If you read my post then please check sections of the constitution that I sighted. Do you have proof that Nnamdi Kanu killed Ahmed Gulak? None of fake witnesses presented had no evidence to link Kanu with any murder.

kunle4toyeyaho:
Why do majority of Igbos always attach ethnic sentiment to issues? Was PMB that arrested him a Yoruba man? Are you saying Tinubu should have subverted judicial process? Was Ahmed Gulak that was allegedly murdered a Yoruba man? The man committed offence against Nigeria's state and not a Yoruba affair

I've seen this kind of comment been made severally, I wonder why so many people here are peddling barefaced lies against Nnamdi Kanu with no shame. The FG prosecution team presented 5 anonymous fake witnesses wth fake names to testify against Kanu. None of these fake witnesses in their testimonies were able to indict Kanu directly of any act of terrorism or killings, instead they told stories of what he said and Youtube videos they watched. None of the witnesses were able to provide evidence or prove how Kanu carried a gun and led his gunmen to attack villages or towns. No witness was able to provide evidence linking Kanu's broadcasts directly to the killing of any of the victims they mentioned, they failed to call one real victim to corroborate their fake testimonies in court. No real IPOB gunman was presented in court to validate their bogus claims or say how Kanu's broadcast made him or her to go and kill. All anonymous witnesses were strangely and conveniently DSS operatives with no neutral party presented as a witness by the prosecution team. This is what you and many others call justice while there are real evidences indicting your "saint" federal government of mass murder in the south east.

PoliticsTo All Yorubas Defending Nonsense Over Nnamdi Kanu's Conviction by truthera(op):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvhMsVEWrq8

To all the yorubas rejoicing and defending illegality over political sentiments or outright tribal hate for Nnamdi Kanu and igbos, note that Tinubu's yorubacentric government will end very soon, it won't pass 2031 if he succeeds in 2027 to rig/buy votes and with the help of crooked judges like Omotosho willing to extend his tenure. When Tinubu is eventually out of power, the new fulani backed federal government that will emerge will go hard on you all over this injustice you are celebrating today, you will remember this when the islamists jihadi government starts arrested your people over your agitations for Oduduwa nation, by that time it will be too late as the wicked unjust illegal precedence you have set today will haunt you all tomorrow. I will reiterate that Nigeria is doomed as it's inevitable disintegration is bound to happen. It is clear that this is no longer a country but a prison for the igbos, I believe at the appointed time they will leave the evil contraption.

I will urge all igbos and Nigerians who care about Nnamdi Kanu to begin the push to move this case to the ICC so as to enable Tinubu, Justice Omotosho and all others involved in this shameful trial to explain to the whole world how Nnamdi Kanu who has not held a gun to shoot any person is a terrorist, let justice Omotosho go to the ICC to explain why his illegal conviction must stand....

Justice Omotosho will forever be remembered as the shameless judge that destroyed what was left of Nigeria's judicial reputation in the international community over his flagrant disregard/violation of section 1 (3), section 36 (9) and section 36 (12) of the 1999 constitution....

Let all those currently celebrating this injustice, this lawlessness begin to make preperations on how they will deal with it's eventual consequences when it gets to their turn....

The injustice will surely go round....

PoliticsNnamdi Kanu, Justice Omotosho And The End Of Nigeria by truthera(op):
Yesterday, I made a post here titled "Nnamdi Kanu's Illegal Conviction And Nigeria's Lawless Corrupt Judiciary" in which I listed the constitutional illegalities by Justice Omotosho continuing Mazi Kanu's trial. I am not suprised with the outcome of today's judgement as Justice Omotosho's judicial antecedents is already in the public domain for all to see what he represents based on how he connived with Wike over Rivers state crisis.

With what that has happened, Nigeria has officially declared itself as a failed state, a lawless entity that no other country should respect. The prophetic declaration of Nnamdi Kanu over Nigeria has been fulfilled and let no one say that Nnamdi Kanu was a liar, let no one say that igbos do not deserve to leave the British experiment called Nigeria. Nigerians still foolishly holding on the illusion of a better country need to wake up to the reality that the country was never meant to succeed, that the country created by British colonialists is a weapon of mass destruction fashioned against them....Nigeria is finished and no one can save it. The inevitable outcome of all these evils, injustices and hate will be the total disintegration of the cosmetic union between the north and the south, between christians and muslims, between igbos, hausa/fulanis and yorubas, between the oppressed and the oppressors, nothing will stop this from happening so that the whole world will know that Nnamdi Kanu was God sent to liberate his people. Nigeria will have no peace or make any genuine national progress until Nnamdi Kanu's prophetic words over it's eventual dissolution comes to pass.

