InvestmentInvestors Lost N316bn To Ponzi Schemes In Nigeria – SEC Reveals by TruthHurts1(op): 8:08pm On Oct 30, 2025
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has revealed that Nigerians have lost approximately ₦316 billion to Ponzi schemes and illegal fund managers over the years, warning that greed and ignorance continue to fuel the problem.

The Head of FinTech and Innovation Department at the Commission, AbdulRasheed Dan-Abu, disclosed this while presenting a paper on combating investment fraud at a journalist academy, a training organised by the commission for finance journalists, in Abuja.

He described Ponzi schemes as fraudulent investment operations that pay returns to old investors from money collected from new entrants rather than from any genuine business activity.

“These schemes are not really doing anything. They are just collecting people’s money and using it to pay the initial investors. At some point, when there are no new investors, the whole thing crashes and the operators disappear,” he said.

According to him, the desire for instant wealth has made many Nigerians fall victim.

“Everybody just wants to get rich today. That is actually what makes people fall into this trap. Even the people who are greedy now are more educated than those who experienced Charles Ponzi’s first scheme. Education has not stopped greed”, he noted.

Dan-Abu recalled how notorious schemes such as MMM Nigeria lured thousands with promises of 30 per cent monthly returns. He said some victims even reinvested after the collapse.

“Even after MMM shut down, they came back and told people that if you pay a certain amount, you will get access to your lost money. People still paid. That shows you how greed blinds people,” he said.

He also recounted how a fraudulent scheme called New Nation, Women in Oil, disguised itself as a government-endorsed empowerment programme and trapped 155,000 rural women.

“Many sold their houses and cars to invest because they believed it was real. It tells you how dangerous this thing is when people do not ask questions,” he said.

The SEC presentation showed that investors lost N100m each in Cow Lane and Durrell Nigeria Ltd, N235m in Now-Now Alert, N400m each in G-Circle Investment and Box Value Trading, and N900m in Yuan Dong.

Dantata Success and Prof Coy accounted for between N1.2bn and N2bn, Famzi Intbiz swallowed N2.5bn, while Bara Finance cost N3.5bn.

Galaxy Construction and Transportation took over N7bn, and MMM Nigeria wiped away N18bn.

Nospecto Oil and Gas and other so-called wonder banks consumed N106.9bn, while the single biggest case still under investigation is put at more than N174bn.

Altogether, the total losses were estimated at between N315.24bn and N316.04bn based on a thorough analysis by PUNCH Online of the data contained in the presentation document.

However, PUNCH Online observed that the list of Ponzi schemes excluded Crypto Bridge Exchange, popularly known as CBEX, a digital investment platform that allegedly fleeced Nigerians of over N1.3tn.

Dan-Abu stressed that many of the operators exploit aggressive marketing on social media platforms, forming WhatsApp groups and luring unsuspecting investors with promises that look too good to be true.

“They promise high returns with little or no risk. But there is no business in the world where you can make a lot of money in a short time without risk. It is not possible,” he said.

He urged investors to always check with the Commission before committing funds.

“Anytime you see an investment that looks new, the first thing you should do is ask if it is registered with the SEC. It is your sweat, your hard-earned money. If it is not registered, it is already illegal,” he warned.

Dan-Abu also appealed to journalists to support the campaign against Ponzi schemes.

“The press can really help us. If you write about this once a week, you could save thousands of people. Tomorrow, it might be your son, your cousin or your neighbour. It is not about foolishness; it depends on who the victim spoke to and what he believed,” he said.
He concluded that only vigilance and collaboration can stop the scourge.

In his remarks, the Director-General of the Commission, Dr Emomotimi Agama, said Nigeria cannot afford to lag in regulating digital assets, insisting that robust oversight is critical to protect investors and build trust in the financial system.

Represented by the SEC’s Head of External Relations, Efe Ebelo, the commission’s DG said digital assets were no longer a fringe experiment but had become “a structural pillar of modern finance” that demanded the same level of transparency, accountability and investor protection as traditional markets.

“Regulation is not about restriction; it is about building trust, ensuring that innovation serves progress and not predation,” Agama said.

He noted that Nigeria ranked among the world’s top adopters of digital assets, with more than a third of the population involved in crypto-related activity, but warned that the rapid growth had also created fertile ground for scams, phishing attacks and fake wallet applications.

