Is this not confirmation of the systemic injustice towards I-gbos in Nigeria? Tinubu has succeeded in destroying completely the image of Yoruba people in the eyes of other Nigerians. With all he has done, it is glaring that there will never be a Yoruba presidency again in Nigeria after his gone. It is indeed a shame that his tribesmen are not left out due to their complicity by their hatred, biased sentiments and continued support of every evil callous actions of his government. Nigerians from other tribes are watching and taking notes of who the yoruba people are, what they represent and their shared values especially when it comes to hate, tribalism, truth, justice and national inclusivity. Just like how Buhari's presidency exposed the hypocrisy of the fulanis, Tinubu's terrible divisive government will cause the yorubas an irreparable national damage as no Nigerian from other tribe may ever trust or want to support a Yoruba presidency ever again after 2031 if Tinubu succeeds in rigging the 2027 election. Nigerians will never forget the injustice, lawlessness and extreme hateful tribalism of this Yoruba government. Nigeria may be better off restructured or divided. |
It is okay for you to have your victory dance once more in 2027 but note that it may be your last as far as Yoruba presidency is concerned. Nigerians especially in the north will never support it again. seunmsg: |
I do agree that Tinubu may be the last Yoruba president in Nigeria, not because of his corrupt actions and draconian policies but because of the complicity of the Yoruba people and the role they played in supporting the attrocities of his government. A typical example of what I mean is the comment made by seunmsg a yoruba man below and other comments/actions of the yoruba people in support of Tinubu's bad government. Nigerians from other tribes are watching and taking notes of who the yoruba people are, what they represent and their shared values especially when it comes to hate, tribalism, truth, justice and national inclusivity. Just like how Buhari's presidency exposed the hypocrisy of the fulanis, Tinubu's terrible tribalistic government will cause the yorubas irreparable national damage as no Nigerian from other tribe may ever trust or want to support a Yoruba presidency again after 2031 if Tinubu rigs the 2027 election successfully. Posterity will always be the final judge after all is said and done. seunmsg: |
Yes in Nigeria, evil politicians have weaponized tribalism to keep the people divided while they plunder the nation's resources. sirray001: |
What exactly did the i-gbo people do to you? In my opinion, it is wrong to demonize a group of people just because of the action of a few bad people. The mob hate mentality been peddled by divisive agents may have influence you but it does not change the fact that i-gbo people are not all bad people just like your tribesmen are not all good people. Try to detoxify your mind from APC Nairaland tribal propaganda. jaymichael: |

Your hate-ful utterances does not change the fact that you love injustice and your evil political oppressors. Nothing will give you more joy than to see Nnamdi Kanu killed on the alter of your hatred for i-gbo people. My only consolation is that you and your loved ones still live in Nigeria, you like other Nigerians will inherit the consequences of what Nigeria will become at the end of Tinubu's tyrannical lawless government. sreamsense: |
The truth is that many Nigerians are too scared, selfish and sectional to support a nationwide protest and the evil Nigerian leaders knows that Nigerians can not come out en mass to protest against them. richiemcgold: |
Peter Obi has proven that he is a sectional leader who seem to care more about his political gains than being a selfless defender of justice which he pretends to be. He is too petty and cowardly to be the revolutionary leader that Nigeria needs at this critical time. There is no excuse that will exonerate him over his failure to support the peaceful protest and speak against the injustice on Nnamdi Kanu his tribesman. You've accused IPOB of violence but intentional omitted the government's own side of violent conduct that triggered the crisis. I understand you are an Obidient member so your outburst in defence of Peter Obi is borne out of emotional sentiments and not based on facts. Adaisback: |
That's fine since such suit will need to be filed by Buhari's family. It is not a treasonable offense. WhizdomXX: |
Hmm well I never said in my post that I was a saint.... If Nigerians had trooped out en mass for the protest I believe Tinubu would not have been able to easily get away with tyranny. I was at the protest ground and was denied access to the unity fountain. There were so many other Nigerians in their cars who drove by, seeing the injustice been done by the police towards the few protesters chose to look away and drive off. It was easy for the police to disperse protesters because the turnout was low. I think if many more Nigerians can let go of fear, selfish sentiments and tribalism, sacrifice to participate in peaceful protests, it will go a long way even though Tinubu's shameless APC government will still deploy armed men to try to arrest them. Peaceful protest is now a crime in Nigeria. lamentor78: |
You think it is funny right? The injustice been perpetrated by this government will definitely get to you one day, may be then you will have a better understanding of the damage Tinubu has done to Nigeria. jaymichael: |
Don't you feel any shame supporting tyranny? malali: |
It is indeed a national day of shame! As Tinubu's shameless government once again trampled on the consitution by criminalizing a peaceful Abuja protest, with heavily armed police men firing live bullets, teargas at peaceful protesters at will without any provocation. It is unfortunate that the only crime these protesters committed was to exercise their fundamental human rights to demand for an end to injustice in Nigeria, to demand for Nnamdi Kanu to be released. Tinubu in 2012 alongside Buhari and other APC political figures currently part of his government shutdown Abuja the federal capital for over a week in protest against then president Jonathan's fuel price deregulation policy. He has overtime enjoyed the freedom that comes with democracy. It is sad that now as president, he has denied Nigerians that freedom he enjoyed by ensuring that they don't protest or speak out against any of the atrocities been commited by his lawless government. Any one who still foolishly believes that this government is democratic, can now see that Nigeria is been ruled by a ruthless dictator. We have no democracy any more in Nigeria, what it is been practised now is dictatorial civilian administration pretending to be democratic. For all those who are happy over the injustice that was done to Sowore and other protesters, remember that tomorrow, it will be your turn. You will face the monster that you've emboldened and no one will be there to speak up for you or help you. Today's protest may not have achieved it's aim of restoring Nnamdi Kanu's freedom but it has exposed Tinubu's tyrannical brutal leadership, the lawlessness of his government and the pervasive injustices that exists in Nigeria for the whole world to see. Tinubu has succeeded in destroying what is left of Nigeria's democracy! |