Justice Omotosho, Tinubu, Wike, Akpabio and all who aided this unjust shameful trial should bury their heads in total shame, you all will not escape the consequences of your evil seeds on Nigeria. To all other Nigerians rejoicing over what they did to Nnamdi Kanu, in due time you all will remember today in regret, a day that Nigeria sealed it's fate as a failed evil unjust nation.

There is no peace for the wicked.... There is no peace without justice....

Justice Omotosho, Wike's political associate that connived to truncate democracy in Rivers State...
PoliticsJustice James Omotosho's Judicial Atrocities In Rivers State Over Nyesom Wike by truthera(op): 1:22pm On Nov 20, 2025
One month after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu proclaimed a state of emergency over Rivers State last March, on 18 April 2025, former Rivers State Governor, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and Life Member of the Body of Benchers, Nyesom Wike, held one of his beverage-powered media encounters in Abuja, during which he proclaimed with characteristic exuberance that his successor as Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, “should thank Mr. President” for the emergency proclamation.

On 22 October, 2025, this line officially made it into Nigerian jurisprudence when James Omotosho, a judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, decided in Suit No. FHC/PH/CS/53/2025 that the plaintiff “should be grateful” that the president proclaimed the emergency over Rivers State. The messenger through whom these words have now officially become law in Nigeria offers important insights into what has become the fate of judicial office in the country.

When he terminated the emergency rule in Rivers State in September 2025, President Tinubu took time to acknowledge “over 40 cases in the courts in Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Yenagoa” filed to challenge the declaration, noting with a touch of presidential menace that “some cases are still pending in the courts as of today.” On 22 April, James Omotosho decided one of those pending cases.

The plaintiff in the case was Samuel Amatonjie, who describes himself as a resident and registered voter in Rivers State, as well as a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, (NBA). That means he is also a lawyer. The six defendants in the case included the President of Nigeria, the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Attorney-General of the Federation, the National Assembly, and the Military Administrator of the Emergency.

Although he filed the case at the Port Harcourt Division of the Federal High Court, Mr. Amatonjie’s case traveled inexplicably to Abuja where it inexorably ended up in the court of James Omotosho, a judge whose fixation with all matters in which Nyesom Wike has even the most tangential of interests has become plainly pathological. Some context is essential here.

In October 2023, a mere five months after the end of Mr. Wike’s tenure as governor of Rivers State, the State House of Assembly, the site of an early attempt to remove the governor, suffered a conveniently-timed fire incident. It became evident that the relationship between Mr. Wike and Siminalayi Fubara, his hand-picked successor, was hopelessly fractured. In the wake of that, the state legislature splintered into two factions, respectively loyal to the incumbent governor and to his predecessor.

On 6 November 2023, the faction loyal to the governor headed to the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, the State capital, seeking judicial legitimation of its claims to being in lawful control of the parliamentary gavel. They applied in proceedings intended to be heard without the other parties present (ex-parte) for an order to restrain the other faction from interfering with their conduct of legislative duties. Delivering her ruling the following day in Suit No. FHC/PH/CS/240/2023, Phoebe Ayua, the presiding judge, declined this application; required that all sides be put on notice for a full hearing; and ordered that the parties “should not take any step concerning the subject matter, since the matter is already before this court.”

Three weeks later, on 29 November 2023, while this order remained undischarged, Martin Amaewhule, the Speaker of the faction in the State House of Assembly loyal to Mr. Wike and, himself a named defendant in the proceedings before Justice Phoebe Ayua, filed Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1613/2023 before the same Federal High Court in Abuja on the same subject matter. Like the previous suit, Amaewhule sought judicial legitimation of a factional claim to control of the Rivers State legislature, asking the court to restrain federal authorities and institutions as well as the Governor of Rivers State from exerting financial or other pressures on them and ensuring release to them of all federal allocations standing to the credit of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

As with the previous suit in Port Harcourt, the plaintiffs in the case before the Federal High Court invited the judge in Abuja to grant them these reliefs without hearing the named defendants. The following day, on 30 November, James Omotosho, the judge who presided over the proceedings in Abuja, ruled swiftly and, unlike his colleague in the Port Harcourt case, promptly granted all the reliefs sought without hearing any other person.

