Thanks for the timely reminder.

In addition, it's better to observe the fast early enough especially now that we are still psychologically in the mood.

May Allah make it easy and grant us the reward. May He (swt) make us meet in Aljannah firdaus. Amin!

Are you God??
What makes you think am a GEJ fan?
Everywhere in the world where reforms take place in terms infrastructural development, people have to sacrifice and get compensated for property loss by the government.

Bringing that here as a justification to castigate a bereaved family only present you as being heartless.

Kids on nairaland will not seize to amaze me.

He broke the news by word of mouth, phone or Internet makes no difference. What's important is the news hit the target audience.

Facebook isn't for just fun like most kids do, it's a business empire and one of the most effective means of communication in the world today.

@OP, I sympathise with the family of ElRufai. My sincere condolence and may GOD forgive the deceased.

The family deserve warm and kind words at this moment not the trash been spewed by uncultured and heartless kids here who have never lost a loved one.

The extrajudicial killing of Muhammed Yusuf of boko haram is still yielding negative results and yet the zombie soldiers are complicating the problem with killing shites.

Check the history of the shites and you will understand the predicament of our nation. A female shites can be as deadly as a male Nigerian soldier when called to action.

To the kids spewing trash out of Hatred and intolerance, the problem here is beyond sentiments, the safety of Nigerians is eroding to zero %.

I'm not in anyway supporting violence but just giving an analysis of the situation at hand. The FG should promptly throw her weight in this issue to ensure reconciliation.

The psyche of these young Nigerians has been eroded and ocean of sympathy that resides in humanity is running dry.

This is what you get when you are filled with hatred, intolerance, religious and tribal bigotry.
Foreign AffairsRe: Netanyahu, HAMAS And Dearth Of Reason In Middle East by tunshe: 4:07pm On Jul 23, 2014
Vado: Out of context? Oh please, I didn't add nor remove from that passage. Your example of Mike is good one but you seemed to fail to mention that in the context of a "believer" which the quran talks about, a jew or a christian will have to become a believer (muslim) before he/she can be said to now be of good character as you claimed. So you see, you can't equate this with some circumstance of a druggie. The verse explicity said "...because the jews and the christians are only friends to each other"

Agreed, this bloodshed on both side has to stop but, stop trying to manipulate us in conflict to the quran stance that hating the state of Israel is way to go just because they don't believe that Christ is the Messiah etc. Unlike the verse I quoted, Christ didn't teach us to return hate with hate.

Lastly, you can't make me hate the bible, you'd only die trying. What is understood doesn't need to be explained.
I really appreciate your manners.

You still getting it wrong, the Qur'an can't be interpreted like your textbooks.

I'm not preaching hate about Jews but presenting an eye opener to Nigerian christians who think Jews are christians or Israel is the land of Christians.

On your last point, I was a Christian like you and had wasted my time until someone presented me with biblical reasons why I shouldn't remain a Christian because Jesus wasn't a Christian.

I'm not willing to derail this thread. Thanks for your time.
Foreign AffairsRe: Netanyahu, HAMAS And Dearth Of Reason In Middle East by tunshe: 10:08am On Jul 23, 2014
Vado: Dude, Christians aren't looking at this conflict from that angle at all. Whatever the Jews think of Christ, Mary etc is none of our business and we won't automatically harbor hatred for them because of that. We are for common sense and humanity.

But wait a min, how do you even intend to dissuade us of a cordial relationship when YOUR QURAN beg to differ here: Qur'an (5:51) - "O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people."
I just stated statements of fact, it's none of my business whether you accept it or not.

You just quoted the quran out of context. If I say don't associate with Mike your friend because he's on drugs and might harm you in January 2000. Does that mean if he's now a changed man with good character in 2014 you should still not associate with him?

If you are interested in quoting scriptures, I will make you hate the bible and you will realise you have been wasting your time as a Christian.

