Harry Maguire's price had more to do with the fact that Leicester City considered selling him to Manchester United would mean selling him to a top 4 rival.

just imagine, a 28 year old la liga winner, ucl winner n even a world cup winner going to man.u for just £41m because he ia French..
BT this same man.u bought maguire dt just won d EPL with Leicester for £80m because he Is British

A Muslim who became the first French man to marry his same sex partner in an Islamic religious ceremony has said that if the prophet Muhammad were alive today he would be happy to marry same sex couples.

Ludovic-Mohamed Zahed was born in Algeria in 1977 and moved to Paris as a child.

He told The Local about his difficult upbringing in a religious family.

“I was an effeminate child and that is not seen as a good thing in men so I had to make myself more masculine,” he said.

“At first my father thought it was an illness, then he thought it was just a phase.”

He suffered physical as well as verbal abuse.

“My brother often beat me up, so it was quite violent and complicated.”

His experiences forced him to question his identity and his religion.

In his new book, The Koran and The Flesh (Le Coran et la Chair), Zahed recounts in detail the story of growing up as a gay Muslim.

“It started as a personal diary,” he said. “Eventually it grew to become a book.”

In the book he traces the journey that helped him reconcile his sexuality and his religious beliefs.

“At age 18, when I finally accepted being gay, I felt I had to choose between my sexuality and Islam. I didn’t understand at the time that there are different types of Islam.”

In his confusion he turned away from his faith for ten years.

“It was traumatising for me. I couldn’t really understand how homosexuality could be so violently rejected despite the fact I had done nothing wrong and was trying to live a good life.”

“Eventually, I realised there was a big hole in my life so I investigated buddhism, but discovered there are also buddhists who are homophobic.”

Zahed then decided to return to Islam and to explore its teachings in more depth.

His research led him to believe that homosexuality and Islam are compatible.

“There is nothing about homosexuality that ‘goes against nature’ according to one interpretation of Islam. Quite the opposite,” he argues in his book.

He says there are many associations supporting gay Muslims and that English-speaking countries tend to be more advanced.

Zahed is now completing a doctorate on the subject of Islam and homosexuality at Paris’ prestigious School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences.

During his studies Zahed found personal happiness when he met his partner.

Qiyaammudeen Jantjies-Zahed, also a Muslim, met Zahed at a conference in South Africa in 2011.

The couple decided to get married in South Africa, where same sex marriage is legal.

Back in France, where the couple now live, the marriage is not recognised as France has a ban on same sex marriages.

Zahed believes that some parts of the political class in France needs to catch up with French society on the issue.

“There have been MPs who have said that if we allow same sex marriage, why not marriage with animals or paedophilia,” he said. “The political class can be very conservative. Normal society evolves much more quickly than politicians.”

The couple had a religious ceremony in February to celebrate their marriage in the Parisian suburb of Sevres.

On the whole, they received positive responses to the event, although inevitably there were negative reactions as well.

His family is now fully supportive of him and his marriage.

“After a few years my mother told me they understood and that my sexuality was normal and a part of nature. They just wanted me to be happy and to meet someone.”

Zahed plans to continue his struggle to convince others that homosexuality and Islam are compatible.

He thinks that the prophet Muhammad, if he were alive today, would support same sex marriage.

“He defended men who were effeminate and who were not attracted to women. He banned any violence against them,” said Zahed.

“He was a believer in social justice and a revolutionary, like all prophets. Giving the same rights to homosexuals and opening marriage to everyone is a part of social justice.”
Politics / BREAKING: Another Nigerian Military Aircraft Shot By Bandits Crashes In Zamfara by TruthHurts1(m): 2:42pm On Jul 19, 2021
An Alpha Jet belonging to the Nigerian Air Force has crashed during an anti-banditry operation in Zamfara State.

The jet crashed on Sunday around 12.45pm while returning from an air interdiction mission between the boundaries of Zamfara and Kaduna states.

The NAF said on Monday that the jet “came under intense enemy fire which led to its crash in Zamfara State.”

The NAF Spokesman, Edward Gabkwet, said, “Luckily, the gallant pilot of the aircraft, Flight Lieutenant Abayomi Dairo, successfully ejected from the aircraft. Using his survival instincts, the pilot, who came under intense ground fire from the bandits, was able to evade them and sought refuge in nearby settlements awaiting sunset.

“Using the cover of darkness and his phone set for navigation, Flight Lieutenant Dairo was able to elude several bandits’ strongholds and maneuvered his way to a Nigerian Army Unit, where he was finally rescued.

“It is instructive to note that upon receipt of the news of the crash, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, had directed that all efforts must be emplaced to rescue the pilot. Accordingly, NAF Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms and helicopter gunships provided close air support to NAF Special Forces and Nigerian Army troops who were able to locate the crash site and the pilot’s parachute, while also combing nearby locations for any sign of the pilot. It is gladdening to note that while in hiding, Flight Lieutenant Dairo confirmed that the presence of NAF aircraft within the vicinity of the crash site helped in scaring the bandits who were after him, thus enabling him to find refuge and escape to a safe location.