This was not the first time that James Omotosho would be granting curious orders that support the political interests of Mr. Wike. In the month originally preceding the governorship election in 2019, he issued an order restraining the All Progressives Congress (APC), the main opposition party in Rivers State, from presenting any candidate in the governorship election, all but ensuring that the governorship election in the State was Mr. Wike’s electoral non-event.

In February 2023, James Omotosho again issued another order restraining the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) – who were not afforded a hearing –  from taking disciplinary measures against Mr. Wike on allegations of anti-party activities.

In January 2024, James Omotosho voided the Appropriations of Rivers State and issued a most remarkable of à la carte  judicial orders restraining the State Governor from “frustrating” the Amaewhule faction of the House of Assembly loyal to Mr. Wike.

On the last day of October 2025, the same judge struck again in proceedings filed by Mr. Wike’s loyalists, granting them an à la carte order to invalidate the proposed national convention of the PDP by restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from attending or recognizing it.

The sheer range of the magnetic forces that bind this judge with Mr. Wike’s interests is well beyond the ordinary laws of both physics and of judicial administration. Those forces were on full advertisement in this judgment on Samuel Amatonjie case. First, the judge held that he did not have jurisdiction over the subject matter. Next, he held that Mr. Amatonjie lacked the standing to bring the case anyway. Indeed, the judge held that the case was so void that “the originating process ought not to have been accepted for filing, let alone wasting the precious time of the court.”

The case ought to have ended there. But the judge would not be assuaged and his judgment, enthusiastically supported with the authority of Wikipedia, swiftly descended into farce.

Turning to the requirement for the National Assembly to approve emergency rule by a joint resolution of two-thirds majority, the James Omotosho ruled that “nowhere in section 305 of the Constitution is there any specific method” for reaching this resolution and, therefore, that “if the National Assembly in their discretion decide to use voice votes in approving the proclamation, they are within their constitutional powers to do the same.” The man has his unique Omotosho version of the Constitution.

Having held that he lacked jurisdiction and the claimant lacked standing to bring the case, James Omotosho, however, “dismissed” the case. But he reserved his best for last, rounding off with an audacious act of judicial malpractice by imposing costs of Nine Million Naira on the Plaintiff in favour of Respondents, each of whom was sued in institutional capacity.

The only thing more bizarre than the jurisprudence or the orders that emanate from the court of James Omotosho is the predictability with which all cases affecting the political interests of Mr. Wike at the Federal High Court improbably end up on his docket. That is a matter of à la carte law which can only be explained by the troika of Mr. Wike, his favorite judge, and the current Chief Judge of the Federal High Court.

190 years ago, when he wrote the classic, Democracy in America, Alexis de Tocqueville decided to devote a chapter to “judicial power”, which he described as “a political power of the first order.” In the Court of James Omotosho, de Tocqueville finds his proof as well as the falsification of his thesis. The ends may be political but can that also be said of the means by which they are procured?

Politics#EndBadGovernance Movement Declares Another Nationwide Protest Against Tinubu by truthera(op): 12:22am On Nov 20, 2025
The group cited what it described as escalating repression and systemic violations of democratic rights under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The #EndBadGovernance Movement has announced a nationwide protest scheduled for December 10, 2025, to coincide with the World Human Rights Day.

The declaration was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, and signed by the group’s spokesperson, H. T. Soweto.

“Today, the #EndBadGovernance Movement is officially declaring a Nationwide Protest to observe World Human Rights Day on December 10th,” the statement read.

“This protest has become inevitable given the increasing Repression and attack on Democratic Rights by the Tinubu regime.”

The group accused the Tinubu administration of rolling back democratic gains won since Nigeria’s return to civilian rule in 1999.

“At a period Nigerians should benefit from the sacrifices paid by the heroes of Democracy, the Tinubu regime entrenched authoritarianism. The Right to peaceful assembly and Freedom of speech have been snuffed out,” the group stated.

According to the Movement, several young Nigerians who participated in demonstrations over economic hardship and governance failures continue to suffer long-term consequences.

It cited the case of Michael Adaramoye, Daniel Akande, and nine others who, it noted, are still facing treason charges for participating in the August 2024 protest.

