Christians do not worship the same god muslims worship. Just because muhamad plagiarised from the Bible doesn't mean we share the same beliefs

BAILMONEY:
Fasting is a practice commanded by God for all believers, including Jews and Christians, to purify the soul and grow spiritually. The idea that you're fasting for "Saudi Arabian's god" is a misunderstanding. In Islam, Muslims fast for Allah (God), not for any country or nation.

The fast during Ramadan is about obeying God's command to grow closer to Him, not worshipping a specific place. Jews and Christians also fast, but each for their own beliefs. So, fasting is about submitting to the One God, not a particular country's god.

Oba Kadir Adebara of Jebba: Kwara Oba Who Refused To Bow To The Emir

Oba Kadir Adebara of Jebba has not received a kobo as salary from the Kwara State Government since 2003.

His crime? Refusing to pay homage to a Fulani emir in Ilorin and insisting he is a Yoruba Oba, not an emir.

Jebba was once part of the Old Oyo Empire. Today, its traditional ruler remains defiant but abandoned.

Many now call on the Alaafin to visit and restore the dignity of a Yoruba throne the system tried to silence

PoliticsTinubu Presidency Spends N1.5billion On Flight Tickets In One Day, Records Show by TruthHurts1(op): 12:04pm On Feb 02
A review of Nigeria’s public payments portal, Govspend, reveals that the Presidency under President Bola Tinubu spent approximately N1.5 billion on air tickets in a single day.

An examination by SaharaReporters showed that on December 24, multiple payments for the same purpose were made through the State House sub-accounts and to private travel agencies.

The data show that on December 24, a sum of N237 million was paid into the State House sub-account for the purchase of air tickets. On the same day, another N134.4 million was also paid into the same account for air ticket purchases.

Further scrutiny of the records indicates that the Presidency also made payments directly to travel agencies on that day. A sum of N226 million was paid to Overland Travels and Tours Limited for the purchase of air tickets on December 24.

In addition, the Govspend portal shows that N239 million was again paid into the State House sub-account on the same day for air ticket purchases.

This was followed by another payment of N346 million into the same account, also listed as expenditure for air tickets.

The pattern of spending continued with more payments to travel firms. On December 24, a sum of N153.5 million was paid into the account of Overland Travels and Tours for the purchase of air tickets.

On the same day, N96.8 million was paid to Travel Options Limited for the same purpose.

Records further show that an additional N136.5 million was paid to Overland Travels and Tours Limited on December 24, again for the purchase of air tickets.

When all the payments listed for that day are combined, the total amount spent by the Presidency on air ticket purchases comes to approximately N1.5 billion in a single day.

The payments, as reflected on Govspend, were processed through both the State House sub-accounts and private travel agencies, with several transactions carrying similar descriptions and purposes.

The revelation comes amid growing public scrutiny of government spending, particularly on recurrent expenditures, at a time when many Nigerians are grappling with rising living costs and economic hardship.

The Govspend portal was created to promote transparency in public finance by allowing citizens to track how government funds are spent.

However, the scale and frequency of the payments recorded on December 24 have raised questions about the cost of official travel and the management of public resources within the Presidency.

Earlier, a SaharaReporters review of the 2026 Nigerian budget showed that a sum of N6.1 billion was planned to be spent by President Tinubu on international travels in the fiscal year.

The amount is listed in the budget breakdown under State House operations – President.

According to the breakdown, the President also plans to spend N873 million on local travels during the fiscal year.

Vice President Kashim Shettima is expected to spend N1.3 billion on foreign trips in the 2026 fiscal year.

In total, President Tinubu and his Vice, Shettima, plan to spend N7.4 billion on foreign trips in 2026.

A review of Nigeria’s 2026 budget documents shows that the government plans to spend a total of N6 billion on overhauling aircraft engines in the Presidential fleet.

Details indicate that the overhaul of the 5N-FGW engines alone is expected to cost N3.859 billion. The 5N-FGW refers to a specific Gulfstream G550 business jet (Serial Number 5310) used by the Nigerian Air Force as part of the Presidential Air Fleet.

An additional N2.19 billion has been budgeted for the overhaul of two Falcon 7X engines, bringing the total planned expenditure on engine overhauls to N6 billion.

The budget also allocates N1.2 billion for aircraft maintenance and N1.5 billion for fuelling the Presidential fleet. Furthermore, repairs to the air navigation system are projected to cost another N6 billion.

