You may be exempted by school but not by immigration. When I applied, my 1 year Education in UK exempted me for school, but I did an English test because immigration required 3 - 5 years in an English speaking country. I don't know if the latter requirement is still in place. Thank you for your comment, however it is also stated on the immigration website that students enrolled in a postgraduate research course also fall into the exemption category |
Most people don't acknowledge the fact that University admission processing is different from Immigration processing. If your school access you and are satisfied you meet up the requirement to study, immigration do not really have the right to question that except may be you have applied to a lower / level 3 institution. Having said that, you may want to submit a letter from your University in England stating: Your full names Program name Program duration Language medium of teaching Most people who apply to an AL1 program also make the mistake of including a bank statement and sometimes end up shooting themselves in the foot. I advise people to wait until asked by the case officer to provide one. You will never be denied visa on the ground of not providing a bank statement at the time of visa lodgement. The ball is in your court mate. Thank you |
[quote author=thefortuneone post=78723610]You are exempted from English Language test, because if you are not exempted, the school will not offer you COE. Best of luck in your visa application. [thank you ] |
Respected Gurus in the house, I seek your opinion and advice on this little, yet complex issue. I recently completed an Msc Degree in public health in England and I was admitted for a doctoral research in Edith Cowan University, Perth Australia. I got my COE on Friday and I'm in the process of making my online visa lodgement. My question evolves around English language test exemptions as I read that student enrolled in a postgraduate research course are exempted from English language proficiency tests as stated on https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/student-500. Excerpts as follows: You do not need to provide evidence of an English test score with your visa application if one of the following applies: you are enrolled in a principal course of study that is a registered school course, a standalone English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS), or a registered post-graduate research course. My question goes thus, can I proceed with the submission of my e-lodgement as I fall in the exemption category baring in mind that my Uni has indicated in my COE that I have satisfied their English language requirement or do I still need to write an English test prior to submission. Advice and comments are welcome |
mrgamers:9 days. |
ujugirl88:They sent collection mail |
ujugirl88:Yes I'm in UK already... I picked it up at the embassy |
tchimatic:ECO used Oanda rate on the date of biometrics and interview for calculation of my maintenance fees instead of rate on the day of application. |
RemMag:I haven't called them as I have no clue on what number I can call them on... I used VI VAC and have not gotten a mail or call from them for pickup. |
mrgamers:Thanks... ill surely update once I get it! |
mrgamers:I filed my AR on the 13th of September and got a mail from the ECM dat refusal has been overturned on the 26th of September... so it took 13days in all... I submitted my passport to vac on the 27th and still waiting to get a mail for pickup as last date for school is October 16... anyone got an idea how long it will take to get passport returned back after submission?. |
Hello All! Anyone studying in the University of west of England, Bristol... ill be coming in next week and I need accommodation advice... |
Bane001:The money dropped by £400, and I had an excess of maintenance funds at about #800,000 on my 28days start date |
justwise:Well, my write up is just a fora to help would be applicants in such situation. I strongly believe prevention is better than cure. If you believe I'm the first that would get rejected based on that then I concur... but note that @bane001 also said he knows someone that got a refusal based on that... |
Rather they lick their wounds and maintain a sense of silence as other people go down the drain. I took the pain to sign up so as to address this issue and prevent a lot of people from towing this path as I am a fresh victim.. I had way more than the funds required when I started my 28days count however the surge in Oanda rate in early August made it fall below the required funds by 100pounds and I got a refusal based on that... the pain of wasting my application fee and priority fee is nothing compared to the feeling of losing a whole calendar year because of an avoidable mistake... to add more salt to injury, the fact that i'll have to state in all my future visa applications that have had a previous refusal is appaling... he who has ears let them ear... congrats to all that had a successful visa application. better luck for is dat got refusal next time |
@bane001... well av been following this thread for months now and I have read and digested all the posts here at present and in the years past... I really must give kudos to just wise and other gurus here... as for you question, I will state explicitly that never should you attempt to make a visa application when your maintenance funds has fallen below the funds required regardless of the fact that you had the required amount on the start date... I noticed that just wise has said it over and over again that it wouldn't pose a problem for an applicant so far he has the required funds from day one but that isn't actually true cos those ECO follow the rules stringently... it's not just wise fault to assume his position as that regards cos I carefully noticed he adds that he hasn't seen any person rejected on the basis of fluctuations of the Oanda rate and this is basically because people that got their visa refused based on these issue never bother to come back to this thread and drop their feedback so as to prevent other people from making such mistakes. Rather they lack their wounds and maintain |
