We are free to express our positions and also respect such. I never used the word force.
I believe he should speak at this time period though I cannot compel him to do so

The pitiable thing is that some Nigerians have allowed their HATRED for Buhari to drive them to wish and pray that COVID-19 cases and deaths should escalate in Nigeria so that their hatred and poor rating of Buhari will be justified. Simply malevolent and they will be disappointed.

Let's face it, If God wasn't in control, COVID-19 cases in Nigeria could have been as worse as it is in Italy given that up till early March 2020, Nigerian businessmen were still going to and fro China.

Now, there is no doubt presidential address is politically correct and emotionally fashionable. However, it is meticulous planning and effective actions rather than mere inspirational words that solve problems. Yes, it could have been better if Pres. Buhari talked once in a while but if he chooses not to, he should continue to do the NEEDFUL, working effectively from background with state governors, NCDC and presidential response committee. Above all, he should stay safe and strong for the tasks ahead.

As for me I still insist that President Buhari speak to the nation. It is long overdue. He was elected to be in charge of the Plane Nigeria for the term 2019 to 2023. In a plane after the Head of the cabin crew does his or her drills, the pilot also addresses the passengers.

I have not and will never wish that our President díe in office. He will successfully complete his second term.

So let us all prevail on the President to speak to his people

Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Friday, announced that his former residence at the Presidential Hilltop, Abeokuta, Ogun State be used as Isolation centre for victims of the dreaded Coronavirus disease.

Obasanjo said the 32-room facility has been handed over to the Ogun state government for immediate take over.

The Special Assistant Media, Kehinde Akinyemi who confirmed the development said that the former President was concerned about the pandemic "and I think those who can in one way or another assist in this situation should do so," he was quoted as having said.

The facility located off the Presidential Boulevard, Oke Sari, Abeokuta has each of the 32 rooms ensuite, with a standby generator.

A TV show on Netflix seemed to accurately predict the coronavirus pandemic back in 2018.

The 10th episode of Korean series My Secret Terrius, which was released in 2018, makes mention of the deadly illness, which has been used to refer to several viruses before it became associated with the COVID-19 outbreak.

However, in prescient scenes from the show, a doctor can be heard saying: “The coronavirus attacks the respiratory system," adding: "What’s more serious is that the coronavirus has an incubation period of two to 14 days

She adds: “This virus was manipulated to attack the lungs directly within just five minutes of being exposed.”

When asked if there’s a cure, she responds: “There’s no cure of vaccine available at the moment.”

For us Christians you can only close down public worship sanctuaries, not the Church.
The Church can meet anywhere. Note the scripture says where two or three are gathered in the name of the Lord, He is present there.

I fear non-performing loan in banks book this year will increase.
The above fear may limit banks in meeting their profit target for 2020.

In my opinion, discounting year 2019 profit for the banks when projecting 2020 profit will be more realistic.

That's why the prices are dropping.
It is glaring that the 2020 profits will be considerably lower than that of 2019 hence the considerable drop in value of the shares.

Governments would not generally default in domestic Govt securities payments as they can either print more money, roll over the debt, increase tax or use any other legal means possible

The snag is when it comes to external debts, since those moneys will mostly be paid in foreign currencies of which they have little of no control

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says 23 suspected cases of coronavirus have been identified in Edo, Lagos, Ogun, FCT and Kano states.

Chikwe Ihekweazu, NCDC director-general, disclosed this on Sunday, in Abuja.

He said besides the index case recorded in Lagos, there is no new confirmed case of the virus in the country.

Ihekweazu said a total of 219 contacts of the index case were identified, including contacts from hotel, workplace and hospital.

“No new contacts have been reported in Lagos and Ogun states,” he said.

He said the confirmed case is clinically stable at the designated treatment facility for the virus at the infectious disease hospital (IDH) in Yaba, Lagos.

He reiterated that a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC) activated at level three had continued to coordinate the national response activities led by NCDC.

He said field investigations were ongoing and all contacts were undergoing daily symptom monitoring.

He said there was also a centralised follow-up of persons of interests (POIs) initiated for people outside Lagos and Ogun states.

“Testing of samples collected through the national influenza sentinel surveillance system as part of enhanced surveillance is ongoing,” he said.

“A draft tool for tracking and monitoring HCW infection has been developed.”

Ihekweazu said resources on the virus have also been developed by NCDC for guidance of schools, infection prevention and control recommendations for health workers.