According to him, the SEC’s 2022 rules on digital assets set out a framework for virtual asset service providers, anchored on licensing, compliance with anti-money laundering standards, and transparency in monitoring transactions.

He said the Commission was working with the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to freeze illicit wallets and recover criminal proceeds, while also deploying blockchain analytics tools to trace suspicious transactions.

“Worldwide, regulators face the same paradox. Clamp down too hard and innovation migrates offshore; regulate too softly and systemic risks multiply. Our duty is to strike the right balance,” he said.

Agama stressed that the future of finance was digital, but must remain ethical, transparent and trustworthy.

“In this new frontier of finance, trust is the ultimate currency and as regulators, our highest duty is to preserve it,” he added.

PoliticsBritish Cleaner Wins £43 Million Inheritance Case Against Boss's Son by TruthHurts1(op): 4:12pm On Oct 30, 2025
Multimillionaire's cleaner wins £43m inheritance battle against 'golden boy' son

The former cleaner of the late multimillionaire and “car boot king” Richard Scott has won a fight in court against his son over who stands to inherit his £43m fortune.

Larger than life tycoon and father-of-19 Richard married his former cleaner Jennifer Scott, 28 years his junior, in 2016 after the passing of his first wife.

He then wrote eldest and "favourite" son Adam Scott out of his will, denying him a share of the fortune he had made running the UK's second biggest boot fair from his "vast" Cheshire farm - where ITV's 'Car Boot Challenge' was filmed.

Jennifer was left to inherit his estate and farmland, which she said could now be worth up to £43m when Richard died aged 81 in 2018. However, earlier this year, Adam, 62, sued his step-mum, 60, as executor of his dad's estate, claiming his father was not in his right mind when he signed his two final wills.

Adam told how he had given up everything to commit to "a life of hard and unrelenting physical work" on his dad’s promise that one day the “golden boy” would inherit the farm after his death.

However, Jennifer’s lawyers argued Richard had known exactly what he was doing when he disinherited Adam after their relationship "completely broke down" when he tried to get his dad sectioned.

They also said he had no claim on the basis of alleged promises and pointed out that he had already been handed land and property worth more than £10m before Richard's death.

Today Mr Justice Richards ruled in favour of widow Jennifer following a trial in July, dismissing both strands of Adam's claim and leaving her in charge of the massive multimillion-pound estate.

He said that whilst he accepted Mr Scott had been suffering from a degenerative brain condition when he wrote former favourite Adam out of his wills in 2016, the decision had been “the product of a personality type that disliked being thwarted" rather than "one that involved his normal human instincts and affections being perverted by his mental disease".

He also said that although his dad had promised Adam the whole of his land, Adam had known that his dad intended to go back on his word since 2003, but had continued to work on the farm, and in any case had suffered no detriment.

During the trial, the court heard that "mercurial character" Richard was "a ruthless, single-minded and highly successful businessman who built up a valuable property empire" before switching to running giant and lucrative car boot sales.

He fathered 19 children, lawyers for Jennifer told the court, six with his first wife, plus six illegitimate children during that relationship, followed by another seven with Jennifer, who was working as his cleaner when the pair first got together in 1994.

Richard and Jennifer eventually married in 2016, just two years before his death in a controversial marriage disrupted by Adam trying to prevent the wedding going ahead, claiming his dad didn't have the mental capacity to marry.

"It is common ground that on 22 April 2016 Adam attended the registry office and alleged that Richard lacked capacity to marry," Alex Troup KC, for Jennifer, told Mr Justice Richards. "That led to Richard being interviewed by four registrars and a lawyer from the local council, all of whom were satisfied that he did have capacity to marry. The wedding therefore went ahead."

The court heard that at the time of his death from cancer, Richard owned "a huge quantity of land" around Chelford, Cheshire, which has been officially valued for probate at around £7m, but which Jennifer said was worth £43m based on offers she has received and development potential.

Adam's lawyers said he spent more than 40 years helping his dad run the "vast, sprawling" farm and managing the car boot sales he held on part of it, and had been in line to inherit it on the basis that he would pay the probate value of the land, with that cash then to be split amongst his many siblings.