These figures have fuelled concerns over the costs of President Tinubu’s travels, which critics say have already consumed several billions of naira in public funds.

Foreign AffairsRe: Taliban Legalises Slavery In New Penal Code;Creates Immunity For Islamic Clerics by TruthHurts1(m):
So by your logic, codifying inequality under the law is a good thing?

Also, I don't know why you people love dishonesty so much. The Robert Morris case you mentioned has nothing to do with reduced criminal liability because he is a Christian clergy man. He was sentenced to 10 years, but he only served 6 months because his conviction was obtained via a plea bargain where he had to stand up in court and declare that he was guilty of the crime.

The only reason why the prosecution agreed to the plea bargain was that the crime took place many years before the victim reported it and it was extremely difficult to gather enough evidence to convict him for the full 10 year sentence.

Having him confess in open court was important because it meant that he would now be a registered sex offender for the rest of his life and he was also made to pay restitution to the victim.

America doesn't reserve special treatment for Christian clergy men who break the law.

In fact one of the longest prison sentences on record in American history was against a pastor who molested children.

Namaster:
This is the reality EVERYWHERE in the world.
The Taliban were just FOOLISH enough to codify it into their laws.

EVERYBODY knows that people get punished DIFFERENTLY for the same crime based on their status, wealth and, in some countries, RACE.

For instance, Robert Morris an American MegaChurch Pastor was recently CONVICTED of raping a MINOR and his punishment was JUST 6 months in jail. Most likely, soft white collar jail too.

If a poor man or black commits the same crime, his punishment would be FAR GREATER than that.

So before ANYBODY castigates the Taliban, let them address their own country's LOPSIDED INjustice system.

The new Penal Code has also made dancing a criminal offence:

The code also significantly expands the use of corporal punishment, including flogging, and introduces vaguely defined offences such as "dancing" or being present in "gatherings of corruption", giving judges sweeping discretion to detain and punish people for ordinary cultural or social activities.

Patrick Dorgu Suffers Major Injury Blow as Man Utd Star Ruled Out for Months

Manchester United have been dealt a major injury blow as Patrick Dorgu is set to be ruled out for months.

Man United have secured back-to-back wins under Michael Carrick following their big win over Arsenal last Sunday.

Carrick's team beat Mikel Arteta's side 3-2 at the Emirates, with Matheus Cunha scoring the game's winner three minutes from time.

Dorgu, who has starred higher up the field, had put the visitors ahead just five minutes after the break following his stunning long-range strike.

But he was forced off after sustaining an injury while chasing a long ball in the second-half.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Carrick called it 'a little bit of cramp'.

Two days removed from Man United's famous win over Arsenal, a report from The Athletic claims Dorgu is set to miss around 10 weeks with a hamstring injury.

Carrick has played Dorgu from the start in both of his games in charge.

The Dane, 21, has been deployed as a left winger in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

He scored in Man United's 2-0 victory over Manchester City earlier this month and bagged a goal against Arsenal.

Dorgu joins Matthijs de Ligt on the sidelines, with the Dutch centre-back missing the last 11 games with a back issue sustained last month.

Dorgu is set to miss up to eight league fixtures following his hamstring injury, including big clashes against Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

Not to mention trips to West Ham United and Everton.

Carrick will be hoping to have Dorgu back and available for their league fixture against Leeds United on April 11.

This season, Dorgu has made 22 appearances in the league, scoring three goals and recording three assists.

EducationRe: 1972 Article Where South West Students Opposed Quota System In Admissions by TruthHurts1(m):
Wow! So Yorubas used to be at the forefront of championing meritocracy in Nigeria?

Judging by the timeline, many of those students would be the ones running Nigeria today, but instead of promoting meritocracy, they are tolerating it and some of them are even celebrating it while it destroys meaningful progress in Nigeria.

Edit: Like many of you, it came as a surprise that Igbo students would have voted in support of quota system.

Then I sat back and reflected and I realised a possible reason why the Igbo students supported quota systems was because of the large loss of young Igbo lives during the Nigerian Civil War. Remember that this took place in 1970 which is the same year that the Nigerian Civil War came to an end.

Igbo students may have felt that the quota system would save them from being numerically disadvantaged in student admissions because so many young Igbos lost their lives in the war.

