Try and ignore him some more... Be deliberate in subtly showing your hubby some of the issues. For eg, strap Mofe to your back and start mopping while hubby is home so he will be forced to ask why the fellow isn't helping. Or strap Mofe(poor Mofe lol) again and say you wan go buy bread or something he can do.

That changing channel thing drives me mad, i would insist he changes it right back... nonsense upon ingredient..

Truth is that you have to overlook some of the things he does..you ain't in competition with him.. You have to know he's a 'big' boy and deserves some respect from you. You really can't be scolding him like a lil child or sending him on errands here and there without courtesy. . Seriously, he tries considering the chores you mentioned he does in your house ..some guys won't even raise a finger... You can't be treating him like a subordinate or something. .

When my brother in law came to our house to spend some time, we were gisting like siblings .. I didn't try to show him class or let him know I'm the boss here, this made feel so welcomed.. He in turn respected himself and would even do some chores without my knowledge because he felt so free..

From the way you write, i could deduce you dislike the guy and you're overreacting ... Seriously, you ain't in competition with him, not in YOUR own house..You're losing your respect by all these bruohaha..This is my opinion. .

However, if you feel his presence is causing harm.. Your husband can always send him home ...

Firstly ..... He's not on a visit, he stays here and has for the past 2years.

Secondly ..... Am of the opinion that if you stay in a house you should contribute your quota to the running of the said house, that said I can't clean after him nor cook for him while he sits and fold his arms in the sitting room doing nothing day in and day out ..... NO!

Thirdly ..... We use to be close as in sit and gist and laugh et all. DH was even surprised that we are going down well (DH knows the brother has funny attitudes) and I once told DH he misunderstands his brother. I even played the role of a go between DH and the brother but you don't expect me to keep quiet when he does something wrong simply because I want to be friends with him ..... No way. He hates being corrected and I hate people that can't be corrected.

Fourthly ..... I don't hate him else I won't have tolerated him for the past 2years now + I have his mate as my younger brother hence I thought we could flow well from the start. I don't see anything big boyish in the chores he does (wash plate, sweep n iron). I have never sent him to wash my clothes nor Mofe's own neither have I sent him to buy me sweets or biscuit.

Am damn tired of this BIL of mine that stays with us (Myself, DH & Mofe). The dude is trying to boss me (Maybe am the one feeling that way) but that's the vibe I get from his attitudes. The only thing he does is sweep the house (Excluding my room) and he doesn't even do it properly, he washes plate (Not always coz I wash while cooking) then wash n iron DH clothes. He frowns up n down. I call him sometimes and am sure he heard me quite alright but he would deliberately not answer. He challenges me subtly when I point out something he didn't do right. I send him on an errand (I barely do) and he chooses when he feel like doing it without even telling me. I sweat out in the kitchen, dish his food and not even a "thank you" from him. He would know am watching a program in the room but flips to his desired channel in the sitting room and we use a central dish. He stamps round the house in ways DH doesn't even do. Maybe he screwed up the previous day and I talk to him, he won't greet me the next day (Not that its a big deal coz his greeting doesn't translate to credit alerts but I noticed). He is 20years and am older. These attitudes of his I have complained to DH and he has addressed them so have I but he has refused to change so I want him out of my house, I don't want him to change again, I want him to leave my house. Those are the little I can mention from all the crap I see from him. All he does in the house are things I can do with Mofe strapped to my back as I have weighed his plus and minus and the minus outweighed the plus. The vibe i get is "Its my brother's house so nothing dey happen". Am trying to keep calm and not create any impression in my in-laws but its getting out of hand and I have to react.

Big congrats to all the mamas that has dropped their LOs...(I no fit compile names Abeg). God bless them richly.

Lol @ baba rolling stone. The Read a Dream truly works o. Sniper . I only use it when roaches wan finish me for kitchen. I use it in the evening and dont go there till the morning after which I will (beg someborri to) scrub the floor and wash all the plates and utensils.
If you have to use it. Do so early morning then everyone should leave the house. By evening it should be safe to enter. Or better still fumigate the area.

Unto the next one........ I use my blender to peel my beans yesterday and girl, it was fast and clean. My blender grinded it into smooth paste and the moi moi came out yummy (DH wei dey use brain avoid my moi moi after I Bleep up one time like that don declare say "rice has to go with this your rebranded pattern of moi moi) I blush tire.