But in 2016, just months after his second marriage, Richard signed the two wills which disinherited Adam, and left Jennifer in control of his wealth, as executor and a major beneficiary.

Jennifer's two sons, Gordon and William Redgrave-Scott, and Adam's sister Rebecca Horley were also made beneficiaries of the last wills.

Adam challenged the validity of the two final wills on the basis that his dad lacked mental capacity at the time they were made and also brought an alternative claim under the law of proprietary estoppel - a legal remedy that can be used when a landowner has promised property will be transferred to someone else at a later date, only to later go back on the promise.

Constance McDonnell KC, for Adam, told the judge: "At the heart of this case is a relationship between a father and a son, their shared devotion to the family farm in Cheshire, and a recognition by the father of his son’s willingness to commit to a life of hard and unrelenting physical work.”

Mr McDonnell said Adam should be granted his inheritance under the terms of a 1995 will which promised the land to him and said he was in no state to amend the will in 2016, with his dementia having “eroded his ability to make decisions and to have insight,” with Jennifer left “translating” his communications with others.

However Mr Troup said Richard had good reason to cut his son out of his will including a visit by police and medics to the farm to consider sectioning him in 2013, which was said to have been prompted by his son.

He continued: "In July 2015, Adam alleged to social services that Richard was beating Jennifer and the children," he continued.

"That led to an investigation by social services, which was eventually closed...Richard was angry with Adam for reporting him to social services and their relationship deteriorated as a result."

However Mr Justice Richards ruled that Richard’s decisions to change the will was made not as a result of dementia, “rather, they were the product of a personality type that disliked being thwarted and engaged in careful measurement of how much his family members 'deserved' by reference to whether they had sought to thwart him or not.”

He added: “his decision not to make any significant provision for Adam cannot be explained as one that involved his normal human instincts and affections being perverted by his mental disease."

PoliticsAfrica’s Richest, Aliko Dangote, Net Worth Hits $30.2 Billion In 2025 by TruthHurts1(op): 7:24am On Oct 24, 2025
Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has seen his net worth climb to $30.2 billion, according to the latest data tracked by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

The figure reflects an increase of $2.25 billion year-to-date (8%), supported by gains in his cement, oil, and fertilizer businesses. The Bloomberg data also shows that Dangote’s wealth rose by $89.2 million in the past 24 hours, cementing his position as the 75th richest person in the world.

Dangote’s fortune is tied primarily to his Lagos-based conglomerate, Dangote Industries Limited, which holds stakes in multiple listed and private companies across the industrial and consumer sectors.

The group owns Dangote Cement Plc, the largest cement producer in sub-Saharan Africa, and the Dangote Oil Refinery, Africa’s biggest oil refining complex, which began operations in early 2024 after more than a decade of development.

A breakdown of Dangote’s business assets
The Dangote Oil Refinery, valued at $20 billion, remains his most valuable asset. Dangote owns a 92.3% stake in the refinery, which has been key to the recent rise in his net worth.

The facility is designed to process up to 650,000 barrels of crude oil daily, with production ramping up gradually since its commissioning.

His 86% ownership in Dangote Cement Plc is another cornerstone of his fortune. The company, which dominates Nigeria’s cement market and operates plants across 10 African countries, continues to deliver strong earnings amid increased infrastructure development. Shares of Dangote Cement have appreciated steadily in 2025, boosting the market value of his holdings.

Beyond cement and oil, Dangote’s wealth is supported by his fertilizer plant with an annual capacity of 2.8 million tonnes of urea, valued using a net present value analysis assuming 50% utilization. He also holds significant stakes in Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc, NASCON Allied Industries Plc, and United Bank for Africa (UBA).

His other interests span agriculture, packaging, and food manufacturing, while his Lagos real estate portfolio, including six residential and commercial properties, is valued using rental capitalization data from CBRE Broll Nigeria.

What you should know

In a recent interview with S&P Global, Dangote announced plans to double the capacity of his Lagos refinery to 1.4 million barrels per day, which would make it the world’s largest refining facility, surpassing India’s Jamnagar Refinery. He revealed that the company is exploring new financing opportunities and partnerships with Middle Eastern investors to support the expansion.