“Michael Adaramoye, Daniel Akande, and 9 others are still facing treason charges for participating in the August 2024 protest,” the statement added.

The group added that “Despite spending 59 days in detention, their Bank accounts are still frozen and their working tools, like laptops, phones, are still with the Nigerian Police.”

It further alleged that “Several other protesters in Katsina, Gombe, Kaduna, Kano, etc., are still facing trial simply for demanding an end to hunger.”

The group also said that “Several journalists, bloggers, and activists are in detention or going through trial for dissenting views.”
“Time to fight back! Let the mobilisation begin,” the group declared.

The group’s demands include, “Halt the sham trial of Adaramoye Michael Lenin, Daniel Akande, and 9 other #EndBadGovernance protesters on trial for treason since last year.

“Free all protesters/activists on trial nationwide. Halt the frequent persecution of notable human rights defenders like Omoyele Sowore, Isah Mokwa, and others.
“End the persecution of labour activists like Abiodun Bamigboye (Abbey Trotsky) and Andrew Emelieze.

“End the mysterious disappearance and persecution of journalists like Fejiro Oliver, as well as TikTokers and bloggers,” stressing that a free and independent media is non-negotiable.

Other demands are “Stop victimising students' activists. Reverse all punitive measures against the Ul 3 (Aduwo Ayodele, Nice Linus, and Mide Gbadegesin). No restriction of protests to designated locations. Respect the right to freedom of assembly.

“Stop raiding, illegal profiling, stop and search/arrest without valid warrants. Immediate release of all unjustly incarcerated Nigerians across the country.
“Respect the right to freedom of expression. No usage of anti-terrorism laws and the Cybercrime Act to muzzle citizens' voices.

“Sack the IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, for presiding over a highly irresponsible, corrupt, and murderous police force that habitually abuses human rights.

“For the Nigerian police to pay all judgment debts and compensations for their flagrant abuses as ordered by the courts.

“Shelter is a human right. End all unjust demolitions. Stop land-grabbing. For adequate compensation to all victims.”

World Human Rights Day, observed annually on December 10, commemorates the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948.

In Nigeria, the day has often served as a rallying point for civil society groups campaigning against government abuses, security force brutality, and infringements on fundamental freedoms.

The planned protest comes amid rising economic hardship, widespread frustration over inflation, unemployment, and deteriorating living conditions.
Civil society organisations have repeatedly accused the Tinubu government of responding to public dissent with arrests, harsh bail conditions, and prolonged trials.
The #EndBadGovernance Movement emerged in the aftermath of the August 2024 nationwide protests, during which security forces arrested dozens of demonstrators.
Human rights organisations, including Amnesty International and Socio-Economic Rights And Accountability Project (SERAP), have since raised concerns over what they describe as shrinking civic space and the criminalisation of peaceful protest in Nigeria.

With the latest protest declaration, the movement appears set to rekindle national mobilisation reminiscent of the 2020 #EndSARS protests, though under far more restrictive civic conditions.

PoliticsRe: Nnamdi Kanu's Illegal Conviction And Nigeria's Lawless Corrupt Judiciary by truthera(op):
Simply put, a government that can subvert it's country's constitution can not and will not support or give you justice. If supreme court judges in a flagrant disregard of section 36 (9) forced the illegal continuation of Nnamdi Kanu's trial then nothing should surprise you over the outcome of tomorrows judgement as a replication of this mockery of justice by the Supreme Court at the Justice Omotosho's federal high court will only reinforce the popular notion that justice in Nigeria has gone to the dogs, and that Nigeria's judges, even the Supreme Court judges, have been reduced to hustlers, who, in their bazaar mentality, can pander to even the most atrocious selfish agenda of any highest bidder.

With the pathetic corrupt state of the country's justice system, there is no doubt that the judiciary who are the Supreme Arbiters of Nigeria have abandoned the essence of their oath of office, which is striving for the greatest good, and embraced the greatest evil. For in the words of the ancient Greek philosopher, Plato, “…justice is the greatest good and injustice the greatest evil”. This signifies a complete moral and ethical disaster for the country; and presage to Nigerians total loss of sense of outrage.

In the words of a onetime American senator, Daniel Moynihan, “Any nation that has lost its sense of outrage, is destined for extinction”.

I hold no hope for Nigeria as the British experiment has expired, only total restructuring or division of the country will save it's indigenous people from destruction.