SportsFinance Ministry Confirms Release Of Super Eagles’ Bonuses For AFCON by TruthHurts1(op): 6:00am On Jan 09
The Federal Government has said all group-stage bonuses due to Super Eagles players at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations have been released and are expected to reflect in the players’ domiciliary accounts within hours.

The Minister of State for Finance, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite, disclosed this on Thursday while responding to reports that the national team was considering boycotting training sessions and could decline to travel to Marrakesh for their quarter-final clash against Algeria.

In a post on her official X handle, Uzoka-Anite said the concerns over unpaid bonuses had been resolved through coordinated action by the Federal Government and the Central Bank of Nigeria.

“The Federal Government and the Central Bank of Nigeria have successfully streamlined to ensure faster, more predictable disbursements aligned with international best practice,” she said.

She explained that all bonuses earned by the players during the group stage of the tournament had been fully processed and cleared through the required regulatory procedures.

“All group-stage bonuses were fully released and have now cleared the necessary regulatory stages,” the minister stated.

Uzoka-Anite added that a fast-track process was introduced to meet the players’ preferences for payment in foreign currency. “We have implemented a fast-track conversion process to move funds into foreign currency, honouring the players’ preferences,” she said.

According to her, the final stage of the payment process is already underway, with transfers to the players’ domiciliary accounts currently in progress. “The final transfers to domiciliary accounts are currently in flight. Players can expect these funds to reflect starting today (Thursday) or tomorrow (Friday),” she added.

The minister stressed that the government remains focused on the welfare and morale of the team as they advance into the knockout phase of the competition. “Our focus remains entirely on supporting the team’s welfare so they can maintain their incredible momentum in the knockout rounds,” she said.

Uzoka-Anite also assured that the administration was committed to ensuring that off-field issues do not distract the players from their performance at the tournament. “We move forward with one goal: Bringing the trophy home!” she said.

The update is expected to ease concerns around the team’s preparations ahead of their quarter-final fixture as the Super Eagles continue their campaign at AFCON 2025.

SportsRe: Anthony Joshua Set To Retire From Boxing After Fatal Crash, Says Family by TruthHurts1(op): 11:37am On Jan 07
Nigeria truly happened to Anthony Joshua.

At the age of 18 in the year 2000, Kaka the Brazilian midfielder suffered a spinal fracture in a swimming pool accident that nearly paralyzed him. He made a full recovery, went on to win the 2002 World Cup, and later received the Ballon d'Or in 2007.

There are literally many examples from Formula 1 of drivers surviving high speed, high impact collisions and they still go on to have thriving careers and live normal lives.

In more advanced countries, athletes survive car crashes.

In Nigeria accidents end your career.
SportsAnthony Joshua Set To Retire From Boxing After Fatal Crash, Says Family by TruthHurts1(op): 11:27am On Jan 07
Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is considering retirement from boxing following a tragic car accident in Nigeria that claimed the lives of two of his close friends and team members.

Joshua’s uncle, Adedamola Joshua, stated this, adding that the 36-year-old boxer communicated his decision privately to family members in the aftermath of the fatal crash, which occurred last week.

The major thing there is that he has retired from boxing. That is one thing that makes us glad because each time he’s fighting in the ring, we are always carried away emotionally,” Adedamola told PUNCH during a visit to the family home in Sagamu on Monday morning.

When asked if Joshua had clearly informed the family of his decision to quit boxing, his uncle responded, “Yes.”

The accident resulted in the deaths of two of Joshua’s close associates, Sina Ghami and Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele.

Family sources said the boxer has also committed himself to providing lifelong support to the families of the deceased.

Joshua attended an emotional funeral service for the two men at the London Central Mosque on Sunday.

The coffins were placed side by side as the Janaza, the Islamic funeral prayer, was conducted.

Hundreds of mourners gathered outside the mosque before the coffins were taken to a nearby crematorium, with a wake held later in the afternoon.

Reacting to the incident, a Sagamu indigene, Adeniji Taiwo, expressed gratitude that Joshua survived the crash while mourning the loss of the two men.

"We thank God we didn’t lose our son, and for those who lost their children, God will help us to comfort them,” Taiwo said.

“I believe the fear will be there for him not to come back home, but I will advise him to come back home because he can’t leave his father’s place. This is his home."

