So, to save guys the trouble and girls, the nuisance, here are seven tell-tale signs that help guys know when to back off. 1. She ignores your calls: This is the number one bummer. This was the first answer I was given by most ladies. You think because she gave you her number when you asked for it means she likes you or would pick up your calls. Think again! If all the time you call, she never picks up, maybe you should consider looking for another babe. 2. She gives you the I’ll-call-you-back flip-off: This is very common. If she tells you each time you call her, “Tunde I’m so sorry, I am in the middle of something. I would call you back in five minutes” and then doesn’t, she probably never will. So, don’t wait around for it. 3. She’s always busy/”posting” you: Okay, now you have her number and she eventually picks up. Then the moment you ask to see her, she tells you a million and one things she has to do: “My brother is sick, I have to stay home with him.” “I already have plans to hang out with my girlfriends. We’ll see tomorrow.” Trust me, she is probably home watching a Vin Diesel movie and eating popcorn. If this consistently happens, this is a sign. Brother, move on! 4. She says she has a boyfriend: Sometimes, this is false, guys. She may not actually be dating anyone and would just tell you this, so you can get off her back. Some even go as far as saying they are gay. Although this doesn’t stop some determined guys. For these guys, keep on chasing, God is in control of the situation. 5. She is materialistic: I found this answer rather hilarious. One of the ladies I interviewed said, “Its very easy, just demand loads of things from him, he would run away”. Today, it is her hair, tomorrow, it’s a car. Guys, a little expo, she might not actually be this kind of person. She just does not care about you and wants to discard you. So Romeo, look for your Juliet somewhere else. 6. She prefers dates in public places: This is another sign. Every time you keep asking her out on dates or ask her to have dinner at your house, she looks for ways to shy away. She does not want to be trapped in an uncomfortable position where it would only be the two of you. No matter how hard you try, she would avoid intimate lunches or dinners. She might even bring her friend along. We all know guys hate this. 7. Friendzone: I had to save the best for last. This is very common among the ladies. You like this girl so much and next thing you know, she introduces you as her friend, or even tells you things like, “Tolu, I value our friendship and don’t want to lose you as a good friend”. Mister, I’m sorry to say, but you have been “friend zoned”. This one dey pain! Most guys like to ignore these signs because they feel she is just playing hard to get. Sometimes guys, this is not the case. She is just not that into you. https://m.premiumtimesng.com/arts-entertainment/166866-how-to-tell-when-a-nigerian-girl-is-not-into-you.html |

The American Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle, on Monday said his country was not yet in a position to make the Ebola Disease experimental drug, Zmapp, available to Nigeria. Mr. Entwistle said during a visit to the Nigerian Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, that the drug was not yet available in sufficient quantity to go round all the countries requesting it. The ambassador did not say when the drug would be available for Africa’s most populous country. He only advised the Nigerian health ministry to focus on isolation, screening and prevention. Mr. Entwistle commended the efforts of the Federal Government in curbing the spread of the Ebola virus in the country. He said the aim of the visit was to discuss further on the anti-Ebola cooperation between the U.S government and the Nigerian government. The ambassador also praised the work done at the emergency operation centre and the isolation centre, saying he understood that they were working hard. “You have all seen the headlines over the weekend, this is an issue that we have to keep working hard on, it may be with us for a while but there are some encouraging signs. “Your government is doing a good job on contact tracing; I noticed when I flew back here on Thursday night into the country, before I left the plane I filed in the questionnaire. “I was very impressed because I had to put in my seat number which is a very good idea, so that if you have to trace the guy who was seating next to me you will know where I am. “I have been very impressed by this thing so I encourage the government of Nigeria to keep at it, which I know they will,” he said. Mr.Entwistle said the two countries had a broad partnership to keep collaborating, cooperating and working hard to make the world a better place. He said he could not think of a more important example of cooperation than the Ebola cooperation. Speaking during the visit, the Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, said the Nigerian Government was withholding its approval for the Anti-Ebola drug Nano-Silver produced by a Nigerian because it did not meet the requirements of the National Health Research Ethics Code. He said that the Nano Silver drug, which was made available to the Emergency Operations Centre in Lagos on August 14, did not meet basic research requirements. “The experimental drug, Nano Silver did not meet the requirements of the National Health Research Ethics Code. “Accordingly, the approval was withheld by the National Health Research Ethics Committee,” Mr. Chukwu said. He said the ambassador’s visit was an opportunity to share ideas and information on Ebola virus. “He is the spokesperson for the United States’ government here in Nigeria, and so he came to me as the Chief Public Health Officer of the country to exchange views with me,” Mr. Chukwu said. The minister said Mr. Entwistle also visited to know if there was any new development that recently cropped up on the Ebola virus. https://m.premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news/166942-ebola-why-u-s-wont-give-nigeria-experimental-drug-zmapp-u-s-ambassador.html |