Addressing claims of monopoly in Nigeria’s industrial sector, Dangote stated that profitability is essential to sustain large-scale investments, noting that “if we don’t make money, nobody will come into this business.” He emphasized the need for more local players with the capacity to compete at scale.

Dangote also disclosed that Dangote Cement pays 52% of its earnings as taxes, with the government earning more from taxation than shareholders do in dividends, underscoring the group’s significant contribution to Nigeria’s fiscal revenue.

Car TalkFRSC Set To Roll Out Digital Driver’s Licences In Nigeria by TruthHurts1(op): 5:37am On Oct 21, 2025
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is set to introduce contactless biometric capture with on-the-spot printing of driver’s licences, a move aimed at fully digitalising the licensing system and ending the issuance of temporary licences.

Corps Marshal Malam Shehu Mohammed disclosed this during a press briefing to launch the 2025 ember months public enlightenment and sensitisation campaign on Monday in Abuja, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He said the initiative would establish a one-stop digital process for obtaining driver’s licences nationwide, significantly reducing delays and addressing long-standing challenges in the national licensing system.

“We are about to commence the contactless biometric capture with on-spot printing of the licence.

“This will eliminate temporary licences, thereby signalling the beginning of a digitalised one-stop shop for processing driver’s licence.

“With this development, it is expected that delays and other challenges related to the national driver’s licence will be history,” Mohammed said.

The FRSC Corps Marshal said the initiative reflects the corps’ commitment to using technology to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.

More insights

Mohammed also disclosed that the FRSC has increased its daily driver’s licence production to 15,000 and aims to clear all outstanding licences by November 2025, following an upgrade of its printing facility designed to address the nationwide backlog of pending applications.

He explained that the move was part of efforts to tackle persistent delays in issuing driver’s licences and vehicle number plates across the country.

Mohammed added that the enhanced system would significantly reduce waiting times, improve data integrity, and speed up processing, reflecting the corps’ broader initiatives to modernise operations through advanced technology.

Of the 800,000 licences backlogged nationwide, 400,000 have already been printed, while 206,000 remain uncollected by applicants. He urged citizens to visit designated centres to claim their documents and ensure they benefit from improved service delivery.

What you should know

The new contactless biometric system builds on earlier efforts by the FRSC to modernise driver’s licence issuance.

In February 2025, the corps inaugurated a mini driver’s licence printing farm in Lagos State, capable of producing 9,000 licences in six hours. This facility was designed to streamline the licensing process, reduce long waiting times for residents awaiting licences from Abuja, and serve as a model for efficient, technology-driven operations.

The cost of obtaining a driver’s licence or vehicle number plate in Nigeria increased following the approval of a new price structure by the Joint Tax Board (JTB). The revised fees, which apply nationwide, took effect on Sunday, June 8, 2025.

The updated charges for driver’s licences are as follows:

Motor vehicle driver’s licence (3 years): N15,000
Motor vehicle driver’s licence (5 years): N21,000
Tricycle driver’s licence (3 years): N7,000
Tricycle driver’s licence (5 years): N11,000

Upward reviews of driver’s licence fees are not new. A similar adjustment in 2021 increased the three-year motor vehicle licence from N6,000 to N10,000 and the five-year licence from N10,000 to N15,000, while motorcycle and tricycle licences were also revised upward.

PoliticsBen Murray-bruce Joins APC by TruthHurts1(op): 10:17am On Oct 16, 2025
I have known President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu since 1998. I know the man’s mind, his courage, and his conviction. He is not driven by applause, he is driven by results. And today, I can boldly say to you that he is on the right track.

For the first time in our nation’s history, we have a President who truly understands finance, who sees the economy not as a political slogan, but as a living organism that must be disciplined, deregulated, and allowed to breathe.

The painful reforms we face today are the very foundation of tomorrow’s prosperity. We are moving into a free-market economy, one that rewards hard work and innovation instead of dependency and distortion.

Look around you: under this administration, the appointment of the National Security Adviser has redefined our national safety architecture. Insecurity is being quietly and systematically dismantled. The Central Bank, now professionally steered, is stabilizing the economy, rebuilding confidence, and restoring the dignity of the naira.

Our foreign policy is again respected. Our fuel supply is deregulated. We will never again live through the humiliation of fuel scarcity. The numbers are beginning to speak, investments are returning, and the world is watching Nigeria rise again.