“We feel bad that happened to our son, who was already almost home when he had the accident, but we thank God, and we pray nothing like that will happen to him again. There is nothing that can’t happen anywhere. God will continue to be with him, and all of us; no one in Remo wishes him evil, he is our glory.”

"There are a lot of things we have heard, but this is a Christian family, and everything we take with faith,” he added.

“Once something like that happens, emotionally, you can say anything, but as time goes on, you know this is (always) your root.”

The traffic accident involved world-renowned boxer, Anthony Joshua, which occurred on Monday, December 29, 2025, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.

The Ogun State Police Command had in a statement signed by DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, Police Public Relations Officer, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, Eleweran, Abeokuta, last week Monday confirmed the development.

The accident, which happened at about 11:00 am in Makun, near the Sagamu Interchange on the Ibadan-bound axis, claimed the lives of two passengers, while the boxer sustained minor injuries.

Confirming the incident, the Ogun State Police Command said, "The Ogun State Police Command confirms that world-renowned boxer, Anthony Joshua, was involved in a road traffic accident today, Monday, December 29, 2025, at about 11:00 am, in Makun, Ogun State. The incident occurred along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, just before Danco Filling Station, near the Sagamu Interchange on the Ibadan-bound axis."

The police disclosed that the accident involved a Lexus SUV conveying the boxer and other occupants, adding that the circumstances surrounding the crash are now under investigation. According to the statement, "The vehicle conveying Anthony Joshua, a Lexus SUV, was involved in the accident under circumstances that are currently being investigated. He was seated in the rear of the vehicle, sustained minor injurie."

He was also said to have been receiving medical attention."

While Anthony Joshua survived the crash, the police confirmed that two other passengers died at the scene. The command stated, "Tragically, two other passengers in the vehicle lost their lives at the scene.

Anthony Joshua's driver has been tried in court after he was accused of reckless driving, although he denied any wrongdoing and blamed brake failure for the incident.

CrimePolice Arrest Romance Scam Suspect Involved In ₦1 Billion Fraud At Lagos Airport by TruthHurts1(op): 8:16am On Jan 07
The Airport Police Command in Lagos has arrested a 20-year-old suspect involved in a romance and celebrity fraud that allegedly defrauded victims in the United States of over N1 billion.

The disclosure was contained in a statement issued by ASP Mohammed Adeola, Police Public Relations Officer, Airport Police Command, Lagos, on Tuesday, 6th January 2026.

The suspect, identified as Essien Emmanuel Akpama, was apprehended while attempting to board a flight out of Lagos State.

What the Police is saying

According to the statement, the arrest followed months of intelligence-led surveillance and monitoring based on credible information.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Akpama, who previously resided in Calabar, relocated to Lagos on 23rd February 2024, from where he allegedly coordinated and executed several fraudulent schemes.

“The Nigeria Police Force, Airport Police Command, in its sustained efforts to combat transnational crimes and prevent the use of Nigerian airports as escape routes for criminal elements, has arrested a notorious celebrity scam and romance fraud suspect responsible for defrauding multiple victims in the United States of America of over N1,000,000,000 (one billion naira), which on conversion amounts to over one million United States dollars.

“The suspect, Essien Emmanuel Akpama, male, aged 20, was arrested on 5th January, 2026, by operatives of the Anti-Fraud Unit of the Airport Police Command while attempting to board a flight out of Lagos State,” the statement read in part.

The case has been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force Special Fraud Unit (NPF-SFU) for further investigation, and the suspect will be arraigned in court upon completion of the investigations.

Details of the alleged scams and recovered items

The statement noted that in one highlighted case, Akpama reportedly deceived a 47-year-old female victim in the U.S. into transferring one million U.S. dollars under the pretext of purchasing property in Florida for an orphanage, using a cryptocurrency scheme called “BullRun 2.0,” formerly “4 Way Mirror Money.”

In another instance, he allegedly defrauded a 70-year-old U.S. victim of N25,709,400 (about $18,000) through purchases of gift cards, high-end mobile devices, and computer equipment, which were shipped to Nigeria at his direction.

Items recovered in connection with the case include a MacBook Pro 14-inch, an iPhone 17 Pro Max, and three Google Pixel devices, collectively valued at N8,141,367.

Investigators noted that the suspect posed as a 60-year-old orthopedic surgeon working with the United Nations in Nigeria, claiming the devices were necessary for secure communications with his victims.