Maybe you shouldn't use it daily to be safe. I once ended up in hospital with my 2nd child because he inhaled regular insecticide how much more sniper! God will spare us from malaria. Maybe you can fix a net on the kitchen door since you leave it open

I don't apply it daily....May God save us jare coz mosquito no just get respect. If they can just bite me and leave Mofe I won't complain.

Tyconcepts I take God name beg you stay away from sniper! The composition of that stuff is too hazardous for humans to inhale! And 2-3hours ventilation isn't enough to rid the house of its residue, it has a long term effect on the lungs. I don't know why that thing is sold OTC.

Sniper is really harsh.....Truth! But when I use I drop it around 3pm and before we get to use that room is till 7pm/8pm. Its meant as pest control for agro purposes I guess that's why it sold in the open and since mosquitoes is pest hence why again.

Alternatively since u have tried these chemicals n haven't achieved d desired result maybe u should try to be observant to see if u can track d source. Is ur room close to ur bath room. So u can pour engine oil into the drainage were d water pass tru. Dis will help kill the eggs and hence reduce d mosquito or check if the window nets are loosed. Malaria in children isn't funny at all. So its block all avenue that ll make them enter d room.

My suspicion is via the kitchen....I stay in a new layout sort off and lots of undeveloped lands around so myself & my neighbours turned the land behind our kitchens in dumping site (covers face)....My guess is the mosquitoes comes via the kitchen from the dump site and since I keep my kitchen door open most of the time, its easy access. Have being closing that particular door since this war. The thought of my boy having malaria is the reason am trying to fight this.

@tyconcepts, Before i got married when i was living alone, i had same issue. The mosquitoes are giants.
Get someone to fumigate the compound for mosquitoes specifically. I paid just 1k for that then.
Then try other insecticides like Baygon or Read a dream. When i used Read a dream, i saw the silly bloodsuckers all over the floor, dead. And the smell didn't last for long.

Please protect yourself and Mofe's delicate skin

Already arranged for fumigation..... Real bloodsuckers Once I see mosquito I can't sleep but DH dey sleep well and even dream coz mosquito noise na lullaby for him ear

Never seen nor heard of "Read A Dream" tho'


PS : A mosquitoes killer's name has never sounded this sexy

tyconcept, baygon is a good product. make sure u close all doors by 4pm. I use insecticide every 3days and we r good.. ventilate the room for atleast 2hrs with fans nd d windows open or 3hrs without fans. u just have to b extra careful nd vigilant. my lo shares my bed nd I dnt sleep with net...

I will try out Baygon then. And stick to the closing of all doors to see if there would be improvement.

Sniper use to work well for me until now. Yes I spray early and allow hours before entering. Its because of the mosquitoes wahala hence I opted for something as strong as snipper. Thought Baygon has lost its efficacy. The door is always closed.

the mosquito killers you use are very effective.
What i do is to spray the room once every week. it reuces the mosquitoes and since then there has been no bite on my lo.
pls try and ventilate well before you and lo sleep in (especially with sniper, and mop the floor well too). i let the insecticides stay for like 4hrs, then ventilate. i hope this helps

Someone told me you don't get to suffer mosquitoes palava if you are staying in a storey building..... Hmmmm.....Obviously somebody lied coz the mosquitoes are giants and seems to drink the "Swan raid" and "Sniper drops" I use and Mofe has refused to use his bed that has net so I always have my heart in my mouth when its getting dark I found 3 mosquitoes bite on Mofe's cheek and am scared already.

Abeg mamas help me recommend a very harsh mosquitoes killer.....Na very serious matter joooor.

Your dhs are like my dad. They can keep things for the world. You won't believe I saw my Dad's Sec Schl note books. He specially kept the prizes he won sef. And they still looked so neat, beautifully wrapped. Some of them should still be at home sef.
one advantage is that they will always keep things neatly and for future reference...which might be useful.

Yes it hit me real hard when my lovely Mum finally died in my hands, afta 4days of illness. I'm in soo much pains at d moment. Scared wen lonely, cry every night, memories of her on ending as all my lyf she has bn close to me n dh.

My mum cudnt wait to see my baby n takia of us as we hav both planned.

Pls wat do I need to do to get dis pain off my mind n her memories too?