There are strong indications that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, will soon defect to the All Progressives Congress. Our correspondent learnt in Abuja on Monday that the Speaker was set to dump the Peoples Democratic Party for the APC after a nationwide consultation. Tambuwal’s spokesperson, Imam Imam, said the nationwide consultation would determine whether the Speaker would contest the Presidency or the Sokoto State governorship election in 2015. Imam, who spoke with our correspondent on the telephone, said that the Speaker was still consulting on the 2015 presidency and the defection to the APC. Imam said, “He (Tambuwal) is still consulting. The outcome of the consultation will be known at the appropriate time. He is consulting on whether he will defect to the APC. He is consulting on whether he will contest the presidency. He is also consulting on contesting governorship election.” The Speaker had on Tuesday, last week, held a closed-door meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State. After the meeting, Imam said Obasanjo and Tambuwal discussed the state of the nation. He had said, “You know Baba (Obasanjo) is father to all in the country. The visit was a consultation. It was about how to move the country forward and make the country better.” On Monday, www.thecable.ng reported that Tambuwal gave the biggest hint about his planned defection on Sunday in his hometown, Tambuwal, Sokoto State. After collecting his Permanent Voter Card, Tambuwal was asked if he would defect to the APC, he responded in Hausa, “Kowa ni tsuntsu kukan gidan su yake yi,” meaning “birds of a feather flock together.” Imam, in the interview with our correspondent on Monday, explained Tambuwal’s statements in Sokoto State on Sunday. He said, “The Speaker granted an interview in Tambuwal yesterday (Sunday) after collecting his permanent voter card. When journalists asked him questions about defection and whether he would contest the Presidency, he only said that he had to consult his people and the consultation is still going on. “The outcome of the consultation with the people will be made known at the appropriate time. Every politics is local. It is the needs and aspirations of your locality that will determine the direction of your own politics.” The Speaker has enjoyed a strong support of the APC members in the House. The support of the APC members was instrumental to his victory over Mrs. Mulikat Akande-Adeola, the candidate that the PDP backed for the position of a speaker. The APC leaders that have been mentioned as having interest in the party’s presidential ticket include a former Head of State, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.); the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and a former Kwara State Governor, Senator Bukola Saraki www.punchng.com/news/tambuwal-set-to-dump-pdp-for-apc/ |

Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi at the weekend said the war against Boko Haram insurgents will not stop unless the Federal Government is ready to tackle it sincerely. The governor alleged that some Federal Government institutions have stolen the money meant for human and infrastructural development. He also indicted the Presidency of inciting Muslims and Christians against one another to win the 2015 general elections by all means. Amaechi spoke on Kaduna-based Liberty Radio weekly programme, “Guest of the Week”. The governor noted that until the Federal Government tackled corruption, education and poverty, insurgency would continue across the land. According to him, if the Federal Government supports the military through intelligence gathering, which has combated militancy in Rivers State and other Niger Delta states, it would be the end to the menace. Amaechi said there is need for the Federal Government to work with everybody, especially the locals, to know who and where the insurgents live. The governor stressed that it was the failure of the government that caused militancy. Using the Niger Delta militancy as a case study, he said: “It took me just two months to deal with militancy in Port Harcourt (Rivers State capital). If a state could achieve that within that space of time, how much more the Federal Government that has everything it needs at its disposal. At least, if we did not stop militancy, it has reduced. “The earlier the Federal Government stopped inciting Muslims against Christians to win elections, the better for Nigeria. “Killing militants was not the solution to the militancy. So, we began with infrastructure and gave them economic livelihood. That’s because when they know that when they go out, they would earn some money, they would not have time to perpetrate evil of this magnitude.” Responding to a question on the alleged rift between him and President Goodluck Jonathan, Amaechi said: “We are not quarrelling; we just have a disagreement on how to govern the country. I have a huge respect for him. But only he is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. So, he should be the only person to tell us how to bring the abducted Chibok schoolgirls back.” On whether or not he had the intention to run for the Presidency in 2015 on the platform of the All Peoples Congress (APC), the Ikwere-born politician said he could only do so if he had the support of at least 25 million Nigerians. thenationonlineng.net/new/boko-haramll-end-when-fed-govt-wants-says-amaechi/ |
