All evidence on ground point to the fact that Muslims in the north currently outnumber Christians and their population growth rate keeps increasing. If you've been to the north you'll notice that they have large land mass. Some States in the north are twice or thrice the size of one state in the southeast. In fact, kano will be like the size of Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi put together.

Also, Islamic religion permits early marriage, polygamy and having multiple children! All these are pointers to the fact that they are more populated. Unlike the south(especially southeast) where people don't get married on time and even when they eventually get married they start struggling with conception and at the end they end up having just a few (2 or 3) children.

Niger State is bigger than the entire South East. The population of Almajiris alone is almost 50% igbos.

The only areas of osun that are Muslims are Iwo, osogbo and ikirun. Ife, ijesha land which are the largest areas are mostly Christians.

In Oyo, only ibadan can you find significant Muslims.

Ogun has minority Muslims. Lagosians are only Muslims by name.

Aside southern Kaduna, the zurus in Kebbi , hausa/fulani christain (maguzawa) are a minority. Overall, the Muslim-christain spread of the region is well Over 80-20. Co's even amongst the southern Kaduna and Zurus are a significant percentage of Muslims.
