Hassanamed: D world as awhole has givn us a negativ reputasn, we the youth ar nt findin it easy wit our peers cos they kip on acuzin islam of killings, dis has afected our disposition in life generally, pls join me to cal on our islam leaders to address this issue. My brother, the truth is that those who know the truth knows that Islam is a religion of peace. We do not accept the psychological degradation by the enemies of Islam, u have to stand up, raise your head high and be proud to be privileged to be a Muslim. You shouldn't allow your peers influence you rather you should influence them positively with Islamic orientation. However, you need knowledge to achieve this. The various Muslim leaders are doing their best to propagate Islam, preach peace, enjoining good and forbidden evil. I advice you also watch peaceTV and learn more about Islam. The problem in Syria and Egypt are purely politically motivated. Iraq and Afghanistan were due to Western invasion. Boko haram issue is a product of politics, remember Azazi who was privileged to have all security reports came openly to say PDP is Boko Haram. Few weeks later, he was removed and later died in a suspicious helicopter crash. Allah protects Islam and He has perfected the Religion. Rejoice and focus on your duty to God and humanity. Eidul Mubaraq! |
kizmartino: @muslims..Can you explain the contradictions in the attached pix? If you do, I will struggle with time to clarify your confusion.
|
ire4me: @ kablooee, don't mind maclatunji, he is fond of copy copy.Thank you for contributing your mb but this is not time for personality attack. Pls come to my house for Eid celebration. ![]() |
kablooee: Maclatunji, I respected you more than this, how can you post a write up on something this sensitive without reading it first? Now someone asked a question and you're directing him to the author. Am disappointed.Sympathizer, pls drop it. This is Islam, the two parties are now on the same page. |
Alhamdulilah! Jazakum Lahu Khaeran Tbaba1234 for your timely intervention. Going forward, a repeat of this nature from two highly respected Nairaland Muslims, moderators?will attract fines ![]() |
Sheriff©:Continue with your fast and intention, only Allah reward a fasting person. Keep hoping in His mercy that He accepts it as an act of Ibadah. I will also recommend a book," let us be Muslims". Maa Salaam |
Realone92: Is it advisable I tell my neighbor am fasting ....today .....if offered mi food .........askingYes boss! |
This reminds me of Rammadhan, sahur things! ![]() I'm loving Islam, so so perfect! Alhamdulilah and happy Eid to all Muslims. May Allah grant us long life to witness many more with sound health and prosperity. |
Please, let's not forget that FASTING tomorrow is VERY IMPORTANT. |
Wahiyakum my sister! You are on point, May Allah bless you and your family. I remember a saying about burning candles, that if you want to be great in Life don't sleep ALL night. It's applicable for studying and praying. My teacher also said to me that a Muslim who doesn't observe Tahjuud is like paper in the hands of his/her enemies. Thanks once again for your relevant contribution, May Allah grant us Firdaus (Amin). |
Samboot: U can all keep ranting, all I know is this world would have been a better place if there had bin no islamic religion..If you need enlightenment, state reasons why you think so and you will get fruitful clarification. Otherwise, I will take your comment as that of "programmed" human. |
Salaam alaykum and Barka Jummah, I'm glad that we have a happy Muslim community here on Nairaland. The question above is not in any way promote spiritual superiority but to encourage us to climb the height of Islamic spirituality. I was in a car in Gombe State, when a lady said her pastor told them to always wake up before the Muslims because if otherwise, the Muslims would have gained the day. I smiled and told myself that Islam is rich and Muslims are fortunate to be on the right path. The success to continuous performance of tahjuud is early to bed, early to rise. You need to sleep well to be refreshed, program your mind towards it,if possible set your alarm, accept to reap the immense benefit and start with two rakats. When millions are asleep, you wake up to praise your Creator, thank Him, adore Him and seek His blessing, mercy and sustenance. This is one of the things Ramadan came to teach us. If you have not being observing Tahjuud, make up your mind today and create a fecund connection with your Lord. Do you know that tahjuud has numerous benefits? Abu Hurairah quoted that the Messenger of Allah, as saying: • "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?" Abu Hurairah quoted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as saying: • "May Allah bless the man who gets up during the night to pray and wakes up his wife and who, if she refuses to get up, sprinkles water on her face. And may Allah bless the woman who gets up during the night to pray and wakes up her husband and who, if he refuses, sprinkles water on his face." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also said: • "If a man wakes his wife and prays during the night or they pray two rak`ahs together, they will be recorded among those (men and women) who (constantly) make remembrance of Allah." Abu ad-Darda' quoted the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) as saying: • "Whoever goes to his bed with the intention of getting up and praying during the night, but, being overcome by sleep, fails to do that, he will have recorded for him what he has intended, and his sleep will be reckoned as a charity (an act of mercy) for him from his Lord." Salman al-Farsi quoted the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) as saying: • "Observe the night prayer, it was the practice of the righteous before you and it brings you closer to your Lord and it is penance for evil deeds and erases the sins and repels disease from the body." Abu Hurayra (Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace be upon him, his family, and companions) said, • “The best prayer after the obligatory prayers is the night prayer.”