PoliticsRe: South-South Leaders Endorse Jonathan For Second Term . by truth4meal(m): 11:30am On Sep 07, 2012
I believe the president has every right to contest the next election. I also applaud the endorsement by his people of south-south which is what is normal but I frown at the domestication of the president as ND president. I must say that GEJ himself did not demonstrate dis bigot mien but his overzealous kinsmen and political prostitutes are gradually encroaching the president support base. What is needed for GEJ is support North and South not this hate dat is custom of the ND leaders esp Edwin Clark. That is talking politics but now to the reality on ground, GEJ's scorecard is a menu of tasteless governance, salty policies, burnt agenda and horrid direction - if GEJ must be endorsed by the people at least let us do it wit full stomach and in broad day light of PHCN

masterpiecer: has there ever been anytime that the northerners support any south-south candidate?, they believe they own Nigeria, but they will be proven wrong again.
advise GEJ not to go to d north to campaign or solicit vote come 2015 and wait till May 29 for a more reasonable president from d North or Igbo. U re just unlucky to ve a fish brain

ifihearam: Mr president also said in the last media chat that time will tell but it seems we want him back even if he doesn't wanna contest....peoples wish must prevail and its a YES
people of Niger Delta's wish abi?...can d fraction of south-south make GEJ president? Edwin Clark and his co travellers are just narrowing the president chance of re-election with bigotry utterances. Now we ve a president dat is not Nigerian but ND...u guys come here abuse the yorubas, abuse the North and u want re-election in 2015...ur only ally being igbos who demselves want a slot at d top...seriously do we have a prof of Maths frm ND? I guess u guts nid to be taught d arithmetic of politics.
PoliticsDana Airline Thanks FG by truth4meal(op): 6:47am On Sep 07, 2012
Dana Airline announced yesterday that it will soon resume flight operations following the lifting of suspension of the airline operations by the Federal Government  Wednesday.

In a statement, the management of the airline thanked the Federal Government for lifting the suspension and announced that it will soon resume flight operations in all its routes.

It will be recalled that following the tragic crash of the airline plane on Sunday, June 3, at Iju-Ishaga, Lagos, which killed more than 153 people, including those on board the plane and the residents of the site it crashed, the airline flight operations were suspended by the Federal Government.

In what looked like fore closing investigation into the crash, the airline said the Federal Government was satisfied with the air-worthiness of the airline.

The airline said ‘’The management and the over 558 staff of Dana Air wish to express our deepest appreciation to the Federal Government over the lifting of the suspension of the airline’s operations with effect from Wednesday, September 5, 2012, following government’s satisfaction with the air-worthiness of the airline after a rigorous technical, operational and financial audit.’’

The airline also thanked ‘’all Nigerians and our esteemed guests for your prayers since the tragic accident of Sunday, June 3, 2012. Our thoughts and prayers will always be with the families that lost loved ones.’’

The airline, however, reiterated its committed to assisting the families of victims of the crash and also fulfilling its obligations to them fully, as stipulated by the law.

It has promised to continue to adhere to safety procedures in their flight operations.’’The provision of safe, reliable world-class air transport services has always been our focus at Dana Air and we will continue to adhere strictly to safety procedures as required by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Act and all other relevant local and international regulations, as we resume flight operations shortly.’’
PoliticsRe: Traffic Law: Lagos Police Ready For Enforcement by truth4meal(op): 6:32am On Sep 07, 2012
The public should get ready for compliance
PoliticsTraffic Law: Lagos Police Ready For Enforcement by truth4meal(op): 6:31am On Sep 07, 2012
The Lagos State Police Command has declared its readiness to begin full enforcement of the new Lagos Traffic Law and warning that in the process, nobody would be spared.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abubakar Umar Manko, who gave the indication after the State Security Council meeting on Wednesday, said the delay in enforcement was to allow for public enlightenment and all other requirements to be put in place to ensure easy compliance by members of the public.