“It is important to also recall that only recently, the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, had directed the Armed Forces of Nigeria to do all it takes to flush out criminal elements in Katsina, Zamfara and Kaduna States.

“It is in fulfilment of this directive that the NAF, in conjunction with surface forces, has in the last 2 weeks mounted intensive day and night air interdiction operations against bandits and their hideouts, especially in these 3 states. Through these intensive air operations, hundreds of bandits have been neutralised and several of their hideouts destroyed.”

The Zamfara crash is coming about three months after an Alpha Jet crashed in Borno State with the whereabouts of the two pilots still unknown after two months.

Politics / ATM Cameras Reveal How 3 Nigerians Stole N580 Million COVID Unemployment Money by TruthHurts1(m): 12:55pm On Jul 19, 2021
Three Nigerians have been caught by the security cameras of Automated Teller Machines in the United States of America for engaging in more than $1.4 million (about N580 million) jobless benefits of the states of Arizona, California, North Carolina, and Maryland.

A California court by US prosecutors accused the trio – Quazeem Owolabi Adeyinka, 20; Ayodeji Jonathan Sangode, 22; and Olamide Yusuf Bakare for filing unemployment remunerations more than 200 times from the four states.
Nigeria Abroad reports that the three were caught in connection with pandemic unemployment benefits fraud as they used two addresses in Hyattsville, Maryland.

Agents have established that Adeyinka and Sangode are currently the residents of one of the addresses, which has been another place of illegal activity including unemployment fraud for much of 2020 and 2021. Bakare, in a separate case in 2019, had appealed guilty to identity fraud.

The 26-page prosecution file seen by Nigeria Abroad says the Nigerians also applied for fraudulent unemployment entitlements in the states of Hawaii, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Texas, Washington, and West Virginia.

However, unlike the other four states, these states do not necessarily use Bank of America (BofA) to disperse their Unemployment Insurance (UI) funds and thus their benefit payouts would not be reflected in the BofA records submitted to the investigation.

BofA records show that 175 prepaid cards worth more than $1.4 million total—$158,000 of which came from Maryland—were sent to the suspects’ addresses.

The funds were depleted through purchases, transfers, and ATM cash withdrawals conducted in California, Florida, and Maryland, according to prosecutors. ATM withdrawals alone amounted to over $989,000.

According to BofA’s footage, Sangode’s Hyundai (MD license plate 3DS7400) was surveilled at a BofA drive-through ATM located at 3413 Kenilworth Ave, Hyattsville, Maryland. The driver of the vehicle resembles Sangode based on a comparison using his MD driver’s license photo, the indictment says.

BofA records also revealed that, on or about July 19, 2020, an individual appearing to be Adeyinka based on a comparison with his driver’s license photo, withdrew $1,000 cash using BofA-EDD debit card ending in 2312 in the name of K.K. at the Landover Hills Bank of America ATM located at 7515 Annapolis Road, Hyattsville, Maryland.

More BofA records show that, on or around July 5, 2020, an individual appearing to be Bakare based on his driver’s license photo withdrew cash using the 7990 BofA-EDD debit card at a BofA ATM located at 10200 Lake Arbor Way, Mitchellville, Maryland.

There were sequences of other such withdrawals at different dates involving different volumes, in which all three individuals were identified.

Angie Barnett, president of the Better Business Bureau of Greater Maryland, said some sources estimate this type of fraud has gone up 3,000% since the coronavirus pandemic, and catching and prosecuting these criminals is tough.

"The bad people are capitalizing on the grief and the fragility of our society. We're emotional, we're fragile and our financial care and concern, and scammers take advantage of that," Barnett said.

Politics / Bandits Kill 13 Policemen, Two Others In Zamfara by TruthHurts1(m): 11:46am On Jul 19, 2021
Gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed 13 mobile policemen and two residents of Kurar Mota village in the Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara state.

A source told SaharaReporters that the police officers were ambushed by the gunmen, when they went to the village in their patrol vehicles.

The gunmen were said to have opened fire on the officers, killing 13 of the them while injuring others.

“Bandits killed 13 visiting mobile police who were on special duty, in Kurar Mota village, Magami district, Gusau Local Government Area. Two villagers were also killed.

“There corpses have been taken to a mortuary in Yariman Bakura Special Hospital, Gusau,”
the source told SaharaReporters.

Deadly attacks have raged across Zamfara state where bandits have thrived.

Farming and herding communities in the state have long been terrorised by gangs who raid villages, stealing cattle and kidnap residents for ransom.

In 2019, the state government entered a peace agreement with the gunmen.
About 15 brand new Hilux vehicles and cash gifts were also given to leaders of different 'repentant' gangs of bandits by the governor in 2020.

But despite all these, communities in the state are still being attacked and residents kidnapped and/or killed.

Politics / Kidnappers On The Loose In Kogi Communities With Daily Abductions, Killings by TruthHurts1(m): 8:04pm On Jul 17, 2021
Residents of several communities in Kogi State are now living in daily fear as their areas have become safe haven of bandits and kidnappers.

The crisis of kidnapping and banditry has worsened in the recent years which residents lamented have also affected business and economic activities.

