PoliticsRe: Electronic Transmission Of Election Results Remains Largely Theoretical by truthera:
Mandatory real-time transmission of results will cut off key aspects of the manual processes you've highlighted. Especially the after voting processes which is where majority of rigging activities occur..... Nigeria may not be able to achieve 100% real time electronic transmission coverage due to infrastructural limitations but a 70% coverage especially in urban highly populated areas will go a long way towards ensuring a free and fair election. I've refrained from commenting on threads about this issue because I believe Nigerians won't get a fair election under Tinubu's APC government...

blamingthedevil:
Electronic transmission of election results remains largely theoretical in most electoral systems worldwide. In the Nigerian context, approximately 95% of activities conducted before, during, and after elections are manual in nature. Voter accreditation via the BVAS is manually executed; voting itself is manual; vote counting is manual; and the completion of result sheets at the polling unit is likewise manual. Even the scanning or photographing of results for upload constitutes a manual process. Furthermore, the collation of these transmitted scanned results at the ward, local government, state, and national levels continues to rely predominantly on manual procedures.

These realities underscore not only the structural limitations of the process but also the persistent challenge posed by a general deficit in emotional intelligence within the public discourse surrounding elections in Nigeria

PoliticsRe: 2027 Election: My Take On Akpabio's Electoral Amendment Bill by truthera(op): 2:50am On Feb 11
Tinubu and Akpabio have set aside over N1 trillion (They will probably embezzle) as INEC’s budget for the 2027 election yet real-time electronic transmission of results is not feasible.... Details below....

President Ahmed Tinubu has proposed a massive allocation of ₦1.01 trillion to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the 2026 Appropriation Bill, as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.

Details from the budget document submitted to the National Assembly show that INEC is earmarked ₦1,013,778,401,602, one of the highest allocations in the commission’s history, underscoring the scale and complexity of the forthcoming polls....

The 2026 budget proposal, valued at ₦58.18 trillion, is tagged “Budget of Consolidation, Renewed Resilience and Shared Prosperity”. It projects total revenue of ₦34.33 trillion and total expenditure of ₦58.18 trillion, including ₦15.52 trillion for debt servicing.

Analysts note that the hefty allocation to INEC reflects rising operational costs associated with elections, including procurement of technology, voter education, logistics, and nationwide deployment of personnel.

The Electoral Act 2022 mandates early release of election funds. Specifically, Section 3(3) provides that funds for general elections must be released to the commission not later than one year before the polls.

The Electoral Act 2022 mandates early release of election funds. Specifically, Section 3(3) provides that funds for general elections must be released to the commission not later than one year before the polls.

For the 2023 general elections, INEC spent ₦313.4 billion, although the commission disclosed that only ₦313.4 billion out of the ₦355 billion approved was released as of September 2023.

Historical data shows that Nigeria spent about ₦108.8 billion on the 2015 general elections, while the 2019 elections were conducted with ₦143 billion approved by the National Assembly.

Meanwhile, election experts project that the 2027 polls will be the most expensive in Nigeria’s history. Professor Bolade Eyinla, immediate past Chief Technical Adviser to the INEC Chairman, has estimated that the commission may require about ₦870 billion (approximately $600 million) to successfully conduct the elections.

Speaking at a Yiaga Africa retreat on election scenarios and manipulation risks in Abuja, Eyinla said Nigeria’s elections are among the largest peacetime civil operations globally, given the country’s vast population, terrain, and logistical demands.

He noted that Nigeria currently has over 93 million registered voters, 176,846 polling units, and 1,558 electoral constituencies, all of which significantly drive up costs.

According to him, previous election costs were ₦109 billion in 2015, ₦189 billion in 2019, and ₦355 billion in 2023. After adjusting for inflation, currency fluctuations, and operational expansion, he described the ₦870 billion projection for 2027 as realistic.

Eyinla also explained that on a per-voter basis, Nigeria’s election cost remains within international standards for transitional democracies, estimating about $6.72 per voter.