And beyond economics, Bola Tinubu’s infrastructural drive is unprecedented; from massive road networks to modernized ports, airports and housing schemes springing up across the nation. These developments are not just concrete and steel; they are the arteries through which growth and opportunity now flow.

I know it is still a difficult season for many families. But as history teaches, reform is never painless. Yet, it is in these moments of sacrifice that nations are reborn.

That is why today, I am joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), not for politics, but for progress. Because I believe that Bola Tinubu’s leadership, guided by courage and intellect, will deliver the Nigeria we have all dreamed of.

Mark my words: in the full term of eight years, Nigeria will witness phenomenal growth. I choose to stand with that vision. I choose to stand with reform. I choose to stand with the future.

Thank you, and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

– Senator Ben Murray-Bruce.

Other times, when he’s not on a solo luxury trip, he’s touring the corridors of power or in an expensive political elite circle that includes former Goodluck Jonathan or current President Tinubu.

Born in 2001, barely 24, Osborn has already assumed the role of “Top 1” merely because his father found his way to politics and rose through the ranks to a level where he commanded state resources.

CrimeCop Dies As Soldiers, Bauchi Policemen Clash by TruthHurts1(op): 6:02am On Oct 12, 2025
A tragic clash between soldiers and operatives Nigeria Police Force in Bauchi State has led to the death of a police operative, Constable Ukasha Muhammed.

The Bauchi State Police Command confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Saturday by its spokesperson, SP Ahmed Wakil.

According to the statement, the confrontation occurred on October 10, 2025, in the Bayan Gari area of Bauchi metropolis.

Wakil explained that the command received a distress report concerning a serious altercation involving a patrol team led by Inspector Hussaini Samaila during a routine operation.

“The patrol team encountered an assault on one of its members, Constable Ukasha Muhammed (F/No 533164), by two individuals in front of Padimo Hotel. The remaining members of the team responded swiftly, resulting in the apprehension of one suspect while the other escaped,” the statement read.

The apprehended suspect was later identified as Private Usman Mubarak (23NA/84/5346), a soldier attached to the Joint Task Force, Operation Safe Haven, in Jos, Plateau State.

Angered by the arrest, two other soldiers, Private Yakubu Yahuza (23NA/85/10185) and Private Godspower Gabriel (23NA/84/5654), stormed the scene of the clash, armed and partially dressed in military uniforms.

Wakil said they walked towards the police team, shot Constable Ukasha Muhammed on his left chest and fled the vicinity.

The injured officer was immediately rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel. His remains had since been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary.

The police spokesperson added that the command has taken the detained soldiers into custody and launched a full-scale homicide investigation.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has constituted a team of seasoned homicide detectives to conduct a professional, diligent, and timely investigation aimed at ensuring that justice is served,” Wakil stated.

He also called for calm among officers and men of the command while urging restraint pending the outcome of the investigation.

The Commissioner of Police extended his condolences to the family of the deceased officer, praying for the repose of his soul.

“May his soul rest in peace, and may Aljannatul Firdausi be his final abode. May Almighty Allah grant his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” the statement concluded.

Look at it this way: Some countries are willing to put their international reputation on the line for its citizens. Even in the face of false and baseless accusations of genocide, they push ahead with the goal of rescuing their citizens who are being held in inhumane conditions and punishing the terrorist organisation which committed the greatest act of inhumanity the Jewish people have suffered since Nazi Germany.

Israel is very different from a particular country where kidnappers pose for selfies with military personnel while dressed in full camouflage regalia and brandishing AK 47s, before being allowed to stroll back into the bush with their weapons fully intact.

PoliticsFG, Borno Returned Trafficking Victims To Boko Haram Husbands, Traffickers – US by TruthHurts1(op): 4:13pm On Oct 01, 2025
Nigeria, Borno Govt Returned Trafficking Victims To Boko Haram Husbands, Traffickers –U.S. Report

A 2025 report on trafficking in persons in Nigeria, released by the U.S. Department of State, has made a shocking revelation that the Nigerian government and Borno State government returned several trafficked victims to their Boko Haram husbands, while some were returned to their traffickers.

