Your example of Mike is good one but you seemed to fail to mention that in the context of a "believer" which the quran talks about, a jew or a christian will have to become a believer (muslim) before he/she can be said to now be of good character as you claimed. So you see, you can't equate this with some circumstance of a druggie. The verse explicity said "...because the jews and the christians are only friends to each other"

Agreed, this bloodshed on both side has to stop but, stop trying to manipulate us in conflict to the quran stance that hating the state of Israel is way to go just because they don't believe that Christ is the Messiah etc. Unlike the verse I quoted, Christ didn't teach us to return hate with hate.

Lastly, you can't make me hate the bible, you'd only die trying. What is understood doesn't need to be explained.

If you read my earlier comment very well, you should have seen where I blame the bank and the security operatives for being over-zealous and possibly irresponsible. But does that mean that the students were totally not culpable? Stop whipping religious sentiments over something that most people know. Let's face facts and stop deluding ourselves. maestroferddi: It depends on what you want to face: reality or going on an emotional trip. What I gave you is a dispassionate view of what, I suspect, happened.

maestroferddi: Nigerians and their rabid sensationalism. It is so easy to deduce what played out in this scenario. Granted that it was irresponsible of the the security operatives guiding the bank to subject some of the complaining customers to the tortuous and humiliating experience as narrated here. However, knowing some students and their tendency to belief that being students excludes them from obeying simple instructions and displaying rationality, it is easy to see that they might have started causing trouble when told that the branch was closing earlier than usual. A bank is a business and as such should safeguard its safety and survival. I wonder what anyone expects a bank to do given rumours of impending armed robbery attacks. Or does it mean these students have not heard of instances where almost the entire workforce of a bank branch is wiped out by dare-devil armed robbers? The fact that we have functional cashless portals now in Nigeria does not help the students' case. What I do think is that the students got unduly agitated. We all know that some Muslims have this habit of being tetchy and quick-tempered especially during their Ramadan fast. Yours truly has experienced this for many years of interaction with Muslim friends and associates. I believe some kind of teaching by Muslim religious leaders will come handy here.