[Muslim] It is reported from Hazrat Anas R.A. that he heard our Beloved Nabee Sallallahoo Alayhi Wasallam say: • "Two Raka'ats of prayer performed in the middle of the night are dearer to me than the entire world and everything therein." One pastor once said to me that I have to reject it.He told me not to say “my endometriosis” but to refer to it just as a disease because it is, really, a disease. He said I must reject it. Well, I rejected it, but it didn’t go away. It is still here and I’m learning to cope with it. I hope those coming after me won’t have to cope the way I am. I expect they will have more relief because they would have been educated.A lot of people have died and lots are suffering in silence due to exchanging medical routes with my pastor said..... |
Ofido: @OP 65% of all you have said is FALSEHOOD, FALLACY AND DECEIPTThanks for your opinion but you are off point. |
jchime: Good for him him, he died in a holy land and will now have to get 144 wives instead of 72. Anyway RIP to the dead.If you can't read this short article, to identify the gender of the pilgrim then I can conclude that you are a good example of non Muslims who knows nothing about Islam but join d band wagon of peeps who abuse Islam and Muslims. I call it ignorance exhibited by an ignoramus. @ topic, May Allah forgive her sins and grant her Firdaus. It is beyond us as humans to read her intentions and express skepticism that she committed suicide. |
alstacs: how is no 80 the fault of the government? u mean people open their eyes and publish in funny journals without online presence and blame the government?Bros, there is no number 80 here. The list ends on number 62. |
alstacs: No 2 and 3 should not feature here please. Have seen the budgets of Universities? u will cry when u see properties being illegally acquired by the principal officers and heads of departments.2. Less than 20% of the universities use Interactive Boards 3.More than 50% don’t use Public Address System in their lecture OVERCROWDED rooms/theatres. These principal officers you mentioned are not in this struggle and that's why I said it's not all about money. Government should formulate policies to ensure budget implementation and support competence and achievement rather than using solely politics to nominate VCs. You see, the truth is that most public office holders are corrupt and lack of controls can open more channels for corrupt practices. When I say government, you need to see the larger picture. |
Brimmie: I thoughht i saw 72 Virgins !!12:40am! Ok, you must be sleep walking or just left a beer parlour drunk or typing in the wrong thread. |
shachris03: So true. And instead of facing these pertinent issues, they are busy awarding contract of 1.3 Trillion Naira for 'centenary Village'. What exactly are we celebrating? So painful my brother! Imagine! Quality education is for the rich, private Universities and abroad. Nigerians are moving to Ghana for studies when we have a higher number of universities. |
talk2s: You are right, but not completely, (maybe it's b'cos U're not Aki).Thank you! You are in the spirit, lol. |
Skillbobralph: Most of the problems are from Military and Obasanjo era. Was even thinking It was Jonathan's fault. But all these are too much for just this strike. The solution I see here is for them 2 call of the strike and giv Fed Govt 1yr to attempt these problem. All these problems can't even be solve in 1yr.You right sir but from experience government has always failed to fulfill their promises. We don't need to dig the history of the problem at hand and it's not about personality attack, that's why I didn't mention names. It's unfortunate GEJ is feeling the heat, he should consult appropriately and positively reshape the future of Nigerian Youths NOW. |
Finestprince: @op n u tink d 3trilion ASUU r luking 4 wil solve dis problem. The issues goes beyond 3 trillion, it's about government identifying the need to increase funding and stop neglecting education. It will also set precedence and direct the attention of government on the UNESCO recommendation. |
9jii.:Yes, Nigerians have enough reasons to shut down d govt. but what we are saying here is that attention should be focused on education in this country if we are interested in Nation building. |
wesley80: I'm all for solving Nigeria's education problems but how will this ongoing strike do so? Do you really know the issues? Can u expatiate your last question, pls? |
wesley80: I'm all for solving Nigeria's education problems but how will this ongoing strike do so? Do you really know the issues? Can expatiate your last question, pls? |
laughinggal: This isn't a liscense to the ongoing ASUU Strike. Are you even aware that ASUP Strike which was suspended has been resumed? This nation is doom for, seriously the FG are playing with the future leaders of this country.I see your point, but the government need to move closer to d middle of the negotiation table. This is the best time for ASUP to make their demands too, this will add tone to the total overhaul of the education system in Nigeria. A responsible and responsive government ought to have done everything possible to positively end this strike action. |

Another source said that they noticed suspicious movement at the Mosque at about 9 pm on Thursday night and that they alerted the Police, who eventually came to the party secretariat with two Hilux vans. You see the propaganda by the press against Islam? |