Comparative data shows that elections in Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia, and India cost significantly more per voter in recent cycles.

PoliticsRe: 2027 Election: My Take On Akpabio's Electoral Amendment Bill by truthera(op): 8:27pm On Feb 10
Nigerians need to wake up and stop deceiving themselves.... Tinubu, Akpabio and Co can not and will not support a free and fair election in 2027, doing so to them is political suicide.....
Politics2027 Election: My Take On Akpabio's Electoral Amendment Bill by truthera(op):
Akpabio and his men think they are smart so they went in to a brainstorming session and came up with the following below as the newly modified section 60 (3) of the Electoral Amendment Bill....

The Presiding Officer shall electronically transmit the results from each polling unit to the IReV portal and such transmission shall be done after the prescribed Form EC8A have been signed and stamped by the Presiding Officer and/or counter-signed by the candidates or Polling Agents where available at the Polling Units, provided that if electronic transmission of results fails as a result of communication (or network) failure and it becomes otherwise difficult to transmit the results electronically on Form EC8A signed by the Presiding Officer and/or counter-signed by the Candidates or Polling Agents where available at the Polling Units, the Form EC8A shall in such a case be the Primary source of collation and declaration of results.
Dissecting section 60(3), it is glaring that nothing concrete has changed, the real game changer against systemic election rigging which is "Real-time Electronic Transmission" was conspicuously removed. Also allowing Form EC8A to still be backup option means that INEC just like 2023 can decide to shut down the electronic transmission system and portal without any legal consequences.

I believe that what will make a big difference is for real-time mandatory electronic transmission of results to be the only option and source for collation. If network failure occurs in a polling unit then uploading can be temporarily suspended until network is restored even if it takes days to restore. Allowing Form EC8A to still be admitted as a primary source of collation is an indicator that electronic transmission will never work as it will be sabotaged. Mahmood Yakubu promised heaven and earth before 2023 presidential election over electronic transmission of results but betrayed Nigerians on election day. The only way to guard against a reoccurrance of what happened in 2023 will be to make "Real time electronic transmission" not optional but mandatory as the only primary source of collation.

I've no hope that this rubber stamp 10th assembly under the leadership of Akpabio will do what Nigerians want unless they are forced to resign. Nigerians should be protesting to recall these compromised lawmakers as many of them are products of electoral fraud. Protesting to force them to allow real time electronic transmission of result will not change any thing because they won't do it. As long as Tinubu has total control of NASS, judiciary, police, military and INEC, Nigerians can not remove this evil APC government through any election. I will once again recommend that the way forward is for Nigerians unite and push for a nationwide revolutionary movement towards political/economic decentralisation of power (total devolution) or outright division of the country.... This is the surest way to flush out these evil leaders and chart a new path that will benefit everyone....

Yes it will eventually get worse if America is allowed to establish a military base in Nigeria... This Drone base they are asking for will be used by them to ferment proxy wars in their ever evolving chess international power game between them, Russia and China leaving Nigeria in ruins when they are done.... US military intervention so far never benefits the host country in a long run.... Again, I ask you to look at history, has Afghanistan, Iraq and Libia's economies recovered from America's military conquest? Is there peace in these countries?

Akpabio and other legislooters will not allow a mandatory electronic transmission of results because it goes against a key element of APC rigging system.... Akpabio became a senate president through electoral fraud so how can he or members of his senate support electoral transparency? Nigerians can not remove these men through elections, only a national revolutionary movement to force decentralisation of power or breakup of the country can uproot these bad politicians feeding fat over their docility....

