I am a mason (labourer) there's this engineer that hired us to work in his site outside the city where I live far away from my state of residence in the North East we spent 1 month and 5days working at the site we agreed that he will be given us daily feeding allowance but our remuneration will be paid after the completion of the project.
So after the completion of the project we calculated that I have 115k for the period I spent working . Now it has been 5days since we finished the project but yet to pay me I have families that depend on me and he now want me to go home empty handed after this long since I left my family. I have been asking him but now he doesn't even take my call. please how can I handle this issue? big mistake....dont take promises.... always demand pay dey go....weekly payment, or better would be daily.... nigerians cut corners alot and workers are the easiest to cheat because of no real union to fight for you.... |

wirinet: False. Nigeria has about the highest taxation in the world for businesses. The hidden part is the unofficial and indirect taxation. To export a product from the interland to the ports. You first pay all sorts of unofficial taxes to all sorts of agencies on the road - Police, FRSC, Customs, quarantine, community tax, local government, etc, then the official ones begin at the ports itself, which in itself is not cheap. Importing nko? Same thing. Running a normal business nko? You will be inundated with all sorts of agencies - both local and state, demanding one fee or the other. Ordinary mallams that push wheel barrow selling fruits pay agberos and local governments authorities between N500 - N1000 per day. I have not even started on Okada riders, Keke drivers and transporters in general. .... i realy dont know what you are talkin about.... i dont have this issues.... Nigeria operates a self-assessment system where every taxpayer is expected to file annual personal income tax returns by disclosing all the income earned and derived within a tax year to the relevant State Internal Revenue Services (SIRSs) on or before 31 March of every year. you pay mosquitos tax too....?? you guys are funny.... many of you dont even know where to get approval for buildings sef.... |

owagbeba: USD is the international instrument for exchange of goods and banking . Other countries don’t accept NGN.
Discourage import when local manufacturing is comatose? Insufficient power supply, lack of ease of manufacturing, quadruple taxation, how do you encourage manufacturing in this atmosphere?
You think excessive taxation is good? The result is high inflation.. items will be expensive at local markets.
P&G will now import their stuffs to reduce the losses of manufacturing in this environment. what type of lie is that....?? nigeria has amongst the lowest taxation in the world.... |