The Commissioner of Police, Airport Police Command, CP Ogunbode Olufunke, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to preventing criminal elements from exploiting airport corridors to evade justice. She emphasized that intelligence-driven operations would continue to detect, disrupt, and dismantle criminal networks operating within Nigeria’s aviation ecosystem.

What you should know

The arrest of Essien Emmanuel Akpama follows intensified efforts by authorities at airports over the past few months to combat transnational crimes and prevent the use of airport corridors to evade justice.

In December 2025, Nigerian Customs intercepted undeclared foreign currencies worth about N2.28 billion from an Austrian national at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) as he attempted to board a Dubai-bound flight.

Other notable seizures over the past months include $420,900, £5,825, and millions in CFA francs at Kano Airport in July 2025; $49,000 undeclared from a Dubai-bound passenger at MMIA; and $578,000 recovered last year from another traveller.

These intelligence-driven operations continue to detect, disrupt, and dismantle criminal networks operating within and around Nigeria’s aviation ecosystem.

Kwara Woman Claims Her House Was Burnt Down Because She's A Traditional Worshipp

OFFICIAL PUBLIC NOTICE / INCIDENT REPORT

This report is made on behalf of a Nigerian woman, a lawful property owner and practitioner of traditional religion (ONÍṢẸ̀ṢẸ).

She legally built a house in Ilorin, Kwara State, which is her constitutional right as a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

From the beginning of her presence in this Ilorin Muslim community, some individuals openly stated that they did not want an ONÍṢẸ̀ṢẸ practitioner living among them. She was repeatedly threatened and intimidated solely because of her religious practice.

Due to these threats, she reported the matter to the nearest police station in Ilorin. The police summoned the individuals involved and warned them that she has a legal right to live and build a house in any community of her choice in Nigeria.

Despite this police warning, the threats escalated.

She was directly told:

“Since your house is what is keeping you here in our midst, if you refuse to stop your traditional religion practice, get ready to see your house set ablaze.”

She initially considered this an empty threat.
However, on January 1st 2026, while she was away attending the Osun Festival at her other residence, a neighbor urgently called to inform her that her house in Ilorin was on fire.

The house was later confirmed to have been burnt, validating the earlier threats.
This was not an accident.
This was arson following explicit religious threats.
This report is shared:
• For public record
• For her safety
• For accountability
• To notify authorities, media, and human-rights organizations

Nigeria belongs to all Nigerians. No woman should be threatened, attacked, or displaced because of her religion or belief.
Justice will be pursued.

Foreign AffairsRe: Saudi Arabia Bombs UAE Ship Carrying Weapons To Yemeni Rebels by TruthHurts1(m): 12:07pm On Dec 30, 2025
The situation in Yemen is essentially like this:

Before 1990, there were two countries called Yemen:

1. The Yemen Arab Republic (YAR), also called North Yemen, which had its capital at Sana'a.

2. The People's Democratic Republic of Yemen (PDRY), also called South Yemen, with its capital at Aden.

These two states officially unified to form the current Republic of Yemen on May 22, 1990.

A separatist group called the Southern Transitional Council (STC) was created in Yemen on May 11, 2017 because the people of Southern Yemen no longer wish to be in a united Yemen and they want to go back to the independent status they enjoyed before the United Republic of Yemen was created in 1990.

To further complicate matters, you have a religious dimension with the Houthi Rebels who are Shiites.

Most Yemenis are Sunni Muslims, however there is a significant Shiite minority population led by the Houthis who are backed by Iran which is the largest and most powerful Shiite country in the world.

The Houthis are essentially fighting a Holy War against Sunni Muslims in Yemen in order to impose Shiite Islam on them, something which the Saudis who are staunch Sunnis have vowed will never happen.

So Saudi Arabia is essentially fighting on 4 opposing fronts:

They're fighting against the STC separatists;

They're fighting against the UAE who are backing the STC separatists;

They're fighting against the Houthi Shiite Rebels; and

They're engaged in a cold war with Iran who is backing the Houthi rebels.

Iran will probably want to drag its other regional puppet, Hezbolla into the conflict and things could get very messy, very quickly.

2026 is shaping up to be a frightening year for the Middle East with the way things are going.

The crash was caused by them speeding which lead to the tire giving out and them spiralling towards a stationary truck if you've driven on a Nigerian road you've seen the trucks parked on the side not to far from the road.

