According to Micah Richards former city defender, if Manchester City win the 2022 Premier League title race, Aston Villa will receive £15million as a bonus due to a clause in Jack Grealish’s contract.

He told talkSPORT: “Steven Gerrard would like to win the league for Liverpool on Sunday but Villa has a clause in [the] Jack Grealish deal that could land them an extra £15 million if City wins the league and in this business, money comes first.”
The former City defender is insinuating that Villa will want to throw the game in order to allow City to win the league so they can cash in on the £15m Grealish clause.

This is ridiculous as it would constitute match-fixing and the consequences would cost Villa a lot more than £15m should the Premier League investigate it.

Also, it stands to reason that with Steven Gerrard at the helm, Villa would struggle to get the Liverpudlian to do anything other than his absolute best to hand his boyhood club a Premier League title in any way he can.