PoliticsNo Mandatory Electronic Transmission, Tinubu's 2027 Election Victory Secured by truthera(op):
I was not surprised by the news regarding what Akpabio and his associates in the national assemby did by rejecting mandatory transmission of results in the 2026 Electoral Act Amendment Bill, retaining INEC’s discretion to transfer election results (Mahmood Yakubu's rigging style). There is nothing that should surprise anyone because Tinubu owns NASS. He can not win in a free and fair election, this is why he hijacked the national assemby, state governors, the judiciary and other sensitive institutions. 2027 presidential election is gone.... Nigerians have no other choice but to either start now to protest, storming the national assembly to try their luck by pressuring Akpabio and his men to insert "Mandatory Electronic Results Transmission In Real-Time" or do nothing.....

I've on several occasions recommended that all well-meaning Nigerians who want a country should forget about participating in any election but unite to push for total decentralization (Restructuring) of political/economic powers or division of the country because nothing will change positively without a foundational reset of Nigeria.

Tinubu has already won 2027 presidential election, anyone still thinking otherwise deserves a hard knock on the head. For those who are hoping Peter Obi the paper tiger and Atiku to do something physically like leading a protest over this electronic transmission issue, you are wasting your time because Obi and Atiku are only interested in trending on social media and publishing opinion articles that feature in the front page of popular newspapers, they offer no strong opposition against Tinubu's 2027 political ambition.

No politician or foreign powers can save Nigerians except the people rise up to take charge of their future by not participating in these rigged elections, instead break the vicious cycle, their political mouse wheel by forcing a national reset through decentralisation or outright division of the country.

There is no other way out for Nigerians....

What Nigerians ought to do now is demand for restructuring or division of the country because the Muslims that are the majority in the North including their politicians pretending to be ignorant all want sharia.... It is glaring that if the religious war that US wants so badly to happen in Nigeria breaks out, you will be one of the first to call for US military to leave....

I am certain that if Tinubu was not the president and someone like Peter Obi an igbo man was the president, many of you shamefully glamoring to be invaded by USA would've been calling for his head, you would have protested to remove the government. It is a shame that other African countries especially francophone countries are rejecting western slavery/imperialism, battling to reclaim their land while many Nigerians like you are foolish not to see the long term implications of welcoming it into your country. Since you and many other Nigerians don't want to rise up as a people to your responsibility of removing a bad government because of tribalism, Tinubu will end up destroying what is left of Nigeria.... Kanu's IPOB faction has on several occasions made it clear that they are not behind the killings in the South East. Also, there are reports that the Nigerian government had a hand in sponsoring some the killings in order to build a case to jail Nnamdi Kanu. If the majority in the South Eastern region choose to protest the injustice being done to Nnamdi Kanu by seating at home every Monday, why should that bother you as it is well within their right to protest against his imprisonment...

I just read a post stating that Trump has given green light for US soldiers to begin operation in Nigeria. If this is true then Nigerians are in for another round exploitation as their country is about to be turned to theatre for proxy war of world powers. I had made several posts online warning Nigerians even before Tinubu was sworn in that he must never be allowed to continue as president, because he serves foreign interests as he was positioned to destroy the people but many of you especially on this platform kept insulting and supporting him due to foolish tribalism, now it is glaring that the ultimate goal to which Tinubu was installed is about to be achieved as Nigerians gradually lose their country and sovereignity over deliberately orchestrated cosmetic rise of insecurity, terrorism being supported by powerful local and international political forces.

US military intervention never comes as a free gift as there is always a price that must be paid by the host country. No country that America claims to help militarily remains the same as it gets worse, you can see it for yourself in Libya, Afghanistan and Iraq. Nigerians would've avoided getting into this mess by impeaching and removing Tinubu's compromised government from power and decentralising constitutional/economic powers to regional governing platforms in order to de-escalate the violence and regional tensions over Islamic sharia agitations from the northern part of the country. Once US military establishes a base in the name of fighting "Christian Genocide", it will be too late to salvage what is left of Nigeria's independence/sovereignity as proxy wars, economic exploitation and international propaganda will take centre stage leading to more violence and killings especially in the northern region. No one is spared from a military conquest when a powerful nation like USA is involved because it is not really about security but economic benefits derived from Nigeria's natural resources, they may never leave once they come.