Jesus Christ "ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free" the truth bro, not an idea or someone's opinion. I know the truth so am free.
What's your point?
Foreign AffairsRe: Netanyahu, HAMAS And Dearth Of Reason In Middle East by tunshe: 9:05am On Jul 23, 2014
For those Christians thinking this is a crisis between them and Muslims, you don't have to be gullible and ignorant.

Let me tell you what a jew thinks about you.

1. A jew believes that your lord and personal saviour, Jesus was a bastard son.

A Muslim believes Jesus is a Prophet of God.

2. A jew believes Mary is an Adulterer

A Muslim believes Mary is a pious woman and a chapter of the Qur’aan is named after her.

Isrealis are the terrorists here and Palestinians are the victims.

Stop the hate against Muslims, be a reader and stand up for the truth.

This is a pathetic story, may God grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Pastor Adeboye has been silent about GEJ's incompetence to eradicate BH because his church is one of the campaign ground. Maybe he will speak up now.

People die everyday in Borno, the rich and poor irrespective of their religion. It's not just RCCG pastor, ECWA, Catholic, Imams, teachers........

The FG should intensify efforts to extract the boko haram guys as fast as possible.

Our losses as a nation is enormous.

maestroferddi: Abeg, leave that thing. If you read my earlier comment very well, you should have seen where I blame the bank and the security operatives for being over-zealous and possibly irresponsible. But does that mean that the students were totally not culpable? Stop whipping religious sentiments over something that most people know. Let's face facts and stop deluding ourselves. Your witness must be one of the students involved...
Honestly, I see your points but introducing preconceived idea about Muslims and the fasting victims to balance your judgement is faulty.

If the victims were presented to be non Muslims how would you have rephrased your comment?
PoliticsRe: Impunity At GT Bank- A Call For Solidarity by tunshe: 9:47am On Jul 18, 2014
maestroferddi: It depends on what you want to face: reality or going on an emotional trip. What I gave you is a dispassionate view of what, I suspect, happened.
Discarding the eye witness account and replacing it with what you suspect is the reality?

Dispassionate view with religious passion enveloped by sentiments.

What you did was to throw the blame on the victims because you have a preconceived idea about Muslims especially when they fast without viewing the narrator's perspective.
PoliticsRe: Impunity At GT Bank- A Call For Solidarity by tunshe: 8:57am On Jul 18, 2014
maestroferddi: Nigerians and their rabid sensationalism. It is so easy to deduce what played out in this scenario. Granted that it was irresponsible of the the security operatives guiding the bank to subject some of the complaining customers to the tortuous and humiliating experience as narrated here. However, knowing some students and their tendency to belief that being students excludes them from obeying simple instructions and displaying rationality, it is easy to see that they might have started causing trouble when told that the branch was closing earlier than usual. A bank is a business and as such should safeguard its safety and survival. I wonder what anyone expects a bank to do given rumours of impending armed robbery attacks. Or does it mean these students have not heard of instances where almost the entire workforce of a bank branch is wiped out by dare-devil armed robbers? The fact that we have functional cashless portals now in Nigeria does not help the students' case. What I do think is that the students got unduly agitated. We all know that some Muslims have this habit of being tetchy and quick-tempered especially during their Ramadan fast. Yours truly has experienced this for many years of interaction with Muslim friends and associates. I believe some kind of teaching by Muslim religious leaders will come handy here.
Until you get the other side of the story,I think you should flow with the information you have. Stop assuming,it only makes you look heartless especially when you stand on a religious divide.

Check the update from the narrator.

Omexonomy: Muslims and their wahala again.
It could have been anybody, the only thing you could read is Muslim? Shame on you!

@OP, Though I feel your pain and could only imagine the pain of the victims.

No to GTbank isn't the way to go. You need to get a lawyer to press for claims.

The best company in the world still go through continuous improvement.

The Students' union and the school should also send their displeasure to the branch Manager or the HO of GTbank. I am sure they will apologize and improve their customer service.

Some of the Nigerian Security men are products of failure so you shouldn't expect too much sense from them. A large group of illiterates are in the Nigerian police force and some of them find joy in oppressing civilians.

They will reap what they sow!
