I don't even know where to start with this post. You go on a rant about the legal decision made by an adult, a decision that has no effect or baring on your life, a decision that hurt no one.. Then you proceed to make assumptions without even have any fact on the ground. How do you know his system was inefficient, did you know or even ask him what he is optimising for? Do you know the background story? Do you have any idea what has been done on the load side of things. Do you know what appliance he uses in his house? All you know is that he built a system and you then go on a rant complaining the size is too big.. On what matrix did you come to that conclusion . It is ironic you talk of "Black man" mentality, when you travel to civilized climes people mind their business. You don't wake up and be calling the decisions and actions of another man stupid when you don't even know his motivation .

It would have helped and we would all have benefited if you had asked why he needed so much power, maybe he wanted a system that can go without the grid and can survive the heart of the raining season going for days without sunlight without compromising on comfort. Do you even know the size of his house? All you did was project your insecurities to the world. You just masked envy in the cloak of advise. I think you need some deep thinking, such attitude won't take you far in life.

You need more of the deep thinking.. why then have you not asked him to prove me wrong by outlining how he uses 100,000 watts of power daily or is he not seeing my messages? Or do u have a problem with English language?

Why you are crying more than the bereaved. You are the one assuming here.. simply tell him to prove me wrong.. it would be pretty easy for him to do. You and the other idiots are more engrossed in discrediting me than in asking intelligent questions.

Our histories in nairaland and other forums says it all. I do not have to brag here with a faceless moniker but atimes it is good to set matters straight. If i look for a 5k or 20k business to start means nothing at all and does not affect anyone.You should ask when was that and what i have made of it. For the average uninformed black man, any form of criticism is jealousy, envy and bitterness so you are no different. That is exactly why Africa is where it is today. We all have to think and act same way. If you took the time to read my message carefully and understood the finer details, you would have simply countered my points or held your peace. It isn't a function of a lifestyle projection. It is simply a function of system efficiency. At that level, it is no longer a wise or cost effective install.

Why should I be bitter or jealous over a solar installation? If I had just 2 batteries and had constant electricity, have I not fulfilled the same need as Niyi? Do I need to have 50,000 Watts of Panels when 3000 watts can do the job? You must be very dense.

Next time, try to sound intelligent.

Truly it was a struggle to the last day.

My friends on here pitched me huge 2v banks up to 2000Ah for significantly less than the cost of Lithium.

One deciding factor was that my company has a few Lithium installs under our belt, it is the cornerstone of our business success to use the products we sell so we have a wealth of real field experience and can provide valuable support to our customers.

In the end it was a happy accident as I ended up with a huge PV array - 19kw as part of the deal and not too crazy a cost.

A couple of pain points though;

1) Had to give up my beloved MorningStar CCs as they pulled support for PylonTech.


2) A lot of premium copper connectors, ferrules e.t.c i purchased for lead acid have now gone to waste.

3) PylonTech is a smart/managed battery - I understand that you cannot simply connect an inverter to the battery terminals and use - even if you make all settings for charge and discharge within safe tolerance. The PylonTech expects a keepalive signal from your inverter or control box else it switches off after a set interval. I have not seen this yet in practice but I went in with all the right tools to do it properly anyways. The 2 clients I installed for used an Axpert and Steca respectively so things were a lot simpler there.

4) Despite paying top dollar for 2 Victron Quattros (15kva & 8kva) and undrerstanding that Victron supports PylonTech, I found to my chagrin I had to purchase a Victron GX control device to sit between Inverter and Battery and CCs and Battery for everything to work. I had to return a VE.Can Victron CC purchased at a good price because only VE.Direct and VE.Bus Victron products are compatible.

With my huge array, quite a challenge integrating 4 CCs into one GX device - had to purchase an assortment of cables and USB hub to make things work.

5) All in all quite a bit of complexity to work through - what is needed is a lot more than just connect inverter, CCs and battery to bus bar. In my setup, the Inverter, CCs are slaves to the PylonTech BMS with the Venus GX device acting as governor for the relationship and communication.

If any device loses connection to the GX, it goes offline and may be cumbersome to restart. If the BMS faults out and shuts down the battery, nothing else will work till the GX device can start - remember GX requires battery and battery has gone off either you have another smaller independent dumb lead acid or Lithium battery to power the GX off of or you use mains supply to kickstart the inverter and battery.

In short a lot can go wrong that is just software and interface. You dont face all these challenges with Lead Acid.

In the end I was able to setup an entire working system with remote monitoring working alone over the course of two evenings - with this I became certain I was called to this profession indeed.

My back, upper arms and pocket still hurt though

In all sincerity, you have the most inefficient system on this Forum. I am not sure why the other enthusiast choose to ignore but renewable energy is not a race or a competition of the largest solar array and largest battery bank. It is more a function of getting steady power at a reasonable and comparative price as opposed to relying on the national grid.

Even at 3X solar capacity production, you would be generating 60,000 watts daily. I struggle to understand why anyone would go through that much energy in a day for a regular house and claim to be a renewable energy enthusiast. It isn't a function of deep pockets, it is more a stupid approach.

