k4kenny: I've told my story on another thread where a doctor suggested cs for no other reason but the fact that I was uneasy during the pelvic check( finger poking). This to me isn't enough reason for recommending the surgery, but I agreed to it cos of my naivete. Though there were no complications and my scar is next to invisible, I couldn't help but think I was manipulated to do the surgery. Most private hospital are after their profit these days.So they actually did a pelvic check b4 they concluded u have a CS..u shud have been more firm to ask why they decided to do a CS then..because u might think it's uneasiness, while the doctor might have seen or concluded so many reasons for a CS from the so called finger poking"....so for the other dude...if get a second opinion...if it's still CS..oboi na CS oo..if u no want, at least them don warn u b4 hand..so no P |
iyatrustee: It is more of a cultural thing. I have 2cs and 1 vj birth and would tell you the difference is clear. My only grouse is that our doctors are not up to date technologically. They should learn to suture us back properly. My last child and c section is almost 2yrs and my stomach still looks like am 4mths pregnant! Haba!So are u blaming the doctors now...? because last I checked there are places in this country where technologies of the kind u are talking about are...just that u have to pay through your nose...meanwhile, the last strike the doctors went on was for such things..equip teaching hospitals with state of the art techs, and pple said docs are selfish...its not the doctors fault at all at all..blame the system of training doctors. |
aizakun: My. Wife's EDD is a week from now and the doctor said she is going thru a CS,although my wife's vagina is tight cos she was marrried as a virgin, the scan showed that my baby is 2.9kg and there is no breach, pls. Advise on what to do cos I am not concerned about the cost of the CS but the risk and my wife is fat so the tendency of her stomach going down is giving a problem, pls I need advice from the houseHello..did u ask the doctor the reason for picking the option for the CS...is this doctor an obstetrician...? These are part of what u should consider...there are like more than 15 indications for ceaserian section...so pls ask your wife to tell u what the doc said... |
britiko: Except its been done in a standard hospital, its always a scary decision to make in niaja o.I laugh at pple sometimes, what u pple don't know is that it's the same consultant in government hospital that still go to operate in these private ones mentioned....its what ur pocket can afford...have once witnessed a high profile patient declined admission nd treatment for his child...in a general hospital...took the child to reddington...and when they got there, they had to wait some minutes for the same consultant that would have seen then in the general hospital to come see them..ofcourse they didn't know....so really, it's not the docs, it's the the system....u pay 40-70k for CS in a general hosp..and u pay 600k - 1m in some hosp mentioned above...so na as ur pocket big reach.. |
Onyinyechimara: Those are very useless doctors indeedHello..its not all d the time a bikini incision is successful.....so get your facts rights...probably the CS was done by an inexperienced doc..or even a nurse..trust naija, buh all pple sabi talk is doc dis doc dat...get ur facts right |
NAJALYN: Why opt for cs if normal delivery is possible? Cs is very risky and should only be a last resort. Women, during pregnancy, should avoid too much carbohydrate meals, too much eggs, minerals, etc. as they would make baby too big & delivery difficult.Hello...dont misinform pple...CS is not very risky...its surgery..and all surgeries carries it's own risk...buh with statistics...its can be aswell very safe |
Chinwem: People would rather believe their pastors than their doctors. That's why the pastors should be involed in the enlightenment....i once was in a hospital where a woman was in labor...(prolonged already...) this matured man of God came in and told the doctor to continue his work..that he will just be outside praying...the woman was being prep for surgery...and just b4 she was wheeled in..she delivered...now that's a matured pastor who allowed d woman to be in d hospital..while still praying..others will prefer her to be in d church..nd when she's almost dead push her out..as if God no dey insyd hospital....na devil dey dere... |
kate85: Some doctors suggest cs for their own convinences. I had a prolonged labour with my first child and d doctor suggested they operate me. I wanted to know d reason for d operation cos I did some research and know some of d reasons why a doctor will opt for operation. He said he just feel for me cos I'm in pains. I heard one of d nurses saying they are tired with d length of my labour. Well I had my baby after 19 hrs of labourWell...the doctor might have been wrong, buh mayb he just didn't want to spell it out...the baby might have being have issues too in there..then wats the point of going through prolonged labor....being sturborn then at the end giving birth to a baby that is asphyxiated damaging the baby's brain...the child den ends up a dullard in future even if he escapes having CP... |
I think the pastors should be at d forefront educating pple...cos in the 1st instance, they are the same that mislead pple...yes I do believe in miracles...buh clear cases are clear...if miracle one happen..let it happen just b4 the woman is wheeled into the theater..not the woman being on one mountain with pple scabbashing on her head...risking her life and the babies life |

So..na why u come call am 8.5M...abi werrin u write sef...onto d next one.... |
Well..its not new...some general hospitals in lagos are not this bad...buh some are worse...federal hospitals have there own share...by and large, am glad the writer said treatment was good..and the mom was getting better...because when doctors go on strike to ask for better facilities..(the last strike they were on..) pple vomit nonsense saying doctors are self centered...tell me how a hospital like this will even have other basic infrastructure to handle emergencies...? it's time for people to voice out their pains...mite I also chip in that nurses are by work allocation supposed to be incharge of the wards...so they should be the ones making complaints (which am sure they mite have..) but NO u won't see them in the fore fronts of aluta or strike...cos they are always too timid nd prefer the deterioration to continue... |
It's obvious that nigerians is so ignorant and choose to be...even d educated ones...nd the little that get to acquire some knowledge as regards other fields...choose to do so nd and still act dumb.... Pls if what that patient had was CLDX there is no hiding under anywhere, the patient unfortunately is a gonner...except u dey Yankee or India where u fit get liver transplant...no Hope. so wats d fuss about an injection dat killed d patients.... By d way...there is little or no injection like dat...except the so called nurse set out to kuukuuma kill d patient that will knock the patient out just like dat....mayb d nurse was blind sha... My point is....pls, let's try nd be civil. yes I agree health professionals do make mistakes (buh occurs mostly with dem fake nurses nd docs sef)....just like person get brain cancer nd u say na paracetamol inj wey nurse give na hin kill am...d nurse na winchhhh ? shooo....abeg jaareee |

So d said nigeria was killed by a drug mob...are we blind to this fact...pls wat was the relationship between the guy nd d drug guys...the fact that the guy is a nigeria is enough to suspect he might have been in a shady deal of some sort...so why all d fuss...abeg, the dude died in d hustle...finis. |
d-myth:Cancelled as how....if they arrange another one...u still can't change the fact that tens of thousands will apply for hundreds of spaces....the pressure will still be there....pple will still use connections....so, really it's a bigger problem than just cancelling. |
I put it to you if they tag d form price for 30k...pple wey e sure for aspa leg go still take d forms cos dats d way it is. say forms are free don't mean one has a better chance of being employed..... |

. My second was through cs because she was breeched. D recovery period wasn't easy at all. I still prefer d natural birth, but if there is any complications I will go for a cs with any fear.