I think Nnamdi Kanu knew he wouldn't ever get justice in Nigeria

A government that illegally sends Soldiers to your house to kill you isn't one that is looking to give you justice

A government that breaks its own extradition laws, and that of Kenya, to go and kidnap you and bring you back to Nigeria, isn't one that cares about giving you justice

A government that refuses to release you when the courts order that you be released, is not one that will give you justice

PoliticsNnamdi Kanu's Illegal Conviction And Nigeria's Lawless Corrupt Judiciary by truthera(op):
Tomorrow will be the final showdown between Nnamdi Kanu, Justice Omotosho and the federal government as Kanu's unjust trial which has been a subject of international shame to Nigeria comes to an end, all eyes will be on Justice Omotosho to see which section of the constitution he will quote to sentence Kanu over the terrorism charges brought against him by the government.

I've on several threads made the case that Nnamdi Kanu's trial is unconstitutional. Justice Omotosho will uphold illegality if Kanu is not released on 20th November 2025. There is no judge or court that is bigger than the 1999 constitution. Section 1 (3) of the constitution states that if any other law is not consistent with the provisions of the constitution, such law become void. This is to say that any legal interpretation, judgement or declaration that does not adhere to any section or provisions clearly stated by the constitution should be disregarded so based on section 1 (3), if Nnamdi Kanu must be sentenced, Justice Omotosho must ensure that his judgement does not contradict any provisions of 1999 constitution which will be impossible for him to do due to the following points I will list below.

- Non-Existent Law

It is no longer news that terrorism charges filed against Nnamdi Kanu was based on a repealed Terrorism Prevention Amendment Act 2013 so one wonders on what basis will Justice Omotosho declare Nnamdi Kanu guilty. Even if 2013 Terrorism Prevention Amendment Act was not repealed and replaced Kanu will still not be guilty of any terror charges against him. Section 36 (12) of 1999 constitution states that a person shall not be convicted of an offence unless the offence is defined and penality prescribed in a written law so let's assume Kanu is guilty which he is not, Omotosho will be violating this section of the constitution as he can not convict based on repealed non-existent law.

- Appeal Court Judgement

Another reason why Nnamdi Kanu's trial remains unconstitutional is what is written in section 36 (9) of the constitution. It states that no person that has been tried by any court for a criminal offence and convicted or freed can not face trial again for the same case. Since the Abuja court of appeal discharged Kanu, Justice Omotosho should've thrown out the suit, this second trial should not have been entertained by either the Supreme Court or Justice Omotosho's Federal High Court. The law is clear as once a person is acquitted, he can’t face trial again on same case. Supreme Court’s ruling to reopen Kanu's case clearly ignored this law.

In summary, what Nigeria's judiciary has done and currently doing to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is nothing but injustice.... Kanu's illegal sentencing on 20th November 2025 will be a final confirmation that Nigeria's judiciary is irredeemably corrupt and lawless.... It will be the final verdict that Nigeria is a failed state, a banana republic, a zoo!

If Nigeria shamelessly fails to uphold it's laws in this case then it should be prepared to defend it's unjust lawless actions in the International Criminal Court (ICC) over Nnamdi Kanu...

Justice Omotosho, the whole world is watching you....

I noticed that no mod or user responded to explain the criteria set for spam bot as comments on my threads and many other threads continue to be deleted. The normal practice for most social platforms towards spam post are usually community driven where a report button is provided and once a user reports a post as spam then it is reviewed and not the way it is been done by Nairaland where "bot" (which may be an actual human) deletes posts without any transparency as to why it was deleted or user reportage. What is happening here as regards the "Anti-spam bot" is glorified censorship..... It is a shame.

All those that are insulting Nnamdi Kanu today, will bury their heads in shame when he wins his case. Nigeria government will have no other option but to release him.
PoliticsIs The Anti-Spam Bot Been Used To Silence Users Opinions? by truthera(op):
I've noticed a surge in number of users deleted comments on many threads I read on this platform. The strange "bot" is now so draconian that even when you make a genuine comment, it deletes your post and bans you. There appears to be something sinister going on through the "Anti-Spam bot" as many real users continue to be silenced and can't post their opinions on several threads without been bullied by this hostile bot. I am not sure if any other social platform censors it users the extreme way Nairaland is doing lately.

This has gone out of hand..... I may stop interacting on this platform if it continues.