Simply swapping out a few energy guzzling appliances and using timers and energy saving lighting will reduce your consumption by half. I struggle to understand how spending 10 million on Solar which needs to be swapped out in 10 years makes sense. At that price point, you are paying 80-100K per month effectively. What then would it cost to simply be on generators.

Again, if you have as much wisdom as you display on this forum, you do not need 19,000 watts of installed panels. Not sure what point you are trying to prove but need I remind you that you are not a factory and do not live in a palace.

Hello amazing people and great forumites , it's been real tasking making sure i satisfy most of my clients needs / orders who commit so much cash & get their products in return ! Apologies to few out of millions who view but do not type that i couldn't attend to due to very busy schedule . I don't think anybody in God's name will come out and say I absconded with his / her cash for countless years of transactions done with me.. Issues of warranty on brand new items purchased by company who offered us warranty are treated with hitches unless for few companies who don't offer warranty or basically on fairly used batteries which I rarely offer written warranty but sell in good faith as most already know !
We've many who committed cash and got fast supplies and few with saddist traits who did very little or no deal and felt that coming online daily for tales / Epistles of unrealistic transaction which if at all it was as they paint it to be , I do cash refunds to be factual ! I am physically present in Lagos State and likes of Abunafiu, Niyi etc has been to my personal aboad . I also have so many who has met with me in person Saipro, Barezzi, Dam5reey, Pranil, Prime,Hisenjos, Richmond, Ola, enough installers and renewable energy enthusiasts etc and Boss George , Rovar who've transacted with me and no issues till date !
We face some challenging issues sometimes in our line of business as I have most who know absolutely nothing about solar product vis-a-vis quality , they commit cash to you under "abeg help me get something good under trust" like someone who I have transacted millions with and he needed a Korea car battery. I gave him option of everstat battery but after viewing pic he sent and terminal polarity position, I opted in for a quality Korea product called Sebang . The client issue was that he doesn't know sebang and I would have told him battery name before sending far North which I said "sorry for that" & also mentioned he can send back and I refund cash back since the whole business was just for old time sake not necessarily for humungous gain ! The client operated on deaf ears and threatened he was a lawyer called to bar decades ago and would do xoxoxoxooxo if battery fails but I only kept my cool and he has been here calling a fellow man like him names like he was his creator or the mistake/error of communication can't ever be forgiven by him as a mortal being !
The way Prime mentioned to someone here if he needed flames office contact, he can assist .. I deliberately sent receipt snapshot picture of a panel I got from popular foresolar warehouse on Yuletide break which all travelled but I tried my possible best to see client was happy.The picture was to show not all foresolar panels have the tag "foresolar" on it's nameplate which I confirmed from their CEO "Mr Ifeanyi) , the client never believed even after knowing I don't ever rebrand since my years of existing on this wonderful forum ! The second issue was little change which was gotten from my routine logistics bid just to use for my stressful shuttles that holiday but client felt it's another issue forgetting it's where someone works - the person feeds from and even a cousin,friend,sibling can also do that when it comes to business which is no criminal offense .
It has been a lovely family in here .I advice let's learn to live & let live ! You ain't anybody creator in here and can't be a lopsided / partial admin in minor or bit juvenile cases as we havemost who don't type here but are observers seeking for real serious cases not tantrums as kids do ! I don't feel moved by been JUST and UPRIGHT .. If you've any serious personal grieve with a fellow being , i am physically available for dispute resolution to reduce much unnecessary noise here and those who which to transact will always do by God's grace ! Why must someone call a fellow man a conman for a used battery deal without warrant receipts! Fraud for no single transaction which anyone absconded with cash ? Someone mentioned "it is finished" like he has the last say on partial judgement here . I have most who have driven down personally to my Abule Egba , Lagos State location for various item(fullriver,Ritar batteries etc) pickup and I see no reason for side talks here like infants do forgetting that the rough sea only grooms or builds brave sailors!

I do not want to assume that you are a slowpoke so you do not really know why most of your customers have a sour taste in their mouth and come on here to leave bad reviews about you. If a customer threatens you with a lawyer, it is only because you have erred. You cannot take money and supply fake products and expect not to be threatened.

I bought a set of panels from a renowned and respected person on this forum known for warning against fake solar panels and accessories. i have transacted business for a long time with this said person and had no cause to doubt his integrity. however my last transaction with him gave me reasons to question his business dealings with me as shady as i ordered for panels (three 250 Watts) and he told me he was sending flames panels which he got direct from the company.

Unfortunately, when the panels came, there was no indication that it was a flames panel and the installer confirmed same. as at 1pm, i was getting less than 2Amps current on a single panel and it was quite sunny. Since then the person has cut off all communications with me as he was also trying to get kickback from the installer (which i got to know about later and refused to work with his agreement), this is after overpricing[color=#990000][/color] even the logistics of how the items got to me.

please i am just curious, is it possible to buy a flames panel without the sticker indicating that it is flames? is there anyone with sample picture of how flames panels look? thank you
