrimeOver-speeding Trailer Tumbles On Expressway Killing No Fewer Than 17 (graphic Ph by Truepee(op): 10:06am On Feb 08, 2016
Dead bodies at the scene of accident (Photo credit: Tunde Odesola)

No fewer than 17 persons lost their lives after an over-speeding trailer tumbled down the expressway in the Adeosun area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Sunday.

The accident happened in the morning around 7am occurred on the portion of the expressway which had been recently reconstructed injured more than 79 persons.

A victim, who lost two relatives, covered the faces of the deceased with clothes as she broke down in tears.

One of the victims of the accident who survived was inconsolable as he couldn't stop shouting. The man identified as Mohammed shouted Allah as he wailed and knelt down between the two corpses weeping bitterly.

One of the survivors of the accident, who gave his name as Mohammed Seripino, said the trailer was coming from Kaduna and had travelled all night. Most of the dead victims were in the trailer coming from Kaduna.

He said each passenger paid N1,000 as transport fare, adding that the journey from Kaduna was smooth before the accident occurred.

“We are all Hausa. We were coming from Kaduna. Each passenger paid N1,000. This (accident) is not good,” he said.

An eyewitness, who gave his name as Yinka Dada saw all that happened and narrated: “I saw everything. I was by the roadside when the accident occurred. I was with my son who was going to Lagos when I saw two vehicles speeding as if they were competing in a race.

“The other vehicle was able to control the wheel, while the driver of the trailer lost control, tumbled down the expressway, and spilled out the passengers one after another.”

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps at the Ibadan Tollgate Unit, who came for rescue operation, refused to give more details.

“We cannot talk to you now. I am not the boss here. I have bosses who can talk to you later if you come to our unit at the tollgate. You can see we are busy now,” the official said.

However, the FRSC said 17 people died in the accident, while 79 others were injured.

The Oyo State Sector Commander, FRSC, Yusuf Salami, said the accident involved an articulated vehicle and a Peugeot J5 vehicle.

He explained that both vehicles were travelling to Lagos, adding that the accident was caused by impatience, speeding and struggle for right of way.

He said, “A Peugeot J5 with number plate, XS 626 LSV, and a DAF articulated vehicle with number plate, AA 902 MML, had an accident as both drivers were struggling for the right of the way. They were both going to Lagos when the accident happened around 9.30am on Sunday. It happened just before the campus of the Dominion University in Sepo, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

“There were 96 people involved, with 17 confirmed dead. It is obvious that both drivers were speeding and suddenly lost control of the vehicles. The Peugeot bus was loaded with passengers and goods, but the casualty figure rose because the other vehicle was travelling to Lagos with huge number of illegal passengers.” For more pictures visit http://adenaij..com