If there are still patriots who care about the future of Nigerians and generations yet unborn now is the time to stand up and do something about what is happening in Nigeria. Tinubu never promised to improve Nigeria's security or unite the country over his Muslim/Muslim ticket, his government is highly compromised over these killings/terrorism going on. Unless the terrible government is removed, Nigeria will gradually play into hands of powerful countries like USA that seeks to advance it's own selfish political agenda that is not in the interest of Nigerians and their future.....

What a man does in his home is of no business to you as you do not live with him. There is nothing wrong with the igbos choice of dedicating a day to show solidarity in the struggle to free Nnamdi Kanu. I believe the reason why some South East governors like Soludo are restless is because they have a hand in the continued imprisonment of Nnamdi Kanu. It was not surprising to see how low Soludo will go in his quest to bury the truth and try to subvert the will of his people over the unjust incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu by Nigerian government. Soludo and other South East leaders failed their people by not doing enough to secure the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu whose only crime was to liberate his people from injustice. How will Monday sit at home protest end when Nnamdi Kanu is not free?

The fact that the traders obeyed out of fear to open the market this week does not mean that all is well, Soludo knows the truth that Nigeria can never work in its current form but due to his selfish political ambition, he chose to be a willing stooge, a foot servant for those who believe they own Nigeria and are bent on oppressing his people (the igbos).

Whether Soludo succeeds in his drive to keep Onitsha main market open on Mondays, it won't stop the sit at home protest that will continue in other parts of the state and South East region in general until the will of the people prevails....Nnamdi Kanu may be in jail but his legacy can never be buried or forgotten, at the appointed time he will regain his freedom....

Alex Otti, Charles Soludo, Hope Uzodinma, Mba and other South East governors, you may think that you are wise by secretly supporting Nnamdi Kanu imprisonment, making empty promises of securing his freedom while you continue to deceive yourselves thinking that the people don't know your game plan as 2027 election draws near. I hope you are prepared for a rude awakening because if Nnamdi Kanu is not released before 2027, there may be no 2027 election in igbo land, Monday sit at home protest is only a prelude for what is coming. For siding with your people's oppressors in denying them justice, none of you will escape the wrath of the people for the role you played when the time comes....

PoliticsHow Nnamdi Kanu Was Convicted On Engineered Insecurity by truthera(op): 7:22am On Jan 16
The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has declared that the conviction of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, was based on what it described as ‘engineered insecurity’.

IPOB made the assertion in a statement by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, on Wednesday. The pro-Biafra group noted that Kanu could not have been responsible for the insecurity in the South-East while he was held in solitary confinement, with no access to phone or the outside world.

IPOB blamed individuals it described as ‘desperate political’ actors for the violence that rocked the South-East after Kanu’s extraordinary rendition from Kenya, where he was arrested in 2021.

According to the statement, the insecurity was engineered to frame Kanu and IPOB as terrorists, to pave way for his eventual conviction.

Parts of the statement, titled ‘Engineered insecurity and judicial absurdity: How a man in solitary confinement was blamed for crimes he could not have committed’, read, “The noble family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) draws the attention of Nigerians and the international community to a dangerous lie that has been carefully constructed to justify the continued detention and conviction of our leader.

"Immediately after the extraordinary rendition of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in June 2021, desperate political actors—many of whom have long envied his influence—unleashed violence and chaos across the South-East. Their aim was simple and wicked: create insecurity and blame it on Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, so they could later claim they were right to abduct, detain, and jail him.

“These are the same people who rushed to proscribe IPOB, after Ekwulobia and Aba mega rallies in mid-2017 where millions trooped out just to catch a glimpse of our leader, even though the Abuja Federal High Court had earlier in March 2017 ruled that IPOB is not a terrorist organisation. In plain terms, a group declared lawful by a court was later branded “terrorist” through ex-parte for political convenience.