Islamic State militants could grow strong enough to target people on the streets of Britain unless action is taken, David Cameron has warned. The British Prime Minister, writing in the Sunday Telegraph, said a “humanitarian response” to IS was not enough and a “firm security response” was needed. The BBC says it comes as Church leaders expressed concern that the United Kingdom had no “coherent” approach to tackling Islamic extremism. IS has seized large parts of northern Iraq and Syria over the summer. Kurdish forces, supported by United States air strikes, are currently battling to retake Mosul dam from IS fighters in northern Iraq. There are also continuing reports of massacres of non-Muslims by the extreme Sunni group, which is seeking to build a new Islamic state spanning Iraq and Syria. Writing in the Sunday Telegraph, Mr. Cameron said: “True security will only be achieved if we use all our resources – aid, diplomacy, our military prowess – to help bring about a more stable world. “If we do not act to stem the onslaught of this exceptionally dangerous terrorist movement, it will only grow stronger until it can target us on the streets of Britain.” He warned that if IS was able to “carve out its so- called caliphate,” the UK would be “facing a terrorist state on the shores of the Mediterranean and bordering a NATO member.” thenationonlineng.net/new/is-cameron-warns-of-possible-threat-to-uk/ |

Seasoned Nollywood actor, Martins Amaihe has broken the barrier many Nollywood stars have been trying to break for years by setting to be cast in a Bollywood, Indian film. The actor, who has featured in top draw Nollywood movies like Silent night, Face-off, Rampage on Campus, among others said the casting for the Bollywood film is almost done and hinted he might have to travel to India soon to see the project to completion. “I am so happy that I have a new project now in Bollywood. I will be attending the final movie cast which is taking place in October of this year in India. I am so happy about this because it will go a long way in uniting the two biggest movie industries in the world, Nollywood and Bollywood,” he said. Martins has done up to sixty-five movies in his entire illustrious career. Born on October 26th as the sixth of seven children into the family of Mr. and Mrs Paul Uchechukwu Amaihe of Ihebinowere- Okwudor, Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria, Martins has always had the passion for the arts, and believed it is the only profession that could bring out his true personality. *Martins Immediately after graduating with a degree in accounting from Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri, Martins began his journey in the world of make-believe taking part in various activities in the Nigerian movie / theater industry Nollywood such as acting in movies, stage dramas in theaters and soaps on television. Since 2002, as a member of the AGN (Actors Guild of Nigeria), he has produced, performed and acted in series of movies such as Silent Night, Face-off, Rampage on Campus, Cry of an Orphan (stage drama), The concubine ( a theater stage drama at the National Theater ), Black Friday (Only shows on theater) and many more. He has been featured in over 65 movies and was previously nominated for Best Teenage Actor in Thema Award in the year 2000 for the movie Silent Night and Best Upcoming Actor on stage drama in Encomium Entertainment Award in 2009. “I am doing more movies for my fans to see more of me. At this point in my career I will not give up. I will make sure I get to the top, give my best to viewers and stay focused in order to achieve my dream” he reflected on his career. But Martins hasn’t been as successful in the matters of the hearts as he has in the world of make-believe as he confessed to Potpourri that he his yet to find a woman he could call his own. “ After all I have achieved as an actor and in the world of movies and theatres I haven’t found a woman I can settle down with. No woman has been able to capture my heart. So, I can say I am still searching for a wife material. I seek three major things in a woman. First, a woman that has the fear of God in her, a hard-working woman and a woman that’s is full of respect. All the women I have seen ,want me because I am an actor but I am yet to see the one who possesses the qualities I want,” he revealed. www.vanguardngr.com/2014/08/nollywood-actor-martins-amaihe-set-star-bollywood-film/

Awka — MORE facts emerged, yesterday, on the recent defection of four members of the House of Representatives elected on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, with the national chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh accusing the immediate past governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, of instigating the action. Addressing reporters at Aguleri, the home-town of Governor Willie Obiano, Umeh said the former governor was the architect of the defection. “The plot of the defection was hatched by Obi and his associates,” he stated, adding that “part of the group’s game-plan was to go to the Presidency to say that APGA was not supporting Jonathan, which is not true,” he said. He described those who decamped from APGA as election ticket hunters, noting that whenever they did not get what they wanted from a party, they began to curse that party, and urged them to leave APGA alone. According to him, “APGA is supporting Jonathan 100 per cent and has even set up a Non- Governmental Organisation, NGO, called ‘Join Jonathan Journey, JJJ, which will be launched in Awka next Wednesday.” He also said the reason given by Obi for resigning as the chairman of the Board of Trustees, BoT, of APGA was due to the new appointment he got from Mr. Ifeanyi Ubah as the South East coordinator of Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, TAN. According to the APGA chairman, APGA had wanted to inaugurate Obi as a BoT chairman before leaving office as governor and that the party asked him to provide a budget for the special convention to that effect. Umeh regretted that the former governor dilly- dallied, apparently because he had made up his mind not to accept the role. Umeh said: “With all our hearts, we wanted to make him the APGA BoT chairman and leader of our party, but the issue was that because of the leadership crisis experienced in the party then, he thought that my leadership had come to an end and there was therefore no need to deal with us.” www.vanguardngr.com/2014/08/obi-encouraged-apga-defectors-umeh/ |