According to the report, the Nigerian government did not meet the minimum standards in several key areas in its fight against trafficking in persons; hence, the most populous African country remains on Tier 2 classification.

The report said, “Efforts to identify and protect trafficking victims among vulnerable populations, especially women and children allegedly associated with non-state armed groups, IDPs, and children exploited in begging and domestic work, were inadequate.”

It further noted that due to insufficient screening efforts, the “federal and Borno State governments did not take effective measures to prevent the re-victimization or inappropriate penalization of potential victims solely for unlawful acts committed as a direct result of being trafficked, including among women and girls allegedly associated with Boko Haram.

In some cases, authorities detained or returned victims to their Boko Haram husbands and traffickers.”

The report also revealed that corruption involving trafficking crimes, including among law enforcement officials and the judiciary, remained a significant concern and contributed to impunity for human traffickers in Nigeria.

“The quantity and quality of shelter services, especially for men, were insufficient,” it said.

According to the report, “Corruption and official complicity in trafficking crimes, including among designated officials with responsibilities to combat human trafficking, remained significant concerns, inhibiting law enforcement action and perpetuating impunity for trafficking crimes.”

The report, which is the latest after the 2023 report, stated that the Nigerian government only initiated the prosecution of one Nigerian Immigration Services (NIS) official for sex trafficking crimes within the period under review.

“Prosecutions of one Civilian Joint Task Force member for alleged sex trafficking remained pending,” the report stated.

It further noted that during the previous reporting period (2023), NAPTIP sacked five staff members, including a deputy director, and demoted three staff members for complicity in trafficking crimes, including soliciting bribes and leaking confidential information to trafficking suspects; “however, the government did not report initiating any prosecutions of the officials.”

It also noted that observers reported that some law enforcement, “military, and other government officials committed trafficking crimes, accepted bribes to facilitate trafficking, or obstructed justice by interfering with investigations.”

According to the report, observers also reported that some security officers sexually abused and exploited internally displaced persons (IDPs), including children, in and around Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

The report added, “Endemic judicial corruption impeded prosecutions and convictions of most crimes, including human trafficking.”

It specifically stated, “The High Courts had jurisdiction over trafficking cases; however, in practice, cases were sometimes tried in state courts, which heard lower-level or misdemeanor crimes.

“Local judges did not have the same standardized training requirements as federal and state judges, which contributed to corruption and misapplication of the law.

“Illegal activities of non-state armed groups hindered law enforcement efforts, especially in northern Nigeria.”

PoliticsLagos APC To Jonathan: "Continue To Enjoy Your Retirement" by TruthHurts1(op): 10:44pm On Sep 30, 2025
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has advised former President Goodluck Jonathan to continue to enjoy his retirement and protect his good name.

Spokesman of the party, Mogaji Seye Oladejo gave the advice while reacting to the statement made by a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Professor Jerry Gana on the former President Jonathan contesting the 2027 presidential election.

Oladejo described Gana’s rhetoric as too soon, noting that elections are about ideas and performance, not just bringing back old leaders.

He said, “Prof. Gana cannot decide alone who will be the PDP candidate, adding that this shows the party still has problems with fairness and internal democracy.

“If Jonathan tries to run again, it will not be easy for him because of past records and other challenges. Nigerians should focus on real issues like food, electricity, transport, jobs, and security. President Bola Tinubu is already working on reforms to grow the economy and improve people’s lives.”

PoliticsICAN Investigates Alleged Exam Impersonation By Taraba Commissioner by TruthHurts1(op): 2:09pm On Sep 27, 2025
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria says it has commenced an investigation regarding a video currently circulating on social media alleging impersonation during one of its examinations.

ICAN, in a statement signed by its Registrar/Chief Executive, Lanre Olasunkanmi, said the move became necessary following a viral video showing suspected proxies caught impersonating candidates during an ICAN examination.

In the said video, a female proxy who was accused of writing the examination for a commissioner in Taraba State was interrogated.

A similar video showed a man being nabbed and was alleged to be writing the examination on behalf of a bank manager.

According to ICAN, it maintains a zero-tolerance policy for all forms of examination malpractice, including impersonation.

”The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has noted a video currently circulating on social media alleging impersonation during one of its examinations.