Fielding questions from newsmen after the meeting, the Police boss explained, “Since the Governor signed it, it has become law. The fact that it has not been massively enforced does not mean that it is not in existence. So we have just finished a meeting. Everybody now knows there is a new law and that law is going to be fully enforced.”

According to the Commissioner, “Government has done its part, public enlightenment has been made, road repairs are going on and there are traffic signs everywhere, therefore, no citizen has the right to say that he does not know. The Police are going to start the enforcement in full and nobody is going to be spared.”

Promising that members of his Command would not disobey the law, Manko declared, “We are going to start full enforcement and we expect compliance to this law from everybody. The contents have been made public, so excuse of ignorance of the law is no more there.”

On “MBER” months, the Commissioner, who described them as no different from other months of the year, said although there may be some challenges the Police were fully prepared and would come out en masse to ensure that public peace was not disturbed.

Also speaking on behalf of the Flag Officer, Western Naval Command and Air Officer, Logistics Command, Commander, 9 Brigade, Ikeja, Cantonment, Brigadier General Pat Akem, said the Armed Forces would sensitize and inform their members to know that they are also subject to the law and that compliance is expected from them.

According to him, their members would be made to understand that failure to comply to the law would be viewed very seriously as they are also operating under a democratic dispensation, adding, “We will inform our soldiers, our ratings and our air men that they are expected to obey the law and that violation of the law would be viewed very seriously.

PointB: Why didn't you ask for the Northern governors or are they not part of the country. I just gave a sample popular governorsm What is the problem? Oga you can open a thread about any governor you want. Ameachi, Akpabio, Uduaghan, na you sabi. Just don't derail my thread. It's either you have answer or not, stop querying my motive or speculate on my zone. Such hold no answer to my query.

How wealthy is Tinubu, and how did he become that wealthy. Certainly, anyone who can create a Nairaland account by himself should at the every least understand simple question, No?
why can't I query ur motive? If u can open a thread solely to scrutinize d source of another man's wealth y can't I query ur motive especially wen its skewed

PointB: Na wa oo. Why don't you simply admit you have no answer to my question and walk away from this thread? Why do u have to impungn ulterior motive to my thread? What is ulterior motive? Or are you implying that Tinubu has something to hide, and that this thread will ultimately unearth the hidden? Na wa oo.

Please enlighten me sir!
wat u nid is not an answer, what u nid is somone who can support ur folly and ur unachieveable task of slandering Asiwaju...if u want to be enlighten, use any of the G - ask God, ask Google or Gerrout

So let's continue digging Tinubu's wealth. Maybe tommorow Chime, Fashola, Mimiko, Rochas (alphabetically sorted) may follow.

Besides, if you think opinions expressed here are libels and falsehoods, why not provide the correct information?

What they are saying to nigerians is that it is cool to be a political thief and traitor like tinubu. But like all true nigerians know, the only people that can solve nigerian syndomes are nigerians themselves, not some imperialists.

afam4eva: You're right. But don't you think the same thing applies to the numerous PDP politicians that you've been calling for their heads?
Afam4eva one thing i want you to understand is that Asiwaju is the leader of the opposition in a country like ours where our democracy is not policy driven but stimulated by hate and ferocious instrument of besmirch. don't you think if Asiwaju is found wanting the ruling party would have used it against him long ago but they have nothing to prove that he is corrupt that's why the want to demonized him. If table turns just imagine how many of the PDP thieves under the immunity umbrella of being a member of the ruling party will be convicted.

Is us against them. The good ones against the bad ones.Whose side ar you on?
Did you say tribes notwithstanding and you forget to put your kinsmen (cos from the list its obvious u re Niger Deltan) like Ibori, Alam and co that was convicted by a recognized court of law. i want to believe it skips ur mind but did it also skip ur mind that Tinubu - iberu 1 of Nigeria was never convicted? its all fictitious attempt to besmirch the person of Asiwaju - it will make a good work of fiction but in the real legal world Tinubu - Iberu 1 of Nigeria is a clean man.