Salaam Alaykum, this piece is a bit long but highly beneficially as we step into the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. I feel all Muslims should enjoy the benefits and reward therein. All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. May peace and blessings be upon the Chief of the Messengers, Muhammad. Indeed it is a great favour and blessing from Allah that He has made for His righteous servants periods of time within which they can increase in good deeds to attain great rewards and one of these opportunistic periods is the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah (the final month of the Islamic Calendar, in which the Hajj is performed). Superiority of the First Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah The excellence of these ten days have been mentioned in the Qur'an and the Sunnah. 1. Allah says in the Qur'an: "By the dawn and by the ten nights … " [Al-Qur'an 89:1-2] Ibn Kathir said that "the ten nights" referred to here are the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, and this opinion was also held by Ibn Abbas, Ibn az-Zubair, Mujahid and others. 2. The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: "There are no deeds as excellent as those done in these ten days." They (the companions listening) said, "Not even Jihad?" He, peace be upon him, said, "No, not even Jihad except a man who goes forth endangering his life and wealth and does not return with anything." [Recorded by Imam al-Bukhari] 3. Allah says: " … and remember the name of Allah in the appointed days." [Al-Qur'an 2:203] Ibn Abbas and Ibn Kathir said this means in the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. 4. The Messenger of Allah, upon whom be peace, said: "There are no other days that are as great as these in the sight of Allah, the Most Sublime. Nor are there any deeds more beloved to Allah then those that are done in these ten days. So increase in tahlil (to say la illaha illallah), takbir (to say allahu akbar) and tahmid (to say alhumdulillah)." [Reported by at-Tabarani in al-Mu'jum al-Kabir] 5. With regards to the noble companion Sa'id bin Jubair, when the days of Dhul-Hijjah began he would strive to increase in good actions with great intensity until he was unable to increase anymore. [Reported by ad-Darimi] 6. Ibn Hajar says in Fath al-Bari: "The most apparent reason for the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah being distinguished in excellence is due to the assembly of the greatest acts of worship in this period, i.e. salawat (prayers), siyam (fasting), sadaqah (charity) and the Hajj (pilgrimage). In no other periods do these great deeds combine." What are the Recommended Acts in these Days? 1. Prayer - It is highly recommended to perform the obligatory acts at their prescribed times (as early as possible) and to increase oneself in the superogatory acts, for indeed, this is what brings a person closer to their Lord. The Messenger of Allah, upon whom be peace, said: "Upon you is to increase in your prostration to Allah, for verily you do not prostrate to Allah with even one prostration, except that He raises you in degrees and decreases your sins because of it." [Reported by Muslim] 2. Fasting - This has been mentioned as one of the acts of righteousness where Hanbada ibn Khalid reports on the authority of his wife who reports that some of the wives of the Prophet, peace be upon him, said, "The Prophet, upon whom be peace, would fast on the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah, the day of Ashura and three days in every month." [Recorded by Ahmad, Abu Dawud, an-Nisa'i and others] Imam an-Nawawi said that fasting in these ten days is extremely recommended. 3. Saying allahu akbar, la illaha illallah and alhamdulillah - It is found in the aforementioned narration of Ibn 'Umar: "So increase yourselves in saying la illaha illallah, allahu akbar and alhamdulillah." Imam al-Bukhari, may Allah have mercy on him, said: "Ibn 'Umar and Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with them both, used to go out to the markets in the ten days saying the takbir causing the people to follow them in this action." He also said: "'Umar ibn al-Khattab used to say the takbir in his mimbar in Mina, whereupon the people of the mosque hearing 'Umar, would start to say the takbir as would the people in the markets until the whole of Mina was locked in glorifying Allah." Ibn 'Umar used to say the takbir in Mina during these ten days and after prayers, whilst on his bed, in his tent, in his gathering and whilst walking. What is recommended is to say the takbir aloud due to the fact that 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, his son and Abu Hurayrah used to do likewise, may Allah be pleased with them all. Strive with us O Muslims in reviving this sunnah that has become lost in these times and it was almost forgotten, even amongst the people of righteousness and goodness all of which is unfortunately in opposition to what the best of generations were upon (preserving and maintaining the superogatory acts). There are a number of ways of making takbir that have been narrated by the companions and their followers and from these ways is the following: Allahu akbar, allahu akbar, allahu akbar kabirun. Allahu akbar, allahu akbar, la ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar, wallahu akbar, wa lillahil hamd. Allahu akbar, allahu akbar, allahu akbar, la ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar, allahu akbar wa lillahil hamd. 4. Fasting on the day of 'Arafah - Fasting has been affirmed on the day of 'Arafah, where it has been confirmed from the Prophet, peace be upon him, that he said regarding fasting on the day of 'Arafah: "Be content with the fact that Allah will expiate for you your sins for the year before (the day of 'Arafah) and the year after (the day of 'Arafah)." [Reported by Muslim] However, whoever is at 'Arafah as a pilgrim then fasting is not expected of him, as the Prophet, peace be upon him, stopped at 'Arafah to eat. May the peace of Allah be upon his Prophet, the family of the Prophet and all of his companions. SOURCE: Muhammad ibn Salih ibn Al-'Uthaymin www.sunnahonline.com |