”As the foremost professional accountancy body in Nigeria, ICAN wishes to state unequivocally that it maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy for all forms of examination malpractice, including impersonation.

”The Institute’s examination processes are guided by globally accepted standards of integrity, and any attempt to compromise them is treated with utmost seriousness.

”In line with this commitment, ICAN has commenced a thorough investigation into the matter. Appropriate disciplinary measures will be applied in accordance with established regulations, and the findings will be communicated transparently to stakeholders.

”The Institute therefore urges the public to refrain from speculation or drawing conclusions based on unverified claims. ICAN remains firmly committed to safeguarding the credibility of its examinations and protecting the reputation of the accounting profession in Nigeria and beyond.”

Meanwhile, the Taraba State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economy, Sarah Adi, in a telephone interview, denied the claim that she sponsored the impersonator who wrote the ICAN examination in the viral video clip on social media.

The lady had claimed that she was writing the examination on behalf of the Finance Commissioner.

However, the Commissioner alleged that a powerful cartel wanted to tarnish her public image.

”It started with labour action in the state, where they mobilised people and asked that they protest against me for expunging alleged ghost workers, and unfortunately for them. I don’t know anything about their claims, and my boss, the governor, has confidence in me, never to disappoint him.

”Another scenario is that I had a billboard showcasing my solidarity with my boss, the governor was mutilated in Wukari, my hometown ”

“Do not be surprised to hear or see that I would be called out again, for another accusation, we are beginning to identify the unseen hands”, she said.

Family7 Out Of 10 Indian Wives Cheat On Husbands Out Of Boredom - Gleeden by TruthHurts1(op): 1:15pm On Sep 26, 2025
Extramarital dating app, Gleeden recently conducted a survey titled "Why do women commit adultery" and tried analysing the reasons why married women in India cheat on their husbands. One of the shocking findings of this research claim that seven out of 10 women cheat on their husbands because they do not contribute in household chores.

Here are all the other details of the study:

The app has over five hundred thousand subscribers in India and over five million users across the globe. Going by the statistics, seven out of 10 women step into an extramarital affair because their marriage has turned monotonous.

Interestingly, this research pointed that metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata had the maximum number of women who cheated on their husband because they were bored or were fed up with their husbands for not helping them in household chores.

This extramarital dating app came to India in 2017 and as per their claims, 30 per cent of its users are married females in the age group of 34-49 years.

Around 77 per cent of the married women confessed that they cheated on their partners because their marriage had become monotonous and having an extramarital affair helped them to add spice to their lives.

Among the 500,000 users, 20 per cent men and 13 per cent women accepted they were cheating on their partners. Also, around 48 per cent Indian women who decided to have an extramarital affair preferred to meet someone new on a dating app because the platform offers safety and privacy.

The research also talked about the increasing number of homosexual people who were forced into traditional marriages and are now finding their same-sex partners on the app.

The survey might have provided some compelling statistics but do these findings hold true for the entire Indian society. The sample size of this study is just 500,000 and represents only a fraction of India's population which is over 1.3 Billion.

Plus, the research is based only on their users but not on married women who are not on dating apps or don't have a smartphone.

GamingWoman Wins $150K Lottery Using Chatgpt— And Plans To Donate It To Charity by TruthHurts1(op): 3:32pm On Sep 25, 2025
In a remarkable story of generosity and gratitude, a woman who recently won the lottery has announced that she plans to donate every penny to charity.

Carrie Edwards, a resident of Midlothian, Virginia, matched four of the first five numbers plus the Powerball in the Sept. 8 Virginia Lottery drawing, leading to a sizable windfall.

While the initial prize was $50,000, Edwards had opted to pay an extra dollar for the Power Play option, which tripled her winnings to $150,000.

Edwards, who isn’t a frequent online lottery player, revealed that she used her phone’s ChatGPT app to pick her numbers. “I’m like, ChatGPT, talk to me… Do you have numbers for me?” she recalled during a press conference.

Two days later, Edwards was sitting in a meeting when a notification on her phone stopped her in her tracks: “Please collect your lottery winnings.”

At first, she thought it was a scam. “I thought, ‘I know I didn’t win,’” she said. But after verifying the news, she was in for a life-changing surprise.

When she first got the notification that she had won, she thought it was a scam.

