Remember that schools were closed down due to the COVID-19 Pandemic in March,The Federal Government had on Friday, announced that Federal Government-owned tertiary institutions in Nigeria, as well as Federal Government Colleges, otherwise known as Unity Schools, will reopen on October 12th for the continuation of academic activities.

State and Private universities are also expected to decide on their resumption date and resume accordingly.

he Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, addressing a press conference in Abuja, said the decision to reopen the schools was due to the fall in the COVID-19 cases across the country.

He said: “We have consulted widely with stakeholders in the sector including the Association of Private Schools (NAPPS), Provosts of Colleges of Education, Rectors of Polytechnics, Vice-Chancellors of Universities, State Governors, Commissioners of Education and other development partners on the matter and secured their support and cooperation.”

He cautioned schools to abide by the COVID-19 protocol put in place to ensure that students are safe and their health not at risk.

Good news for students in Oyo state as the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has ordered the reopening of Public and Private Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Institutions.

The announcement was made by Barrister Olasukanmi Olaleye, Commissioner for Education in a statement on Tuesday.

He said that ''The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer ‘Seyi Makinde has approved the resumption dates for Public and Private Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Institutions in the State.''

''The resumption date for 2020/2021 academic Session for Public / Private Primary and Secondary Schools as announced by the State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology will commence on Monday, 21st September 2020.''

He also added that it is mandatory for all Schools, Public and Private to constitute Covid-19 Taskforce to be headed by Heads of Schools with Two members of Staff.

''The revised Guidelines for Primary and Secondary Schools now include the followings:

'' Schools will now operate morning and afternoon shifting for pupils and students of primary and secondary schools as stated below:

Primary 1 - 3 (8.00 am - 11.00 am)

Primary 4 - 6 (12 noon - 3.00 pm)

EKSU 2019/2020 Matriculation update : Some students unable to join via zoom as 1000 maximum Participants reached

The Ekiti State University (EKSU) 2019/2020 Matriculation which was conducted today, 09, September via Zoom Webinar has totally gone wrong as most students were unable to join.


The Institution had earlier given an announcement that the 2019/2020 matriculation ceremony will be done online with students having their password to join the ceremony.

Other students were also logged out from the webinar session. Complaints made by some students were that they were unable to join for their own matriculation as the Maximum participants of 1000 for a Zoom webinar was reached.

Education / FG Approves Full Reopening Of Schools by TuroDee(f): 8:29pm On Sep 03, 2020
Hope for students as the Federal Government has approved the reopening of educational institutions in the country since its closure in March. Remember that the FG has listed conditions for schools to reopen earlier in June.

This was made known on Thursday at the PTF briefing by the national coordinator of the presidential task force(PTF) on COVID-19, Sani Aliyu.

''Reopening of schools would be done in phases''

“For educational institutions which include daycare, primary, secondary and tertiary institutions. Educational institutions should begin the process of working towards potentially reopening within this phase,” he said.

“However, we strongly recommend that states conduct risk assessment to ensure all schools are at a level of compliance and create a monitoring mechanism to assess, create, and monitor this level of preparedness.

Days after Lagos State Governor, Sanwo-Olu announced the resumption date for tertiary institutions in Lagos Stae, the Kogi State government has also announced the resumption date for schools, tertiary, secondary and primary schools inclusive. All levels were said to be resuming on 14th September 2020.

The announcement was made by the State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Mr. Wemi Jones on Tuesday in Lokoja at a press briefing.

They are currently being paraded by the Edo State Authories. the knowledge that was gotten from them revealed that the master mind behind the attack on the young lady wasn't the pastor or the clerics of the church — that the sooner media allegation were directed towards.

Instead it had been the landlady of the innocent girl who, consistent with one among the suspects, had wanted the young lady for rituals so as to spice up her business.

The woman claimed that Uwa was “too pure” and also found the young lady's chastity the proper kind for her underworldly intentions.

Paying these four men the sum of 1,000,000 Naira, they tracked her to the church supported the knowledge that they had about Uwa's usual routine, and that they came just like the wind of evil that they're and attacked the girl.

Further into the confessions of those men, Uwa had fought back. Which prompted one among them to succeed in for the church's extinguisher which was hanging on a wall, and he plummeted it into her skull.

They eventually had their way together with her when she was weakened from the struggle and after they were through with their satanic objectives, they wiped her private part with a white handkin that was provided by the said landlady.

Imagine the emotions that are currently running through the hearts of Uwa's family after realizing that the author their daughter and sister's death is someone that's near to them.

Someone that's very conscious of the innocent girl's daily routine.

And someone who was willing to pay people such amounts to require the lifetime of this woman.

The West African Senior School Certificate Examination finally started today, 17th August 2020, and is scheduled to end 7th September 2020. It has been reported that some public schools in Imo State are charging students N2,000 each to allow them to cheat in exams by providing the answers to the questions.

n Thursday, August 13, 2020, the Federal Government gave an update on when schools are likely to resume after it was closed down almost six months now due the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Channels TV on twitter,

The minister also noted that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is still on strike which was started before the lockdown in March.
he Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and chairman Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, said that presidents, prime ministers, and other top personalities have contracted COVID-19.

The minister of state for education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, giving an update during PTF briefing on COVID-19. Speaking on channel Television yesterday he said:

Once the PTF assesses all the data, it will inform us of when it is safe to reopen schools but the resumption imminent hopefully next month- Minister of Education (State)

He urged the general public to protect themselves against the virus and be safe until the vaccine is found.

"Presidents, prime ministers and other top personalities have contracted COVID-19. We must protect ourselves. Don't assume your friends, families are COVID-free; wear your masks before going out. We must remain alive and safe until a vaccine is found," he said.

The governing council of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has today, 12th August 2020 sacked Oluwatoyin Ogundipe as the Vice-Chancellor of the Institution.

The decision was made at the council's meeting which was held at the headquarters of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Abuja.
He was accused of Financial impropriety and gross misconduct.

In attendance at the meeting, seven members voted for the removal of Ogundipe (UNILAG VC), four voted against it while one member voted for his suspension

Officials of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) supervising the ongoing WASSCE examination were attacked by students of Bright Senior High School at Kukurantumi in the Eastern Region of Ghana on Thursday over strict invigilation.

A journalist with the state-owned Daily Graphic was also beaten by the students during the melee.

His phone and bag were taken away by the students who chased him on a motorbike and pummeled him even as he jumped onto a moving commercial bus to save his life.

The marauding students trashed phones belonging to the invigilators.

They were angry about strict supervision and social-distancing protocols in the exam hall.

The police had to intervene to calm nerves.

The West African Examination Council has on Tuesday, August 4th released the timetable for the 2020 West Africa Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). The Exams is scheduled to take place on Monday, August 17 and ends on Saturday, September 20, 2020, as disclosed by the council’s head of public affairs, Demiaus Ojijiegu. The Federal government had earlier given permission for exit classes only to resume so that they can complete the year.

The Body had advised students and the general public to be wary of fake timetables currently circulating the internet. The council also urged candidates to abide by the rules and regulations guiding the conduct of the examination and to also abide by all COVID-19 protocols put in place at the examination centre.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
UTME candidates must have scored a minimum of 180 in their UTME;