“These are the same people that killed IPOB members that organised and attended President Trump Solidarity Rally in Igweocha (Port Harcourt) on 20 January 2017. Again, Biafrans killed without justification.

"It is painful to note that yet again, the same forces behind the manufactured insecurity are the same ones who unleashed Operation Python Dance, a military operation that targeted Mazi Nnamdi Kanu for assassination and led to the killing of unarmed civilians across the South-East with 28 murdered in his country home.”

IPOB said it was shocking that the trial judge in Nnamdi Kanu’s trial blamed him for insecurity in the South-East without any evidence.

The statement added, “Most shocking of all is what followed in court. In his judgment, Omotosho repeatedly cited insecurity in the South-East from 2022 onwards and blamed it on Mazi Nnamdi Kanu—despite the fact that Mazi Kanu had already been abducted, rendered to Nigeria, and locked in underground solitary confinement.

"Let Nigerians and the world pause and think. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was held incommunicado in the custody of the (DSS) in Abuja. He had no phone, no visitors, no access to the outside world. Yet he was blamed for events said to have happened in the South-East, outside prison walls.

“This is not justice. It is judicial nonsense. Let us state the absurdity clearly: A man in total state custody was convicted for crimes allegedly committed while he was in chains.

In any sane country, such reasoning by a supposed learned judge would attract instant condemnation from fellow judges and the legal fraternity. But in Nigeria, the plot was so well executed that many people stopped asking basic questions.”

IPOB insisted that there is no evidence to tie Kanu to the violence and killings blamed on him.

“Nobody has asked: Who did Mazi Nnamdi Kanu kill? Who came to court to say Kanu killed their brother, sister, or parent? Where is the evidence—bodies, witnesses, forensic proof? There is none. Absolutely none.

“Those who planned this deception did a thorough job. They confused the public, silenced questions, and drowned the truth in propaganda. But no lie lasts forever.

“If these Igbo politicians and their external sponsors had been honest enough to admit that the insecurity story was deliberately created just to jail Kanu, our leader would have willingly sacrificed himself if it would have saved the innocent Biafrans who were killed simply to build a case against him. Their blood cries out,” the group added.

IPOB called on the international community, foreign governments and parliaments, human rights organisations, lawyers and judges of conscience,
“to look beyond propaganda and confront the truth: this conviction is built on manufactured insecurity, no evidence, and the criminalisation of political dissent”.

“History will remember those who spoke the truth—and those who used chaos to silence a man,”
IPOB declared.

PoliticsRe: Nnamdi Kanu Remains In Prison As 70 Terrorists Are Freed In Katsina State by truthera(op):
What you said about Nnamdi Kanu regarding his views toward your tribe yoruba is a lie.... If you don't know, here is a video where he explained his views about your tribe and end SARS protest...

Godfullsam:
You said yorubas are silence about the injustice done against kanu by the Nigerian government grin.
Who were the people that led the a protest in Abuja late last year for the release of kanu?
Sowore and Deji Adeyanju.
How many prominent Igbo have come out to lead any protest?

For your information, I am not a fan of kanu because I am not an igbo and kanu is not fighting for my cause. I have nothing to gain from kanu. The last time I checked, kanu hate my tribe - the yorubas with passion.

There evidences in many of his broadcasts radio Biafra where he ordered his foot soldiers aka ipob terrorists to burn down Lagos and destroy all the churches owned by Yoruba clerics in Igbo land.

How do you expect me to like such a person? I can never pretend to like someone that openly hates me.
You guys should fight your fights and leave yorubas out of it. The yorubas have faced their own injustices in the past, but we handled them with deplomacy, not with emotions.

How many Igbos flood the streets of Abuja to protest when Abiola was jailed. Don't you know that it was an igbo man that first challenged the result of abiola's victory in court which eventually led to the annulment?

You want me to take you back to memory lane abi?

No vex me this evening o cool