“As soon as that divine windfall happened and came down upon my shoulders, I knew exactly what I needed to do with it. And I knew I needed to give it all away, because I’ve been so blessed, and I want this to be an example of how other people, when they’re blessed, can bless other people,” she said.

True to her word, Edwards has pledged to divide the full $150,000 among three causes close to her heart.

The first charity on her list is the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD), an organization that supports research into a disease that claimed the life of her late husband in 2024. Frontotemporal degeneration causes early-onset dementia and has left a profound impact on her life.

Edwards’ second donation will go to Shalom Farms, a regenerative farm based in Richmond that focuses on food justice and community-driven solutions to food insecurity. “It’s the greatest organization, because they understand that — when it comes down to it — we all are responsible for helping each other in this life and helping the community, and helping those who don’t have what we have. [It’s] something that they are focused on through their food justice and food equity program,” she said.

The final organization on her list is the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, which Edwards said is “very near and dear to her heart.” Her father, a fighter pilot, supported the society throughout his life, and she is continuing his legacy by donating to it.

As Edwards prepares to give away the money, she emphasized how blessed she felt to be in a position to help others. “Because it’s a windfall I didn’t expect, and it’s certainly going to help those in need,” she said.

Her story is a testament to the power of generosity, showing that even unexpected windfalls can be used for the greater good. While many may dream of a lottery win to change their own lives, Edwards is proving that sometimes, the most meaningful way to spend newfound wealth is by giving it away.

PoliticsAdamawa LG Chairmen’s Wives Attend Training In Turkey Amid Unpaid Pensions by TruthHurts1(op): 12:10pm On Sep 25, 2025
Twenty-one wives of Local Government (LG) Chairmen from Adamawa State have traveled to Istanbul, Turkey, for a week-long leadership training program aimed at equipping them to “assist and advise” their husbands in their roles as LG chairmen.

The trip, which began last week, has sparked widespread criticism due to unpaid salaries and pensions for LG workers and retirees in the state.

According to reports, the training, accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Local Government, focuses on governance strategies and leadership capacity building.

It is framed as part of empowerment initiatives following recent LG autonomy reforms. However, the move has been labeled “wasteful and insensitive” by unions and pensioners, who highlight the ongoing financial struggles of LG staff and retirees.

The story gained traction on social media between September 22-24, 2025, with thousands of posts condemning the trip as an example of reckless spending amid economic hardship.

Critics, including retirees, have questioned the necessity of foreign training for the chairmen’s wives, noting that even the state governor’s wife has not undertaken similar programs.

One anonymous LG chairman from northern Adamawa distanced himself from the decision, while calls for anti-corruption probes into the funding—suspected to come from LG budgets—grow louder.

No official statement from the Adamawa State Government or the LG Association has refuted the reports.

I believe the truth is more complicated than that. The Epstein Files were discovered in 2021 when Biden was in office. If there was any evidence of Trump being involved, why would the Democrats sit tight on it for 4 years, when releasing it would be the easiest way to discredit Trump in the eyes of his right wing supporters?

Like I said, it's complicated because I think it is more likely that Trump is covering for some persons, possibly persons who are his backers and financiers.

dominique:
That's why he's doing everything within his power to stop the Epstein files from being released. Some of the girls sexually exploited on that island are as young as 14. The most vocal of all the victims got mysteriously hit by a bus this year and died.
Foreign AffairsRe: Elon Musk’s Father, Errol, Accused Of Sexually Abusing Five Children, Stepchildr by TruthHurts1(m): 1:36pm On Sep 24, 2025
Actually not true. In countries like Afghanistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia etc, the age of consent for girls is 9 years old and there are millions of marriages between older men and under age girls.

The same is also true for Northern Nigeria which is why FGM and fistula has been a perennial problem in these places.

The only difference between the so call white men and the middle Easterners is that in the middle east they have legalised their perversions and made it culturally and religiously accepted in their societies.

dominique:
Caucasian men are the biggest perverts in the world. In fact, the first sets of mulattoes resulted from the rape of little slave girls by white men, girls as young as 12. When it comes to child abuse, child molest, child pörn, Na them get am. Stats show that over 75% of men convicted for child sexual abuse are them but you won't see the likes of Charlie Kirk saying anything about this.