And you are happy about that right? Tomorrow you may be treated unjustly by the same government you are hailing now and no one will be their to speak up for you. madridguy: Cmanforall: |
I am still at unity fountain and police men have sealed up the place. Nigeria is not a democratic country. |
I am not a politician neither am I working for a politician. Is it my profile activity that is important or what i have to say? I expected you to tell me if what I said about Obi is not true. I can choose to post my opinion on any topic that I find interesting and you can choose to post yours as well. I've laid out my opinion on Peter Obi, if you are not happy then refute it objectively instead of attacking my profile. Has Peter Obi not been silent over the continued injustice towards Nnamdi Kanu by Nigeria's government? Again, I ask what has he done to help Nnamdi Kanu? HisSexcellency: |
I was at the protest ground and still currently close to the unity fountain maitama area. Heavy armed police men have sealed up every where. All protesters were disparsed by police. It is a shame that the government chose to attack protesters. |
Malali I already know your intention as you keep peddling half truths and lies against Kanu and IPOB all over this platform. You have not once called out the government for it's role over the violence and killings in the south east. Your hate won't stop the release of Nnamdi Kanu. malali: |
Can you explain how I've no point? Seem you are part of the Obidient movement. Peter Obi can not be trusted. DMerciful: |
Nnamdi Kanu was charged for terrorism and not about what he said regarding Buhari. Nigeria's government has failed to produce a single witness to testify how Kanu was directly linked to any killings or violence in the south east. malali: |
A joint detachment of defence and security operatives has forcefully dispersed the Omoyele Sowore-led #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protesters in the Maitama Area of Abuja. The protesters, which included Sowore, Barr. Aloy Ejimakor and others had gathered around the Nigeria Communications Commission NCC headquarters in Maitama, chanting “Free Nnamdi Kanu Now”. They were also heard cautioning the police against teargassing them just before sounds of gunshots were heard, and they scampered to safety. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/10/breaking-security-operatives-fire-at-freennamdikanunow-protesters-in-abuja/ |
My answer to your question is irrelevant because I don't have an ambition to be the president of Nigeria. When you decide to become a public figure or occupy a public office like governor or vying to become a president of a country then you should be able to develop the thick skin required for the office. People will call you unprintable names and say all kinds of things about you. Peter Obi can not use that as an excuse not to support the movement to release Nnamdi Kanu if he truly believes in what he preaches regarding justice, competent principled leadership and accountability. malali: |
Peaceful protest is not illegal. Nigeria government's violent campaign against IPOB brought about tragic consequencies, destruction of lives and properties. You keep parroting the same false narrative on every thread about Nnamdi Kanu. malali: |
I understand that Kanu had in the past spoken negatively about Peter Obi sleeping with other men. If this is another reason behind his silence over the injustice towards Nnamdi Kanu, then it shows that he is too petty to be Nigeria's president. It shows that his strong principled stance against injustice is a farce. |
Earlier this year, Ibom Air passenger Comfort Emmanson was dragged almost naked off a plane after assaulting airline personnel. Peter Obi in his usual antics of reacting in a bombastic way to every national issue, released a press statement in which he said. “We must end this selective treatment of the poor or less privileged. If justice must be served, it should be served to all, and it must be served fairly." “The rule of law based on justice for all must remain the guidepost of our democracy.” Ever since #FreeNnamdiKanu movement started, Peter Obi strangely has gone silent, he appear to have suddenly lost his voice, his usually way of dominating the news cycle seem non existent, unlike the case of Ibom Air passenger Comfort Emmanson, Peter Obi appears to have lost his strong stance on justice in calling for an end to the unjust treatment of Nnamdi Kanu. I had wondered as it was not clear to me initially as to why Peter Obi who usually loves to grace the front pages of newspapers on every national trending issue will choose to be silent and stay away from supporting the release of Nnamdi Kanu until Sowore made a revelation about it. While responding to a question asked by Seun Okinbaloye whether he reached out to Peter Obi, Sowore said, "Well, Peter Obi interestingly never got back to me. I found out two days ago that he had responded somehow, and I think it was a measured response. “He said, ‘Okay, you know, they shouldn't have arrested him.’ I think Peter Obi and his people feel like this is some kind of ‘steal the show,’ we don't want to be part of it kind of thing. But anybody who is sensible would understand that where there's injustice, you don't look at who is fighting for what is a just cause. You think about the cause.” I watched a video of his response regarding Nnamdi Kanu and all what Obi could say about it in summary was a lame response that Nnamdi Kanu should not have been arrested in the first place. Peter Obi has always portrayed himself as the face of the oppressed in Nigeria, he has on several occasions portrayed himself as someone who believes strongly in justice. It is indeed a shame that he chose to politicize joining a peaceful protest to demand for the release of Nnamdi Kanu by staying away simply because he is not the one that started the movement or leading it. Just as Sowore said and I agree that "where there's injustice, you don't look at who is fighting for what is a just cause. You think about the cause". The fact that Peter Obi, an Igbo man can not rally his base to join the October 20th peaceful protest in soildarity to demand for an end to the continued injustice towards Nnamdi Kanu, shows that Peter Obi cannot be trusted. It is a confirmation of his true selfish motives that he cares more about politics than justice even when it has to do with his tribesman. Peter Obi failed Nnamdi Kanu when it mattered most.... |