One of the instances cited was the Thursday night killing of Major General Hassan Ahmed, former Provost Marshal of the Nigerian Army at Ahoko in the Koton Karfe Local Government Government Area of Kogi State by bandits.

The gunmen were said to have shot at the vehicle the deceased officer was travelling in on Thursday.

On July 14, gunmen abducted a traditional ruler, the Adogu of Eganyi in Ajaokuta LGA.

The traditional ruler was returning to his community from Okene, also in Kogi, when he was kidnapped.

Also the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Kogi State chapter, called on the Yahaya Bello-led government and security agencies to map out strategies to curb the incessant attacks and abduction of their members across the state.

In a statement issued by the state chairman of PSN, Dr Lawal Muhammed, the professional body expressed worry that practitioners and businessmen in pharmaceuticals in the state have become soft targets for the kidnappers and armed robbers.

They threatened that pharmacists will withdraw their services if abduction of their members continues unchecked.

“Within the space of one week, we have recorded three cases of kidnapping in broad daylight and two people have lost their lives during these very ugly incidents in Okene, Kabba and Ajaokuta.

“We have also had instances of armed robbery attacks on pharmacists this year and the previous year within Lokoja, the state capital.

“We, therefore, appeal to relevant security agencies in Kogi state and other stakeholders to swing into action for the release of the victims, hale hearty and map out strategies to prevent future occurrence.

“Most of the monies invested in pharmaceuticals are loan from banks. We therefore urge the perpetrators and the general public not to see us as being rich. One of the implications of this heinous act is shortages in drug supply and withdrawal of services.

“We all need drugs, irrespective of our class, either to keep fit or to recover from an illness. It is an abomination to attack health facilities and personnel, even during war, so all hands must be on deck to put an end to this menace,” he said.

Also, a sociocultural development association of the Yoruba speaking part of Kogi State, Okun Development Association (ODA) has called for improved security in the area towards nipping the recent upsurge of kidnapping in Okun land.

The association, in a statement by its Secretary General, Chief Ben Ayo Abereoran, urged security agencies to rise up to their responsibility of protecting lives and property of the people.

The statement reads in part, “The Okun development Association is making a clarion call on all security apparatus in the country to come and save us from kidnapping, savagery, banditry and killings being carried out by dreaded, black hooded ISWAP.”

It further noted that “Okun nation has been under siege of these criminals since 8th of July 2021 when they attack a couple driving in their car along Okeagi-Imela (between Mopamuro and Yagba east LGA), shooting at their car and leave them for dead. A farmer who was trying to help was mercilessly beaten to stupor after several gun shots couldn’t penetrate his body.”

The statement reveals that “On Saturday 10th of 2021, unknown gunmen kidnapped four persons, a man and three women in Mopamuro LGA, as if that is not enough their gang kidnapped an easy going owner of Lifted Pharmacy on 13th 2021 in Kabba.Only God knows who is next.”

Politics / "We Only Fired Warning Shots"-nigerian Army Denies Shooting Dangote Workers by TruthHurts1(m): 5:30pm On Jul 16, 2021
Authorities of the Nigerian Army have reacted to a story about soldiers shooting protesters at Dangote Sugar factory in Gyawana, Adamawa State.

A resident of Gyawana told SaharaReporters that soldiers, despatched for the illegal operation, were hired by the management of the sugar company to chase the protesters away.

SaharaReporters gathered that some people sustained injuries during the shooting.

A statement by the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Major Haruna Mohammed Sani, of the 23 brigades Yola, claimed that its troops did not fire a shot directly at the protesters, but only fired warning shots.

The statement claimed that some of the soldiers sustained minor injuries from the stones thrown by the mob.

The statement reads, "The attention of Headquarters 23 Brigade Nigerian Army has been drawn to a mischievous Sahara Reporters story alleging soldiers opened fire on protesting staff of Dangote Sugar Company at Gyawana district under Lafiya Lamurde Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

"To give the proper perspective on the libelous narrative, this headquarters wishes to inform the general public that on 15 July, 2021 at about 2: 00 pm, the Gyawana community staged a protest against the management of Dangote Sugar Company threatening to shut down the establishment and abduct foreign expatriates for sacking some staff of the company who are members of the host community.

"Efforts to calm the situation by the Nigerian Police and personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence corps proved abortive as the irate youths, wielding cutlasses, machetes, and other dangerous weapons, overpowered them.

"When a distress call was made to an internal security outfit in Adamawa State nicknamed Operation Farauta, comprising soldiers and other para-military agencies, they swiftly mobilised and moved to reinforce the police and Civil Defence deployment at the location.

"In the process, tear gas as well as warning shots were fired as some of the non-violent means of crowd dispersal and to further prevent own troops from being lynched by the mob.

"Consequently, the situation was brought under control. Unfortunately, some soldiers sustained minor injuries from the stones thrown by the mob but no single protester was killed.

"The Nigerian Army is a professional and disciplined institution that operates within the purview of the constitution and in line with rules of engagement and Code of Conduct which serves as guides to troops in all military engagements."