Unfortunately i don't think Anthony Joshua will ever be able to fight again, obviously the poor medical response after the incident is due to poor infrastructure but the crash itself happened to negligence from him and his buddies.

Now pause.

Nigeria’s GDP: $400+ BILLION
Lebanon’s GDP: $20 BILLION

Nigeria’s economy is OVER 20 TIMES larger than Lebanon’s.

Yet in Nigeria:
• Lebanese are called “expatriates”
• Paid in dollars
• Treated with dignity
• Protected by policy

While Nigerians:
• Are paid peanuts
• Treated as expendable
• Harassed in their own country
• Devalued everywhere including at home

How does a citizen of a $20bn economy command more respect in Nigeria
than a citizen of a $400bn economy?

Why is a foreigner an expatriate, but a Nigerian abroad is just an immigrant?

This is not poverty.
This is policy failure, mindset slavery, and leadership collapse.

A country that does not defend the dignity of its people will always be exploited no matter how big its GDP is.

How did we normalize this hierarchy where Nigerians are always at the bottom even at home?

Nigeria, when did we agree to this?

This must stop.

CrimeNigerian, 4 Pakistanis Charged In US For ‘$41m Insider Trading, Market Manipulat by TruthHurts1(op): 2:02pm On Dec 22, 2025
Six individuals, including a Nigerian, have been charged by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for alleged involvement in “insider trading and market manipulation on a massive scale”.

The individuals were identified as Izunna Okonkwo, a Nigerian; and four Pakistanis — Muhammad Saad Shoukat, Muhammad Arham Shoukat, Muhammad Shahwaiz Shoukat, and Daniyal Khan.

Gyunho Justin Kim was charged in a separate complaint.

In a statement published on the website of the US department of justice, the FBI said the suspects participated in “a years-long scheme to trade securities based on material non-public information (MNPI)”.

The FBI said the suspects were charged to court in a case that stemmed from “three overlapping securities fraud schemes that occurred at various points from June 2020 through February 2024”.

The FBI said Kim worked at an investment bank that was involved in multiple mergers and acquisitions of publicly traded healthcare and biopharmaceutical companies, adding that he allegedly obtained MNPI about many pending deals.

Kim was said to have illegally shared the MNPI with Muhammad Saad Shoukat, who traded with the information, and shared same with others.

“Saad Shoukat also tipped off others — including Arham Shoukat, Shahwaiz Shoukat, Khan, and Okonkwo — who similarly traded and profited from the MNPI,” the FBI said.

“Overall, Saad Shoukat and his co-conspirators received illicit profits from the insider trading scheme totalling at least $41 million.

“Saad Shoukat, Arham Shoukat, and others actively manipulated the stock price of Olema, a publicly traded company. Olema focused on developing breast cancer treatment through a drug called OP-1250.

“From the spring of 2021, Saad Shoukat and Arham Shoukat began investing in Olema stock and encouraged others to invest in it.

“After buying substantial stock in Olema, Saad Shoukat, Arham Shoukat, and others accessed confidential information showing that OP-1250 was less effective than Saad Shoukat and Arham Shoukat had hoped.

“Saad Shoukat, Arham Shoukat, and others then falsified the OP-1250 data the co-conspirators had illegally accessed, and publicly disseminated it in a manner that made it look like the data was real and came from Olema.

“The release of the false data — which inflated the drug’s efficacy — temporarily caused Olema’s stock price to increase, during which Saad Shoukat, Arham Shoukat, and others profited and avoided losses by selling large numbers of shares in Olema stock.

“Saad Shoukat, his brothers, and others also manipulated the stock price of Opiant, another publicly traded company. Opiant was developing an opioid overdose treatment.

“Kim provided MNPI to Saad Shoukat about a company seeking to acquire Opiant. Based on that MNPI, Saad Shoukat and others bought Opiant stock. But that potential acquisition stalled, and Saad Shoukat and others were stuck with their stock purchases.

“In response, in or around April 2022, Saad Shoukat, his brothers, and others — using a fake Opiant website and fake Opiant email addresses that appeared legitimate — caused the publication of a fake press release announcing a purported merger and acquisition involving Opiant and another company.

“The fake press release drove up Opiant’s stock approximately 29%. Saad Shoukat, his brothers, and others profited by selling off shares during that spike, causing substantial losses to victim investors.”

If convicted, the suspects risk more than 20 years imprisonment.
